Ok y’all, stupid brain rot Hyperfixation time but we gotta talk about Orochimaru and Mitsuki Relationship.

The Boruto series could have easily gone the route of “I hate my creator, fuck my parent, I’ll never be like them.” Sort of route for Mitsuki. It would make sense, he’s a Leaf Village Shinobi and loyal to the leaf and Orochimaru doesn’t give a shit about the leaf.

But they didn’t…well not entirely.

Instead, they gave us a oddly wholesome relationship with Mitsuki and Orochimaru, where Orochimaru has been shown in the newest Novel and Newest game, to show care for Mitsuki (even concern in the book at the idea that Mitsuki could be in danger) and buying Mitsuki a video game console just because it “looked interesting” (Mitsuki had actually bought a copy already and ended up letting Sarada have it) and I’m honestly really pleased to see this sort of relationship explored, though its unlikey for now as they enjoy pushing Mitsuki aside.

MITSUKI has shown that he respects his parent greatly, even going as far as to use their likeness as a Avatar in a Video Game, because they look up to them and it “makes him happy” which I don’t know about you, but that’s super sweet. Orochimaru made Mitsuki to be different than them, Orochimaru could of easily made Mitsuki a Evil Clone to infiltrate the village and destroy it from the inside but with the one shot and other interactions we have seen, Orochimaru seems to genuinely want Mitsuki to live the life they couldn’t, and that includes having a active parent in his life because remember, Orochimarus parents died when they were very young.

Who knows, but I hope the Manga explores Orochimarus feelings about Mitsuki, and their relationship as a whole, cause it’s super interesting and sweet.

I also have some thoughts about whether or not Mitsuki is related to Toreni via DNA so…I’ll have to write that down sometime 👀

Drawings + Rants + Headcanons/Naruto AU

i finally had some time to draw my versions of tean seven (minus kakashi). im gonna detail more of my AU later in the post but here are the designs and some notes.

For sasuke, in one of my other posts i had the theory that sasuke keeps his hair short to avoid resembling itachi, and thats why it is longer in time skip, because he is coming to terms with his trauma and still loves itachi. I also gave him similar creases to itachi, just from stress.

tbh im not too sure about this naruto design…but at least he isnt balding like before💀.

for sakura, i actually really like her older design, so i just drew her working. she would have her hair up and i gave her sakura blossom hair pins and eyeshadow.

also i havent drawn in forever so..thats why its messy.

(the rest of this is me rambling on..)

Now for changes i made to the story:

1. Narusasu endgame (yk im a stan)

I would have both of them be joint hokages, so technically both are the 7th. I know Sasuke is referred to as the shadow hokage, but that doesn’t really entail anything. I think it’s important because Sasuke would know just how important reform is for the village and shinobi system, but since people are still suspicious of Uchihas, Naruto would be the face. This fulfills Naruto’s dream, which when you really think about it, his dream was just to be loved, not really to be a politician. Naruto has seen how unfair and corrupt their society is, so he would completely work with Sasuke to make sure things like Danzo and Hiruzen’s corruption, child soldiers, hyuuga slavery and the “Uchiha Incident” dont happen again. I could explain more of this in a later post.

2. I would have Hinata look up to Sakura more, instead of Naruto.

I think it makes a bit more sense, Sakura is brave, outspoken and independent, just like Hinata wants to be. I would have Sakura be her first friend, since she can’t stand to see people be excluded or alone. That leads me into changes I would make for Sakura’s story.

3. Sakura. In the original, I would keep her kind of bratty attitude until things get serious in the Zabuza arc. Seeing her close friends so close to death, while not being able to help much would challenge her to become a protector. This also gives motivation for her to learn healing and medicine when Tsunade comes around. Sakura would be the “rock” or “glue” of team seven, which makes sense because she is the only one of them that came from a stable home.

Sakura initially resents Sasuke for betraying the team, but seeing how dedicated Naruto is to saving him, she decides its worth it to help bring him back. Besides if she didn’t, naruto would just endager himself trying.

4. Sasuke. I would have Sasuke after he realizes Itachi was manipulated into a genocide to protect the village, still go through him “i’m gonna destroy the village” phase, but when Naruto defeats him, they make a promise to change things, so no one else will have to suffer like that. I would also show more of the psychological effects of witnessing Itachi’s murders. One of my headcanons is that he’s pretty thin, since trauma survivors tend to have chronic stomach pains. He’s probably pretty paranoid about others betraying him, so he does it to them first (probably why he pushes naruto away so much). Sasuke is also probably still ostracized or “othered” for being an uchiha, since that is what the village is told about them. People still pity him, but dont come near him.

