finally posting a pic of my boy po!
he was made as one of last years exams and based on pictures i drew as a 6 year old, all of the patterning and proportions were done completly by eye, as fits both the way i prefer working with nålbinding and the charming unevenness of the original drawings

The book cozy for my lotr book is growing ^_^
The base is crocheted cotton yarn from my stash, the rest is gonna be nålbinding in Finnish 2+2 F2 with Lettlopi which i bought second hand.
Going from round-based crochet into spiralbased nålbinding was not easy, and i'm not sure i found the best possible solution for it. I might go back later and do a few more securing stitches with a sewing needle..
Not sure how long my ambition holds, but i might end up embroidering something on it later? Maybe I'll dust off old my sindarin knowledge... or.. huh... dwarfen runes would be easier to embroider than tengwar actually... we'll see, we'll see.
First i gotta do enough rounds to hold the 1.3 kg tomb xD
And the flap. There's gonna be a flap for sure. Triangle, is what i'm thinking atm.
I'm excited! ^_^

I have learned the pivot start and it is a game changer for mittens. Next to try: socks! (After I make a second small pair of mittens.)

finally trying out nålbinding and after consulting several very confusing videos, I successfully made some small chains
definitely need some more practice keeping the tension and loops consistent but I love the result

1/3 done, I hope
(the edges are slanting because it'll eventually be a triangular shawl. They're curling because Oslo stich is a wiggly little fella)
This is my first time using a wooden needle and I'm really enjoying it. It's got a lovely feel in my hand. I still have over 3/5 of the gigablanket to finish and I'll have to use the embroidery needle for that, in case switching messes with the tension or something, but after that project I think I'll switch to using wood, horn, and bone needles exclusively

Has anyone ever thought that knitting was developed to be a accessibility tool for naalbinding.
Like some person out there lost their thumb and their friends knew how much they loved naalbinding, so they suggested using a stick in replacment?

Very very casually messing around with a bit of nalbinding again- this is gonna be a bag or pouch or something equivalent assuming that everything goes to plan.
