Hugs n Cuddles Avengers HC
Characters: Bucky, Steve, Loki, Nat, Clint, and Sam
Warnings: extreme fluff, talk of having a nightmare (Nat) but nothing specific
Summary: The Avengers giving you hugs and kisses and cuddles
Tumblr media
Bucky:
Bucky was touch starved after so many years in Hydra, so he loved cuddles, hugs, kisses and everything like that. You’d be cooking in the kitchen and he’d sneak up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist. He’d give your forehead a kiss and then rest his head on your shoulder and nuzzle his face into your neck. He’d stay like that the entire time you were cooking. Once you finished you plated up some of the food and took it to the couch. Bucky sat down first and then pulled you into his lap. You chuckled and smiled at your loving Bucky. You fed him some of the food, while eating it yourself as well.
Steve:
When Steve was sketching he’d get in a zone, where he wouldn’t hear anything around him, except for the alarm for a mission or your voice. One day you saw him sitting out in the garden, in the grass, sketching away. You didn’t know what he was drawing but you knew it would look beautiful. You silently walked on over, and sat down beside him. He still hadn’t noticed you, too focused on his sketch. He was even sticking his tongue out a little, he apparently did it as a kid too, according to Bucky. “Heya baby, whatcha drawin?” You rested your head on his shoulder. “Just the trees, they are really beautiful right now, but never as beautiful as my best gal.” He gave your head a kiss as you blushed at the compliment. You both stayed like that for a while, until Steve had finished his artwork. He then set his sketchbook off his lap to the side and replaced it with you. Both of you stayed cuddled together like that, enjoying the peacefulness and nature, that was until Bucky and Sam came out, bickering over who could throw the shield farthest.
Loki:
Both of you loved reading, and that’s how you spent most of your Saturday’s when there weren’t missions. Today was one of those lucky days that you could spend together, relaxing, and reading. You’d both started the day by sleeping in with some morning cuddles and a few kisses to go along with it. Loki then used his magic to get both of your books you were currently reading. Then you both got settled, Loki laying down, propping himself up with his pillows. You laid your head on his lap and positioned yourself perpendicular to Loki. Loki leaned down and gave you a kiss before getting engrossed in his book.
Nat:
Nat often had nightmares from her time in the Red Room. Before you came along she would wake up terrified and not go back to sleep, constantly on alert, a knife in her hand. That or she’d be crying from a memory of someone she killed. Now, with you, she’d wake up and you’d be right there to pull her into a tight hug, letting the tears hit your shoulder, and whispering sweet confirmations to Nat. Sometimes Nat would tell you what happened in her dream as you stroked your hand through her hair, while you both laid down in bed. Other times it was silent and you’d still lay, running your fingers through her hair, calming her back to sleep.
Clint:
Clint would be perching in the tower, on one of the spaces Tony had installed for him. Then you would walk in the room, walking over to under the perch. Clint would swing upside down, hanging by his legs, and give your lips a little peck. “Love ya my little bird,” he’d always say. You would smile and ruffle his hair, “love you too, my archer.” Giving him a kiss before he swung back up to his perch and you continued on with what you planned on doing.
Sam:
Sam was an amazing partner, and you guys always made sure to make time for each other, just the two of you. Both of you had busy jobs but every Friday night was movie night. That was until he became an Avenger. You understood that his new job had weird hours, and you were okay with that. While your Friday’s were still movie nights when Sam was home, most of the time they ended up being just you and your pet. Sam would always feel bad about it, and when he got home, that night would be a date night, and you would always get flowers or some little trinket from wherever his mission was located. Tonight was another Friday without your Sammy, you were more disappointed this time because there was a new movie you both wanted to see, and Sam had promised to watch it with you that night but he wasn’t home. You had fallen asleep about halfway through the movie so you didn’t hear Sam enter the house. He smiled sadly at your sleeping figure, knowing he sadly missed another movie night. He kissed your forehead and gently lifted you up, taking you to bed. “Sammy, you’re home,” you tiredly mumbled out. He chuckled and confirmed it was him, along with apologizing for being late to movie night. You waved it off, and said you’d do it tomorrow night, tonight was for cuddles. You both fell asleep after Sam got a shower, cuddled together, keeping warm.

