Equations Of The Five States Few Days Before Elections?

Political News In Hindi, There are not many days left in the voting process for the elections to be held in 5 states including Hindi heartland states. Voting will start from 7th of next month. About a month before the voting, the political parties release the list of candidates and the election campaign is at its peak, but this time all the five equations seem to be changing with each passing time. Dilemma Between Both The Parties In Rajasthan:

Rajasthan is the only state in India where the public changes its government every five years. At the beginning of this year, this trend seemed to be repeating again, but the infighting among BJP leaders, the anger of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and the pro-people policies of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have put Congress ahead. It seems to be coming out. The rift between Rajasthan BJP President Satish Punia, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia is well known. It is being said that while there is a tussle between two leaders in the Congress regarding the post of Chief Minister, on the other hand, there are 3-4 such leaders within Nahajapada who are now staking their claims in the Jan Sabha.

However, BJP was ignoring all these problems and giving competition to Congress, but the biggest increase in this problem happened when the news started coming that the BJP high command had appointed its senior most leader and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia in the state after the 2018 defeat. Out of the total 119 assembly seats, KCR's TRS had established its dominance in Telangana by winning 63 in the 2014 elections and a spectacular 88 in the 2018 elections, but this time the elections can increase the problems for KCR and his entire party. After the landslide victory in 2018, allegations of corruption started being made against KCR, his daughter K Kavita and many MLAs, the effect of which was seen in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election s held in the year 2020.

While TRS had won 99 seats out of 150 Municipal Corporation seats in 2016, in 2020, under the leadership of MP Bandi Sanjay, it won 44 seats, defeating TRS and the party led by its associate Asaduddin Owaisi. On the other hand, TRS had slipped from 99 to 56. BJP started establishing its roots in Telangana after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. From 2014 to 2020, he had performed well in the Lok Sabha and Assembly, which seemed to indicate that the BJP is moving towards winning another southern state of South India after Karnataka in the 2023 Assembly, but in 2023, the BJP won in Karnataka. Seeing such a huge anti-incumbency against BJP, according to political pundits and different media surveys, BJP was seen lagging behind Congress by a huge margin, but 4-time Chief Minister of the state Shivraj Singh Chouhan played his ace and shocked everyone. The name of that ace was Laadli Brahmin Yojana which worked to benefit 50% of the voting class i.e. women in the elections and to calm the opposition wave. Apart from this, within the last 6 months, CM Shivraj also held many big public meetings in which he also met women directly. However, while Shivraj is making moves to save his government and society, Congress on the other hand is seen sleeping. Just as BJP proved unsuccessful in Rajasthan as opposition, similarly Congress proved unsuccessful in Madhya Pradesh. The faster the elections were approaching, the faster the Congress was deviating from its vision. Congress failed to capitalize on the biggest protest in the state, due to which BJP got a chance to make a comeback. Now the current situation is that according to political pundits and recent surveys, Congress is ahead but the margin seems to be the same as the 2018 election results.

Bhupesh Kaka Flame Will Remain Intact In Chhattisgarh:

In Chhattisgarh, which is the second stronghold of BJP in Central India, Congress had defeated the 15-year-old Raman Singh government in the last elections. From 2003 to 2018, BJP had won 3 elections but due to anti-incumbency against Chief Minister Raman Singh and other cabinet ministers, BJP had to face historic defeat. Of the total 90 seats in the assembly, Congress had won 71 seats. Even after five years, BJP is not in a position to recover from this shameful defeat handed by Congress. In the last five years, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken Chhattisgarh to new heights of development with his policies, due to which his image has been established as a better Chief Minister, the answer to which BJP has not been able to find till now. Although CM Bhupesh Baghel has launched many flagship schemes, there is one such scheme which has made him the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh for the second consecutive time that is Godhan Nyay Yojana, under which the government will buy cow dung from farmers and cattle rearers at the rate of Rs 2 per kg. After purchase, women self-help group members will convert the cow dung into vermicompost and other products. This scheme had opened new employment opportunities for the unemployed poor living in both rural and urban areas. Not only this, the Bhupesh Baghel government was successful to a great extent in the Naxalite violence that had been going on in the state for years. After Chhattisgarh 2018, Congress had defeated BJP in the 2021 civic elections also. Now the current situation is that even the BJP high command is not seen making much effort in Chhattisgarh and the Congress is moving towards a one-sided victory in the various surveys that are coming out continuously.