5. Naruto. 😭I actually made up a whole theory on why Hiruzen didn’t take great care of naruto, bc to me it just doesn’t make sense. it’s kinda a dumb theory and doesn’t rlly have anything to do with canon, but- what if Minato wanted to expose the corruption in the hidden leaf and get rid of the foundation, so as a sort of revenge, or just general distaste for Minato, Hiruzen doesn’t really provide for Naruto. 🤷‍♀️idk. A change I would make is to have naruto mature more to match his age. Like ofc it makes sense for him to act out for attention esp when he was younger, but i feel like past shippuden..he didn’t really mature at all? maybe thats just me. I’ll probably have more stuff to add for him, i’ll think of it later or put it in my headcanons post.

I wonder if the names Hashirama (pillar). Tobirama (door), Kawarama (space between two roof tiles), and Itama (spaces between two slats on a duckboard) are supposed to be some kind of play on words because of the Senjus’ Wood Release. However, I read that it was originally supposed to be a difficult jutsu, not a Kekkei Genkai and it was changed later. Itama is probably referring to the warring period they grew up in since it refers to duckboards specifically. But I think it’s interesting that all of them have to do with building/construction. Even though Hashirama is the “pillar” and represents the beginning of Konoha, his brothers are also “building blocks”. Tobirama is obviously the Second Hokage, but Kawarama and Itama also had a profound effect on Hashirama and his vision for Konoha.

my theory on the birth order of the kids of Naruto and why it’s probably not what you think it is:

So something I've thought about a lot recently is the actual birth order of the kids in Naruto.

We don't have years for any of their birthdays, just the actual dates, so a lot of people, naturally, assume that it likely goes January to December in order when it comes to the ages of the kids and that they were all born within the same calendar year. Out of the rookie 9, this would make Shino the oldest and Hinata the youngest, with their birthdays being in January and December, respectively. This would make sense, theoretically, if you don’t really think about it too much. But, after thinking about it, I realized it's actually literally impossible for that to be the case if they all graduated the academy at the age of 12 unless their graduation took place sometime between the 27th of December and the 23rd of January.

But that is not when graduation takes place in most places in real life, and I can’t really see graduation taking place at that time in the Naruto world either. If we were to base this one when graduation takes place in Japan in real life, it would take place in late March. If we go with this timeline and the assumption that all of the rookie 9 were born in the same calendar year then Shino and likely Sakura would be 13 at the time of graduation.

And yet all of them are canonically listed as graduating at the age of 12. While this could always be an oversight and one of those ‘this detail doesn’t really matter’ type situations, I don’t think it is. Because if you do follow the timeline of an actual graduation in Japan and also consider the fact that, in any class in a normal school anywhere in real life, not every kid in the same grade is born within the same calendar year, it’s actually completely possible for them to have all graduated at the age of 12.

Children within the same school year are usually born within a year of one another, but not the calendar year. It’s different everywhere, but the cut off date is usually shortly before a new school year begins in that particular location.

The school year in Japan begins in April, so any children born before April would typically be in the previous year’s class. If school their very first year started in April then Shino and Sakura would have been a grade above the others due to being born before the cut off date of the previous year. Since that is not the case, I have to assume that, instead, they were born shortly before the cut off date for the class they are in.

Sakura’s birthday is March 28th, so it is possible for her to have just turned 12 at the time of graduation, making her the youngest of the rookie 9, not Hinata.

Choji is born in May, so he would be too young to be in the previous class but be among the oldest kids in his class, making him the oldest of the rookie 9, not Shino.

Which would make the age order:

Choji, Kiba, Sasuke, Shikamaru, Ino, Naruto, Hinata, Shino, Sakura.

and not:

Shino, Sakura, Choji, Kiba, Sasuke, Shikamaru, Ino, Naruto, Hinata.

like most people tend to assume.

The only characters out of the rookie 9 who would really be affected by this are Shino and Sakura, but, as someone who consumes a lot of content with Shino, since he’s my favorite, it’s something I have thought about a lot because I see people quite often refer to him being the oldest. While this could still be true if there is actually a case of ‘not putting much thought into it’ taking place here, I see no reason to think it is given this theory which I have had for a long time.

While none of the rest of the rookie 9 are exactly affected by this, several other characters are. Gaara’s birthday is technically first chronologically, being January 19th, several days before Shino’s. This, if we went back to assuming their ages were in order when it came to the calendar year, would make him the oldest out of the kids their age (so, leaving out Team Guy and Kankurou and Temari). This would also set him as being 13 when we meet him, not 12. But he is also specified to be 12. But if he is also born the year after most of the others alongside Shino and Sakura, then he would be 12 when we meet him during the Chunin exams which start on July 1st.