Drunk Confession
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Word Count: 2.3k
Trope: Friends to Lovers
Warnings: Mentions of alcohol
Summary: Bucky gets drunk and confesses to you
Author’s Note: Please do not copy or translate my work. English is not my first language, so please understand grammar or spelling mistakes. This fic was inspired by the song, Drunk Text by Henry Moodie. I appreciate every feedback! Thank you for reading!
Tumblr media
Since Bucky joined the Avengers, you and Bucky have been friends for eternity. The two of you hit it off when you met, and considering Bucky a quiet person, as soon as the two of you you started opening up, Steve couldn’t be more surprised. You two would flirt whenever you had a chance, but both of you were scared to admit the feelings that were so obvious to the other team members. You and Bucky would be on missions together, fighting for each other’s lives, caring about each other’s safety more than anything. After successful missions, Tony would have a party, inviting nearly half the population of New York. As everyone leaves, and the team is the only member left, they would have small games like Truth or Dare, Seven Minutes in Heaven, and so much more, leaving Tony to wonder if he’s dealing with a bunch of seventeen-year-olds.
This mission was one of the last missions the team had to deal with at the Main base of Hydra located in Russia. The mission was over quicker than Tony’s plan, leaving everyone more time to relax.
When everyone returned to the compound, Tony decided to have a party just for the Avengers. He informed the members to wear something casual. Some left for their rooms, and some went to the medic to get superficial wounds patched up.
Tumblr media
“Let’s get drunk!!!!!!!!!!”
Peter shouted since it was his first party where he could legally be drinking. Tony looked deadly into Peter’s eyes, warning him to act like an adult, leaving Natasha to smirk. You weren’t feeling good and remembered that Bucky usually did not enjoy staying out at parties, where he is forced to socialize; you thought the two of you would be having a movie night in your room, but you were wrong. Bucky wanted to stay and drink, so you decided to go back to your room and sleep early, but as soon as you were about to leave, Bucky grabbed your wrist.
“Stay.. Please”
He told you with his puppy eyes looking at you, and you couldn’t say no. So you silently sat down next to him, where he held your hand and absent-mindedly drew circles on the back of your hand.
“Just get a room, the two of you! We have a teenager in this room.”
Teased Sam, earning a dramatic eye roll from Bucky and Peter.
“I’m not a teenager, look! I drink! I’m an adult now.”
Peter told Sam, showing him the bottle he had in his hands.
“Says who doesn’t even have facial hair.”
Muttered Tony. Steve and Sam were cracking up, and Peter was left annoyed.
Bucky never enjoyed drinking. Well, one, he couldn’t get drunk from his serum, and two, even if he did get drunk in some way, the hangover he had the next day and the blimming headache would remind him of the bloody chair. But for some reason, Bucky was drinking the Asgardian beer Thor brought as a present. You were worried for his sake by tomorrow, so you constantly whispered to him to stop drinking, but he wouldn’t listen.
“I just have a lot in my mind, Y/N… So just let me drink. I know the consequences ”
Bucky told you to calm you down as you were worrying too much.
“You can tell me what’s in your mind; don’t bottle them up just with alcohol.”
Bucky shook his head and drank up bottles of beer and strong whiskey. Realizing you had no power to stop him from drinking, you decided to let him be and have his way of controlling his stress.
Tumblr media
You talked with Nat as Wanda and Vision left to go to bed. You then realize that it is already two o’clock in the morning. No one seemed to be leaving soon, so you just continued the chat with Natasha and Clint, hearing about Clint’s family and Natasha’s sister. As the conversation continued, your eyes started to feel so heavy that you decided to head back to the room. As you were trying to leave, Sam called you out.
“Y/N, cyborg is too drunk to return to his room alone. Steve’s too drunk, and obviously, I’m too terrified if I ‘invade his privacy.’”
Sam mentioned sarcastically, and you nodded. You remembered Bucky hated people entering his room, even when it was just for help, and you were the only exception in the team.
You excused the both of you, nearly carrying Bucky back to his room.
“Bucky, you’re too drunk!!! I told you to stop drinking.”
You scolded Bucky, but he just widely smiled at you.
“What are you smiling at, mister?”
“You.”
He replied so simply yet in a flirty way that made you blush.
While he was rambling stupid stuff, you had already carried him to his room and tucked him into bed. He grabbed your wrist when you were about to get him a glass of water to wake him up.
“Y/N? Did I ever tell you I’m in love with you?”
Your eyes widened. You developed a crush on Bucky for about five months now, but you were too terrified to tell him your feelings and get rejected to lose a best friend, so you had to hide your feelings deep down. But Bucky confessing his feelings to you while he’s half asleep? Your head was running miles an hour, but Bucky’s voice stopped you from overthinking.
“I’m madly in love with you, Y/N. Maybe I fell for you the moment I shook your hands, or… when you came into my room with cookies at 4 am when I woke up from a terrible nightmare, or even when you threw yourself in front of me to protect me from a gunshot, only to get yourself hurt. I think about you all the time; I think about you while eating lunch, I think about you before I go to sleep, and I think about you as soon as I wake up; you might think this is creepy, but I want to be with you, and I’m too scared if you’d find me too broken, that you’d find a reason to leave. I wanna have you so bad…”
You held his hands and kissed his forehead. You kept telling yourself;
‘He’s drunk, he’s drunk, he’s drunk’
“Buckaroo, you’re too drunk. Let’s get you to bed and talk about this in the morning, Okay?”
Bucky nodded and let go of your hand.
“Now let me go get you a glass of water. It will make you feel better a bit.”
You went to the kitchen, made a glass of water, and returned to his bed, but you couldn’t find him anywhere.
“Buck? Bucky, where are you?”
You turned on the lights and saw Bucky sitting on the couch, playing random chords on his guitar. As Bucky had therapy sessions, he was recommended to learn an instrument or make a hobby unrelated to fighting, and he decided to learn the guitar. Having YouTube, he could learn guitar in his room without anyone knowing. But sometimes he would play some chords and sing you some songs.
“Y/N, come here. I’m not drunk.”
Bucky’s voice sounded calm, which made you wonder if he wasn’t drunk. He wasn’t slurring anymore, and his eyes seemed more alert than a while ago. You followed his instructions and sat down beside him, and he started singing a song.
I wish I was who you drunk texted at midnight
Wish I was the reason you stay up ’til 3
And you can’t fall asleep
Waiting for me to reply
I wish I was more than just someone you walk by
Wish I wasn’t scared to be honest and open
Instead of just hoping
You’d feel what I’m feeling inside
Oh, and here we go again
Destroy myself to keep a friend
Hiding away, ‘cause I was afraid you’d say no
I wonder if I cross your mind
Half as much as you do mine
If I tell you the truth
What will I lose I don’t know
I wish I’d sent you that drunk text at midnight
I was just sacred it would ruin our friedship
But I really meant it
I wonder how you would reply
Bucky finished singing. He sang the last verse, nearly asleep, and as soon as the song finished, he fell asleep on the couch. You were left flabbergasted, feeling an undescribable feeling in your stomach. But you noticed if Bucky spent the night like this, he’d probably be in misery in the morning, so you decided to take the guitar away and at least make him comfy on the couch, with cushions and blankets. As you lifted his head to put the blanket below him, he brought you down and nuzzled into your neck. You were surprised and tried to get out of his grip, but he pulled you closer as you tried to escape, sending shivers down your spine. You fell asleep in his arms, and it was cozier than you thought.
Tumblr media
You woke up earlier than Bucky and decided to make him breakfast because you knew he’d have a massive hangover when he woke up, so you prepared to create him a bowl of oatmeal with sliced banana and chicken noodle soup just in case.
Soon, you heard Bucky tossing and turning around the couch, and soon, you saw him wake up. He looked exhausted, with his hair all over the place. He frowned as he looked around his room, but as his eyes landed on you, his frown turned into a colossal smile.
‘See? He doesn’t remember a thing; he was just drunk. Let’s get over it.’
You thought to yourself.
“Good morning, Bucky; you were so drunk yesterday, like really drunk. I was scared you’d blow up.”
“Good thing I didn’t.”
“I warned you not to drink that much! You hate drinking, Buck!”
You warned him, and he nodded. You offered him a glass of water to save him from his misery. You were about to return to the kitchen to finish the food, but Bucky pinned you.
“You said we’d discuss it today.”
You tried to put on a normal face, acting as if you didn’t remember anything from yesterday.
"What?"
You questioned innocently as Bucky was about to pour his heart into you.
"I'm in love with you. Can you be my girlfriend? I was in love with you forever. And I was scared I'd lose you. I... I love you so much."
You were utterly dumbfounded. Words left your mouth. You thought it was the alcohol speaking, not himself, but as you see him all sober up, you realize it was him all along. As he confessed his feelings to you, the space between you was filled with silence, and the few seconds felt like a million years of them.
You were in shock and internally screaming from joy, and Bucky was so nervous not hearing a word from your mouth. He started overthinking, worrying if he had just lost his best friend, just from his stupid emotions that he couldn’t help but keep to himself.
"I- If you don't wanna be with me, it's totally fine. I respect your decision. And- and if you want me out of your life, I will walk out of it. And if you, if you hate me, you can, and- and... I'm sorry for ruining everything like this. I shouldn't have said that. I'm so sorry. You can leave if you like, I won't bother you with my stupid jokes, I won't sing you weird songs, I won’t keep you awake at night from nightmares, and- and”
He was rambling, and you stopped him with a deep kiss. As your lips crashed with his, his eyes widened and pushed you away in shock.
"What was that? Why did you kiss me? Just to rub it in that I'd never have you?"
You loved seeing him so nervous in front of you. The Bucky that everyone in the compound knew was a man with no emotions who was always stiff and private, but seeing him in this state made you smile. He looked so adorable. He was so adorable that it made you question how he could be a deadly assassin.
"To show you I love you too idiot."
You replied, hoping it would stop him from wandering in his thoughts that were running miles an hour. Bucky was momentarily speechless and pulled you in for another deep kiss.
“Does this mean you’re mine?”
Bucky asked while he pulled you in closer and nuzzled into your neck.
“Yes, idiot I’m yours. I’ve always been yours.”
You told him in between kisses. His tongue entered your mouth, and your tongues moved in sync.
“God, this is the best day of my life. I’ll never let you go Y/N”
He whispered.
Bucky was on top of you, and he started to kiss your neck, leaving a trail down to your clavicle. You whimpered and loved every single second of it.
“Don’t you smell something burning, doll?”
Bucky asked, and you realized the chicken noodle soup you left on the fire.
“Oh shit.”
You ran back to the kitchen, and Bucky followed you and hugged you from behind, snuggling into your neck as he absorbed your scent.
“You made something for me, sweetheart?”
“I did, ‘cause I know how much you hate headaches, and I wanted to soothe it for a bit. I wanted to make you feel better.”
“You want me to make me feel better? But you already are, baby.”
Bucky told you with a cheeky grin and offered to get food in the common-kitchen. You went downstairs together, having hands in hands, interlocking your fingers. Bucky’s face looked better than ever, and Tony gave you death glares as he silently asked you what happened overnight. You just smiled at him.
“Since when did cyborg wake up with a grin after a heavy drinking session?”
Sam asked, but Steve poked him when he caught on to what was happening. Steve gave Bucky a knowing glare.
“Maybe I like alcohol,”
Bucky whispered as you were having breakfast. Your spine shivered again, and you had butterflies in your stomach again. You realized that you weren’t just in love with him, you were in fact, madly, in love with him.