Difficulties May Increase For Zoramthanga:

Mizoram has been a bone of contention between the Mizo National Front and the Congress ever since it was separated from Assam state in 1972 and attained full statehood in 1987. In the 8 assembly elections held since 1987, both the parties have formed their government in Mizoram 4 times each. Congress was considered very strong in Mizoram till the 2018 assembly elections, but due to anti-incumbency against party president and 4-time Chief Minister PU Lal Thanhawla and Mizo National Front coming together with BJP-led alliance, Congress got only 40 seats in the 2018 elections. Got 5 seats. Mizo National Front chief and current Chief Minister Zoramthanga took oath as the Chief Minister for the third time. However, Zoramthanga's situation seems to be worsening in 2023.

The violence that has been going on in Manipur for the last 5 months has increased the distance between Zoramthanga and NDA. In 2017, former IPS officer and Congress MP Lalduhoma had founded a new party, Zoram Nationalist Party, to end the duopoly of Congress and MNF in Mizoram Assembly.

Political News - In the 2018 elections, Lalduhoma's3 party had secured the second position, defeating Congress Com. According to political pundits and surveys, no party is seen getting absolute majority in this election, but there is a big increase in the vote share and seats of Congress and Zoram Nationalist Party, which can increase the problems of Zoramthanga. .

Every August, the township of Edison, New Jersey—where one in five residents is of Indian origin—holds a parade to celebrate India’s Independence Day. In 2022, a long line of floats rolled through the streets, decked out in images of Hindu deities and colorful advertisements for local businesses. People cheered from the sidelines or joined the cavalcade, dancing to pulsing Bollywood music. In the middle of the procession came another kind of vehicle: A wheel loader, which looks like a small bulldozer, rumbled along the route bearing an image of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi aloft in its bucket. For South Asian Muslims, the meaning of the addition was hard to miss. A few months earlier, during the month of Ramadan, Indian government officials had sent bulldozers into Delhi’s Muslim neighborhoods, where they damaged a mosque and leveled homes and storefronts. The Washington Post called the bulldozer “a polarizing symbol of state power under Narendra Modi,” whose ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is increasingly enacting a program of Hindu supremacy and Muslim subjugation. In the weeks after the parade, one Muslim resident of Edison, who is of Indian origin, told The New York Times that he understood the bulldozer much as Jews would a swastika or Black Americans would a Klansman’s hood. Its inclusion underscored the parade’s other nods to the ideology known as Hindutva, which seeks to transform India into an ethnonationalist Hindu state. The event’s grand marshal was the BJP’s national spokesperson, Sambit Patra, who flew in from India. Other invitees were affiliated with the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), the international arm of the Hindu nationalist paramilitary force Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), of which Modi is a longtime member.

On December 6th, 1992, a mob of 150,000 Hindus, many of whom were affiliated with the paramilitary group the RSS, gathered at the Babri Masjid, a centuries-old mosque that is one of the most contested sacred sites in the world. Over the preceding century, far-right Hindus had claimed that the mosque, located in the North Indian city of Ayodhya, was built not only upon the site where the Hindu deity Ram was born but atop the foundations of a demolished Hindu temple. The RSS and its affiliates had been campaigning to, in the words of a BJP minister, correct the “historical mistake” of the mosque’s existence, a task the mob completed that December afternoon. “They climbed on top of the domes and tombs,” one witness told NPR. “They were carrying hammers and these three-pronged spears from Hindu scripture. They started hacking at the mosque. By night, it was destroyed.” The demolition sparked riots that lasted months and killed an estimated 2,000 people across the country.

The destruction of the Babri Masjid was arguably Hindu nationalism’s greatest triumph to date. Since its establishment in 1925, the RSS—whose founders sought what one of them called a “military regeneration of the Hindus,” inspired by Mussolini’s Black Shirts and Nazi “race pride”—had been a marginal presence in India: Its members held no elected office, and it was temporarily designated a terrorist organization after one of its affiliates shot and killed Mohandas Gandhi in 1948. But the leveling of the Babri Masjid activated a virulently ethnonationalist base and paved the way for three decades of Hindutva ascendance. In 1998, the BJP formed a government for the first time; in 2014, it returned to power, winning a staggering 282 out of 543 seats in parliament and propelling Modi into India’s highest office. Since then, journalist Samanth Subramanian notes, all of the country’s governmental and civil society institutions “have been pressured to fall in line” with a Hindutva agenda—a phenomenon on full display in 2019, when the Supreme Court of India awarded the land where the Babri Masjid once stood to a government run by the very Hindu nationalists who illegally destroyed it. (Modi has since laid a foundation stone for a new Ram temple in Ayodhya, an event that a prominent RSS activist celebrated with a billboard in Times Square.) The Ayodhya verdict came in the same year that Modi stripped constitutional protections from residents of the Muslim-majority region of Kashmir and passed a law that creates a fast track to citizenship for non-Muslim immigrants, laying the groundwork for a religious test for Indian nationality. Under Modi, “the Hinduization of India is almost complete,” as journalist Yasmeen Serhan has written in The Atlantic.

