Having Feelings For Pein from Naruto-
Getting forced into the Akatsuki, with S-ranked criminals, against your will giving your life to a cause you still can’t comprehend was one unfortunate thing, but falling in love with the leader was a total nightmare!
-Now this is Pein we are talking about, the leader of a world-class criminal organization he spells ‘fear’ and ‘No- nonsense’ and it’s absolutely a mess.
-You can’t remember the last time you ever had such incomprehensive feelings for anyone.
-It’s a complete heck of a rollercoaster always falling down, there was not a single up in this trap you dug yourself.
-His charismatic way of pursuing his goals, which was completely wrong in your opinion but it was a hat’s of for how ambitious a person could be, and idealistic.
-You could only remember the two times you had spoken to him since you gained these foreign feelings and oh dear, you did not look up at him once, knowing you would stutter.
-There was no opening for such unprofessional talks and no way you could be with him.
-Unfortunately, ever since your keen interest you began trying to scratch his exterior with subtle hints or insight to his personality.
-Things, you wanted to understand he was so close but yet so far.
-it was frustrating, exhausting, and saddening.
Pein---
-The Akatsuki needed another S-ranked criminal and found you, the (Kage’s) first in command.
-As formidable and deadly as you could be there was one thing that hindered the way you were a Shinobi to be kind and forgiving never showing any animosity towards anyone.
-With a deep affinity to sense the feelings of someone without any words.
-He found you to be as human as possible, your humanity in such a painful world was admirable and disapproving to the leader.
-The only times he distinctively remembers you fighting with what he would call hate was when the Akatsuki members were in danger.
-recently he found you to be too ‘naive’
-” Did you ever lose someone precious to you?”
-The question caught you off guard and dumbfounded.
-” We don’t have the curse of hatred, and to fight against different villages for land, and resources, my family lived in the outskirts when one day I discovered my whole family to be massacred, I felt.... sad.”
“But... If I give up on myself and fall to sadness... I want to help people.”
-His eyes widened, all those words reminded him of so much, all at once,
- “You can’t possibly believe this world can ever understand your suffering”
- “This overwhelming sadness which follows me, and to everyone who has lost their loved ones, I got to know that day that even innocent people who have nothing to do... with war... gets their lives robbed.”
- It was since that day, Pein’s cold exterior seemed to have melt down, it was incredibly subtle.
- “Thank you for listening”
- Maybe something had changed pondering deep over you.

If requests are open, then: Gaara has chosen a bride, but during their engagement she refuses to capitulate to Suna’s council and their desires to have her on their side instead of Gaara’s. So, in order to break trust/break them apart (the details are obvs your choice), a councilman or two sends a shinobi to sexually assault her.
Fortunately, Gaara discovers the man in time to save you.
With this prompt, could you write something for it? Hurt/confort, lemons (jfc tumblr just knock it off with the gag order already), dark/horror, your choice!
PRECIOUS
Pairing: Gaara x Reader
CW: Attempted sexual assault, light NSFW
Length:  4.6k+
A/N: I absolutely hate how this came out, but I hope it works for you and is what you were expecting!
Tumblr media
You know that feeling you have when you’re younger? You have the adults in your life. They always seem to know exactly what to say, what to do. And you never truly have to worry, because if you don’t have the answer, there’s always someone that does.
Right and wrong. It’s all so black and white, and you’re lucky because the adults in your life always make the upstanding choices.
At least, that’s what you think.
And then you grow up. Little by little, you become older and wise enough to realize the more you think you know, the less you do.
And maybe it’s something big or something small when you first start to lose your faith in those in authority. But there’s always a moment when it clicks; the people in authority know no more than you do, they’re not morally honorable at all. They just have the power.
You’d been a ninja your whole life, but as you got older, you opted to step into a more political role for your village. You’d been around long enough to see how corrupt the ninja system was as a whole, and you had wanted to change it from the inside out.
You thought you’d already had your moment, multiple moments, even, that showed you just how amoral and deceitful the powers that be were.
You had no idea how bad they truly could get.
“So, I hope you understand what we’re asking. Your compliance is… let’s just say, in your best interest.”
Silence ensued. Sunagakure, like the other villages, had a system of checks and balances. Gaara was the Kazekage, leader of the village, but that didn’t mean he had this all consuming power. The Suna Council consisted of twelve members, all in place to make sure the Kazekage is doing what they should and that all decisions were made in the villages best interest.
The council and the Kazekage were supposed to be working together for the village, to make things, better, to help the people. The council was supposed to be supporting the Kazekage as the leader.
So, in a way, you almost couldn’t believe they would ask you this. Only almost. . The Sand Village had never had a reputation of being above reproach. Why, it was just a few years ago when they had partnered with the Sound Village to overthrow the Leaf Village, killing the Hokage in the process. Gaara had only been a child then, but the Suna Council that had agreed with the plot then was the same council that now demanded you betray your husband to be.
They wanted you in their ranks. The direction that Gaara was ready to lead Suna in wasn’t a direction the elders were ready for it to go.
It was new and completely different from anything they’d seen before. But Gaara was insistent that Suna was going to enter an era of peace and perseverance. They would be a village that would fight for the good of the world, not solely their own interests. Suna as a village would no longer be number one. People would be.
And so they expected you to play a secret agent for them. They would give you orders, and then, as Gaara’s wife to be, you would manipulate him into their desires, make him think they were his own. You would play him as if he were a puppet on your strings.
Maybe it was because you had been a diplomat before moving to the Sand for Gaara. They thought because you were a politician, that you would understand their requests and be bought off so easily. It was the very reason you’d taken the position; the way village politics worked needed to change.
The twelve council members stared at you steadily and expectantly. They expected your concurrence, couldn’t imagine that there would be any thought of going against their wishes. They’d gone so long getting exactly what they wanted.
All good things must come to an end.
There were a couple ways you could have played this. Agreed and then told Gaara what they’d asked. That they were demanding for you to work Gaara behind the scenes and manipulate him to their will. You could have agreed, even. Accepted their offers of power and betrayed your betrothed.
You had endless options, but you would take none of them.
Gaara was the love of your life, going to be your husband, and you would present as a strong front. You would let there be no question of where your loyalty was.
Pushing back your chair, you stood, smacking your hands down on the tables, a sudden, loud move that made the old hags jolt. You bit back a satisfied smirk; good. You wanted to scare them, let them know *exactly where they stood with you.
“How dare you?” You demanded from them, meeting each member’s eye slowly and purposefully, wanting them to understand just how badly they had screwed up by trying to turn you against Gaara.
“I don’t know how things worked back in your days, but Gaara becoming Kazekage has reigned in a new era of peace and restitution for the Sand. Things will no longer be the way you allowed it to for so long, full of evil and sneakiness and cowardice. You’re going to learn soon enough; Suna has no more need for the ways of the old world.” You pushed off the table, scowling in disgust.
“How dare you call yourselves leaders while you attempt to turn the Kazekage’s betrothed into a traitor.” Lips pursed, you looked over them all one more time, doing nothing to hide the contempt in your gaze. “The Kazekage is not going to be pleased when he hears about this.”
With that, you turned on your heel, stomping out of the room, letting the door slam closed behind you.
Out of the room now, away from their gaze, you leaned against the other side of the door, feeling the way your heart raced erratically. You couldn’t believe you’d talked like that to the Suna Council.
You’d never been meek, really. Confrontation just wasn’t your favorite thing, and besides this, you respected your elders and village leaders greatly, not discounting their wisdom or experience just because of different times. You’d even admired the council up until this moment.
But no amount of reverence or admiration would ever surpass what you felt for Gaara. You loved him more than anything or anyone, and you would always be on his side no matter what. There was nothing and no one that could make you falter or second guess being by his side.
Heading back to your apartment, you wished not for the first time you shared it with Gaara. You and Gaara didn’t live together yet; he wasn’t exactly traditional, but he wanted to keep up the appearance of it. He didn’t want to move in together until the two of you were officially married, and that day was coming up soon. You could wait just a little longer until you got to wake up to his face every morning.
Nothing sounded more blissful.
It had been a diplomacy mission that had brought you from your home in Iwagakure to Suna for the very first time.
Love at first sight wasn’t necessarily something you believed in, but the first time you laid eyes on Gaara, you knew there was something special in him. You’d heard the stories and the rumors your whole life, the demonic reincarnation of the one tailed beast that killed everything in his path to the reformed and revered youngest Kage in history.
Gaara had been nothing like you expected.
He had the kindest eyes you’d ever seen. At a young seventeen years old, his eyes held stories of a hundred lifetimes. He was quiet, observant. He took in everything and everyone around him, considering their every move and word before responding himself. When he spoke, it was with a shared respect and understanding of those who he was addressing.
You’d bowed respectfully when you met, addressing him, of course, as Kazekage. When you’d straightened, his eyes on you had you blushing; you felt bare under his gaze.
A week. You were only in Suna one week, and that was all it took for you to fall for Gaara. From the first late night the two of you spent negotiating and discussing the particulars of the alliance between your villages, you got to know Gaara more than you’d ever imagined you would.
And Gaara was just as sprung. From your easy smile to the quickness of your thoughts to the passion in which you spoke, he’d never met anyone like you.
You were a marvel to Gaara, and he didn’t let you leave without letting you know.
You were surprised in all honesty. You hadn’t been able to read whether or not he was as interested in you as you were in him, but either way, you wouldn’t have expected a person like Gaara to be so forward.
He was modest and reverent the night before you were to go back to your village when he told you he’d like you to return soon. He left no room for you to wonder what he meant, instantly letting you know that it was because he was enamoured with you, and he had every intention in pursuing you romantically if you would let him.
Of course you would.
It was one and a half years of dating before you’d opted to give up your position in your village to move to the Sand. Gaara didn’t ask you to, never would have dreamed of making you choose between him and your job, but it was the obvious choice to you.
You loved Gaara irrevocably, and he was Kazekage. He couldn’t leave his village, so you would go to him.
It was only a year after that when Gaara asked you to marry him in a way that was so him. It was quiet and private and romantic as hell.