part 1, extra: 1.5
Tumblr media
“So, how've you been doing these past few weeks?”
“You don't have to make small talk to me, Natasha. I enjoy the silence.”
“I ask genuinely. I barely even see you in the halls of the Complex. We only really talk on missions and we've had three since that happened.”
“Don't worry about me.”
“I just want to know how you're doing.”
You turned your head to look at the woman sitting next to you. The uncomfortable leather chair you two were in did nothing to appease the constant headache you'd been having these past few days. Natasha watched you with an arched eyebrow and her hands in her lap. You knew she was right, everyone was always right when it came to you. Apparently Bucky was right when he said everyone knew but you, and that spectrum extended to everyone always seemed to know how you were doing if only by the movement of your eyelids.
That's why you had begun to avoid people.
You spent more time in your room and in the Complex gym, doing research assignments for Fury that involved leaving the building, the three missions with Natasha (fully mandatory and against your will) and sometimes in the lab with Bruce when he needed someone to hold his canisters full of chemical liquids.
Fury and Bruce were the only people you tolerated lately. No funny looks, no awkward questions, no innuendo; just what they needed and goodbye.
But, that time, you did have to go out with Natasha. You weren't given the option to come on your own and it was understandable. A little bit. Even though you were trying to make amends for what you had done, not only on the mission a few months ago but also for what you had done to yourself for years, you didn't know that recovery meant you had to have a watcher on you at all times.
And what's worse, that watchman came with a bird.
“I'm fine, Nat,” you replied to her liking finally.
A short laugh from across the room caught your attention.
“Tell that to the tantrum you threw Fury so we wouldn't come with you.”
You gave Clint Barton a hard look, almost lying on the other longer couch as if he were admiring the earth from a cloud. He had one arm over his eyes which he had raised slightly to give you a mocking look, and one leg bent so that his foot was on the couch.
“I didn't throw a tantrum.”
“Fury, please, I know how to take care of myself. I don't need two bodyguards behind me all day. I'm fully capable of getting there and back on my own.”
Clint's poor imitation of your voice caused you an undercurrent of irritation, but you easily made the decision not to let it come out against him. It turns out that sometimes you could just shut up instead of exploding against others, crazy, right?
“First, I don't talk like that.”
“That's right. Lousy imitation, Clint,” Natasha had your back.
“Second, I only asked him once to let me come alone. I didn't beg him like a fool.”
“Sam told me otherwise,” Clint countered and you frowned. You felt the smile on his mouth.
“Sam's an idiot.”
“Sam's on Bucky's side,” Natasha mused.
And then, an awkward silence.
That was something you hated and still couldn't get used to. When people would say Bucky's name around you, the atmosphere would get strangely tense and suddenly everyone would go silent. It felt strange at first, but when Wanda did it you understood what was going on.
“Stop doing that,” you grumbled with a grimace. “I'm not fucking marble. I'm not going to crack from hearing his name.”
“We didn't say anything,” Natasha spoke again, her innocent little dove expression getting on your nerves.
Count to ten, Y/N, don't forget…
“You guys always go silent after you say his name like he's going to spontaneously explode. We're adults, you know? There are things to get over.”
“Wow,” you heard Clint mutter.
“Shut up, bird.”
Clint made a negative, game-like sound when you gave an incorrect answer.
“Three points off. Natasha and Clint are in the lead,” the man snorted as he rose from his position on the couch. You couldn't do more than give him another look, waiting for him to evaporate into thin air.
Natasha stirred next to you looking around at her surroundings, the dark colors of the room almost absorbing all the natural light coming through the few windows that were in the building.
“You haven't talked to him yet?”
“No.”
“Do you plan to?”
“I don't know. Maybe not.”
“Why?” Clint inquired, suddenly more interested in the subject.
“Because I don't feel like I give a s-”
Clint made the sound again.
“Two points off.”
“Clint,” Natasha reproached him with her tone of voice and the aforementioned only flashed her a smile. “It's been several weeks since you were last together. And you've had a lot of improvement-”
“That's debatable.”
“… don't you feel ready to talk to him?” Natasha questioned, completely ignoring Clint's intrusion into the conversation, again.
“I really don't know,” you admitted. “She told me I'm on the right track too, but just the thought of seeing him again after all those things he said… that I said…”
You sighed. Your gaze focused on the dark floor, a bluish-green hidden behind a black carpet with red, the most horrible carpet you had ever seen in your life.
“It scares me. I don't think I can do it.”
The woman let out an affirmative sound from her throat and the room became silent once again.
You almost let your mind begin to wander into memories, conjuring up the times when you felt like you were on top of the world when you were really about to hit rock bottom. But you quickly focused on where you were and what you were going to do there.
You were going to pick up Wanda. You had wanted to do it alone because it had been several weeks since you had last seen her. The last thing you told her was that you were going on another mission with Bucky and that you hoped it wouldn't end as badly as the argument you had that half the building heard. After that, she left.
She had made the decision to come and talk to Stephen Strange and had told you a few days before you left on what would be your last (official) field mission. She left the Complex the day after you left and all you had heard from her since then was that she was fine, that Strange hadn't locked her in a dungeon and that she was learning many things about her magic, especially how to control it to have power in things like her dreams. You still didn't know what those lucid dreams she had been having for a while had been due to, but judging from the letter you had received yesterday where she asked you to go to the Sanctum Sanctorum, it looked like she had gotten some kind of response.
When you told Fury what you were going to do, he didn't hesitate for a second to say that he would ask the Wonder Duo to accompany you. Clearly you balked, not as many times as Sam and Clint implied, but you didn't expose any more complaints to the Director's authoritative voice.
So, there you three were. Waiting for the wizards to appear from somewhere as you waited in one of the most horribly decorated rooms you'd ever seen.
“Sorry for the delay.”
The new male voice that echoed in the room startled you. You cringed and turned your head every which way until you came upon Strange's figure standing at the entrance to the room, not far from where you three were standing. Natasha and Clint remained unperturbed and you suppressed your desire to complain about the intrusion. You were the only one who hadn't heard him coming, apparently.
“Y/N!” you heard Wanda's voice.
You shot up from the uncomfortable couch the moment you saw her emerge from behind Strange's body. Quickly, you met halfway and melted into a big hug. You shifted from side to side trying to keep your strength and tears held back because of how much you had missed her.
“You look great!” was what she said to you the moment you parted.
“Don't lie to her, Wanda,” Clint exclaimed, and shortly you heard Natasha hiss in his direction.
“I've had better days.”
“I can't believe the day is here already! You have to tell me everything. What happened on the mission? What happened with Bucky?”
Again, the unpleasant silence.
“Why are you two making those faces?”
Wanda was watching the Wonder Duo right behind you and you couldn't help but let out a big exhale.
You turned to look at the only person who really gave a damn about your life.
“Thanks for everything, Strange.”
The man nodded in your direction. “It was my pleasure. Hopefully everything will be better from now on.”
Wanda waved goodbye to him as you turned around and pointed the other two people in the room toward the exit.
The other goodbyes were short and you were soon finding yourselves exiting through one of the portals opened by Strange, where you met the entrance to the Complex head on.
“Ah, magic. It makes life so much simpler,” Clint commented before starting to walk in the direction of the common room.
Natasha had the decency to bid you farewell and followed the bird's path at a tight pace.
“I thought they were going to join us,” Wanda mused, watching their figures walk away.
“No, they were just my nannies.”
“Nannies?” you saw her frown.
You watched the grimace on her face and almost have the urge to ask Sam to come give her a rundown of what had happened in the last few weeks since that last mission, but you mentally pulled back and offered a small smile to the confused woman in front of you.
“We have a lot to talk about.”
---
“Have you eaten today?”
The haze that clouded your mind slowly disappeared, your head barely registering the movements your body made to stay conscious. The soles of your shoes were too hard for your liking and you'd had to go sit down while you waited for Wanda to return. You didn't know how long it had been since that, but it seemed to be long enough for Steve Rogers to approach the cafeteria table where you were sitting with a tray containing the day's food.
“You look like you could use some of this.”
The blond gently pushed the tray until it was on your side of the table, and the smell of beef stew didn't take long to reach your lungs. It smelled good, to be honest. You looked down at the food and moved your hands to grab the silverware.
“Thank you.”
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I'm just waiting for Wanda. She went to talk to Fury.”
“I saw her coming in. She said she had a lot of things to tell.”
“She told me exactly the same thing.”
“And did you get to talk about anything before she left?”
You glanced at the fork in your left hand before looking up and meeting Steve's unconcerned face. You had learned very quickly that it wasn't too hard to get to know the captain in your position as opposed to how unreachable he looked to the rest of the population. He was a rough and tough man, but he would do things like bring lunch to a female shipmate who had a blank stare and sit down and try to chat with her.
He was good. Steve was good.
But he wasn't sneaky.
“If you want to know the verdict, talk to Strange. He's a close friend of Tony's.”
The man only sighed, his shoulders slumping in time with his breathing as if he'd been in alert mode all day.
“I didn't mean to sound so…. opportunistic.”
You rolled your eyes.
“You didn't sound opportunistic, Steve, you're just bad at trying to hide your curiosity,” you expressed with a small smile, but the man didn't look convinced by your words. “She's fine. She looks fine. She sounds fine. Whatever they had done, talked about or practiced, it surely paid off. I don't think you have anything to worry about.”
“She looked really scared before she left. You didn't see her. She asked me several times to communicate with you because she didn't know if it was a good idea to do that anymore.”
“She asked you that?”
“Yes. But the mission was very delicate, we couldn't risk it.”
You nodded in your direction, your gaze wandering back over the food.
“I just want her to be okay,” Steve mumbled and you almost missed the way his face contracted. His blue eyes found yours. “She's been through too much throughout her life and now this. It's like a joke of the universe.”
“She'll be fine. She has us. If she needs strength, she'll have plenty.”
Steve smiled, and then you took your first bite of beef stew.
You grimaced.
The blond frowned.
“Was the smell better than the taste, again?”
You nodded with your mouth full. Your hands went to the glass of water in the corner of the tray and you didn't hesitate to down the meat with all the liquid in it. You were almost never lucky enough to taste good lunches in that cafeteria.
“FRIDAY,” you heard Steve say.
“Yes, Captain.”
“Can you order a 12-inch tuna Subway on whole wheat bread with all the vegetables except the bell peppers and olives, please.”
“Right away, Captain.”
“That wasn't necessary,” you turned to the man as his gaze focused on yours.
“You can't go without eating.”
“I would have been able to place the order.”
“Mmm, really?”
“Of course! Do you think I waste the opportunity to spend Tony's money every chance I get? Even, I would have ordered more.”
“Oh, seriously?” Steve had a mischievous grin on his face and you furrowed your brow at his strange expression. “FRIDAY, make it three.”
You half-opened your lips.
“Sure thing, Captain.”
“Are you out of your mind?”
“What's with the attitude? It's Tony's money, isn't it?”
You hadn't heard that kind of boldness from Steve very often, and when it happened it was a complete event to witness. The man was a stickler, everyone knew him that way. He didn't understand the word rest and most of his free moments were only used to keep reconsidering attack strategies. Steve wasn't one to let loose and go with the flow very often, but when he did it was something to be enjoyed.
“You know he doesn't mind, right?”
And the moment was over.
“No? I thought he still hated me from lying to him about the book.”
“Uhm…” Steve fumbled over his words and you were amused at the way his features scrunched up. “He doesn't hate you. He was just angry. Besides, it's been a long time, he probably doesn't even remember that.”
“I think he's going to remember that until he dies.”
“Steve.”
You froze in place.
Abort mission. Abort mission. 911. Mayday, mayday, mayday.
