Reasons:

basic design (if you remove the things on his outfit lmfao) hes pretty much a struggling idol in canon and hes painfully unpopular in universe too. he has a very straightwforward personality and comparing him to the other characters hes like. generic both appearance and personality. naoto shiraishi doesnt have a unique look either but comparing him to hanse naoto has a much more unique personality and is less of a boyfailure than hanse. i spedran this so forgive me

Propaganda:

He was once a joyous character full of whimsy who had a good relationship with his brother when he was forced to go study abroad because it would be ‘good for him’. So of course he already didn’t have a greaaaat relationship with his father since he was young. So off he went to Italy, where he was excluded and bullied because he didn’t know the language, plus he was a minority there so yknow. Then some guy named Mr Honda Konichi just conviniently waltzes into his life and becomes his tutor and companion, and they quickly made fast friends (son/father esque friendship). Mr Honda was the only real friend Shintarou ever had in Italy. They talked with each other, played with each other. Mr Honda cared for Shintarou and formed a bond Shintarou would treasure like nothing ever before. Shintarou was happy, so happy. He thought he’d be friends with this kind older man forever. But he thought wrong. Some days before, Shintarou had invited Mr Honda to go to the beach with his family. The young prince was elated and went off, but overheard Mr Honda saying he was going to rob their house because of their wealth. So Mr Honda knocked him out and buried him alive. In a dark, cramped box. Several feet under. With nothing but a hole and a pipe for air. And there he remained, for god knows how many days, until the Italian prince and his aide just so happened to pass by and rescued him. When he got out, he was so scared he couldn’t even go near anyone without going berserk. Then, he remembered he had to go to the beach with Mr Honda on Saturday, and ran, ran to see if Mr Honda was still there. He saw an ambulance, he saw police and EMTs. He saw a stretcher with a bloody hand hanging languid from it. He saw Mr Honda’s bloody, lifeless face, having been just shot to death after he tried to resist arrest. And that’s when he snapped. (but don’t worry mr honda is actually a kinda morally grey guy in the end we find that out later but it’s not relevant rn :() And now he’s scared to touch people or go into dark cramped places on his own and only trusts his robots because he thinks humans are incarnations of evil and there is no such thing as friendship, only mutual relationships where both parties benefit and nothing else. Ah yes, the good old (and still good) classic tragic past full of unresolved trauma which led to who you are today. The incident also hecked up his relationship with Junta, his brother (remember i told you he actually had a good relationship with him before) and they grew distant and hate each other now but not really. Dai Dai Dai Kirai. Ja Nai Ja Nai Ja Nai… He’s also a dick but cares when he is able to He likes omurice and nigiri sushi. Also he’s very smart and super duper good at playing chess and he secretly likes cats

((im too excited to keep this to myself lol, i love the smt persona series if anyone was curious, but i wanna explore yosuke meeting all these persona users who came before his group and after his group. i think thats neat :) i been trying to think of a way to have them all meet without it seeming like im just throwing characters together, least i hope it comes off that way, im not super confident in my writing but goddamn if im not having a great time doing this. idk if anyone was as invested in the p5 flower child au as i was, but i was suuuper into it, tatsujun parenting means the world to me. cant wait to draw dilf tatsuya for p5 ships, i might! theres a couple p5 ones i think are cute like makoto/haru or pegoryu bc i have taste- now more insane ramblings under the cut bc i cant shut up

i do wanna say some ships i wont be doing so yall can see inside my twisted mind- * i dont ship futaba with anyone, shes so baby sister coded to me, i cant it feels illegal * im not a big fan of akechi lol and with the way im loosely following the plots of the persona games, akechis not gonna show up unless he was mentioned/flashback, bc... yk... he kinda... well thats spoilers but ykyk. also theres only room for one detective prince in my heart (naoto)

