I meant to draw this back when I did this other doll comic as another side, to show a doll that had been cared for instead of abused, but somehow I wasn't able to finish it till like 10 minutes ago, anyway I did it *confetti*

The entire ride “home,” I debated swerving Melissa Blackwell’s car off the road. For the time being, at least, I decided against it. Not because I didn’t want to see her dead, no, that was by far the preferable fate; I was curious. She had even taken care to strap me into her passenger seat, propping me up on a box and adjusting meticulously until my head stayed upright and I could see over the dashboard.
In return, I supposed I’d keep her alive for now.
But the road was bumpy enough on its own, jolting us both side to side. Though my eyes stayed locked forward, I felt Melissa glance over at me. I could almost feel her discomfort, both from my presence and from taking her eyes off the road for even a moment.
“I know that’s kind of your thing, but I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t kill me before I can get you home and try to help.” Her voice had a matronly quality to it. I had already decided to keep her alive for now, but my mouth, just a line of paint on the plastic of my face, could not open to reassure her. Even if it could, I would not.
To keep her on her toes, I decided I wouldn’t try to be reassuring. I could kill her if I really wanted to.
And I really do.
coming soon! Jenny is a 2.2k word short story about a cursed doll and the woman determined to heal her.
announcement date tba, but you can probably look forward to some time in June!
this was actually inspired by this super cool comic by artist @nardacci-does-art!

Ma Yansong and MAD Architects Present Major New Work at Milan Design Week 2021
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2021, Ma Yansong and MAD Architects unveil three new projects: the large-scale art installation “Freedom” within the Cortile d’Onore; “Meteor,” Ma’s interpretation of Dior’s iconic Medallion Chair, presented at Palazzo Citterio; and Gu Table, a collaboration with Sawaya & Moroni, building on their previous work together on the Gu Chair. Details on each project, which will be on view September 5 – 10, follow below:

Freedom
Invited by Interni magazine, MAD Architects presents an installation “Freedom” in the courtyard of the Università degli Studi di Milano. “Freedom” intends to create a symbol of our collective aspiration to restart and renew our lives and societies in the post-pandemic world. Ma explains the work as a metaphor of freedom, saying, “As human beings, if we are looking for freedom or connection with other people, we should go beyond physical or invisible space that limits us. We should go beyond the limitations.”

The large-scale installation consists of a seabird pointing its gaze towards the sky, preparing to soar into the air and take fight. It is comprised of metallic profiles created by Eurostands, covered with LED stripes provided by Ledvance that allow the installation to glow at night. Half sheltered and half exposed, under the courtyard’s arches, the installation recalls the uncertainty that people have faced throughout the pandemic.

Seabird represents freedom, borderless, and inclusiveness. It also appears in MAD’s project – the Fenix Museum of Migration. It is MAD’s first cultural project in Europe and will be completed in 2025.

Meteor
Invited by Dior Maison, Ma Yansong reinterprets one of Dior’s signature emblems: the Medallion Chair. The work, titled “Meteor,” is unveiled at Palazzo Citterio, on the occasion of Milan Design Week 2021.

Ma’s reimagining of the chair transports this iconic design into the future. Traveling through time, the chair is caught in motion. Recast in monochrome 3d-printed polyurethane, the work reflects ma’s artistic and architectural ethos, blending nature and structure to generate an emotional connection. This imaginative and innovative approach is also emblematic of MAD’s creative practice.

Across scale and typology, Ma transcends time by conceiving works imbued with spiritual resonance from nature. In so doing, Ma animates aesthetic reflections with philosophical explorations of time and space, probing new conceptual horizons to achieve a harmonious balance.

Gu Table

Strongly tied to the Gu Chair project presented in the 2018 Milan Design Week, Gu Table is a new collaboration with the Italian furniture brand Sawaya & Moroni. The design of Gu Table and Gu Chair draw reference from skeletal structures (“gu” translates to “bones” in Chinese).

Both works appear to be in constant movement, with sinuous, fluid limbs that act as an extension of the human body and natural landscape. The wood’s veining emphasizes its sculptural form. The components seamlessly blend together to shape it as a continuously growing organism.

Some ace pride design ideas that I dunno if people would get it or not? Like I'm aro-ace, these are positive, it's kinda like reclamation.
These kinds of terms have long been applied to people who reject sexual advances, as a way to try to shame them. I usually see these applied to afabs, because of the idea that women should be warm, accommodating, & subservient to men. The frigid bitch one is like "I'm not gonna fuck you, die mad about it. Bow down before the ice queen." The stuck-up prude one is like "Yes I do in fact think I'm better than you, considering that I don't try to pressure or shame people into having sex with me." The candytuft flower in the design symbolizes indifference.

I wanted to draw something fun for a friend of mine who's always sending cute packages for holidays. Meant to have it done by Valentine's Day, but considering her usual aesthetic & personality I feel like this sweet lovecore vibe works year-round.