He’d asked you to go with him for a quiet walk to the green house, just about the only place in Suna that had any plants. It was both of your favorite places, so of course you agreed.
When you’d arrived, the green house was alight with fairy lights strung from every corner. Petals from various flowers littered the floor walkway down to an arc of ivy that definitely hadn’t been there before.
Looking at Gaara, your mouth hung agape in disbelief and confusion. He gave you a soft smile, taking your hand and leading you down the walkway. By the time you got to the ivory arc, you had tears overflowing.
“Yes!” You were crying before he even got down on one knee.
Gaara had tried to shoosh you with a small laugh, but you weren’t having it, throwing your arms around him and peppering him with kisses before he could get a word in.
“You have to let me ask you. I have a speech.” He tried to tell you, but gave up as you continued to kiss him, laughing and kissing you back. He pulled a rock carved in the shape of a heart. Lifting the lid, it revealed the beautiful ring he had made for you.
He had to hold you still so he could slip the ring on your finger before kissing your hand.
“I love you,” He told you, those intense green eyes gazing into yours.
~
Your wedding was still a ways away, but you and Gaara were clearly in love. Why the council genuinely thought you would go along with their demands were beyond you. You’d given up politics for love without a second thought.
Shaking your head, you were relieved when your front door came into view. The first thing you wanted to do leaving your meeting was to go straight to Gaara, but he was gone for the next week on his own diplomacy meeting.
You sighed as you got into bed. Whenever he was home, the council was going to be in for a world of hurt. You could only imagine how livid and betrayed Gaara would geel.
~
The next few days went by without incident, though that did make you feel just a bit nervous. You expected to be called in for some sort of meeting again, to be talked to, at least sent a message.
But there was nothing. All was peaceful and quiet.
The time passes slowly and uneventfully. You did paperwork and spent time with some friends. That night, you settled into bed with a cup of tea and a book, wishing Gaara was beside you. He’d be gone for a few more days still.
So you opted for just a relaxing night in by yourself. You usually went to sleep early-ish, but that night, you were up well past your usual bedtime, emerged in the fantasy world in between the pages you were reading.
It was because you were awake that you heard a noise from your living room. It was small, barely there, but you’d heard it. It sounded like someone had bumped into something, maybe your living room table, and had been quick to steady it.
You froze, listening carefully for any more sound, but nothing came. You had almost convinced yourself that you imagined the whole thing, but every one of your senses was on high alert. Carefully, slowly, you crept out of your bed, grabbing the kunai you kept under your pillow just in case.
You held your breath, not wanting to risk even making a sound, as you tiptoed towards your bedroom door. Ear pressed to the cool wood, you listened.
Silence met you, but you weren’t convinced. Years as a Shinobi had taught you to trust your gut. Something was off; you could feel it.
Decided to go on the offensive, you turned the door handle and threw open the door, quickly barreling through the opening. You caught the intruder dead in their tracks. He was dressed in all black, everything covered besides his dark eyes.
You were in such shock at there actually being someone there, you froze for a split second. The intruder took that second to attack, lunging at you.
He smashed into you, knocking both of you to the floor, and that’s when your instincts kicked in. As soon as your back hit the floor, you were rolling, throwing your legs over your head and then you were on your feet, sending a kick into the man’s abdomen.
The man let out a gasp as the air was knocked from him. Wasting no time, you sprinted to your front door, ready to flee and call for help.
You weren’t prepared for another intruder waiting at the otherside of the door. The second you opened it, locking eyes with him, his fist lashed out before you could even react.
Pain was all you felt before the world went black.
The world came into view slowly. As your vision cleared, you realized you were in your own bedroom. When you tried to move, you were alarmed to find that your arms and legs were both bound. Your attempt at a scream was muffled by the gag in your mouth.
“Heh, we’ve been waiting for you to wake up.” Your head jerked to see the intruder that you had kicked looming over you. “You’re lucky you got that kick in when you did, but I’m gonna have to pay you back for that one.”
He drew his hand back before smacking it across your face. You gave a muffled cry as the left side of your face stung in pain.
“Stop fucking around,” hissed the other man. “We have orders. Get to it.”
You looked up between the two, scared and confused. What kind of orders?
The first man chuckled with a smirk that looked more like a sneer. “Oh, I’m gonna enjoy this…” He mused as he pulled out a kunai. He moved toward you slowly, deliberately, letting the fear creep from your neck down your spine.
You shook your head, jerking this way and that, but the second intruder pinned you to the bed by your shoulders. “Better stay still, bitch.” He hissed at her. “We got a job to do here. This’ll teach you to defy the village council. By the time we’re done with you, you won’t think twice about doing what they say.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, your night shirt was fisted by the first man before he ripped the kunai through it.
Your face burned hot with embarrassment and shame as the remains of your top were shredded, leaving you bare. You could feel their eyes looming over you, taking in every part of your skin.
“Even your fiancé ain’t gonna want you when we’re done.” You heard snickered, but by this point you’d screwed your eyes shut, not wanting to see them looking at you like you were a piece of meat.
Shuffling made your eyes peak back open to see the first man fumbling with the buttons of his pants.
“Oh yeah, I’m gonna enjoy this.”
He shoved his boxers down, revealing himself as he palmed his length to hardness.
You began thrashing again with renewed vigor despite the hands still pinning your shoulders down. Somehow, you managed to free yourself from the second man's grasp, rolling off the bed and attempting clumsily to push yourself to your feet.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Your ankles were grabbed and unceremoniously, you were dragged kicking back to the man. In moments he had your own pants discarded before he was looming over you.
Everything about him was revolting you. His smell, his heavy body to those cold dead eyes. In one last desperate attempt, you headbutted him as hard as you could, feeling your forehead smash into his nose.
Warm blood spurted out, splashing over you as he let out a mangled scream. “You bitch! I’ll kill you!”
Spots flashed before your vision as his fist connected with your cheek, leaving you disoriented and drowning in pain.
“I’ve had enough of this,” the second man hissed, shoving the first one off of you. “I’ll take care of this.”
He pinned you with his entire body as you felt him shuffling for his pants once more.
You weren’t sure when you’d started crying, but the tears were flowing, drenching your cheeks as your stomach turned sickly. You screwed your eyes shut, willing your mind to go anywhere else but here.
There was nothing else to do but resign yourself to your fate. You couldn’t fight back or scream for help. All you could do was pray it would be over quickly.
You were still waiting when the weight of his body suddenly lifted off of yours, and you heard the most horrifying scream. Your blood went cold at the sound, causing your eyes to shoot open.
Sobs began to wrack your body as it shook with relief so great it overwhelmed you. Gaara! He was here!
And you’d never seen him look so angry before.
His eyes were wide and crazed, the vessels looking like they would pop at any second. The men were screaming, pleading, but Gaara couldn’t hear them pass the blood rushing in his ears. Teeth bared, he was growling, the sound menacing and maniacal.
In this moment you understood something in a way you never had before: Gaara was a force to be feared.
“Please! Please, we’re sorry!” “No! Don’t!”
“Sand Coffin.”
The men let out one last strangled scream before they were silenced permanently. Blood splattered everywhere, pouring down like rain. It streamed down over you and everything else in your room.
Gaara was panting hard, still looking more wild than you’d ever seen him. His eyes were locked on the sand that was seeping red with blood.
A small whimper from you brought him back. His eyes quickly flickered to you, and it was like you could see his soul returning to his body.
He was by your side in a second, kneeling next to you and pulling you to him. He gently removed the gag from your mouth and removed the bind from your wrists and ankles.
He didn’t know what to say, didn’t have the words. He just held you while you weeped into his chest, wrapped in a blanket and finally feeling safe in his arms.
It took you a while to calm down. The adrenaline had left your body, leaving you only with the weight of what had almost happened. The fear and shock left you trembling, ripping sobs from your throat.
“I’m here…” He kept repeating. “It’s okay. I’m here.”
Once you were able to finally relax, Gaara packed you a bag and took you to his home. You would never need to go back to your home with those traumatic memories, he decided. To hell with tradition or social conventions. He would move you into his home first thing the next morning.
At Gaara’s home, he ran a bath for the two of you filled with bubbles. He took a warm wash cloth, gently wiping the blood from your body. He massaged the blood back to the areas you’d been binded and iced the bruises on your face, any traces of the manic man from earlier gone. All that was left was the serene Gaara you knew and loved.
Gaara didn’t press you to talk or tell him anything the whole while, only made sure you were attended to and cared for.
It was later on once the two of you were in bed with Gaara holding you close to him that you filled him in on what had happened: the Suna Council attempts to get you to turn against Gaara and manipulate him to their purpose. What those men had said before they’d attempted to… you couldn’t even say the word.
Gaara took it all in silently, but you could feel his grip on you tighten just slightly as you spoke. He was livid; you could see it in his eyes, though it was much more subdued than before. “I’m so sorry this happened to you,” he finally spoke, his words heavy and choked.
“If you weren’t marrying me…” He stopped, closing his eyes and shaking his head. “I’m sending out word first thing to the four other villages. We’ll have the members disbanded and imprisoned before the week ends.” He assured you with a conviction and sternness you’d only seen in meetings before.
Nodding, you pulled him closer to you. “I never thought I’d see you again…” You told him. “I was so scared… I thought…” You shook your head. “You saved me. You’re always there.”
“Always,” Gaara said, kissing your head.
He didn’t know whether to chalk it all up to luck or intuition that he’d come home early. He had just missed you so terribly, it was like he suddenly couldn’t stand to be away from you for another moment. He’d cut his diplomacy trip early and hurried back, getting to you in just the nick of time.
“I don’t wanna talk about it anymore…” You murmured, looking up at him. “I just wanna forget about it, just for tonight…” With that, you reached up to press your lips to his.
Gaara hesitated only for a moment before kissing you back. He’d missed you so much, and if this was what was going to make you feel better, well, who was he to deny you? In a moment, you were up on top of him, straddling his lap as you kissed him more forcefully, almost desperately.