to round it off some fun plot points i wanna explore (feel free to add any thru asks too i think its fun to have this be collaborative) * Souji and Akira get velvet room time together, souji gets to chill in a nice limo, akiras always in jail, its goofy * ryuji, futaba, and ann bumping into rise and naoto walking around the central shopping district, ryuji goes nuts bc thats rissette, ann goes nuts bc thats rissette and the original detective prince, futaba makes a joke that theyre dating bc naoto and rise are walking closely and have matching necklaces, kanji shows up, kanji also has a matching necklace. ryuji falls to his knees and yells YOU CAN DO THAT????????? * i have a cute idea for Rise and Ann talking about their inspirations for how they both got into their lines of work, i think they have a lot of overlap * Haru and Yukiko talking about having to take over their family businesses, the stress of it, being grateful for having the opportunity but also resenting said opportunity * Kanji, Ryuji, and Chie training together, talking about why they train, how they become stronger to be able to protect ppl they care about (kanji with biker gangs for his mom) (chie fighting off bullys who pick on kids, and her exp with Takeshi from her slink) (Ryuji training to continue to protect the track team hes no longer part of) * Futaba and Yosuke talking about video games, yosuke becoming overwhelmed by just how much futaba knows about video games, new baby sister unlocked * ryuji and teddie almost get arrested, they hype each other up too much, dangerous combo * Makoto and Naoto have a law and order moment * Nanako and Futaba talking about dads :) an opportunity for Futaba to feel like someones elder while Nanako makes Futaba feel like shes the younger one. why is nanako so responsible. * hey yall ever remember that ken amada p3 is the same age as the p5 cast, they were all born in 1998, isnt that-))

persona 4 shows naoto and kanji's dungeons (especially their appearances on the midnight channel) as scary things that should be defeated. this is done in a mechanical and narrative way.

naoto's shadow on the midnight channel describes his "experimentation" as being something new and exciting. but of course, the scary music cue is playing and immediately after his monologue you get a call from your friends emphasizing that whats happening to him is bad

the game ALSO makes a point to say that the shadow IS a part of the self. so, presumably naoto really does have this want to change his gender and kanji really does have an attraction to men. what's so FRUSTRATING is that it doesnt try to explore this in any meaningful way.

the shadows need to be accepted by the self, but also need to be fought in combat? this makes little sense to me. not only does this cast the shadow as antagonistic (when it really is only provocative), but it goes against the games own philosophy of personal growth. even worse, this makes it easy for the game to refuse to interrogate the origins of the shadow

why is it so bad that naoto wishes to be a man? or that kanji is homosexual? why are these placed on the same level as, say, mitsuo's lack of self worth or yukiko's victim complex? the answer is pretty simple, the gender & sexuality troubles and the negative personality traits stem from conscious repressions that allow their anxieties to grow into real issues.

the difference with naoto and kanji's shadows though is that the only problem with them is the expression. yukiko's shadow is obsessed with finding her "prince" it is, in effect, worse than kanji's. they both seek strong men in a romantic way, but yukiko seeks one to "free her" from her live and take care of her (thereby further trapping her as seen in the cage iconography in her fight.)

this is a real problem for yukiko! its a lack of self agency that is frightening and will lead to serious issues for her if left unchecked. naoto and kanji's shadows lack this aspect of self harm. the only reason behind them being antagonistic to the self is homophobia

well... this isn't entirely true. in fact, it is almost more sinister than that. kanji's shadow is obsessed with older men and voyeurism — this is easily seen as a problem, especially for a youth. however, this also plays on homophobic stereotypes so strongly it is almost laughable... if it wasnt so vile to see

naoto's shadow, in contrast, is considered a problem because... he seeks to experiment? to appear as a man? in some ways, this is even worse than kanji's — merely by existing as an outlier of gender expression is he condemned to villainy.

ive been looking at some more contemporary discussion of persona 4's story and a lot of the talk around either ignores these aspects or says it's pretty progressive for a game to even talk about gender in the first place. i dont know how you could ignore it when these issues affect 2 members of the main cast and come up CONSTANTLY in their stories — and to call this progressive? equally sad.