Steve looked over your shoulder and then back up at you, your eyes on the embroidery of his brown jacket. You tried to keep your expression composed and sent him a smile of assurance that even you couldn't believe. But you couldn't do anything else. You couldn't break down at that moment. Besides, he would most likely ask the blonde to come with him and Steve would go. You wouldn't really have to deal with anything.
“He's really coming,” you heard Steve mutter in your direction.
Your face scrunched up in confusion, and you watched his expression of poorly disguised panic. You had told Steve only once, days ago, that you weren't ready to talk to Bucky at all. And, apparently, he had made it his problem too.
“Are you busy?”
You heard Bucky so close that a shiver ran through your body. It had been weeks since you'd last heard his voice. On that mission.
“No, I was just talking to-”
“Captain.”
But what was this, the all-call-Steve-at-once festival?
You sank back in your seat when you recognized the Director's voice. If he was there, it meant Wanda must be coming with him, and judging by the contractions in Steve's face, going from confused to incredulous to dumbfounded to flushed, your friend was most likely waving him out of there.
“A word, please,” Fury spoke again, and Steve barely let a second pass before he sprung out of his chair like a spring. He gave you a look and you could almost see the apology written in his eyes.
“Buck, I'm sorry- I mean, wait here for me.”
“What?”
“I won't be late, I promise.”
“I can wait for you in the living room…”
“No,” Steve contradicted him sharply. You caught a glimpse of his stiff expression out of the corner of your eye. “Wait for me here, can you?”
You didn't hear an answer, but you guessed it was positive when you saw Steve's face a little more relaxed. He looked back at you and barely gave you a nod before he started walking toward the exit. You turned in your seat to see him, and barely caught a glimpse of Wanda's triumphant face before she hid behind the back of a naive Fury as she saw your gaze on hers.
That woman really had no idea…
The chair Steve was occupying shifted and Bucky appeared in your field of vision. He was looking anywhere in the cafeteria before he was looking at you. And well, that was good, it gave you time to analyze what you had missed in those weeks without any communication.
He clearly looked calmer. Even though you two were forcibly put in an uncomfortable situation, he didn't seem to mind too much. He looked a little tense, you could barely make out a twitch in his jaw, but other than that he was pretty relaxed.
You didn't know how to interpret that.
The last time you had thought about seeing Bucky again (which was that very morning when Natasha brought it up) you thought that one of you would run away without even a second's notice. It seemed that the only one too scared about that reunion was you. Surely Bucky hadn't thought about it for a single moment since the last time you were face to face.
And his hair. He had cut his hair much shorter than last time. Its ends were directed to the ceiling and you could no longer mess it up if you ran your hands through it. It would rearrange itself in seconds. His eyes were still the same, clear and bright as the clear sky, his expression just as stoic and unperturbed, his body leaning slightly to one side with his hands clasped in his lap. Almost everything about him remained the same except for his hair.
And except he couldn't look you in the eye.
You looked down where the tray with the stew was still intact. You didn't have anything else to distract you with so you grabbed a vegetable and popped it in your mouth.
Turning your head away, you missed Bucky's gaze on your face analyzing the grimace of disgust you were trying to hide.
You swallowed hard and grabbed the water bottle so that it almost slipped through your hands. It was empty.
You almost threw up on yourself.
“Are you okay?”
You met his gaze and froze. His wary eyes were on your face.
“Yeah.”
“Doesn't look like that food is good.”
“Because it isn't.”
You shook your head and pushed the tray away from your personal space once and for all.
“Why don't you order something else?”
“Steve already ordered me something.”
“Oh.”
And silence.
You usually enjoyed the quiet moments, when no sound flooded the surroundings other than your own breathing and the ramblings in your head. You could really enjoy your solitude and the quiet it brought with it. But this silence didn't come with solitude, it came with tension, strain, uncertainty.
You didn't know if you felt you should say something or if you felt you should run away. If you stayed you didn't know what to say to him and if you left you didn't know under what excuse.
Bucky's light eyes met yours again after wandering his gaze for a while around the room.
“Wanda's back,” was what he said.
You nodded.
“We came with her this morning.”
“Yes, Steve told me.”
“We don't have to do this, you know.”
His neutral expression turned chaotic for a moment. Then he went back to being unflappable as if nothing.
“We don't have to do what?”
“This. Talk like it's nothing. It's awkward.”
“Ah. You find it awkward?”
You furrowed your brow at his genuine curiosity. For a moment you thought he was being sarcastic, but his eyes detailed your expression intently, waiting for an answer.
“Don't you?”
“Why should I?”
“Can you stop answering with questions, please.”
Bucky averted his gaze. He repeatedly ran his hands over his jeans.
“I'm sorry. If it makes you uncomfortable I'll keep quiet.”
“Still, you don't answer my question.”
“It's not awkward for me,” he finally said, his slightly tilted head pointed in your direction. “It's just normal small talk. Between two people.”
You hummed a nod and your head moved in sync.
“It's easier for you to pretend nothing happened.”
Bucky shook his head, attentive. He narrowed his eyes and it didn't go unnoticed the way you tensed your shoulders as the words left your mouth.
“I never said that.”
“It's just what I can glimpse.”
“What you think you see is not true. I'm not trying to feign insanity.”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot you're an expert at knowing what I think,” the words left you before you could process them and give them the proper filter, and you were sure Bucky had noticed the way your composure wavered for barely a second. If he had, he chose to ignore it.
You saw him twist his lips and lower his gaze, as if he suddenly felt distressed even though he wasn't the one who should be worried about something like that.
“You're angry.”
“And why would I be, according to you?”
“Maybe you were expecting a different reaction from me. You don't like what I'm giving you.”
You let out a laugh. “I never thought arrogant was your type.”
Bucky took in your gesture and mimicked it. Seeing a smile on his face after so long brought back images you thought you had sent far out into the ocean of your mind. Maybe you didn't feel your heart racing as it had so many times before, but you definitely felt something different from the fear and dismay that normally accompanied his memory. Even though you didn't want to accept it, you couldn't help but stretch a little towards that new sensation.
“I was joking. I have no idea why you're mad.”
The small smile on your face disappeared, and you allowed your head to wander down the paths of self-healing and self-improvement. Perhaps it was situations like these that your therapist always referred to. Stealthy confrontations that you usually used to avoid like rain, were the perfect moments to divulge a kind of self-reflection and improvement. To, perhaps, make known the emotions and thoughts you used to suppress and keep to yourself, the reason you had ended up that way to begin with. That was supposed to be what people normally did, to talk about their feelings…
So you just let it out.
“I'm not angry. I think I feel… embarrassed.”
“Embarrassed about what?” Bucky cocked his head to one side, his eyes scrutinizing your face as if trying to figure out if you were being serious or not.
“For confronting you.”
“Me?”
“Yes, Bucky. Here's to having you face me and confirming once again that you were right,” you rolled your eyes and took the moment to look anywhere in the cafeteria but into the blue eyes that wouldn't leave yours. “You were always right, I guess. No one else stood up to me like you did and I still lied to you looking you in the eye, wouldn't you feel the same way?”
The movement he made as he shrugged his shoulders drew your gaze, and met you with such a frightening familiarity that you felt old memories and feelings creeping up from the back of your mind to return to the surface. His calm gaze and tension-free body was what you had always been used to, and at that moment it was what you were seeing.
You didn't know how much you missed him until you saw it again.
“It's possible, yes.”
“The point is, knowing that doesn't make it any less complicated. In fact, it's a little harder to cope with. Being aware of the embarrassment… makes you more embarrassed.”
Bucky let out a short laugh. Your gaze didn't leave the way his corners turned up and then how his shoulders moved and his chest contracted in sync with that laugh. You hadn't noticed until that moment the change in the atmosphere around the two of you, much lighter and cozier, not at all hostile and toxic compared to the last few times you were together after the argument.
Mmm, maybe you were liking all that stuff about therapy. To be honest, up until that point you had discerned very few results, although some were quite important. Like, for example, you were able to keep your mind clear of self-destructive thoughts for longer, or that you could look at your past actions and reflect on them, determining clearly what things you were doing wrong and why it was wrong to do them. And there were many, many of them. Not just with the people around you, but more so with yourself.
However, in that moment, having Bucky in front of you and having been able to not only carry on a conversation for more than a minute with him, but also having been able to admit to him how you had felt and show true regret for what happened, you were able to understand that the change was much bigger than you had initially sized it up to be.
“It's serious. It complicates the process for me. That's why I didn't want to see you.”
He nodded without wiping the smile off his face. You could sense the understanding emanating through his gaze and, by the way he straightened his body, you knew he was going to give voice to the thoughts going through his head. Bucky usually kept his opinion of people to himself, he wasn't one to go around highlighting qualities in others unless he was asked or it was necessary for him to say so. Because of this, you could learn to tell when he was going to keep quiet about it and when he was willing to let it all out.
“Still, if it makes you feel any better, I can see you've come too far. Six months ago you wouldn't have said that to my face. I probably would have heard it from Sam who heard it from Clint when he eavesdropped on some conversation of yours with Wanda.”
You were really glad about what he just said, but…. what the fuck?
“Clint eavesdrops on our conversations?”
Bucky went blank. His features froze and the tension emanating from his body enveloped you both.
“Well… I only heard it once. Clint had said he'd upgraded the device for his hearing and was hearing three times as many things as he should. Among those things, he could hear you talking to Wanda in the next room.”
“I don't believe it.”
“There's nothing to tell you for sure that he did it again.”
“And how long ago was that?”
“Mmm, two years, I think.”
“Did he ever say anything to you?”
Bucky didn't answer for a few seconds, his gaze seemed lost in yours, with a solidity and strength too forceful for your tolerance. You suspected the answer was positive, but received the opposite.
“He only told me what had happened. He never told me if he understood anything he heard.”
“Uhm, you're good at getting out of tight spots.”
He gave you another one of those smiles that felt like home.
“I've had years to practice.”
The silence that followed his words was much more welcoming than before. You seemed to be able to move around the masses of air so freely that all the tension in your body could disappear in a gentle breeze.
“I'm sorry this was uncomfortable for you, but it was good to see you. And hearing you.”
“It wasn't that uncomfortable.”
“You're squeezing your legs under the table.”
You looked down, surprised, though you shouldn't be. Bucky had always been good at reading your body language. It was almost like it was his way of communicating. And yes, you were.
“You rocked from side to side. Your hands never stopped clenching in your lap. You were uncomfortable.”
“Still, I don't regret what I said.”
“I know.”
“Good.”
“Good.”
You had a duel of glances and you longed for that comfort you had been missing for so long. During those almost seven months of barely seeing him and not speaking to him, you had learned to appreciate the little moments in life. And you were surprised to think that before you thought you were living your life as you were doing at that moment, the present, but you were not. You learned the cruel difference between existing and living, and it wasn't hard for you to deduce why you had had such complicated moments in your life some time before.
You had never lived anything. You went through your life as a tourist and many times you weren't even in the picture. You tried so hard and constantly to convince yourself otherwise every day that it ended up tiring you out emotionally, and in the process taking everything out on the one person who tried to reach out to help you.
“Buck!” Steve's exclamation echoed throughout the cafeteria, just on time.
You turned to see him in the doorway, his raised hand gesturing for the man in front of you to follow him. Bucky stood up, but didn't leave before turning a glance at you with a warm smile worthy of summer.
“I hope to keep hearing from you more often.”
“We'll see if you're worth it.”