Gaara’s arms went around you, fingers digging into your hips as he held you against him. He let one hand slide up your back into your hair, tangling his fingers in the strands. Slowly, your lips slid down, moving over his jaw down to his neck, peppering every area you could reach with kisses.
Your name left Gaara’s mouth, a low, needy whine. It sent a jolt through your body, and you began to grind yourself into his lap. You could feel Gaara’s grip tighten in your hair even more as he slowly began to harden underneath you.
Your fingers began to pull at the hem of his shirt desperately. You needed something to ground you. You needed Gaara.
He let you pull the shirt off of him, discarding it to the side before he was on you again.
He flipped you over so you were on your back as he attached his own lips to your neck, attacking the skin, marking you as his. You were moaning and trembling under his touch, begging him for more as his hands wandered your body.
“Gaara,” You groaned out as his fingers fumbled with the waistband of your pants. “No foreplay. I want you now.”
You could hear Gaara stifle his groan at your words before your pants were unceremoniously yanked down. His lips pressed harshly back to yours, all tongue and teeth. Gaara had put aside his own feelings earlier for yours, but now they were pouring out of him.
His anger at the council. His bloodthirst for those men. His fear for what almost had happened to you; you could taste it all in the kiss. Gaara needed you to ground him just as much as you needed him to ground you.
One moment you were kissing and the next your clothes were in a pile, and he was inside of you, hands pinning down your hips as he rutted into you desperately. Your nails scratched down his back, you tried to moan or cry out, but all your sounds were swallowed by his lips.
You were breathless, dizzy as his hips pounded into yours, never breaking the kiss. His pelvic bone caught your clit with every movement and it wasn’t long before you were gushing around him, but he didn’t slow his moments. He pulled your legs up, locking them around his waist. “More,” He was mumbling against your lips. “More.” When it was over, you cumming around his cock countless times before he finally found his own release, spilling inside of you endlessly, he pulled you into his side, holding you closer than he had in some time.
“I’ve never seen you like that before.” The image played in your mind, Gaara’s eyes wild and burning, the flames of anger behind them.
Gaara tensed slightly, but you placed your hand on his chest, calming him as you gazed up at him. You weren’t afraid of him. You were only… intrigued by this side of him you’d never experienced.
“I use to crave blood.” He told you. “I know you have heard the stories. My whole life, I was told I was a monster. I thought I was one. My sole purpose was to kill everyone around me so I could survive.”
His hand was rigid on your shoulder as he spoke, but you held his gaze unwavering. You accepted Gaara. Every part of him.
“But now, I know my true purpose.” His stare was steady, sure. “Ever since I’ve become Kazekage. My purpose has been to protect those precious to me, those who need someone to protect them. I no longer crave violence or blood. But I will not let anyone, no matter who they are, hurt someone I love…” He pulled you even closer, placing a kiss on the top of your head.
“I never would have dreamed I would have someone precious to me, or someone who I am precious to. But now that I have you, I’m never going to let you go.”

I also feel flattered for you liking my writing <3
So yes, I love your idea! Let's see if I nailed.
P.D please feel free to send more Naruto requests <3
Obito x fem!reader (Rescuing a Kunoichi from a destroyed country)
Warnings: Angst, mentions of death.
Tumblr media
Everything was over, everything was gone, everything that you knew and cared for. Your friends, your family, all the people that made you feel at home. Yours was a very poor country although with a decent count of Shinobi, full of violence and riots even before the great shinobi nations started to use it as a low cost battlefield. None of this was new so as you were used to anarchy and cruelty, you never imagined the consequences of the latest clash between Konohagakure and Sunagakure shinobis.
Actually you felt grateful for having missed such macabre entertainment, every step you took showed you corpses of the people that you knew, the stinging smell of burnt flesh pierced through your nostrils. There was not much fire left, since there was really nothing left to fuel it. Were you the only survivor? You barely made it out in one piece from under the heaviest debris your Suiton has ever lifted.
Did your comrades fought until the end? You did not knew it either, but you were fortunate enough for not seeing how Konoha and Suna Shinobis slashed out all your companions while they desperately tried to protect the little they got left; which was nothing more than their honor and the lives of those who were precious to them.
Could the feelings bubbling up in your chest be anger, sadness or perhaps despair? One way or another you could not bring yourself to cry, not until you saw your family; with your own eyes. You looked for what seemed ages, isn’t it interesting how time whimsically chooses their victims? You were there, right in front of them, you somehow recognized them despite how much their bodies were mutilated. You fell to your knees, still unable to cry, breathing steady but painfully.
“Isn’t this reality the true hell?” Said a very masculine deep voice at your back and even though being heartbroken you were still able to quickly turn around to face him, on a guard stance with an improvised sharp stake. “You have faced so much death and still you have the will to preserve yours? Interesting…” As he scanned you from head to toes you took the chance to observe him as well; he was taller than you, black short hair, muscular in a moderate way, midnight blue robes with black gloves as his outfit, the entire right side of his face had a very distinctive scarring pattern and only one penetrating pitch black eye.
You lowered your guard, he was right, with so much death around there was very little left to protect; only your life but even then, attacking him will be an idiotic idea if you were planning on surviving. So you spoke in a low voice: “Well, this is the only reality…”. You tensed your body for what could be coming up next; perhaps this will be the end of you, a way of joining the ones you just lost but still you will die fighting just as they did.
“Is it?” He answered back with a very calm voice and shaking your head as in trying to clear your mind, you responded “ Is it what?”. “This being the only reality we could live in, a living hell.” he said with a very stoic expression. You were exhausted both mentally and physically, you felt your body giving out at any moment now, so naturally none of his words made sense to you. Brushing all your hair back you confessed with an exhausted expression: “I am sorry sir, I am not following this babbling of yours”. He released a soft chuckle, turned around and muttered: “Come with me”.
Now your head was dizzy, you felt disoriented and confused and you were unsure if you answered him but he spoke again: “You can barely stand by yourself and I can sense the disturbance in your chakra flow. You are exhausted and if you stay here you will very likely die. If that is what you want, so be it; but if you want to live, come with me”. He was being serious or at least that was the impression he gave you. It only took you a moment, but in reality you had already chosen life the moment you raised your guard when you heard him the first time.
You took the first step towards him and everything went black, as you lost consciousness he ably caught you before touching the floor and carried you in bridal style to what seemed to be his improvised campsite. While you were dreaming, you could see the lake where you learned your first suiton jutsu, your sensei, your teammates and a very sweet scent, barely perceptible; firewood and rain. You slowly opened your eyes as you woke up, a small crackling fire scarcely illuminated the cave in which you were refuging from the heavy rain outside.
A brownish blanket glided down as you tried to sit up, your entire body was screaming in pain and with an erratic breathing you tried to stand up. “I would advise you to take it easy. I bet you can hardly move due to the pain, adding more stress to your body will only make it worse.” Said the man who was sitting right in front of the fire, his silhouette narrowly perceptible. With a lot of effort, you managed to rest your back against one of the cave walls just to be surprised by the man who was offering an improvised food plate; made up of rice and fire-cooked fish.
What was going on? Was this man planning to recover you to full health in order to kill you when you were at your best? Was he going to enslave you or sell you as a commodity? Your thoughts did not make any sense, but you really could not understand. You hesitantly accepted what he was offering, bowed in gratitude and started eating. Since you were starving it not only tasted awesome, it helped you to clear your mind and so you questioned him: “Although I am really grateful for you helping me out, I really don’t understand why you would go all your way for helping someone, like me…”.
Those last two words had so many implications and meanings; ranging from an orphan with no place to return back up to possibly being a Kunoichi from an enemy country to him. Because he was also a shinobi, right? But he just plainly answered by steadily staring at the fire: “Well, who knows…”
And he was exactly right, he was not sure at all why he stopped to help you. You were there alone, ravaged by the horrors of the shinobi wars, devastated by having lost everything you lived for and never shed a single tear. That intrigued him, you were beautiful, how your hair locks fell down your face even after being under so much pain and your eyes, so deep and full of mysteries he thought were worth his time unveiling.
While lost in his thoughts, you finally started sobbing silently. It was like everything had fallen right in place and you were finally accepting everything that happened, Obito felt warmness in his heart. How long has it been since he felt something of the sort? He then spoke in a softer voice: “I will create a reality, a world where nothing like this will happen again.” You smiled sourly and asked him: “Is that possible? Can someone really do it?” He got dangerously closer to you: “I certainly can and will. And in that world all your loved ones will be there with you.”
You could not stop yourself from blushing and turned away from him: “Well… umm” He interrupted: “Obito, just Obito”. You nodded and continued: “Well Obito-san, I hope I can still be here to see that day come by.” His face softened, not to the extent of being a smile but something very close to it. “Then come with me and I will show you that world when the time is right.” From that day on, you both traveled together for some time. He taught you new jutsus and showed you the secret messages hidden in the stars.
As he felt the first time he met you, you stirred feelings in him that he thought were totally forgotten. What about his plan for the infinite tsukuyomi, was it still worth it? Absolutely yes, now more than ever if it was for your sake. He just spoke to you: “ Y/N?”. You answered him back with a very wide smile and a cheerful expression, which he loved so much to see: “Yes, Obito-san?”. He hesitated but continued: “Remember that reality we talked about when we met? Well, the day has come and now everything is settled for its completion.”
“I am ready whenever you are.” You declared with determination as you stopped on your tracks. “No, I need you… I want you to stay here, that way I can keep you safe. It might take me sometime but I will definitely come back to you.” He said this as he cupped your cheek and leaned closer to softly and tenderly kiss you in the lips. It was the first time he did something of the sort so your face was completely flushed. And without saying another word he left, leaving you in the place farthest possible of where he knew the core battle will take place.
He left you waiting for his return, a day that never came. Later you found out what really happened and the reason for his eternal absence. With your heart aching you could only hope that the wind carried out the words you whispered as he left you that day: “Obito-san, I love you.”

A/N: Of course, I actually had fun with this, even if it was my first scenario on here. Let me know if you like it!