Okay. Random thoughts and notes from Lovers Naoto au! I'll just lay out the team roles here again for clarity as this post goes on.

Wildcard - Kanji

Magician - Rise

Star - Teddie. Still

Chariot - Yu

Priestess - Yosuke

Emperor - Yukiko

Lovers - Naoto

Fortune - Chie

Alright. Time to just. Lay a bunch of them out! Putting a cut here cause it'll probably end up long, don't wanna clog any tags with Long Post :)

So the idol group Naoto's in, Royale, they're all pretty close. Naoto, Prince, and the member called Knight were the first two chosen for the group at age 12, with the last being the member Dame at 13. They're all the same age, Naoto being the oldest by like. A week, and Princess pouts about it all the time

They have assigned colours! Naoto, Prince, is Blue. Knight is Yellow. Princess is Pink. Queen is Purple. And Dame is Red. They're like, the rising group at this time and, it's causing stress for poor Naoto

The girls call him Naonao, but not Knight. She only calls him Naoto, they're the closest of the group. She's always been his number 1 supporter, and. They're in the same boat, kinda. She's, very gay. Having to pretend to be into Prince, is hard

Queen's changing room is the one that they find the camera in. That's what sparks Naoto into having his breakdown that forces their rest period. Idiot was pushing himself

When Naoto renegotiates his contract, the agency reluctantly agree to stop forcing him to keep his T doses cut in half, to keep his face pretty and shit. And, surgery dates. And, when he returns after his recovery from top in Inaba at age 17, the agency. Realize they can actually use this

He's got very minimal scars, and it's rather easy for them to cover them for music videos and shows. So, they have a party themed album. Night life theming or something. All that matters is they're covered in glow paint handprints, and Naoto is in a mesh shirt

Rise. Buys that poster immediately. Hangs it in her room and longingly stares at Naoto. Maybe she has a cardboard standee of him that she talks to like a therapist. Very "oh Ariana, we're in it now" energy. Except that's her boyfriend

AND FHE RECOVERY. I HAVE MANY CUTE IDEAS

Naoto gets it done in Okina, so the gang is there to have a boobless and high Naoto handed over to them by the idol girls. He's. Very giggly. Slurring his words as he talks at length about Neo Featherman on the drive back in a van borrowed from Junes

Rise and Kanji stay to help him heal. Kanji is there for just a few days to carry the drowsy Naoto around, and. Rise stays the whole time and longer. She missed him. Also, someone needs to make sure he doesn't overwork himself again

He's real sweet the whole time, cuddling and smiling all gooey at her. He missed her! And he feels a lot better now. Back feels better, he can breathe better, he feels, more himself. He's glad he got a whole month to recover with Rise

Naoto with. Face scruff. None under his nose, but. His chin gets real scruffy before he notices. And man, Rise loves it. His fans don't get to see him in the morning when he's unshaven, that tickly blue scruff on his chin as he shuffles around the kitchen making breakfast. That's for her eyes only

For the final Royale shoot, right as theyre going to all retire at age 20-21, their agency ends up doing a whole special photo book and magazine. A special farewell to the group, as it were

There's a few pages for a beach spread of course. The girls in, revealing suits. And Naoto, both surgeries over with and healed, is handed some flattering shorts

He feels good. They make him shave all over so he's. Smooth. But, he mentally notes to get the IT together for another beach trip again

...Rise also buys these

Now. Back to their first meeting

Rise: H-HELLO IM RISE AND I LIKE YOU A NORMAL AMOUNT

Naoto: ...uhm. hi? Could you step aside? I have to run an errand for my grandfather and. You're standing in my way

Rise: ...*oh my god I got in his way I'm going to die.* hahaha sorry!