Hi, I saw that you request is open, so is it okay if I request a Natasha x fem!R in a secret relationship and Nat always leave a hickey in R's neck and the team kept on asking R where did it come from and R will answer "just a spider bite" and the team thought it came from Peter, but Peter denies it, until Nat calls R a pet name and they kissed in front of the team. Thank you!

Your breath hitched as you felt her soft wet lips on your neck.
“Natty, stop. You are going to leave a hickey,” you tried to sound annoyed but clearly you were enjoying the situation.
“Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to do,” you heard her mumble against your skin.
“Nat, they are going to find out if you keep on marking me,” you chuckled.
“I don’t care, detka. Let them know who you belong to,” you could hear the grin on her face.
“You are the worst,” you rolled your eyes.
“Yeah, but you love me.”
“Yes. Yes, I do.”
[...]
“Again. This time punch harder, Y/n. Imagine you're fighting for your life,” Steve said, trying to help you out.
Your head fell back in annoyance, you had been throwing punches at the punching bag for the last hour. Your arms were sore, your feet hurt from standing and you felt like you could just die any second now.
“Hey, what’s that on your neck?” you heard Bucky said next to Steve.
Your hand immediately went up to cover the hickey. You had tried your best to put some makeup on it, but clearly you hadn’t done a good job.
“What is it?” you tried to play dumb, which was no use. The boys standing in front of you knew better than that, they could see right through you.
“Looks like a bruise,” Steve raised his brow at you.
“Spider bite,” you mumbled.
“What was that?” Steve asked, not having heard anything you had just said. But Bucky had heard perfectly.
“Oh, nothing. It’s probably a mosquito bite,” you shrugged it off.
Steve and Bucky looked at each other. Sure, Steve may seem innocent and cute but he knew better, and that was no mosquito bite. Bucky could tell that it was a hickey even from a mile away. Still, they played along.
“Yeah, sure,” Steve shrugged it off.
“Come on, again,” Bucky said, nodding to the punching bag. Smile creeping on his face as knew he would use this new information later on.
[...]
“So, you two have been spending a lot of time together recently…” Tony said, entering the kitchen. There was something about his tone that sent a shiver up your spine. He was up to something.
Tony walked in while you and Peter were having an afternoon snack, you were helping him out with his homework. Well, you weren’t actually helping him, you were telling him everything about your relationship with Natasha while he was trying to do his homework. He was the only one who knew that the two of you were dating and was the only person who didn’t mind hearing you rambling nonstop about your badass girlfriend.
“Yeah, we have been training together, what about it?”
“Nothing at all, Barnes said something and I was just curious,” he said nonchalantly.
“What did he say?” Peter chimed in, finally looking away from his books.
He chuckled, clearly enjoying the situation, “Well, he said that the thing on your neck isn’t a mosquito bite, more like a spider bite,” he winked at the two of you.
You and Peter shared a look and a second later the two of you were laughing.
“You think he gave me the ‘spider bite’,” you said in between laughs.
“Y/n, they think we are dating,” Peter put a hand over his belly trying to hold back his laughter.
“Wait, you didn’t give her that hickey?” Tony asked seriously.
“No, Mr. Stak, what makes you think that?” the boy next to you said once he was done laughing.
“I just thought… Barnes said… But Steve thought,” Tony couldn’t say a word, confusion was written all over his face.
Just when he was about to say a coherent sentence another person walked in the kitchen.
“Hey, detka,” Natasha said and pecked your lips.
“Wait what?!” Tony screamed.
Soon enough more people found their way into the kitchen because of Tony.
“What’s going on?” you heard Bucky said.
“Is everyone okay?” Steve stepped in, always the gentleman.
“Nat’s the spider,” Tony simply answered.
“What?” the two of them asked in unisom.
“Y/n’s spider?” Clint chimed in.
“Yes. All this time I thought it was Parker,” Tony said in annoyance.
“I don’t understand why this is a big deal…” you tried to say but someone cut you off.
“Pay up, losers,” Clint cheered.
“What?” you and Nat complained at the same time.
“They had a bet. This is actually really funny,” Peter said, trying to hold back from laughing so hard.
“Goddamin it, Y/n,” Tony protested.
You watched as the three men gave each a fifty-dollar bill to Clint. You couldn’t help to playfully roll your eyes at them, they were like children.
“It’s okay, malyshka. Let them be,” Nat said before softly kissing your lips.
“Okay, yeah, that’s our cue,” you heard Clint say.

