Screen Print Design Development 2

For my second design, I once again found some pieces of inspiration from Pinterest and created my own. Specially, I liked the flower detail which I thought would represent the theme from my given collection well. In addition, I wanted to add the female sign to incorporate the feminism theme.

I photocopied my design, as well as minimised and enlarged it to experiment with different layout ideas. There are a few of these that I liked more than other and some that I probably won’t carry forward.

Concept Development

Also, when gathering images of research and inspiration for my sketchbook, I found some female floral deisgns. I liked the style of these in particular because of its simplicity but effectiveness to translate a message of female empowerment whilst being elegant and refined. I chose a few that I like and created my own versions inspired by these original and my previous developments work.

This initial design was very intricate and detailed with flowers and leaves. Also, the lines which make made up this design were very thin. Therefore, I chose to alter this in such a way that the final outcome of the possible screen print would be as accurate and edgy as possible. This is as well as adding other elements, including a female symbol to incorporate my research and portray the theme I have selected clearly.