Naoto: ...now you know what I'm truly like... I'm sorry you had to see that,

Rise: we all have our things we hide,, it may change some things about the way I see you, but, overall, I think I'm still your number one fan. Both as Prince, and, as Naoto

Naoto: ...*fierce blushing*

Rise likes to pinch at his cheeks. He's still got a little of the Roundness that first year, and, she loves how flustered he gets when she just. Does something so simple

She starts taking photos of their friends making fake angry faces and adds the caption "are you binding safely"

He finds them. Somewhat amusing. But also the one of Kanji is. A little scary

Naoto's bedroom starts off real plain. The one in Inaba. To the point where when the team goes there to get clues, there's. Nothing. But slowly, as his break progresses, he gets more little decorations

So when he goes to stay during his recovery, it feels a little like coming home

Princess: I think your little girlfriend hates me

Prince: hi this is Rise!! And yes I do <3

Prince: SORRY SHE TOOK MY PHONE

Princess: lmao I like her!! Don't mess this up

Dame: if you don't marry that girl I will

Prince: WHERE IS THIS COMING FROM

Dame: she's cute, and remember, we have the same type, mister. Treat her right or I'll make her *my* lady

Prince: I WOULD NEVER DREAM OF HURTING HER

Knight: buddy she's teasing you

Prince: ...

Dame: HAHA

Queen: leave him alone he's gone through enough this year

Princess: lmaooo I bet he's bright red! Cherry flavoured Naonao!

Dudes who like Royale: man that Prince is lucky, being surrounded by those four pretty girls all the time

Naoto: I miss my wife, Tails. I miss her a lot

The big thing that doesn't change is that Rise still stares at the fire alarm every damn day

Kanji and Rise doing each other's nails, Naoto hugging Rise from behind and rambling about Phoenix Ranger or something

Kanji: they really don't take advantage of your collarbones dude! Tell your stylist they need to highlight them more, you've got manly ass collarbones

Naoto: ...thanks, I think

Kanji: yo, do you two wanna have a first years sleepover?

Rise: ooh! That sounds like so much fun!

Naoto: I mean, I don't see why not,

Kanji snoring on his bed with Naoto and Rise passed out on the futon, some romcom still blasting on the TV

Rise: Naokun and I will help you find a boyfriend!

Naoto: we will?

Kanji: you will?

Rise: yup!! A manly man, someone perfect for you!!

They do not succeed.

Naoto: what about Yu?

Rise and Kanji: he's gay for Yosuke

After his bottom surgery, the rest of Royale just drive him right to his place in Inaba where he has three months off to heal and be with his friends. It went a little rough this time, he reacted weird to the anesthesia and his legs are. Wonky for a bit

Naoto post surgery just talks the other idols' ears off about how he can't wait to see Rise again

Knight: Im driving so someone else please LIGHTLY poke at his side for me

The van isn't even parked and Rise is running up to open the back door

She gives him a tender smooch, ruffles his hair

Knight: where's Kanji? We were told he would help get Naoto inside

Rise: KANJI! THEYRE HERE

Kanji comes out in a little pink apron with kitties on it, ready to carefully carry Naoto up to his room: sorry, I was making him his favourite ramen

Kanji: hey little man, feeling okay?

Naoto: I got. Dick. I'm, great,

Kanji carries him up all slow and gentle, Rise with his blue duffle over her shoulder, getting hugs from the rest of Royale. They've come to adore her through Naoto. The photos, the way his face would always light up at her texts,,

The others come by to visit Naoto who. Has been coming down from the pain meds and is less than happy his friends are around while he's stuck lounging in bed in just his boxers

Naoto: I wish I could put pants on

Rise: I don't

Yosuke: BLECH, WAIT FOR US TO LEAVE, DAMNIT!

Yu: ignore him. We're happy you're feeling more like yourself, Naoto

Naoto: I'll feel better once I'm healed. Looking down and seeing. Unhealed surgery results. Can be horrifying

Rise: the first time he got up to piss in the night on his own he screamed and fell over

Kanji: Yeah I thought he was being attacked so I grabbed the chair

Naoto: it was very embarrassing

Kanji: okay, you're healed enough for a bath. You've got three options: you bathe alone, you have one with me, or one with Rise. Either way, I have to help you into the bath

Naoto: ...no offense, but. Kanji. Why would I choose to bathe with you over my girlfriend?