Secret Santa
Tumblr media
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x reader, Tony Stark x reader, Avengers x reader
Word count: 1060
A/C: Hi everyone! This is a Christmas fic I wrote. Thank you @lives-in-midgard for helping me with this idea. I hope you and everyone else likes how it turned out.
Masterlist | Main Masterlist
It was Christmas time and the avengers decided to play the Secret Santa game this year. Today you all gathered in the living room. Everyone wrote their name on a piece of paper, then they put their name in a bowl and each person picked a name from the bowl. When you saw which person you got, you were really desperate because you got Bruce Banner. You had no idea what to get him. You looked around the room to see the reactions of the others when they looked at their paper. You saw others cheering or smiling because they were happy. Were you the only person, who had no idea what to buy the person you picked? You would have known what to give to others like Natasha, Wanda, and maybe even Bucky.
You thought a lot about it over the next few days but couldn’t come up with an idea of what to get him.
Time passed and there was only one week left, and you still haven’t found a gift. Then an idea crossed your mind. Maybe Tony has an idea what Banner would like, you thought. You went to the lab where Tony was currently working and knocked on the door.
“Hey Tony”
“Hey” he said and looked at you with a smile.
“I hope I’m not disturbing you.” You said shyly.
“Oh of course not, Come in.” He said and waved you over to him. Tony stopped what he worked on while you walked over to him.
“I wanted to ask you for advice.”
“Since when does someone need advice from me?” Tony joked and you shook your head by this sarcastic joke, but Tony then went serious again.
“How can I help you?”
“It’s about the secret Santa game…I’ve got Bruce and don’t know what to get him.”
“Oh, I have the same problem but with Natasha.” Tony confessed.
“I think I know what you could get her.”
“And I know what Bruce would like.”
“I have an idea. How about you get a gift for Banner, and I'll get one for Natasha?” you suggested.
“That’s a great idea.” Tony agreed with you.