walk me home
/neji hyūga x reader
Tumblr media
a/n: hii, this is the first time i write about a naruto character. i'm not adapting the anime so it will probably be somethings a little bit changed. and also english it's not my mother language so feel free to correct me if i make any mistakes. hope you enjoy 💖💖
summary: you ask neji to walk you home after the training, while you're trying to hide your real feelings from yourself
paring: neji hyuga x fem!reader
warnings: none
Tumblr media
the sun was bright and you could see the orange color troughs your closed eyes, your body was against the grass on the training feel while you were trying to relax and a catch a breath after training with neji, you were really tired, the hyuga boy was a really tough opponent, but of course you would never gonna admit that to him.
you could feel his body falling beside yours and you let a little smile cross your face because of the closeness within you two.
"you were lucky" you say to him with you eyes still close
"y/n i can see how tired you are, and i don't even have a single sweat drop on my face" neji's voice was always so calm and beautiful, even when he was teasing you
you opened one eye to look at him and them closed it again.
"i don't care neji, i will beat you one day"
you have always felt this thing for neji that you weren't sure of how calling it, yo didn't know if it wass affection, or admiration, maybe both, but you couldn't contain a smile every time you see him proud of himself, and that pain in your chest when he was in pain, and maybe, just maybe, you wanted to know how his lips tasted, but you will never said it out loud.
you move your hand really slow to take the kunai on your pocket, after all, you never give up, and he never say something to end the fight. opening you eyes you so his faces, eyes closed and a relaxed smirk on his face, you loved to him like that, even if that means you would lose, you decide to take the kunai in your pocket again and let him be happy for a time.
"what you're looking at?" he said after a couple of minutes, that's when you realize that you been staring at him with a smile for a while, and he could probably feel it
"nothing"
he opened his eyes and get up, now sitting in the grass netx to you, you imitated his actions and now you were one i front of the other
"i don't believe you, not even a little bit y/n" he said, his face was closer to yours with every word he said
"then don't believe me, neji" you respond a little nervous because of the closeness within you two, but you hide it pretty well
"you know" he started "you're really annoying sometimes" you lift your eyebrow, was he insulting you? why? "but i like that, just in you"
opening your eyes, quite a shock, neji was never the one to open up and say things like that
"a weird way to say you like me, hyuga" the space was between you two was getting smaller, you could see a little pink in his cheeks
to make that a depper shade you give a kiss in the cheek and get up offering one hand, once he take it and both of you were standing you talk
"come on, walk me home"

omg i love your blog sm!! i was wondering if you could write an itachi x reader angst?? like it's set during the uchiha massacre and itachi has to yk,, kill his wife aka the reader?? it literally came up to me in a dream! thank you!!
Hi. You have no idea how happy I am I got this request. I’ve been wanting to write this FOREVER. Let me tell you why. So, in one of the Naruto Storm video games, Tobi/Madara is talking to Sasuke, explaining to him about who Itachi had killed and such. Eventually, he mentions he killed his lover and I made a noise between a gasp and a scream. So...I wholeheartedly believe that Itachi having a lover is canon based on the video games and I won’t let anyone take that away from me. That was many many years ago though. But that desire to put it into words has remained and I haven’t seen anything else like this out there, so I’m glad to give it to you! Also, Itachi is aged up to be at least 18. But let’s just say 20 to be safe~ I hope you enjoy the read!
Tumblr media
It’s Ok. (Itachi x Fem!Reader)
Warning(s): angst, death, I cried writing this so you better cry reading this
Word Count: 2,531
“Oh my.” A yawn escaped your lips for the fourth time as you made your way back to the Uchiha compound. “I’m more tired than I thought.” You muttered into your hand as a means to conceal the yawn. A small bit of cold metal touched your lips, making you pull your hand away. The silver ring on your finger brought a smile to your face. “How did I get so lucky.” It was a statement, not a question as you would never question the reason why, just glad that it was.
Itachi had sent you on a spa getaway for a few days and nature seeing. The both of you were supposed to go, but of course, the Anbu came first. You weren’t upset by it, it was something that the both of you knew would happen and what was accepted going into the marriage: the village and its safety come first.
However, that did not mean your marriage was accepted by others.
The rest of the clan found it an ill match as Itachi was the pride and joy of the Uchiha clan, while you…you were some ‘nobody’ who barely made it to Chunin rank. It would be a lie to say if it did not bother you at the beginning of the relationship.
“Shh, (F/N), don’t let it bother you.” Itachi’s deep and soothing voice hummed in your ear, curled up in his arms on the couch in your small apartment.
“How can I not?” You sniffled back, nuzzling your way even closer to him only to have his arms tighten around you even more.
A small kiss was placed at your forehead. “Because, they don’t know you. And, unfortunately, they’re telling you all you need to know about them.” Itachi sighed sadly. “I’m sorry they cannot accept the beautiful soul of the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with.”
That had put a smile to your lips. “Really?” You whispered, looking up at him for confirmation.
He returned that smile and nodded his head. “Really.” His lips met yours, sealing that statement forever in your heart.
Itachi supported you no matter what, regardless of what anyone may say or think of him as a cold-hearted ‘weapon’. Although, the mere thought of how he was treated always made your blood boil. Truly, the Uchiha clan had told you all you needed to know about their practices without being told directly. Whenever Itachi had brought you over to his parent’s home, Fugaku would always be sure to praise his son’s accomplishments a little too hard.
“It’s wonderful, isn’t it? That the next great shinobi of our generation is of the Uchiha clan.” Fugaku would boast, motioning to Itachi with a drink in his hand. “A genius. A perfect weapon.” He mused to which his wife, Mikoto nodded.
“It truly is. He makes the clan proud.” She would say in agreement, never seeming to make a statement of her own.
The pair would always make you tense, your hand balling into fists. But as soon as that would happen, a larger hand would lay over your own and put you at ease. Your hand relaxed and laced together with Itachi’s, allowing you to eat your dinner in peace while he fended off the attention to him as a ‘tool to be used’ into something more mundane.
And unfortunately, another dinner was planned. This one was by his parents inviting them over, not Itachi’s own goodwill to try and have a connection.
You had just lay Sasuke down for bed on the couch, the boy having fallen asleep while you read to him, when Itachi told you his parent’s wishes. “They what? You’re kidding.” You asked in disbelief, keeping your voice quiet as you lay a blanket over Sasuke’s small form. “What do they even want to talk about?”
“Something that is none of their business.” Came the short reply.
Confused, you made your way over to where he was leaning against the kitchen counter, a cup of tea in his hands with another beside it. Itachi handed you the other brewed cup to which you gave small sip before asking, “Which is…?” You pressed, wanting him to explain a bit further.
He ran his hand through his dark hair, the hair tie not in to hold it back. “When we are going to have a child.”
You stared at him blankly for a moment before clenching your jaw. “You’re right, that is none of their business.” You rolled your (E/C) eyes and leaned on the counter next to him. “And here I thought they may be coming around to me,” lifting the cup up to your lips, you added, “guess not,” and took a long sip.
Silence filled the air for a good while, the both of you sipping on your tea with the occasional snore from Sasuke being the only other sound. “Would you like a child?” Itachi asked, his hand reaching out to grasp your left one, gently rubbing the silver band on it with his thumb.
“I,” your eyes glanced down in the near empty cup of tea, “I don’t know. I like the idea of them. But…I’m not sure I would make a good mother.” A small snort came from Itachi and you looked at him with narrowed eyes, “What?” You asked in challenge, wondering exactly what he was going to say.
Setting his own cup down, he stepped in front of you and effortlessly lifted up your (B/T) form to sit on the counter and occupied the space between your legs. “I’m surprised is all.” He hummed, a hand reaching up to gently grasp your cheek, his pale thumb stroking your cheek bone. “I’m surprised you’re doubting the skills you clearly possess.”
Now it was your turn to snort, but a smile found its way to your face regardless—like it always seemed to when you’re with him. “I’m curious. Why don’t you tell me?”
“Well,” he glanced over his shoulder before motioning with his head at it, “the way you were interacting with Sasuke would be my best example.”
“That’s different, we are just watching him for the night.”
“It’s not different.” He immediately said, his hands now finding their way to your hips. “You’ve shown incredible patience. Allowing him to show you whatever he wanted to. An interesting stick he found? You marveled at it. The fireball he was able to summon? You cheered for him like no one else had.” He praised, his forehead now leaning forward to rest against your (S/C) one. “Reading to him and doing voices with it? You are a natural.” His lips came closer to yours. “Not to mention, how you treat the blonde boy. Whenever you see him, you speak with him, give him attention. You have a kind soul.”
By now, a dark flush was beginning to spread on your face. You would never not love the compliments he gave, but it always was embracing to have him say them so openly and as a matter of fact, not opinion. “You…you would make a great father.” You whispered back, now finding your lips just a breath apart; so close, that you could practically feel him smile.
“Thank you, (F/N). That means the world.” Your lips and bodies met that night, hoping that whatever the result would be, it would be a good one.
Playing with a lock of your (H/C) hair, you had been waiting patiently for the doors to the compound to open. But…they wouldn’t budge. Frowning, you glanced around and while it was night time, it was dead silent. “That’s odd.” You muttered, noting the air smelt weird too. Itachi had not been at the home you shared that was thankfully away from the compound, his mission supposed to have been over the day prior, and figured he might be at his family’s home to pick up Sasuke early as you were going to look after him again.
Ignoring the warning in your head to not pursue it and turn around, you leapt up to balance on the top of the gate only to nearly fall back in shock.
Bodies. Bloodied, fallen, bodies littering the ground. Given your relationship with the clan as a whole, the only thing you felt was shock and worry about the two Uchiha that mattered in your life: Itachi and Sasuke.
Quickly leaping down, you ran from door to door, body to body, quickly determining that none of them were Itachi nor Sasuke. And while you should have been relieved, you just weren’t.
Rounding another corner, you stopped midstep, finding the small figure you were hoping but dreading to see. “Sasuke!” You cried out, running and sliding down next to him, quickly checking over his body and determining the blood on him was not his own. He seemed to be merely passed out. Right as you were about to pick him up and take him to the hospital when a pained voice spoke behind you.