Kanji: we're bros

Naoto: I'll share with Rise, thanks. But. I'll have a towel around my waist until I'm in the water. I'm sure Rise can help me to get that resorted afterwards

Kanji: whatever you say man. I'm game to keep my eyes closed

Naoto: do not handle me with your eyes closed. Please.

Rise: I'll be there to help guide him though!

Rise slips into the tub behind Naoto, helps him remove the little waist towel, and then they're just. Relaxing in a warm bath

Rise: I have to sponge you down, but. I think we'd both prefer some skin time first

Naoto: mm. I've missed you so much,

Rise: I know. But, this is your last year. After that, we can do whatever! I can move to Tokyo with you if you want to continue being an idol, or you can move here with me, and we'll take over the tofu shop, or do our own thing

She presses little kisses along his shoulders, hands tangled with his under the water

It had taken Naoto a lot longer than she would've liked to get on her outfit on this morning but eventually she had managed to get herself presentable enough to go about her business. That business was usually sitting around and waiting for something interesting to happen. When you're not helping stop a supernatural serial killer, and you're living in Inaba, being a detective 'prince', even though she'd long since dropped that act and moniker, means you're not exactly in high demand. Sure every now and then she was called out to another city to for a press event and rarer she was called for an actual case but those were becoming increasingly fewer and far between.

Leaving her bed room and entering the rest of her home, she walked across her living room and pressed a button on her phone's base. "You have Z E R O new messages!" With a heavy sigh she'd turn and make her way over the her kitchen and sit down at her kitchen table, wincing softly as she did, hearing a creaking sound which she didn't know if she should ascribe to her chair or clothing, both options weren't great. Naoto rested her head in one hand, while using her fingers on the other to drum the surface of the table, thinking about what to do. Out of the corner of her eye, no matter how she tried to ignore it, she'd see each drum of her fingers soliciting a bounce from a slightly open cardboard box. Inside the box would be donuts, a running joke she had with her friends seemed to be them sending her these at random times.

She wasn't bothered by the joke, and she wasn't one to turn down a gift either but she had wonder how much this 'joke' had contributed her to her current figure. The hand drumming on the table curled into a shape halfway between claws and a fist, her fingers curling in and out as if deciding what to do. Tossing her head back with a groan, she reached forward and pulled the box closer, flipping it open and pulling free a donut. These seemed a little bigger than the usual ones she got, fluffier and softer but still just as delicious. Holding the donut in hand, she rested her head back in her hand as she chewed. She was frustrated and bored, a dangerous combo but she had little idea how to fix her current situation, and it didn't seem like it would just fix itself.

Getting about half way through her donut, Naoto's wandering mind would be brought back to the moment by two new sensations. Looking down, she noticed how tight her waistband had become and there seemed to be an intermittent stretching sound coming from it. She had just bitten into the donut and before she time to even finish the bite, the button on her pants sprung free, pinging somewhere across the room. Her eyes went wide and her hands quickly shot down to her pants, almost as if she could undo what just happened. The speed at which she moved however, would provide another problem, this time for her shirt and jacket. She had only fastened one button on her jacket, but it would be launched first in the rapid fire, machine-esque launching her shirt buttons, her soft midsection bouncing out.

Everything seemed to freeze for a moment, like Naoto wasn't sure of what to do and also was hoping that none of this had actually just happened. When she realized that this was a nightmare and this was in fact real, she could feel her face practically burst into flame as she realized her bra was exposed. Her hands went up from her midsection and clutched at her shirt, pulling it tight across her pale belly and chest. Of course this didn't really anything to cover the soft, supple hill of flab that she was sporting, but it helped her feel somewhat decent.