It was now finally Christmas, and you were very looking forward to the Christmas dinner at the compound and you were very excited to see which person got you by the Secret Santa game. You hoped that Natasha will like the present you got her and of course that Bruce likes the one Tony got for him.
You went to the living room to place your present under the tree. When you turned around, Natasha suddenly stood in front of you with her present in her hands.
“Hey, y/n.”
“Hey, Nat.”
“Are you also excited to see what you got?” Natasha asked.
“Yeah, definitely and you?”
“Me too, but I hope it’s not something stupid like the thing I got from Thor last year.”
“I bet you get something great.”
“I hope so.”

It was time for dinner, and you all gathered in the kitchen to eat the meal Wanda cooked. You were looking for a place to sit when Natasha waved you over to her.
“You can sit here Y/N.” She said and you walked over to her with a smile and then sat on the table next to her.
“Thank you for saving me this seat.”
“You’re welcome.”

After dinner you all went to the living room to give each other the gifts. Thor had Peter, Peter had Steve, Steve had Wanda, Wanda had Clint and Clint had Tony.
Then you gave your gift to Bruce. “Thank you so much, Y/N. This is exactly what I wanted.” Bruce said when he opened his gift.
“You’re welcome” you said and smiled at him, but you weren’t exactly sure what it is.
Then it was Tony’s time to give his present to Natasha. When Natasha opened her gift, she began to smile and was so happy about it.
“Thank you so much” she said and gave Tony a hug.
After that it was Natasha’s time. She picked up her present and walked with it over to you.
“This is for you y/n.” She said and handed the present to you.
“Thank you so much Nat.” You said and opened the present. When you saw the book you wanted for a while you began to smile and looked back to her. You thanked her again and then you hugged each other.

After everyone gave each other a present you watched a Christmas movie together in the living room. During the movie you looked over at Natasha who had a thoughtful look on her face.
Natasha was thinking about the present she got. She wasn’t sure how Tony knew that she wanted that. She didn’t tell many people about it; she only remembered you.
Then she looked at you and you looked at her at the same moment. You smiled at her, and Natasha smiled back at you.
After the movie ended you went to your bedroom. A few minutes later you heard someone knock on your door. You walked to the door, opened it and saw Natasha standing there.
“Oh, hey Nat come in.” Natasha walked in.
“I wanted to thank you for the present.” Natasha said and you wondered if Tony told her.
“How do you know it’s from me?” You asked.
“Tony would have never known that I like this and you’re also the only person I talked about it. So, I guessed that it is from you.”
“Oh, then you guessed right. It really was from me and I’m really happy you like it.” You said and silence began to grow between you and Natasha.
“Do you maybe want to stay and watch a movie?” You asked because you didn’t want her to leave now.
“Sure.” She said and you both sat down in your bed. You opened Disney + and then looked over to her.
“What movie would you like to watch?” You asked her.
“How about a Christmas movie? You can choose which one.” She said and you decided to choose your favorite Christmas movie. While watching the movie you sat very close to her and after a while you laid your head on her shoulder. Natasha placed her hand around your shoulder. You enjoyed watching the movie, but after a while you fell asleep next to Natasha.