“Why are you here, (F/N)?” The voice, while so familiar, sounded to be deeply in pain.
Laying Sasuke’s upper body back down on the ground, you slowly stood up. “I got back early. I wanted to surprise you.” You whispered back, knowing full well who eliminated the Uchiha clan. “Surprise.”
“(F/N)….”
Taking a deep breath, you turned to find your blood-splattered husband with his Sharingan activated and tears flowing from his eyes. The both of you stared at one another for what felt like an eternity. “It’s ok.” You said after a moment, your hand reaching up to brush away some of his tears, effectively spreading the blood away as well. “It’s ok.” You whispered again.
“(F/N)…I…you can’t….” His voice was cracking as his body trembled, struggling to speak.
“I know.” A few tears began to fall from your face now. You had seen too much. You knew what had to happen. Tilting your head, you placed a soft kiss against Itachi’s lips which was quickly met with desperation, a need from him to never let it stop.
One of his hands found its way to your hair and holding it tightly, the other wrapped around your waist to pull you close to him, sword falling to the ground. “Take us back to our home?” You whispered against his lips before he gave a small nod, your body getting picked up and in what seemed like an instant, you were inside your bedroom.
Sitting on the edge of your bed, he loomed over you, hands grasping the bedsheets and his head leaning on your shoulder as it seemed even more tears were falling. “(F/N)….” He said again, this time seeming to choke out your name.
A sad smile graced your features, your head turning to place a kiss against his cheek while your left hand found a kunai in the pouch on his thigh. “It’s ok.” You said again, nudging it into his hand.
Itachi pulled back to look at you, his red eyes seeming to memorize every last inch of you, so he could always remember you—his beautiful wife.
“Oh.” You said suddenly, lifting your left hand up, smiling fondly at the silver ring there. With shaking fingers, you took it off and placed it on his pinky. Once it was securely on, you smiled back up at him. “There. See? I won’t be leaving you.”
Itachi gave a small laugh, “You always find a way, don’t you.” He whispered, letting you take his hand that held the kunai to raise it to your heart.
“Yes, I do.” You smiled back, your eyes staring up at him with nothing but love and acceptance.
His hand seemed to still a little with both of your hands wrapped around his on the kunai’s handle. “I love you, (F/N).” Itachi leaned in, his lips against yours.
Closing your eyes, you whispered against him, “I love you too, Itachi.” And with one last kiss and your hands jerking towards you, your world went entirely dark. All the while the body that sobbed above you mourned what could have been.
______________________________________________________
Having died for the second time was odd. But now, Itachi could eternally rest. He was able to see Sasuke accept the truth of that fateful night, knowing full well that he may never be forgiven. Or even son, get sent to the darkest parts of the afterlife. So, it was met with some confusion that all he saw was light.
“Itachi?”
The man’s body froze. A voice he hadn’t heard in person for years, and had only replayed conversations in his mind. Turning in disbelief, his breath got caught in his throat at seeing the most wonderful sight before him. “(F/N)?” The name came out barely audible, it was not a name he had said aloud in a long time.
You smiled brightly, walking over to him while making sure to keep the small bundle to your chest. “Hello, my love. I’m glad you’re finally with us.”
Itachi had been in awe of how serene you were in the white kimono that he had nearly missed the small object in your arms, but he did not miss the ‘us’ comment. “Us?” He whispered, a sense of guilt and dread beginning to fill his heart.
“Itachi Uchiha. I know what you’re thinking, and don’t you dare. I had no idea either.” Your hand opening the bundle a bit more, an infant with black hair and large dark eyes stared up at the man. “It’s ok.” You said again, letting the man embrace the two of you.
“Do…do they have a name?” He whispered into your hair, his heart trying to accept that he had unknowingly killed his own unborn child.
You shook your head, your free hand reaching out to adjust his arms. “No, not yet.” Placing the small bundle into his arms, you smiled up at him proudly. “I wanted to wait for his father.”
“A boy.” He smiled, unable to help the tears from falling in both joy and sorrow.
Nodding, you wrapped your arm around his waist and leaned against his shoulder, looking down at the life you had created and now meeting in the afterlife. “Yes. You’ve done so much, Itachi.” You hummed, laying your hand over his. “You’ve sacrificed so much. Now…it’s time for you.” Leaning up, you placed a kiss against his lips, a feeling he had missed so much. “It’s time for us.” A small sound of happiness came up from the baby in his arms. “He agrees. Now, what should we name him?”
Looking at you, then to his son, Itachi closed his eyes. “How about…(C/N)?”
Smiling, you nodded in agreement. “(C/N) it is.”
Swallowing hard, he raised (C/N) up and gave a light kiss to the boy’s forehead which earned a happy giggle from the boy before placing one on your own. “I love you, (F/N).”
Glad that you could finally be together forever, you beamed back up at him, “I love you too, Itachi. Now, come on. We have eternity together. We’re not going anywhere.” Taking his hand, the three of you walked off into that bright void, your souls at peace.

tobirama x trans male reader. sfw but him coming out to tobirama.
coming out to tobirama as trans
includes — tobirama senju x m!reader
note — i had a hard time picturing him and what he would say... but as a trans guy, i think i just self projected here lmao
Tumblr media
tobirama senju
Tumblr media
you had to prepare a week in advance, just to mentally prepare yourself.
cause lets be honest, having to sit down with someone and come out to them is nerve-wracking enough but when it’s someone like tobirama? it can be even more so
when it finally comes down to it, you tell him you have something important to say. hearing you say that made him a tiny bit nervous. internally of course.
he thought he did something wrong lol
either way, sitting down and talking to him about it was a lot easier than you expected. he sat through it all carefully listening to your words and taking it all in.
he waited till you were finished and by then you could tell he was a little confused. he asked simple questions like,
“what does it mean to be trans” (i'm sure he’s met a few trans people in his life but i doubt he fully grasps the concept lol)
in the end, the best way to put is that tobirama doesn’t really care. (a harsh way to put it ik)
a better way of saying it is, his feelings for you aren't going to change, no matter your gender. he’ll still love you the same.
if you come to him with any problems you might be having, like you’re feeling very dysphoric that day, he’ll try his best to help in any way you can.
you want to cut your hair shorter? ....he sucks at cutting hair, he’ll probably get hashirama to do it for you lol
feeling bad about your chest? he’ll try to get you a binder.
someone’s giving you shit or a hard time? he’s gonna step up with his incredibly intimidating presence and force the person to back off
either way, tobirama is generally accepting of you. even if he doesn’t completely understand at first, he’ll make the effort for you :)

This is for the lovely @spicynaruto who gave me a theme and I ran with it. I hope you like it! (Also, be sure to check out their blog for some nice Naruto fiction as well!)
Stay Warm Sasuke x Fem!Reader Warning(s): fluff and cuteness Word Count: 1,416
Everything was set. The candles were lit, the food was plated and prepared, and you were dressed in a teal green kimono with small and delicate flowers covering it paired with a peach obi. Not to mention your (H/T) (H/C) hair was styled just right and had a white peony pinned into it. Clapping your hands together, you smiled to yourself. “It’s perfect, I can’t wait for him to be home!” You giggled and quickly headed to the entryway.
The last you had heard, Sasuke was coming back from his mission today and would be there shortly. It had been a good month since you had last seen him, and you wanted him to come home to a clean house, a nice and ready meal, and his gorgeous wife.
Kneeling down onto your shins, you folded your (S/C) hands onto your knees and waited for him to open the door.
And waited.
And waited some more.
Eventually, your eyelids started to get heavy as the fading light from the sun started to turn the world dark. Paired with the long day of cooking and cleaning and dolling yourself up, it was a little taxing. You soon found yourself fast asleep, having done so upright with your head having fallen forward a little.
It was closer to midnight by the time Sasuke made it back to the village. He had passed a small stand selling glass windchimes, making him a bit late. There were so many to choose from and he wanted to get one for the special light in his life. He had eventually decided on one that was clear, with purple, blue, pink, and green glass flowers laid on the outside. He had made sure to get it wrapped as well. He would have done it himself, but...it was a little difficult to wrap gifts one handed.
By the time he got to his home, he noticed the lights were still on. Surely she was not still waiting up for him? A small smirk graced his features. Well, it certainly wouldn’t be surprising if she was.
Unlocking the door and stepping inside, he was about to announce his arrival only to see an absolutely breathtaking moment before him.
There she was. His light. Waiting there patiently for him.
Quietly setting the gift down on the entryway table they had, he leaned down in front of her, cocking his head to the side. The gentle snore that came from her only confirmed his suspicions that she fell asleep. His heart warmed at the thought that she fell asleep waiting for him, but could not help but feel a little bad at causing her to.
Taking off his shoes, he carefully picked her up, intending to take her to their bedroom. But passing by the common area made his nose twitch. Backtracking a little, he saw the plates of food and immediately felt at peace. “What did I do to deserve you, (F/N).” He muttered, turning his head to place a gentle kiss to your forehead. You barely stirred, only to snuggle more into him.
Wrestling with the thought of whether to take you to the bedroom or to set you on the couch and cover you up, Sasuke decided with the latter, only in hopes that you would wake up so that you could eat.
Gently laying you down on the couch, he quickly fetched a pillow and a blanket to let you be more comfortable. Once he did, he went back out to fetch the present and set it on the coffee table, so that if and when you did eventually wake up, it’d be a welcome sight.
Seeing as that was all settled, he lit the candles that had snuffed themselves out and warmed up both of their meals. After all, even if he was being quiet, there was no telling when you’d wake up.
Sitting back down at the table, he began to eat the meal you had prepared for them, chicken katsu with curry sauce. It was a staple of yours, and had quickly become a favorite of his. It was always warm, filling, and reminded him of home with you.
He made sure to savor it, as he did not want to rush the perfect meal. And on his way to his third piece of chicken, his ears perked up at hearing you let out a mewl of a yawn.
You slowly blinked your (E/C) open, rubbing them a little before realizing you were sideways. “Wha?” You muttered only to fixate on the small box in front of you. A grin spread across your face and you reached out for it, slowly picking it up. Rolling onto your back, you stared at it with curiosity. Sasuke must have been home, an intruder wouldn’t leave a gift, much less make sure you’re as comfortable as you are right now.