As she started to relax though, she remembered that she still had a donut between her teeth, and glancing her eyes downward, watched as it tilted slowly tearing itself away from the bitten portion bouncing gently onto her belly. With a heavy exhale, she released her shirt and leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes and sinking into. That was, until her eyes shot open into an incredibly bemused glare into the distance. Did she just another tearing sound just then? Looking down, she saw how she had slid into the chair, pressing down more firmly on her rear, forcing her thighs to bulge just ever so slightly more. The result would be a number of never noticeable popped seams along the thighs of her pants.

Grumbling under her breath, letting herself sink even further into her seat, and this time not caring for anymore wardrobe destruction, she picked up her donut and violently ripped a piece of it off.

"Well. This will be a pain to explain to Kanji. I'm sure he can fix it all though..."

It was unfamiliar territory for the robot, as Aigis walked the streets of Inaba, following the directions given to her. She'd only really visited Inaba once before, but the stay had been brief and she spent most of the time fighting. Now that she had more time, Aigis was starting to notice how pretty the little town was.

Her directions led her out of Inaba itself and into the outskirts of town to a large manor. This was a much more familiar sight to her - She was now a permanent resident of one of Mitsuru's mansions back on Port Island - the opulence and regalia a comforting sight as she rang the doorbell.

A smile pulled at her lips as the door opened. Aigis bowed politely before saying, "Good morning, I am looking for Shirogane Naoto. I have a case for the Detective Prince."

ok but really even without all the dramatic au stuff i like doing to them, i really think atlus accidently made one of the most interesting dynamics from what was definitely just supposed to be a cameo. the second coming of the detective prince and he's so different from the first. from how he is you'd maybe expect akechi to not really care about the title or even be kind of bitter about being placed in the shadow of someone else he hasn't even met, but no,

he actively mirrors naoto. this sweater is the only canonically confirmed callback but i've sniffed out others, even down to the way they hold themselves.

like, clothing is one thing that could just be for the public image, but come on. it's part of his SELF image. his status as the second detective prince is vital to his view of himself.

and q2 all but proves he respects naoto deeply. and it all makes sense because he really is proud of being a detective, of course he'd be a fanboy of one of the most well-known young detectives out there. i can imagine he relates to the image he has of naoto a lot.

and it's not like it places him to live up to the achievements of naoto or anything, to a degree maybe yes, but not enough to the point that it's a burden. because he's piggybacking off of his legacy and blowing it out of the water. akechi is FAMOUS, much more than naoto was, i imagine. people would hear about the first detective prince and go, "who? i only know akechi." the title only benefits him, publicly and personally.

and it'd be so interesting if they met, because it's not like one is living in the others' shadow. akechi has to live up to naoto's reputation because he's the successor to naoto's legacy, placed on his shoulders by the force of the public. naoto has to live up to akechi's reputation because he's the new big thing, he's what everyone is interested now, he's who was chosen to succeed him. they live in each others' shadows. it's an ouroboros of reputation.

i just think they're neat. they'd get along too, i bet. they definitely got along in q2! they're the only ones in the whole world who can relate to each others' experiences of growing up as a detective prince. they're both big nerds. they're both competitive. PLEASE imagine placing these two in the same room together. it would be so INTERESTING.

and don't even get me STARTED on how Crow looks a hell of a lot like naoto's persona

Elemental affinities in Persona 4

Someone on Reddit asked about the correlation between elemental affinities and the characters. Kinda interesting to think about it. 🤔 I think Kanji and Yukiko have really straightforward ones but the rest of them I am winging.

Protag / Starter Izanagi: Strong to thunder, blocks dark, weak to wind Yosuke: Strong to wind, weak to thunder, gains fire resist

The protag's affinity with thunder and starting with Zio spells might be due to mythology? While Izanagi was not a god of thunder, there is a part in the myth where Izanami attacks him with a hoard of thunder gods and he wards them off. The dark resist might be because Izanagi gets out of the underworld and then purifies himself.

