This Hogmanay Sebastian and Blaine have travelled back to the Smythe family home in Paris to bring in 2023 in style. Bas' big Sister Aurélie is looking after their adorable Corgi puppies Harry and new arrival Boq, and Bas and Blaine are watching the Champs-Elysées illuminations, before getting ready for Dinner at the Royal Monceau Raffles followed by dancing their feet off at their New Year's Eve 2023 party.

Day 1: Reunion

Here's a breezy summer read for you, a WIP (I will convert this into something publishable as a YA book so I promise I will finish it!). It's set during a summer between Seblaine's college years. It follows merrily along with one of my favorite books, "Carney's House Party." This is my first full length fic I've started exclusively for Seblaine Week. As it's the end of an era, the effort felt merited!

For all of those who thought Blaine’s move back to Ohio to teach at Dalton felt like a contrivance…this fic assumes canon until that point. Right after the end of Blaine’s stormy first year at NYADA, Klaine break up.

But they don’t get back together because Blaine never goes to Dalton. He is braver, he goes west and crashes on Cooper’s couch. After year of recovery and development, he starts school at one of the best music programs in the country. The archenemy of my own alma mater: The University of Southern California (I actually worked there and it’s an impressive school, worthy of our dear Blaine).

Kurt and Blaine do talk again, but aren’t silly enough to try long distance. They keep in touch as friends. So after two years of being apart, Kurt is the biggest question mark in Blaine’s life. Fighting with Sebastian after the Season 5, episode 01 proposal maybe be his biggest regret.

Unlike my other stories, I decided to bring Hunter Clarington into the fray. Will Hunter help or hurt Seblaine’s chances of getting together?

29. one headcanon about this OTP that breaks your heart

ugh, okay, buckle up because we’re boarding the sad train here. also, apologies in advance for rambling. 

so in my mind, i feel like Blaine was less upset about the slushie and more upset after that moment in the lima bean earlier that day—like obviously the slushie was a big deal, and he was mad and he did almost lose an eye, and even if it was an accident they were trying to hit his boyfriend (whom I hate but still he mattered to Blaine)—but that moment in the lima bean was when Sebastian *first* betrayed him. Like I can just imagine Kurt saying “How often do you talk?” and Blaine thinking, well all the time but because we’re friends—or I thought we were. Here Blaine was, estranged from his old friends and not really making any new ones at McKinley, and Kurt who was the only person in his corner at the time was constantly busy with NYADA stuff. He was alone, and then finally he found someone who wanted to hang out with him, who listened to him when they talked. And then that someone took one of those very conversations that meant so much to Blaine and twisted it on him, using what Blaine had said, USING BLAINE, to try and get ahead of the New Directions. I can’t get over the devastation Blaine would have felt in that moment.

Goodness knows I love Sebastian, he is my son one hundred percent, and part of my headcanon is also that he was confused and didn’t understand his feelings for Blaine and then acted out BUT that bit still upsets me so much. And then the radio silence that occurs between them after—Sebastian tries to apologize, and I like to think Blaine ultimately forgives him, but he doesn’t know how to talk to Sebastian again, so he just...doesn’t. And vice versa. But obvi they reunite at some point and fall in love and live happily ever after okay I'm done thank you for your time

30. one headcanon about this OTP that mends it

When they do finally get together, Sebastian does everything in his power to protect Blaine from everyone and everything, but most especially himself. He feels terrible for how he acted when they were teens and basically vows to never hurt Blaine like that again. But on the flip side, Blaine already trusts Sebastian wholeheartedly because he knows now that they whole thing when they were kids was just a mess of teenage hormones and pent up feelings. He knows nothing like that will happen, so while Sebastian works to reassure Blaine that he cares and he’s there for always, Blaine has to reassure Sebastian that he understands and that he doesn’t expect Sebastian to be some knight in shining armor. He just expects him to love him.

3. Most common argument?

Oh god, these losers. I feel like they always fight about ridiculously petty stuff--like who leaves their clothes on the floor or who doesn’t pick up dirty coffee mugs around the apartment. So common, tiny fights? Happen all the time. The most common argument that means something though? That has to be about Kurt--because I feel like it’s a common sore spot for them both in different ways. Especially at the beginning of their relationship. 

17. Who says I love you first?

Sebastian. They’re seated in the Dalton café and Blaine is rambling about Warblers routines, eyes bright, face a soft pink from the warmth of his coffee and Sebastian just blurts it out. And it makes Blaine’s face a darker shade of pink and he leans over and KISSES him. 

