i HATE that in order to call out you have to call out hours in advance where i’m like well i might not be feeling well enough to work but i don’t know for sure so i should call out bc if i don’t and i end up not being able to work that’ll suck but i also never am able to tell how much i can handle and if i can handle going to work or not until i actively can’t handle it, like i can’t fucking sleep and my 10 hr shift starts in 4 hours,,,,,, like i probably can’t work that shift bc i cannot function on little sleep even and i fuckin can’t make myself go to sleep either and i feel bad calling out so much but i need to do something but i’m dying but i can’t afford to not work but if i work i think i might pass out and why can’t i just be healthy and stable

In defense of Lecfosi
I think that the aggressive defense of Charles is often the result of the constant slander he gets for shit that isn’t even his fault.
Just this one race this year alone and you already have people saying ferrari fired the wrong driver because of misinformation about just how bad Charles’ brakes were (I’m looking at you Lawrence Baretto and your official F1 article), which has people saying Charles was making “LeExcuses” and was simply underperforming compared to his team mate instead of having a completely different and FAR WORSE braking issue.
Damon Hill saying shit like “You’d never say that Charles has got the upper hand over Carlos.” And “Carlos is able to beat him on many occasions, and has done over a season.”
Which Lecfosi would have to suck it up and deal with IF these were actually fact. But even last year in arguably Charles’ worst season, that wasn’t the case, was it? Looking at their overall stats, Charles is still the stronger driver. (Yes Carlos won a race but Mr Hill here is talking many occasions and over a season no?)
Why should Charles fans not react when blatant misinformation is being thrown around that shows their driver in a worse light than reality.
So yes, sometimes Lecfosi can come across too reactive. But I think it’s a counteraction to the constant waves of negativity and unfair reporting being shown of Charles.

no but like can we talk about how jun'ichiro is like... an amazing actor? i mean... atsushi's entrance exam, the whole lets himself get taken hostage by the port mafia in cannibalism arc thing... jun'ichiro has RANGE. and like if you think about it, he acts more than he realizes. like... his ability kind of requires him to act and pretend. or he'll need to pretend he's not using it or that it's real... idk i just think jun'ichiro is such an interesting character ahhhhhhhhh