Yosuke's 2nd/3rd Personas being Susanoo might be where his wind affinity comes from. Stories about Susanoo are about the sea, but he is also considered a storm god. So, wind, I-I guess?

Yosuke's Persona being weak to thunder feels like a gameplay thing since you only have Izanagi when you fight his shadow. Though them being opposites could also reflect their relationship. Like how Yosuke is the one who wanted to throw Namatame into the TV, and the protagonist is the one who has to snap him out of it. Or how the protagonist is the leader, but Yosuke is the mouthpiece.

Chie: Strong to ice, weak to fire, gains light resist Yukiko: Strong to fire, weak to ice, gains dark resist

Yukiko's elemental affinities definitely correlate with folklore and mythology. On April 30th, she brings instant noodles to the school rooftop. Kitsune udon for her, and tanuki soba for Chie. The kitsune and tanuki are two figures who come up in folklore, and Yukiko appears to be "kitsune coded" while Chie is "tanuki coded".

Kitsune are correlated with the color red and also with fire. Additionally, her first Persona, Konohana Sakuya, is also a deity related to flowers and volcanoes. Her 2nd/3rd Personas are Amaterasu who is associated with the sun. Volcanoes and sun fit the fire image.

Chie and Yukiko being weak to one another matches their folklore counterparts. The kitsune and tanuki, or characters representing them, are usually pit against one another. I think the most famous tale is Danzaburo? It can also be seen as a reflection of their relationship, and how their shadows distorted their feelings for one another into jealousy.

(Yukiko being weak to ice is kinda funny given that her name means "child of snow".)

Kanji: Strong to thunder, weak to wind, gains physical resist

Kanji's 1st Persona is a thunder god, so his affinity with thunder is pretty straightforward, as with Yukiko and fire. Wind is Yosuke's element, so him being weak to wind might reflect how Yosuke is pretty good at winding Kanji up.

Teddie: Strong to ice, weak to thunder, gains wind/dark resist

I correlate Teddie having an ice affinity Persona with the origin of his 2nd and 3rd Personas. The word Kamuy (Kamui) is from Japanese Ainu mythology, and the Ainu are indigenous to snowy Hokkaido. A Kamuy is a being of reverence and it's believed they walk around on earth as bears! So this is really appropriate for Teddie.

I have 0 thoughts about Teddie being weak to thunder. Maybe shared with Yosuke cause they live together - "We ride together, we get hit by Maziodyne and die together"?

Teddie and Chie having the same element seems like a gameplay thing. Chie only gets the single target spells, never gets ice boost/amp, and is more of a physical DPS with ice as a bonus. It's like how in P3, Junpei learned single target fire magic while Koromaru got the single target and AoE fire magic.

Naoto: Strong to light/dark, gains fire resist

Naoto having light and dark seems more like a gameplay thing to cover the remaining elements not used by the cast. Her 1st Persona is Sukunabikona, who is associated with hot springs and their healing properties, and also booze (I think) rather than light/dark.

Her 2nd Persona is a prince of Japan's imperial line, and her 3rd Persona is a title for the Emperor. The imperial family are supposedly descendants of Amaterasu (Yukiko's 2nd/3rd Personas), and the Amaterasu in this game is a pyromaniac. Naoto gaining fire resist on her awakening from Bikona to Yamato might be because of the mythological ancestry.

(Also, for those of you who never played Persona 4 on PS2, Naoto originally didn't have all 4 elements... Only Mudo/Hama/Megido... Suffering...)

A VERY DESCRIPTIVE PROFILE OF YOUR MUSE. Repost with the information of your muse, including headcanons, etc. if you fail to achieve some of the facts, add some other of your own!

NAME: Shirogane Naoto ( 白鐘直斗 ).

NICKNAME: Detective Prince, Nao-chan (Teddie) immensely dislikes it but doesn't say anything, Kazuki (Naoto multiverse only).

TITLE(S): 2000 IQ Killjoy Detective (Arena).