18. Who leaves little notes in the other’s one lunch? (Bonus: what does it usually say?)

This gotta be Blaine. Though I can picture them both doing this. Blaine usually does small doodles where one stick figure is ridiculously taller than the other with small words of affirmation. Very important to Sebastian’s lunch routine.

It’s in the way Sebastian readily folds the laundry after Blaine puts a load in the dryer but falls asleep on the couch waiting for the cycle to complete.

It’s in the way Sebastian makes a playlist of songs depending on what (he knows) Blaine needs; feel good songs for lazy sunny days, upbeat tracks to get Blaine pumped up to go to that spin class he had signed up for, seductive love songs to reconnect after a busy week.

It’s in the way Sebastian pops by the auditorium where Blaine is rehearsing for a play- two cups of coffee in hand- even when he knows Sebastian himself is swamped with research and mock trials, just to watch snippets of his scenes or just for a quick kiss.

It’s in the way Sebastian still manages to buy a box of Blaine’s favourite honey roasted peanuts for his birthday even when they’re both dangerously low on funds.

It’s the little things; the things Sebastian say without words are those that scream I love you the loudest.

Hey, Seblainers! Helllllo, everyone else! Bliadhna Mhath Ùr (Happy New Year!) from here in Scotland!

Those following the 'Verse of my ongoing Seblaine fic Nine... will know that Sebastian and Blaine got married on 8th November 2021 - exactly 10 years to the day they first met, and while we're nowhere NEAR that yet in the fic, as you can see, Seblaine are spending their first New Year as a married couple in Bas' beloved home - Paris.

Harry, Blaine’s Pomeranian puppy that Bas gave him last Christmas, who's a year old now, and has travelled with them to France, is currently snuggled up and being spoiled rotten by Sebastian’s older sister Aurélie, so our beautiful boys are taking advantage of the rare (relative) peace to have a quiet moment just taking in the clear view they have of the fireworks at the Eiffel Tower from the garden of Bas' family home, and toasting 2022 and each other.

Their Nine... journey will continue very soon, but in the meantime, this is me thanking everyone who has liked and reblogged my graphics or my writing, and who has supported me in the last year, which has been incredibly difficult for us all.

Wishing ALL of you a happy, healthy, wonderful and SAFE 2022, from me!

“Let’s do a couple costume this year.”

Sebastian watches Blaine unwrap another Hershey kiss, popping it into his mouth. “That’s like your tenth one.”

Blaine shrugs his one shoulder, “I’m forgoing dinner for dessert.”

Sebastian smirks and shakes his head, looking down at the book he’s trying to concentrate on if it wasn’t for his ridiculously handsome boyfriend eating candy on the other side of the couch. “You’ll regret that decision later.”

“When you kiss me, I’ll taste like chocolate.”

“I didn’t say I was going to regret it,” He closes the book, giving up, “I said you would.”

Blaine looks unconvinced, licking his lips as he swallows, “Let’s do a couple costume this year.”

Sebastian scrunches his nose almost immediately, “It’s gonna be a no for me.”

“Oh come on, please. We never do a couple’s costume. It’ll be fun.”

“It sounds terrible,” He moves to take the bag of Hershey kisses that are sitting on Blaine’s lap. “We never do it because couples costumes are always cliché and cringe worthy.”

Blaine purses his lips, moving to lay down on Sebastian’s body. It’s very haphazard but Blaine doesn’t seem to be bothered with the fact that his knee digs into his boyfriend’s shin and his elbow pushes against his stomach. He settles down between Sebastian’s legs, letting his arms rest on either side of Sebastian’s waist, smiling up at him. The taller shakes his head, his one hand raking through Blaine’s wild curls because he can’t keep his hands to himself.

“Kurt’s costume party has prizes every year for best costumes and he always wins the couples category.” He rolls his eyes, “I want to win,” He pokes Sebastian’s chest, “And I know you want to beat him too.”

Sebastian hums, “That’s very manipulative.”

Blaine grins, “It’s not my fault you’re as competitive as I am. Come on, please?” He pouts for extra effect, which is entirely unfair since Sebastian’s already agreeing to this stupid idea.

“Fine, just…no animals, alright? I’m not dressing up as some sort of lion or something equally ridiculous.

“Well that’s too bad because I already wanted to be that dad joke about the bison? What does the dad bison say to his son when he leaves for college? Bye-son.”

Sebastian can’t help but laugh and he hates that it causes Blaine to erupt in a fit of giggles, “That’s fucking ridiculous and not a couples costume.” But he can’t stop his boyfriend from laughing into his midsection, shoulders shaking with effort. Sebastian rolls his eyes and eats another Hershey kiss.