Undoing the ribbon and taking off the lid, your eyes lit up as to what was inside. Picking it up by the string, you marveled at how beautiful the windchime was. This was certainly done by an artisan, not just from some trinket shop. Taking the wooden panel under it, you gently tapped it so that the glass cylinder that was in the middle hit the outer glass piece, bringing a delicate chime. “Beautiful.” You whispered, sitting up a little.
“I’m glad you like it.” Came a deep voice, but it didn’t surprise you.
“Why didn’t you wake me up right when you came home, Sasuke?” You asked, your head turning to look over the couch and leaned against it so you could look at him.
He shrugged a little, setting his chopsticks down and coming over to you. “You looked too peaceful.” He admitted, picking up your legs to lay across his as he sat down next to you.
That only made you grin and shake your head. “I’m your wife, you know you can wake me for anything, right?” You asked, finding his hand and rubbing your thumb across the back of it as you looked into his uncovered eye.
Again, he shrugged but a smile tugged at his lips. “I know I can, it’s just a matter of if I will. Which I won’t.” Sasuke replied back, his head now leaning against the couch. “Plus, it seemed like you had a busy day, you needed the rest.” His hand reached out to gently touch the peony in your hair. “I’m just sorry you went to all this hard work, only for me to show up late.”
You grinned and turned your head to the side, placing a soft kiss against the palm of his hand. “It’s fine, because you know why?”
“Why?” He asked, his eyes shining a bit at the small display of affection.
“Because you still came home.” You whispered, leaning forward to place a chaste kiss against his lips. Before you could pull back, his hand found its way to your cheek.
“You know you can’t leave me with a kiss like that and not expect more, (F/N).” Sasuke muttered, leaning back in for a more prolonged kiss, this time lasting considerably longer.
Pulling back to catch your breath a little, Sasuke chuckled a little. “You’re so easy to fluster.”
It made your face flush and purse your lips together. Two can play it that game. Taking off the blanket, you lifted up your kimono a bit so that you could straddle his lap, your (C/T) chest pressed up against his muscular one, your (E/C) staring down at him. You heard a small gulp and saw some color appearing on his cheeks. “So are you, my love.” You giggled and leaned down to kiss him once more. “Now, let’s finish eating, shall we? It’d be a shame to let it go to waste.” You said, getting off his lap and taking the wind chime in your hands. “Thank you for this as well, it’s lovely.”
Sasuke ran a hand over his hair once you were off his lap. Oh, how you loved to tease him. But that’s what made you fun. “You’re very welcome.” He answered back before standing up. “But yes, let’s eat.” He pulled out the chair for you to sit before sitting himself.
“Oh, I almost forgot.” You said, your eyes wide.
“What is it?” He asked, a clump of rice halfway to his mouth.
You grinned, your heart full of love. “Welcome home, Sasuke.”

Shoulder kisses
+
[name] walked into the bedroom. The shared bedroom between her and the one person she never grows tired of laying beside, and climbs onto the bed.
Shes wearing an old t-shirt of his. It's a bit big, landing at her mid thigh. His clothes had never been so big on [name] that they looked like a dress, but they were still oversized and comfortable. They were warm, and smelled like him. Smelled like comfort.
Sasuke faced the other way, grunting in annoyance. He was having trouble pulling his shirt off, the collar getting stuck at his neck. It may had been a year or so since he lost his arm in the fight against Naruto, but he still has troubles. He doesn't like being babied or asking for help either, so [name] doesn't baby him and doesn't wait for him to ask. She crawls across the bed and lifts the fabric over his head, before gently dropping it to the floor beside his feet.
[name] didn't expect him to be startled by the sudden action. If the bed moving hadn't been enough of an indicator, he sensed her chakra long before the mattress dipped under her weight.
Thankfully she was right, and he wasn't startled at all.
He doesn't say anything, just leans over and lets out a tired sigh. He rests his chin in his only hand and closes his eyes. His hair is a bit messed up from the tussle with the shirt, but doesn't make move to touch it. If sasuke wanted it fixed, he would fix it himself or ask her to.
[name] smiles softly.
Strange how she came to love this stubborn, beautiful man.
She leaned forward and gently rested her hands on his upper back. He tensed at the touch, and she patiently waited for him to relax before moving again. He'd always been a bit shy went it came to physical affection. Shy, and uncomfortable at sudden contact. [name] did her best not to force it upon him, and she gave him time to adjust when needed. She cared enough for him to do a simple thing such as that.
The muscles in his back rolled under her fingers, before the tension eased and he relaxed into the warmth of her palms.
[name] leaned forward and placed gentle butterfly kisses on Sasukes shoulder, her lips barely making contact with his fair skin. Warmth rushed through her chest at the feeling, savoring the touch of his smooth skin underneath her sensitive lips. She breathed in his smell of home, feeling nothing but ease at his presence. Knowing he was here, with her. The love she felt for him. It was so warm.
Rubbing her thumbs on his back, she closed her eyes, and began trailing kisses from his shoulder blade to his neck.
He was warm. Always so warm.
[name] pressed a single last kiss in the crook of his neck, before nuzzling her face into him, humming in content. Sasuke didn't tense under her touch this time, only leaning into her.
"I love you." He whispered.
If she hadn't been so close to him, it's likely she wouldn't have heard him at all. He was quiet, almost meek when saying the phrase. Sasuke had always been that way when it came to love. Shy. A bit meek, but not too much so. He was simply unsure. And [name] understood. She would always be there to understand him.
Because she too, loved him.
"I love you too." She whispered back, pressing another kiss to the crook of his neck.

JiraiyaX(Daughter) Reader
His body lay on the ground before them. She couldn’t believe it had come to this. Her father had gone on a mission without telling her and barely came back at all. The amulet around his neck was the only reason he even made it back to the village with the toad elders beside him. “No no no no no no! Hold on ok you’ve got to hold on dad!” Amalthea moves quickly trying to find what part of his body was hurt the worst. She wasn’t as talented in medical jutsu as Tsunade, but the Hokage had been giving her lessons aiding in her growth.
The older woman stood behind the girl watching as she tried to find a way to save the man that meant the world to both of them. “You’re going to be ok.” The tears slid down her face dripping onto his blood-stained clothing as her hands began to glow. She was desperate to save the man that had but recently come into her life.
“Thea…” His voice was weak and she chose to keep working even though she knew the damage was severe. She had to save him. “Don’t die. You’re not allowed to die dad.” Speaking as firmly as she could with tears welling up behind her eyes Amalthea’s hands moved over his injuries before his hand rested atop hers. “It’s...too late for me.” Shaking her head quickly she refused to believe it. “No. No, it’s not.”
There was one last way to save him. During her research into her family line, Amalthea found an ability that was all but forbidden. He had so much he could do for the village, Tsunade needed him, and the white-haired girl knew that this was her only chance to keep him alive. Taking a deep breath she began the chant. “Flower gleam and glow...let your power shine. Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine.”
Tsunade felt her heart sinking as she quickly knelt on the other side of Jiraya trying to help Amalthea with his wounds. She was unfamiliar with what the girl was doing but her father’s hand tightened on her. “No. Amalthea.” He spoke as firmly as he could. The girl shook her head resting her head against his shoulder. “I can’t let you die...You’re needed here..” She spoke softly. He had so much to live for, she couldn’t allow him to perish here. The village needed his strength, his guidance. Tsunade needed him. “Heal what has been hurt...change the fate’s design...save what has been lost.” She spoke softly placing her hand on the largest wound he had. “Bring back what once was mine...what once was mine.” With that, she awaited the transfer of her life energy to her father.
Jiraiya felt tears sliding down his face as his daughter willingly gave up her life for him, for the village that had become her home. A glow radiated around his wounds, golden and warm patching up the injuries in his body while Amalthea’s body leaned against him on the ground her eyes closing for what she thought was the last time.
Your time is not done yet, girl. There is someone else that needs you.
Who was that voice? Amalthea knew she should feel nothing but cold around her due to the fact that this jutsu transferred the life of the person who cast it to the one they’re trying to save. There was only one thing that kept it from being used on just anyone. This jutsu only worked with family members. Instead of the cold grip of death, Amalthea felt warmth radiating around her body as she was placed on something that she assumed a cloud would feel like.
You have more to offer this village than you allow yourself to believe. There is one that would be devastated by your loss. I can’t have that brat weeping when he needs to be growing his strength.
The voice was unlike anything she’d heard before. She felt no pain as she lay on the cloud-like substance listening to this gravely voice. Who are you? She asked wondering if it would even answer her.
Who I am is of little importance, the one that requires you to live is known throughout the village. You have brought a light into his life. It cannot be taken. I will transfer some of my chakra to you. You will live alongside your father.
With that, the warmth faded and Amalthea felt her eyes slowly opening, though they felt like lead. “Amalthea!” A loud voice called causing her ears to ring as she let out a slight groan of pain rubbing them before a blonde blur came into view. “How are you feeling? Are you ok? Why…” he stopped sniffling for a moment. “Why would you try to do something like that...You know your life is just as valuable as your father’s.” The voice spoke causing the girl to smile softly.
Reaching her hand out she laced her fingers with his. “Sorry...Naruto I...I had to...I couldn’t lose him.” She answered softly as the grip on her hand tightened. “I can’t lose you either..” He spoke as tears slid down his face reaching out to stroke her cheek softly. “Wait, Granny Tsunade I thought you said that jutsu she used was like what Granny Chio did for Gaara.”
Tsunade nodded from her spot beside Jiraiya who was now fully recovered. “It is. There had to be something that gave her enough chakra for her body to stay alive; though you should inform her she’s been in a coma for almost two weeks now.”
That explained why her back was sore, but Amalthea didn’t mind. Smiling at the blonde she tightened her grip slightly on his hand. “I’ll be alright Naruto.” She promised.