AGE: For her canon verse, it depends where in the Persona timeline I put her, so she could be 13-22, but I mostly write her during or post P4, so 16-18, somewhere between grumpy teenager and not-quite-adult. I usually specify her age in other verses, such as the P5 AU where she's 18.

SPECIES: Human. She's a werewolf and a kitsune in some AUs, though.

SEX: Female.

NATIONALITY: Japanese.

INTERESTS: Solving crime, being a detective, building and modifying her weird gadgets, reading books that are related to mysteries and crime, origami, playing the piano, billiards, magic tricks, doing puzzles, putting together model kits.

PROFESSION: (Moderately famous high school) Private detective. One of the best ways to annoy her is to call her a cop.

BODY TYPE: She is short and skinny and underweight. You could lift her and throw her into the trash can with ease. Despite looking like a twig, she's a little more fit than you'd expect, but it's not much.

EYES: Depending on which official art you look at, it's blue, blue-gray or gray.

HAIR: Natural crayon blue. It's a little spike-y and messy in the back, and there are little tufts that stick out on the sides. It's also layered in the back. It's... not a look.

SKIN: Fair, maybe a little pale. She doesn't get enough sun.

POSTURE: Stands up straight, tends to place a hand on her hip or cross her arms. Brings a hand up to chin when she's in deep thought, sometimes paces around, taps her finger or spins a pen around. When impatient, she might tap her foot. Any time someone manages to fluster her, she tugs at her hat, pulling it down low to hide her embarrassment.

One may argue she's too stiff all the time, but Naoto pays too much attention to her posturing. She doesn't want her appearance to reflect badly on her family.

HEIGHT: 5'0" during P4, 5'3" afterwards so she's less of a tiny thing.

VOICE: Romi Park (Japanese) and way too many English voice actresses. Anyway, Anna Graves (P4 and first Arena game), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Anime), Valerie Arem (everything else).

Romi's Naoto, even with her deepest voice, isn't exactly the most masculine sounding, but she gets away with it due to her voicing a lot of male characters like Edward Elric and the white haired guy from Bleach.

Graves is the most iconic ENG voice, but she doesn't do a good job of selling Naoto's disguise. The laugh is good, though. McGlynn is the best one when it comes to selling the disguise but she also voices Kashiwagi, so do you really... want her to match with Kashiwagi. Do you. Arem... I did not pay attention much to but she's doing fine. I think.

Overall, I like Romi's Naoto the most and I keep her portrayal in mind, but I really do not care which voice you read my writing with.

SIGNATURE OUTFIT: More like signature accessory... her blue newsboy cap. In fact, it's rare to see her without it (hence why I need to get alt FCs to pretend they are Naoto without her hat). She is also defined by her inability to not have the color blue anywhere on her person, such as her stupid coat with the popped collar. Or her blue collared shirt and yellow necktie. Generally, if a detective would wear it, she'd wear it. No skirts or dresses, unless it's a disguise for a case.

SIGNIFICANT OTHER: Depends on verse.

COMPANIONS: The Investigation Team are her closest friends, although she is absolutely terrible at expressing it. Would get along with SEES and the Phantom Thieves, although she doesn't fully agree with the latter's methods.

ANTAGONISTS: Most Persona antagonists, especially those pesky gods trying to end the world.

STRENGTHS: Determined, courageous, observant, intelligent (most of the time), trustworthy, independent, caring.

WEAKNESSES: Stubborn, sarcastic, perfectionist, reckless, blunt, too independent, cynical, secretive, often neglects her health.

FRUITS: Apples because they are very convenient to eat, but she's not really picky.

DRINKS: Coffee (not decaf and black coffee is preferred), water, sometimes drinks tea, juice or soda. When she's older, she drinks alcoholic beverages, but it's definitely not frequent.

DRUGS: ABSOLUTELY NOT.

DRIVER’S LICENSE: Has a scooter license, plans to get a motorcycle one when she's old enough so she can ride her silly little bikes.