BSD: An Absurdist Analysis - Chapter 4
Shinsoukoku's first encounter
[Masterpost]
We begin in the middle of Atsushi’s first encounter with Akutagawa, and Higuchi starts shooting at Atsushi and Tanizaki, but Naomi shields her brother.
Tumblr media
Now I didn’t really talk about the Tanizaki siblings in the last post partially because I was focused on Akutagawa’s introduction and partially because they’re fucking weird and I try not to think about them too often. That being said, they’re relevant now so I guess I gotta talk about these two people who I hope are not genuinely siblings and just have an incest fetish — which I will specify is still not great, but at least its better than them literally being siblings!
Anyway, I mention the incest thing because… well, it’s absurd. Everyone who is not the two in question is made pretty uncomfortable by it, and even though its played for comedy most of the time, for both Naomi and Tanizaki, their affection for one another spurs them to take action in an absurdist way.
Naomi, despite not being the ability user of the pair, takes the bullets. Although we know as people who have read BSD that she does this likely knowing that Yosano will be able to heal her, there’s no guarantee of that, and a first-time reader definitely wouldn’t know that. To the reader and even to Akutagawa and Higuchi, Naomi stepped in during a seemingly hopeless situation, even though her actions were likely to only temporarily help.
Luckily, Tanizaki uses his ability against Higuchi until Akutagawa steps in and easily takes him down.
Then, we’re left with Akutagawa and Atsushi alone (after Akutagawa slaps Higuchi across the face… not one of his better moments).
For all intents and purposes, Atsushi should have no chance right now. He doesn’t really know how to use his ability, Tanizaki and Naomi are both down and Akutagawa is set up as this ruthless, dangerous, and basically unstoppable force.
Akutagawa begins the interaction by claiming that Atsushi just hurts everyone around him, sending the latter into an anxious spiral until Tanizaki tries to tell him to run, alerting him to the fact that he and Naomi are still alive and cementing his determination.
Tumblr media
At this point in the story, Atsushi only lives for other people, not himself, and this will be his driving force for a while, though his experiences will eventually begin to undo that mentality. It is after this that he decides to fight back against Akutagawa, despite the odds.
Akutagawa even kind of calls him out on his absurdist behavior, having full knowledge of his own reputation and skills and the apparent likelihood that he would succeed over Atsushi. “Dying for justice…? How cliché,” he says disdainfully.
Tumblr media
Atsushi steals his gun and then tries to fire at Akutagawa, but then he reveals that Rashoumon can protect him from bullets and dismembers Atsushi’s leg. Once again, we’re put in a position where it feels pretty much impossible for Atsushi to win, and he is launched into a flashback from his time at the orphanage. He reflects on the fact that he’s been spurned since birth, but even so he continues to fight back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, despite being terrified of his own ability and its potential to hurt other people, Atsushi makes use of it in this moment in order to rebel.
And that’s what absurdity is all about, the act of revolt against what is unfair in life. Atsushi having to face Akutagawa as an opponent right now is wild, for all the reasons I stated earlier, but because Atsushi refuses to give in and accept his own death (even if its because he wants to protect other people rather than himself), he is able to protect himself long enough for Tanizaki and Dazai to stop the fight, and he survives.
Dazai reveals that his absurdly forward flirtatious behavior from the prior chapter actually enabled him to plant a bug on Higuchi, implying that she suspected her from the very beginning. Higuchi argues that the Port Mafia will decimate the Armed Detective Agency if they don’t hand over Atsushi, emphasizing how large the mafia is and how much control they’ve got. I’ll I will say about this for now is that basically this won’t happen because the agency continues to survive and succeed through the power of absurdism, basically.
Oh, also? Dazai is revealed to be a defected member of the Port Mafia! But I’ve already talked about his defection and Oda, so I don’t feel the need to reiterate all of that, I just wanted to note that this is when this fact is revealed, and it’s revealed by Akutagawa. I will talk more about Akutagawa’s obsession with Dazai when it becomes more directly relevant.
That’s the conclusion of this chapter! I do want to mention that going forward Atsushi and Akutagawa’s relationship is going to become increasingly important because they’re essentially the conflict of an absurdist versus a nihilist, and we certainly see the foundations of it in these first few chapters.

Dazai Osamu and the Armed Detective
I would love an animatic or fic with Dazai and the Agency with the song 'It's Alright' by Mother Mother. This would be where they find out about what his crime list in the mafia is and they don't treat him like a demon or and monster for what he did, but like a kid who grew up in the wrong place and had traumatic past. And while it goes on Dazai slowly starts to realize that they don't see him as he sees himself, but they see a kid that didn't have a childhood.
I just need to see this found family welcome him for he is like they did for everyone else. I want them to see him as a kid who didn't get to grow up like a normal teenager, going to school and not like the Demon Prodigy that killed others, abused Akutagawa, and many other crimes. I want the Armed Detective Agency to be able to see that even if he did Akutagawa, that's what he was probably taught to do in the Mafia, he was just doing what he was taught to do to his subordinate. I want them to tell him that he is human and that they care about him.
I want them to give a big group hug with Dazai in the middle. I want them to just realize he was a victim of Mori like Yosano was. I want them to just realize that he was too young for any of this to happen to him.
I want Dazai to realize that he can trust them, maybe not as much as Oda (and Ango) during his last years in the Mafia. To realize that being in the light, being a good guy is more beautiful than being in the dark. That having people there for you that care for you is much better than not being able to trust anyone in case of betrayal.
I want him and Yosano to talk sh*t about Mori and also vent each other when they remember what he put them through.
I want Kenji to talk to him about farming, how to do it, what the best time of year to do it is, stuff like that.
I want Kyouka and him to have simple conversations that have nothing to do with the Mafia.
I want Fukuzawa to just slowly embrace him and tell him it's okay if he needs to cry (albeit in an awkward, but caring way).
To Kunikida to verbally make sure he's doing okay and be a sorta therapist to him.
To Atsushi to willingly turn into his tiger to see if that'll help him sleep because of the fluff.
To have Him and Ranpo talk about absolutely anything that sounds idiotic to the others, but actually sounds logical to them.
I want Junichiro to notice if Dazai is pretending his emotions (Junichiro probably took Theater in school and could notice things like that) and talk to him when they're alone.
I want Naomi to ask for more tips and tricks from him.
I just want them to see him as Dazai Osamu, not the Demon Prodigy. I want them to treat him like his feelings are valid and he shouldn't keep them to himself. I want them to be there for him when he's having the su*cidal thoughts.
I just want them to comfort him like he is a part of their little found family. To just be glad he's trying to turn over a new leaf and change from when he was in the Mafia. Treat him like he didn't murder like they do with everyone else in the Agency.