In regards to even more characters who are affected by this, we have Team Guy. They are all supposed to be 13 when we meet them and are all also listed as graduating the academy at the age of 12. Like Sakura, Tenten’s birthday is in March. If we went with the ‘everyone in one class is born in the same calendar year’ theory here, their birth order would be Tenten, Neji, Lee. If this was the case then Tenten would have to be 14 when we meet her, rather than 13. The only way she could be 13 is if she was born in the next year, which would make her younger than Gaara and Shino, which is obviously not the case.

If we went with the timeline that makes sense for them to graduate at 12, it would be Neji, Lee, Tenten. Tenten, like Sakura, would turn 12 shortly before her graduation. Neji would turn 14 during the Chunin exams, but, given his birthday, that would be the case regardless.

I’ve seen people talk about the timeline of Naruto and also come to the conclusion that graduation takes place in March just like in real life Japanese schools, but the majority of them never seem to consider what this means for the characters’ graduation ages. I’ve only seen one person ever have this same theory about the kids’ birth order before, but it was on a Sakura stan twitter account and didn’t seem to get much attention. I doubt this will either, but I needed to make my thoughts on this known. I tend to get obsessed with little details like this especially when it affects my favorite characters, so I just wanted other people to hear this theory.

If you have any details or thoughts that either add to or even poke holes in this theory, feel free to share, but I just thought it was very interesting and wanted to share and also see if anyone agrees with me now after having all of this pointed out like this!

How was Kusagakure able to stay in business?

Here's what Narutopedia DE has to say: Kusagakure (草隔れ, Kusagakure no Sato, literally "The Village Hidden in the Grass") is located in the Grass Realm. The shinobi from this village specialize in jutsus that can affect the flora and fauna. Referring to the shinobi who came from Kusagakure, it can be assumed that this village is much less peaceful. More from Narutopedia EN: Kusagakure is skilled in diplomacy, a trait they constantly use to read the movements of other countries and stay one step ahead of them. They also analyse techniques from other villages in a similar manner. Because of these principles, others find it hard to read the shinobi from this village's attitudes. Although it has never been named, the country Kusagakure is located in has been shown on several occasions. The country is rich with forests, some consisting of giant mushrooms or bamboo. It also seems to have many rivers and deep ravines.

Imperialism is a thing in the shinobi world, and the grass realm was raided by Iwagakure. Despite that, it seems to be quite industrialized. I was wondering how? Here's my theory. Before the grass realm had its rich forests and mushrooms, it was surrounded by.. well.. grasslands. The ability of Kusa ninja to change the flora and fauna has made it possible to turn those badlands into rich forests with huge mushrooms. But aside from creating forestlands, Kusagakure found another way to utilize their speciality: Grain cultivation and agriculture.

Kusagakure is the biggest exporter of grains (except rice, that's Kiri) and vegetables. They can create the best growing conditions for these products. Also, the flowershop that Ino's family owns? The flowers they sell are imported from Kusagakure.

Based on TBV’s recent chapter release and its cliffhanger and going back to some Naruto chapters’ panels, it’s all starting to come together for Himawari’s arc in later chapters!

If you think about it, Kushina was attempted kidnapping being an Uzumaki for her immense chakra,

Hinata also being attempted kidnap being a Hyuga for her byakugan,

And the Akutsuki going after Naruto for being one of the jinchurikis.

It’s one thing that it’s already established on Himawari awakening her byakugan from “The Day Naruto Becomes Hokage” OVA/manga oneshot but now a possibility she may be the next jinchuriki as well based on what Jura stated. In other words for her being a half Hyuga and a quarter Uzumaki (same applies for Boruto but that’s besides the point) there’s a major chance she may be kidnapped which we’ll have to wait another month to find out more and see; fortunately that it’ll launch on the 18th 👍🏾

i figured out how yamato got his name!

so this is a panel from chapter 281 and its where sai is assigned on team seven and he's given his mission from danzo

there's a paper/poster glued to the column with 'yamato works' written on it.

so it can be assumed that this is a ROOT location

andyou can see in the kakashi anbu filler arc the root base where the sandaime takes yamato out of ROOT

the difference is uncanny, its probably the same location, that or danzo has a favored base layout

Naruto What Ifs #1:

What if Kakashi helped Itachi before the Uchiha Massacre happened?