To achieve its goals, the RSS has worked via a dense network of organizations that call themselves the “Sangh Parivar” (“joint family”) of Hindu nationalism. The BJP, which holds more seats in the Indian parliament than every other party combined, is the Sangh’s electoral face. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is the movement’s cultural wing, responsible for “Hinduizing” Indian society at the grassroots level. The Bajrang Dal is the project’s militant arm, which enforces Hindu supremacy through violence. Dozens of other organizations contribute money and platforms to the Sangh. The sheer number of groups affords the Sangh what human rights activist Pranay Somayajula has referred to as a “tactical politics of plausible deniability,” in which the many degrees of separation between the governing elements and their vigilante partners shields the former from backlash. This explains how, until 2018, the CIA could describe the VHP and Bajrang Dal as “militant religious organizations”—a designation that applies to non-electoral groups exerting political pressure—even as successive US governments have maintained a warm relationship with their parliamentary counterpart, the BJP.

The most extreme figures in the Hindu nationalist and Zionist movements were especially frank about the nature of their partnership: “Whether you call them Palestinians, Afghans, or Pakistanis, the root of the problem for Hindus and Jews is Islam,” Bajrang Dal affiliate Rohit Vyasmaan told The New York Times of his friendly relationship with Mike Guzofsky, a member of a violent militant group connected to the infamous Jewish supremacist Meir Kahane’s Kach Party.

Former President Obama in an upcoming interview with CNN says it is “appropriate” for President Biden to challenge foreign leaders on issues in their country that are “troubling.”

Obama gave his comments ahead of the official state visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been criticized for his government’s treatment of Muslims and a weakening of press freedoms.

“I do think that it is appropriate for the President of the United States, where he or she can, to uphold those principles and to challenge — whether behind closed doors or in public — trends that are troubling. And so, I’m less concerned about labels than I’m concerned about specific practices,” he told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

He added that protecting the rights of minority groups in India is essential.

“Part of my argument would be that if you do not protect the rights of ethnic minorities in India, then there is a strong possibility India at some point starts pulling apart. And we’ve seen what happens when you start getting those kinds of large internal conflicts,” he said.

In the full interview, which will air Thursday night, Obama said that part of the duties as President is to meet with leaders of other countries and their governments, even if they aren’t fully democratic.

“But you have to do business with them — because they’re important for national security reasons — there are a range of economic interests,” he said.

“If the president meets with Prime Minister Modi, then the protection of the Muslim minority in a majority-Hindu India, that’s something worth mentioning,” Obama added.

Biden, Obama’s former Vice President, made joint remarks with Modi at the White House on Thursday. The Indian prime minister did not respond to a question about the treatment of Muslims in India ahead of a bilateral meeting.

Modi, on his first state visit to the United States, will also give a joint address to Congress later Thursday, which will be boycotted by some Democrats.

INDIAN ELECTION COMMISSION ANNOUNCES DATES FOR GENERAL ELECTIONS

The Election Commission for India announced on Saturday the dates for the coming General Elections, to be conducted in seven phases beginning on April 19th.

According to reporting on the announcement, more than 970 million Indians are expected to vote in the coming elections at over 1 million polling stations across the country.

Speaking at a Press conference covering the election scheduling, Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, said elections will run through the 1st of June, with vote counting to be conducted on June 4th.

Acknowledging what he called "major challenges" posed by the elections, Kumar said the biggest concerns were with bribing, threats, misinformation and violations of the model code of conduct for elections.

Current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who belongs to the Hindu Nationalist BJP Party, seeks a third term, facing a challenge from an alliance of more than two dozen Parties belonging to the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), led by the opposition Indian National Congress Party who held power from the time of the country's liberation from the British empire in 1947, until the BJP's first National election win in May of 2014.

Modi and the BJP, for their part, have set a goal for winning 370 seats in the Indian Parliament, and 400 in total for the alliance it leads.

Previously, in the 2019 General Elections, Modi's BJP Party won 303 out of 543 seats in the lower house of Parliament, its best performance since the Party's formation in 1980.