I have to say this.
As much as I adore Death Note, my main criticism of it is the inherent misogyny when it comes to female characters. Naomi is a brilliant character, but she's only alive for five minutes, and Misa is your typical airhead blonde who's only in it to be objectified and be stupid. The number of close-up shots of her arse and breasts honestly make me uncomfortable.
There's so much more they could have done with Misa since she's clearly not that stupid, given that she located Light all by herself and committed those murders after her tapes were broadcast. But no, they had to just make her a sex object/annoying blonde for the rest of the series.
If you're going to include female characters in your main cast, by all means make them flawed and/or irritating, but no need to sexualise every aspect of them, and not do the same thing for the male characters.

I watched How I Met Your Mother during it's initial run. I (like just about everyone else) hated the way it ended. I was left feeling like the writers had shoehorned in so many plot twists in that last episode, just so the story could reach an ending that had been decided a few years before.
A few weeks ago I was feeling low and wanted to watch something that would make me laugh so, for the first time since it ended, I turned on HIMYM.
When it aired I thought the Robin ending was shoved in but then I got to season 6 and there are hints everywhere - and honestly that makes me even madder.
Ted was out there looking for his One, and it wasn't Robin. None of their life goals align. To have them have be friends who reconnected later in life is one thing. Having Robin be the woman Ted was always supposed to end up with turns The Mother into little more than a place holder - the woman who will give Ted kids and help raise them until they are just old enough to be "cool" and conveniently die so Robin can step back in.
(I have been trying so hard to put aside my Barney/Robin shipper glasses this time but man, did those two work together.)
Having Robin be endgame did such a disservice to Ted, Robin, The Mother, and the viewers.

+RANT+ another fucking unskippable youtube ad with unnessecary goddamn flashing lights
does youtube/disney+ (i think it was an ad for disney+) even know that epilepsy is a thing at all, let alone that it is a real thing real people have???
not putting unskippable flashing strobe bullshit in your ad should be WAYYYY more important than it apparently is considering how many fucking times we’ve seen this kind of shit on this platform (youtube) alone… especially since youtube REALLY FUCKNG WANTS YOU TO DISABLE ADBLOCK. AKA THE MOST RELIABLE WAY OF PREVENTING THESE SEIZURE-INDUCING ADS FROM POPPING UP OUT OF NOWHERE.
to the companies that make these kinds of flashy ads: how heavily do you have to prioritize your 🥺precious cliché flashy editing🥺 over the health of your viewers to keep doing this???
and to youtube: HOW FUCKING GREEDY DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO BEG AND PLEAD PEOPLE TO TURN OFF THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY TO STOP THESE ADS FROM SHOWING UP WHEN USING YOUR PLATFORM.