With that, the blonde stepped back giving her father room to step closer to her as he ran his hand over her head softly. “What you did was foolish Amalthea. Your life is more valuable than I think you realize. I have lived a good life.” He spoke seriously before his face softened. “I can’t say, however, that I would do any different if the roles were reversed.” He spoke lightly stroking her hair. “Get some rest. Once you’re released you and Naruto are going through some serious training.”
The girl smiled and simply nodded her head softly. She didn’t regret her choice. Not a bit.
(So I’ve been aching to type this out in a Naruto roleplay with a character I’ve created, but most the people have disappeared before we got remotely close to this part. It’s been itching in the back of my mind so long I decided to type a quick little oneshot out and post it! Let me know what you guys think! <3 <3

“Naruto?”
Your voice broke out softly through the momentary silence. The wind had been howling almost constantly that night, keeping you wide awake. You weren’t afraid of anything, not really. At twelve years old, you, like many of your friends, had the notion that you were invincible. Nothing could touch you, and you would always come out on top. You would miss that as you grew older, the confidence in yourself and your abilities. The belief that the world was fair, and that the good guys always won.
So it wasn’t really that you were scared of the way the wind screamed, the whistles through the tree leaves or the sporadic loud crashes that came as the wind blew branches and even tree trunks to the ground. Maybe it was the fact that you had experienced the first death of an enemy on a mission.
And maybe it was deserved. He had been a criminal, after all, and you hadn’t delivered the fateful blow; of course not. It had been Kakashi, in a bid to save your life.
So maybe you were scared, or traumatized, or reeling from your innocence being shattered for the very first time. Whatever you felt, you were still too young, too inexperienced, to be able to pinpoint what exactly the distressed tugging of your heart meant.
It was what had dragged you from your own tent to Naruto’s, quietly and nervously. Kakashi was in his own tent, and you had been sharing with Sakura who was fast asleep. Having her by your side did nothing to calm the storm beginning to brew from inside you.
You had opened his tent timidly, doing your best not to startle him awake. He was fast asleep, on his side in fetal position hugging his pillow to him tightly. But when you spoke his name, your voice stirred him even from his deep slumber.
Naruto whispered your name, groggily, confused, but he’d know your voice anywhere.
Yawning, he sat up rubbing at his eyes, peering at you curiously. “What happened?” He asked.
“Can I sleep in here with you?”
If you were brave, then there were no words adequate enough to describe the courage that burned within Naruto’s heart. He was sure of himself, of what he believed. He would do anything to protect the ones he loved. He would do anything for you. You couldn’t think of a safer place than by his side.
“Yeah, of course.”
Relief flooded through you as you dragged your sleeping bag into the tent, fitting it next to his with some distance of course. You were best friends, but you were also twelve. There was something embarrassing about sleeping so close to someone of the opposite gender. But you couldn’t remember a time where you had ever slept more soundly.
And thus a new tradition had been born. For the whole year and a half afterwards, anytime you and Naruto were on a mission together, you shared a tent. Sure some of your friends teased you for it, and whatever jonin leading your team would shoot the two of you knowing looks as if they had some secret knowledge that you and Naruto hadn’t yet discovered.
But for you and Naruto, it was normal, as natural as anything. The two of you already spent all your time by each other’s side—it only made sense that that would include sharing a tent when on missions together.
It was only ever a tent though. It wasn’t like the two of you cuddled or anything. That was just embarrassing! Though you two were now out of the stage of believing in cooties, you were beginning to understand that there were some secret, unspoken rules for the way you were expected to act with the other gender. Ridiculous, arbitrary rules that were as old as time and didn’t account for the complexity that was the gender spectrum, but you didn’t understand any of that just yet.
When Naruto left, you were heartbroken, of course. Shattered even. You’d never known that it could feel like you had a hole in your heart until Naruto had taken part of yours with him. You dreaded the years to come of missing him.
But he had work to do and so did you. Naruto was going to get stronger and there was no way you would be left behind. Every time you missed him, you threw yourself into your training. The years didn’t pass quickly, but you found as time went on you were able to find other things that made you feel more whole even when you weren’t.
And just as suddenly, that void was filled. Blond hair and bright orange clothing filled your vision and kicked your heart up into your throat. You hadn’t expected to see him, but nothing could have made you happier.
You’d worried over the years that when Naruto came home, things would be different. Spending two and a half years apart changed things, and you had grown a lot. But you and Naruto fell into step together like he had never left, and just like that you had your best friend back.
But things had changed, though you weren’t going to admit that. When his blue eyes met yours, your breath stopped. Every time his fingers ran through his hair, it was like you were in another world. Part of you knew things were different, but you were never going to say it out loud. You buried your feelings deep within you, hiding your heart like a secret.
The thing that made you most nervous was when you and Naruto had your first mission together since he’d been back. You, Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi, just like the mission where you’d first shared a tent. You didn’t know what to say, embarrassed to ask if you would both share a tent like when you were younger. If that had been embarrassing when you were twelve, it was even worse when you were sixteen.
When your team stopped for camp Kakashi went to secure the perimeter and Sakura to gather firewood. You went to work setting up your own tent when you felt Naruto’s presence behind you. You turned to look at him. He was standing there, scratching the back of his head, pink dusting his cheeks as he looked anywhere but at you.
“I didn’t bring a tent…” He admitted sheepishly. “When we were younger, we always shared a tent, and I figured we’d just do that again… I can share with Kakashi, though, if it’s weird. I don’t mean to—”
“Naruto,” You interrupted him with a laugh, though the color on your cheeks now matched his. “Of course we can share a tent.” You told him, turning back to your work as you set it up. “Don’t be weird.” You weren’t sure if it was a message to him or to yourself.
Unlike everything else with Naruto’s return, sleeping by Naruto didn’t feel as natural as it had before. There was a tension, almost palpable, settling in the tent. It was as if there was a string attaching your fingers to his, and the more the string pulled you to him, the closer to your sides you kept your hands. You couldn’t know that he felt it too.
The mission was straight forward and accomplished quickly. As soon as it started, it ended, and your team was heading back to the leaf village, only a days journey away. You would stop around the same area you had the night before, camping for the evening before heading home at daylight. You and Naruto had barely talked the whole way.
That night reminded you of the one when you had first crawled into Naruto’s tent. The wind was roaring making it hard to fall asleep. It was winter this time, however, and you hadn’t accounted for the night being so cold. The clothes you’d chosen to sleep in did nothing to keep in your body’s warmth, and your teeth chattered audibly as you curled into your sleeping bag, back to Naruto.
When your name left his hips, it almost startled you. The two of you had crawled into the tent quietly, not even bothering to say goodnight, the weight of the change in your relationship that you could both feel hanging heavy between you.
“Yeah?” You found yourself saying back, almost too quietly for him to hear. Almost.
“Uh, do you wanna, I dunno, sleep in my sleeping bag with me?” He mumbled, the words coming out fast and bunching together. “It’s just really cold, and I’m afraid that your teeth are going to break from clicking together so hard.” He hoped the joke would make it less weird, that you would feel more comfortable.
The question choked you with something you didn’t have words for, a feeling that bubbled in your stomach, spreading warm and shaky throughout your body.
“Okay.”
You crawled slowly, oh so slowly from your bag to his. He tried to scoot to one side, to make room. He unzipped the bag just a little bit, enough for you to crawl in next to him before he zipped it back up. There wasn’t enough room for you to lay comfortably next to him. Your body was on his just a bit, head by his chest and your arms pressed tightly to your side. You felt frozen with excitement and nerves. This was as close to a boy as you’d ever been.
The silence seemed to go on forever, but it was just a few seconds. Naruto’s arm had been pressed motionless to his sides, but slowly he felt them thaw before wrapping around your body, pressing you to him.
“You can like, hug me, ya know? Or put your arms on me or something. Just to be more comfortable.”
You nodded, your throat dry as you tried to swallow. You unlatched your arms from your body, a hand going up to rest on his chest. It only took a moment or two to get comfortable, to feel like your body fit perfectly into his. Falling asleep in Naruto’s arms, that was the most comfortable you’d ever slept.
The next morning, there wasn’t an awkwardness. It was something else, something sweeter, shyer. The string pulled your fingers closer, and though your hand didn’t touch his, neither did it pull away. You’d never felt so giddy in your life.
If only you knew what it meant to Naruto.
Naruto couldn’t remember one time in his life that he had cuddled with another person. He was sure that he must’ve been held at least occasionally as a baby, but it wasn’t anything he could remember. No one hugged him as he grew, no one tucked him in at night or rocked him to sleep. Once, when he was four, Naruto had found a puppy that got away from its owner. Naruto scooped the small animal up, holding him in his arms. The puppy had licked him affectionately, and Naruto was embarrassed by the fact that the small action had brought him to tears. Iruka’s hand on his head was the first affectionate touch he could remember from another person. He’d thought his heart would burst at that moment. It was nothing compared to what he’d felt getting to hold you while he slept.
He’d heard people say that hugging could lower stress, elevate your mood, even help prevent you from getting sick. He’d never understood it. Naruto had occasionally hugged Sakura and gotten affectionate touches from his sensei as he got older, but sleeping with you was different.
He understood now what the experts meant when they spoke about the benefits of hugging. He could comprehend why romantic relationships were so important to people if they got to touch their partner every day. Cuddling with you that night had Naruto’s head reeling, high off an emotion he didn’t even have a name for. He’d never felt so close to another person, so connected. How had he survived sixteen years without this? How had he survived those two and a half years training without you?
It was a mix of emotions as your head hit your pillow that night. You were relieved to have been able to take a shower. A home cooked meal never tasted so good as it did after a mission where you survived off dried meats. The softness of your mattress definitely beat the cold hard ground. But, you realized, you would gladly spend a lifetime sleeping on the floor of the woods if you got to sleep by Naruto’s side.
It was too scary to think about these new feelings. You knew what it was now, that you didn’t just see Naruto as your best friend. You liked Naruto. Maybe even more than liked him. You didn’t know how this could have happened. How could you ever face him again? If he knew how you felt, your friendship would be ruined.
You had resolved to avoid him for the foreseeable future so that you could wait out the feelings. Maybe if you had some time apart, the feelings would go away, and nothing would have to change between the two of you.
