It’s Mermay!!
Because of that, I’ve drawn a collection of water based creatures from the folklore of Northern Europe
I made these quicker than I usually do and I’m very proud of them
Here’s where each one comes from:
Selkie - British Isles, the Faroes, and Iceland
Kelpie - Scotland
Nøkk - Norway (there other versions from different countries with similar names)
Finfolk - Orkney, Scotland
Nuckelavee - also Orkney

A combination of a Nøkken and a Mavka (or, in simple terms, a mermaid). To be honest, when I first saw Nøkken, I was like "oh, so it's Mavka, only for some reason with a violin", but then I found out about Nøkken. Mavka just also lives in reservoirs, and attracts people there.

As a fiddle player i vibe so hard with näcken. I don’t play to be good, i play to bang out forbidden tunes and curse everyone within a 1 mile radius of me, including myself 👹

If you were to write a story with Bella being inhuman at the start of twilight (any kind, nisse, nesse, selkie, w/e) in any way, what would you pick and why? (And why would Edward think her a demon .... just kidding but maybe a little not lol)
I think I'll go with a nøkk.
Bella alternates between many forms when she is on land. She can be a piece of driftwood, a beautiful white horse, a beautiful young man, a bearded old man, or a small person with a red nisse hat. Her aim stays the same, she lures people and animals into bodies of water where she then drowns them. Unbaptised children and pregnant women are most at risk, and her victims' deaths will be attributed to accidents or suicide. She can also be an omen of a drowning to come.
She bemoans her solitude, longing for the deliverance of her Christian soul that will never come.
This is Bella:
On meeting the Cullens, she lures Edward into the water only for him to not drown. They bond over their hideous appearances (once she's in the water Bella often resembles a gloomy, hairy, thing that gazes at you from the depths) and "wahh I'm never getting into heaven :/" angst.
Carlisle befriends her too and tries to persuade her to stick to drowning animals.