Welcome to my new series in which I write about my favorite Naruto theories. I most likely have undiagnosed ADHD so I can’t promise consistency but these theories will be DAMN GOOD, so buckle in, send me your theories, and let’s get into it.

Where in the timeline are we?

Post Shisui’s death, pre-Uchiha massacre. Itachi is still a subordinate of Kakashi, and later still gets promoted to ANBU captain. I will explain why in this post.

How does this play out?

We see the potential for a friendship between Kakashi and Itachi when Kakashi takes Itachi under his wing in the ANBU and trains him. Kakashi shows a level of concern for Itachi (questioning Lord Third whether or not he’s too young for the ANBU), and Itachi shows a level of admiration for Kakashi as he learns under him.

After Shisui’s death, Itachi withdraws into himself and Kakashi notices. He’s very perceptive, and Itachi is usually very reticent, so when he’s contemplating Shisui’s dying wish to protect the village and the Uchiha name with his newly bequeathed eyes and asks Kakashi about his own entrusted Sharingan (given by Obito), Kakashi instantly sees through Itachi’s question and linked it to Shisui’s death instantly.

Kakashi is intelligent, and so of course he would put it together. He asks Itachi if everything is okay. When Itachi closes off and just lies and says “I’m fine”, that’s where this theory diverges from canon.

I think Kakashi left it at that because he was still very much wallowing in his own trauma, and couldn’t devote much energy to it. Understandable, no blame intended.

BUT let’s say for the sake of this theory that Kakashi understood Itachi, after losing his best friend, was most certainly not fine, and decided to take it upon himself to help him because he too had lost multiple best friends, so he understood Itachi completely. Not to mention, Shisui’s official cause of death was suicide, which is the exact way Sakumo died. Kakashi at this point in the timeline is the only person who could have understood Itachi. It’s my headcanon that had they communicated with each other more and grown closer, they would have had a very strong and unbreakable friendship. They have uncanny similarities in my opinion.

So, Kakashi follows Itachi around/snoops around for information on him.

(I also like to think that he would have known Shisui pretty well for a few years at least, they were both ANBU when Shisui died, so I believe Kakashi knew his character enough to know there was something strange about his suicide. This would have also pushed him to look into the issue more.)

He knows at this point that the Uchiha are under suspicion because of his surveillance shifts. It wouldn’t be much of a stretch to say that he could put two and two together and understand that Itachi and Shisui are at the epicenter of the conflict between the Leaf and the Uchiha. His uncertainty about Itachi’s initiation into the ANBU when he was just 11 years old is enough for me to come to the conclusion that Kakashi knew Itachi’s premature promotion was partly political.

To further this, Kakashi himself was promoted so quickly and graduated early partly because they needed more fighters for the war. Yes, he was talented, but the second Hokage created the academy to keep children out of war, yet pre-mature graduation was a loophole the Leaf used when shinobi were needed. This was the case for Itachi as well. He was promoted prematurely in a time of peace, which in my head, should have set off alarm bells in Kakashi’s head.

So, with all of that background knowledge in Kakashi’s mind, when Itachi is promoted to ANBU captain at age thirteen, not long after Shisui’s death, ding ding ding, something is very wrong.

There’s evidence that he had the feeling something was wrong. He warned Itachi not to get involved with the Leaf’s politics. He knew to some degree that Itachi was being positioned for a singular purpose.

So, what if he’d have looked into it more of his own volition? Like he did when he discovered Tenzo, the Wood Style user?

Hiruzen has him walk into the Uchiha compound, he gets mega-bad vibes, feels the need to do something about it. How does he find out?

Well, for one, if he and Itachi had opened up more to each other and formed a working kinship, Itachi could have confided in him. If this happened, I have no doubt Kakashi would have helped him. Especially since he was already aware of Danzo’s tendency to scheme and manipulate (as he’d tried to do to turn Kakashi against Hiruzen and assasinate him after Minato’s death, then also have Kakashi killed by Tenzo). He would have instantly been like “oh? Danzo says killing the clan is the only way to peace? Nope, not on my watch.” And he could have helped Itachi find a peaceful way to avoid the coup then and there. After all of his loss, Kakashi always found a better way and ignored authority when he found it necessary. Also, the second Itachi would have told Kakashi that Shisui died by Danzo’s orders, Kakashi would have no doubt been pissed off and sought justice. Absolutely. Damn that would be so cool to see in a what if episode.