Your eyes had finally started to flutter closed with exhaustion when you heard tapping on your window, startling you. Sitting up, you looked uncertainly towards the window before finally getting up and going to inspect the noise. Naruto’s face peering back at you from the other side was the last thing you expected to see.
Opening the window as quietly as you could, you willed the butterflies in your stomach to quell. “Naruto, what are you doing here?” You whispered, glancing back towards your bedroom door, sure that your parents would burst through at any moment.
Naruto looked sheepishly back at you, a bashful grin on his face. “Sorry, did I wake you?” He asked. Rolling your eyes, you did your best to bite back the giddy smile playing on your own lips.
“Yes, Naruto. I’m trying to sleep. What are you doing here?” You asked him again. Instead of answering, Naruto began climbing through your window, making a little too much noise. You shushed him with a stifled giggle as he fell to the floor. “You’re going to wake my parents,” You told him, trying to look stern. Naruto hopped back up to his feet looking at you embarrassedly.
“I couldn’t sleep…” He admitted, his eyes flickering from yours back to the floor. “I was wondering… Do you think I could sleep here tonight?”
The question hung between the two of you, innocent and unassuming. It wasn’t that weird, the two of you were thinking. You shared a tent on missions; was it that different sharing a bed?
“Yeah, okay.” You agreed, feeling breathless. Naruto was in his pajamas too, you realized, decked in a white t shirt and orange sweats. You turned from him, walking slowly to your bed, doing your best not to make any noise. “You have to leave before my parents are up, okay?” You whispered as you climbed back into your bed.
Naruto nodded enthusiastically, following after you. “I will, believe it!” He said a little too loudly for someone that wasn’t supposed to be there. You shot him a look, though you couldn’t help but smile.
Climbing into the bed after you, Naruto got comfortable under the covers, and the two of you laid next to each other silently. Staring at the ceiling, you wondered if Naruto could hear the sound of your heartbeat as it rang in your ears. This was fine. This was normal for two best friends.
You weren’t sure how long you laid there, more awake than you had been before. You closed your eyes, doing your best to get some rest and failing miserably. You were too aware of Naruto’s presence beside you. He seemed to have fallen asleep long ago if his rhythmic breathing was anything to go by.
And then, suddenly, you felt him rolling over. His hand reached out in the darkness, finding you and pulling you flush against his chest. His arms wrapped around you, holding you to him before his body went still again. You froze, looking up at his face. Was he awake? Had he meant to do that? It was impossible to tell with his eyes screwed shut.
You felt alive, truly alive, for the first time in your life. Nothing had ever felt so right.
The next morning, as promised, Naruto was back out the window before your parents woke up. The two of you had stayed in that position all night, and when Naruto began to shift awake, he looked at you with a shy, lopsided smile. All he said was a quiet “good morning” before he was sneaking out.
And there was no way to hide now that things had definitely changed. It was unspoken, but you both knew it. Neither of you knew what to say about it, didn’t know if you even should say anything about it. It wasn’t bad. It was good, better than good, but so new and unexplored for the both of you that you didn’t know how to approach the subject, so you said nothing about it.
It became a regular occurrence for Naruto to climb through your window every night to sleep in your bed. Each time he did, it became easier for Naruto to pull you into him as he fell asleep, and every morning when he left, you wondered how you had ever slept without Naruto’s arms around you.
All of your friends noticed the change between you and Naruto too, though no one said anything. They all exchanged curious glances with each other, seeing how easily Naruto touched you now and the way the two of you looked at each other just a little bit longer than you used to. But no one knew about your and Naruto’s extended sleepover, and so they all whispered among themselves, but said nothing about it to your faces.
When your parents decided to move back to the village that you had been born in, they gave you the option to stay in the leaf. You were only sixteen, but you were a ninja afterall. You were more than capable of making your own choices and taking care of yourself.
And of course you stayed. This was where your life was, where your friends were. Even more importantly, this was where Naruto was.
So when you told him your predicament, that you needed to find a new place to stay, he didn’t hesitate in offering to stay with him. You were sitting at his kitchen table when he said it, and he immediately began pushing things around the small apartment. “You see? We can put your bed here, and can move this over here…” He motioned to the space he had created. “It may be a little cramped, but at least until you can find something else?”
Of course your friends teased the two of you about your new living arrangements. Never when you were together. Everyone was insistent, desperate to be the one that got one of you to cave and admit your feelings for each other. For your part, you just smiled and said, “He’s my best friend.”
And that flew for a while. The same people that had been sure you and Naruto were meant to be began to wonder if they had it wrong all along, began to wonder if you and Naruto truly were just friends.
They didn’t know that you never got around to getting your own bed at Naruto’s house. That first night, you just shared his bed because you’d been doing it for so long. The same thing happened the next night, and the night after that, and the thought of getting a separate bed just didn’t seem that important. And anyways, you’d gotten used to sleeping by Naruto’s side. Naruto knew that if you got your own bed, he would just climb into yours every night.
You were only sixteen, but Naruto wanted nothing more than to spend every night by your side. He couldn’t remember a time in his life where he’d ever been so happy. There was so much on his mind all the time, the oncoming war, getting Sasuke back. And even with the chaos surrounding him, Naruto was at peace because of you. He had a confidence that everything would work out okay. He couldn’t imagine a scenario in which it wouldn’t.
It was the first time that Sakura and Ino had stopped by since you’d moved in that it was pointed out how unconventional your arrangement was. Sure, you both knew it wasn’t exactly normal, but it worked for the two of you. You didn’t see any harm in it.
Naruto was away on a mission when the girls had stopped by, needing to borrow something. When you let them in, they excitedly looked around the small studio apartment, wanting to see if and how you had changed Naruto’s place.
“Uh, where’s the other bed?” Sakura asked as you closed a cupboard, pulling out the tupperware they needed.
“Hm?” You asked, placing it on the table. “Oh, I haven’t gotten one yet. We usually just share.” You said it as if it were the most normal thing in the world. You’d shared your bed with Naruto so long, it no longer embarrassed you. You’d just never had a reason to mention it.
Sakura and Ino’s jaws dropped. They looked from you to each other, wondering if you were serious. You picked up on their shock, looking back at them sheepishly. “What?” You mumbled, feeling your face heating up.
“Are you guys, like, dating?” Ino placed her hand on her hip, looking at you expectedly. You shook your head.
“No, of course not. He’s my best friend! I just haven’t gotten my own bed yet. It’s not a big deal.”
“Not a big deal!?” Sakura exclaimed. “It’s a huge deal! You guys live together, share a bed together… you’re practically married!”
Ino nodded in agreement. “Sakura’s right. That’s a weird thing for two ‘best friends’ to be doing. It’s not normal.”
Sakura and Ino’s words rang through your head all day after they’d gone. Was it that weird? Sure, the whole thing had been nerve wracking at first, but now it was just part of your dynamic like everything else was. Of course you still harbored your feelings for Naruto, but you’d pushed them deep down, pretending they weren’t there in a bid to save your and Naruto’s friendship.
You were already in bed when he got back from his mission that night. He threw open the door, dropping his bag and sighing loudly. “Are you awake?” He called as he made his way to the bathroom.
“I am now,” You laughed, rolling your eyes as you heard the shower start. You yawned, your body tired despite how awake your mind was. It was a while longer before Naruto was finally ready to settle in for the night.
With a loud yawn, he dropped down on the bed beside you, stretching. “I missed this,” he said, turning over as he pulled the blankets over the two of you. He reached for you instinctively, a happy sigh leaving his lips as you cuddled into his chest.
But Naruto knew you better than anyone, and he could tell something was on your mind. “Everything okay?” He murmured against your hair, moments from falling asleep.
“Is this weird?” You asked him timidly, afraid to hear his answer.
Naruto froze for a moment before pulling away slightly, just enough so he could look down at you. “Is what weird?” He asked back slowly.
You shrugged. “Sakura and Ino stopped by today. They saw we share a bed and… I don’t know. They said it wasn’t normal.” You were afraid to voice the thought, but you couldn’t help it. The seed had been planted, and it wouldn’t stop growing.
But Naruto just rolled his eyes in response. “You’re gonna listen to them?” He asked with a small laugh. “What do they know about normal?”
“They said it was only normal for people that were, like, in a relationship. Not people that were just friends…”
Naruto was quiet, and you could tell he was mulling over the information, no doubt wondering--much like you were--if they had a point. He pulled away even more, and you could see in the moonlight that he was blushing. “Are we just friends?”
The words hit you like a freight train, knocking the breath straight from your lungs. You weren’t ready for this conversation. Things had been going so well, you’d been so happy and comfortable. You weren’t ready for things between you and Naruto to change, not yet. But now you didn’t have a choice.
“Do you want to be?” You whispered back.
The silence lingered, heavy and suffocating. You felt ready to cry. You loved Naruto. You didn’t want to keep it a secret any longer, but you didn’t want to lose him either. If he didn’t feel the same way… You didn’t know what you’d do. You couldn’t think of anything any more devastating.
Reluctantly, you brought your eyes up to meet Naruto’s brilliant blue ones. They were staring earnestly into yours, searching for an answer to a question he hadn’t yet asked. Slowly, shakily, he brought his hand up to your face, brushing your hair back. His touch was soft, barely there, and it sent shivers up your spine.
Finally, he leaned in to you, bringing his lips to brush against yours in a sweet, shy kiss. The motion was unsure, nervous. He’d been dying to do that for months now, and he had no idea how you would react.
Naruto’s kiss sent your head reeling. You’d always thought that kissing Naruto would send your heart racing, but instead it slowed, calming every nerve in your body.
When Naruto pulled away, he was wearing a grin that matched yours. “I’ve wanted to do that for so long…” He told you, stroking your cheek. You could only smile in response, pulling him in to kiss you once more
Naruto had gone his whole life touch starved and alone. Affection was so scarce, he hadn’t even known what he was missing.
Sharing a bed, sleeping next to you, kissing you goodnight. It wasn’t scary or unsure.
It felt like coming home.