If Itachi hadn’t confided in him, maybe Kakashi, after confessing worry to the Hokage about Itachi, would have learned the information through Hiruzen. Hiruzen granted Shisui autonomy to try and solve the issue, and he gave Kakashi classified information about Wood Style and Orochimaru’s experiments (establishing monumental trust in Kakashi) so I have no doubt he would have told Kakashi in hopes that he could have helped Itachi. At that point, after Kakashi’s persuasion, he could have stripped Danzo of his positions of power before he could order Itachi’s assassination mission.

Kakashi could have been present in negotiation meetings with Fugaku, Lord Third, and Itachi, and using his connection to Obito, could have pleaded the case of honoring his dying wish to protect the village. Maybe he could have even offered his Sharingan back as a way of showing Fugaku respect for the Uchiha.

This has been on my mind for a while. I’m even tempted to write a fic on this. If you made it this far, thank you, I hope you enjoyed. I’ll be back with more theories <3

I just realized can an Otsutsuki (Boruto) achieve sage mode? 👀

The reason I was thinking about this was because of Boruto potentially training with Kashin Koji, but 80-100% of his DNA is Momoshiki Otsutsuki.

In the anime-canon of Naruto Shippuden, we see Hagoromo Otsutsuki achieve toad sage mode & it’s implied he was hanging out with the mount Myoboku toads to achieve said sage mode! 🐸

Though would Boruto be considered more directly Otsutsuki than Hagoromo? I feel like it would be about the same amount of Otsutsuki DNA. 🧬

I’m just rambling at this point, but I think this does make it possible for Boruto to achieve toad sage mode by training with Kashin Koji during or after the time skip! 🐸

I have a theory/hc that the team numbers are like, preformulated matchups. For instance, team 10 is the inoshikacho formula. Maybe team 7 is always an Uchiha, an Uzumaki, and a clanless ninja/filler spot. Team 8 could always be an Inuzuka, a Hyuga, and an Aburame. The reason why we don't ever see the smaller team numbers could be because their formulas include clans that aren't around anymore, like the Uchiha, Uzumaki, or the Senju.

Ok second post about Mitsuki in 24hrs or so but. Wanted to clear my thoughts about Mitsuki and Toreni and whether or not they are related or not.

Right now I have two “Theories” that are possible regarding Mitsuki and Toreni.

1) He is Torenis son as well as Orochimarus, the reasoning behind him getting affected by Eida is due to Toreni either just not being like other Otosuki as he’s said in the movie, or Toreni/Orochimaru did something to Mitsuki to “Seal” the Otosuki part of him except for when he uses Sage Mode (Which is why Orochimaru has been against him using it, not just because it fucks his body up and why other Otosuki have been quick to take Mitsuki out in any combat situation, like literally if you look in the Movie and in Boruto, you can see the Otosuki threat or other threat who are familiar with them, quickly try to dispatch Mitsuki)

2) That he IS in fact, Orochimaru and Kabutos son but like how Kabuto absorbed Orochimarus DNA to gain their powers, Orochimaru had Mitsuki body Absorb Torenis DNA Somehow. I would prefer this but I mean I might be a little biased. Same thing applies for how Mitsuki is affected by Eida only it was Orochimaru who did it. Considering Otosuki are well…seen as dangers if he showed signs of being one (Especially now that Kawaki is determined to kill them all) he could be put down, or at least forced to leave and live in hiding.

And if you’re wondering how….biologically that could work Mitsuki is a test tube baby so no one needed to get pregnant just DNA was needed to make him into a tube baby plus I am…almost positive if Orochimaru wanted to they could change their Sex. If they can turn into a giant snake monster that shoots little snakes out of their body I’m sure they can give themself a Snussy since technically two AMAB genetics can’t make a baby but I mean it’s a anime so I doubt they care about how realistic they are with their characters.

Sasuke’s Hair

Throughout OG and NS, I always thought sasuke’s hair was kinda weird. Beyond the normal “spiky anime hair”, to me it looks like it was hastily hacked off in the back.

then I noticed

sasuke and itachi look exactly alike. so maybe sasuke cuts it everytime it gets longer, to avoid looking just like itachi. and yeah ik sasuke’s hair was like that when he was younger, but it was probably just an awkward length or something.

One thing that I realized when re-reading Naruto is how it doesn’t actually make a lot of sense how the Tobirama fandom (atleast on tumblr) seems to prefer the theory that tbrm is an albino over the one that his mother had white hair. I also accepted this (because it isn’t really that important to me), but when I saw Itama, I realized that this doesn’t make any sense, since Itama seems to have some hair parts from his father (butsuma) and his other hair half from his mother’s hair.