Steve Rogers x Fem!reader
A/N This is one of the first fics I posted on my other account and I thought I lost it, luckily it just wasn't labelled. Comments, likes and reblogs are appreciated and all mistakes are my own so if you see any just comment them.
Summary You just got home from a long mission and you missed Steve (a lot).
DO NOT REPOST ON ANY OTHER APPS/SITES. THE ONLY PLACE THIS FIC IS ON IS TUMBLR.
Warnings fluff
To say you missed your boyfriend, Steve, was an understatement. You had just gotten back from a three-week long mission with Nat and Clint at an abandoned Hydra base to get some information on the winter soldier. Luckily, the mission was successful and there weren't too many problems other than a few traps that caught the three of you off guard since they were strategically placed.
However, you were missing Steve a lot. And although the mission was less than a month, and you had spent longer away from him, you were still missing Steve and his amazing hugs.
You could see Steve waiting for you as the Quinjet landed. As soon as the Quinjet opened, you were running towards Steve as he opened his arms to welcome you.
Steve groaned as he took the impact from you running into him and wrapped his arms around you as you wrapped yours around his waist. You both stayed like that for a while before you pulled back so you could kiss Steve in what felt like forever.
“I missed you so much baby,” Steve said, breathless from the kiss.
“I missed you too Stevie,” you gave him a chassed kiss on his lips before making your way to the floor you and Steve shared with Bucky so you could shower.
After your shower, you changed into one of Steve’s t-shirts and some shorts before going into the living room on your floor and joining Steve on the couch.
“Do you feel better now honey?” Steve asked.
“Much better,” you responded with a smile.
Steve lifted his left arm to rest on the couch behind you as you moved closer to cuddle into his side and rested your head on his chest. You stayed there for a while as you watched whatever show was on the tv until the end credits were rolling.
You looked up at Steve as he leaned in to meet your lips in a kiss filled with pure passion. You could feel butterflies in your stomach as your and Steve's tongues fought for dominance.

This romantic situation was then ruined by the sounds of retching coming from behind you. You turned around to see Sam and Bucky stood at the door pretending to gag at the sight of your and Steve’s affection.
“You’re just jealous that you don’t have anyone to kiss birdman,” you said to Sam which he responded to with a scowl.
“And you can't handle the fact that I've got a girl before you jerk,” Steve said to Bucky with a smirk on his face.
“Punk,” Bucky replied.
“Anyways we came here to tell you two love birds that food is ready,” Sam said, rolling his eyes.

You and Steve stood up and proceeded to walk with Sam and Bucky to the elevator.
“You two better not start making out in the elevator or else I won't want my food.” Sam said while crossing his arms.
“Jeez Sam were not animals,” you replied.

“I dunno if I believe you y/n. The things I've heard says different.” Bucky said with a disgusted look on his face.

“Come on Buck, we’re not that bad,” Steve was smiling because he knew that you both weren’t exactly quiet in the bedroom.
Once the elevator doors opened, the four of you walked out and into the dining room where everyone else was waiting for you. Everyone was sitting down and they had left four seats for you, Steve, Sam and Bucky to sit in.
You sat down next to Nat and Steve sat on the other side of you. You put your hand on Steve’s thigh whilst you used your other hand to eat.
“So y/n how was the mission?” Tony asked.
“It was alright I guess. Some of the traps were so fucking hard though.”
“Well Hydra treasured cyborg so I'm not surprised.” Tony responded.
“Hey! Don’t call me that. At least I don’t have to dress up in a stupid suit to become helpful.” Bucky snarled at Tony.
Tony just rolled his eyes before turning to Bruce to talk about sciency things that no one but them understood.
After everyone had eaten, you and Steve excused yourselves. You held hands all the way from the dining room up until you reached your ensuite where you both brushed your teeth. After that, you got into bed while Steve changed into some sweatpants.
Steve got into bed next to you and lifted his arm so you could rest your head on his chest. You leaned up so you could kiss him again before returning your head back to its previous position. You threw an arm over Steve's stomach and hooked a leg over one of Steve’s so you could be as close as humanly possible to him.
“Is there anything you want or need, baby?” Steve questioned.
“Just cuddles from you. That’s all I need Stevie.” This made Steve smile.
You kissed his chest and then closed your eyes as you slowly drifted into a comfortable slumber while listening to the steady beat of Steve’s heart.
“G’night Stevie.” you whispered sleepily.
Steve only heard your comment because of his super hearing and he let out a quiet chuckle.
“Good night darling,” Steve said although he knew you didn’t hear it because of your breathing which signified that you were fast asleep.

I don’t wike it
Tumblr media
Yours + Bucky’s Babies x Aunty and Uncle avengers
Warnings: FLUFFFFF
Word count: 395
This is so random, and I thought it was cute; I’ll probably have this exact scene at some point in a future actual fic. But for now, just imagine:
Steve’s babysitting his favourite God babies; your 6 month old twins and 3 year old son Steve jr. The team has been on babysitting duty while you and Bucky are taking a well needed break (they were happy to chase you away because now they get to play with your little ones all the time).
You’ve only been away for about a week and little Steve has already been spoiled beyond reason; Uncle Tony’s build him a custom metal arm he can slip on so he can be just like daddy.
A mini vibranium shield is in the making so he can be just like his Uncle Steve. He’s a hide and seek expert now, thanks to his Aunty Nat. They no longer play hide and seek because he’s impossible to find.
He has a little bow and arrow set from Uncle Clint. He’s definitely flown in the sky (that stays a secret between Uncle Sam and Uncle Tony)
The twins have been spoiled with a thousand cuddles and kisses, being passed around like hot potatoes while everyone relaxes around the living room. They also now have about 50 new onesies.
Everyone is obsessed with your little super soldiers.
But no one like Steve.
Steve has been an absolute baby hog, carrying a baby in each arm along with your son on his shoulders. There isn’t a minute he’s away from them and because he’s with them so often, he’s picked up a few things.
***
“Alright, Rogers, you’re going to lead the mission with the new recruits”
Steve groaned; it’s not that he didn’t like to work with new recruits but it was daunting having to keep an eye on them the entire time.
“I don’t wike it”
“What did you just say?” Tony cocked an eyebrow while everyone else snickered waiting for him to answer.
“I said I don’t like it” Steve shrugged, confused over why Clint was looking at him like he lost his mind.
“No, that’s not what you said”
“Yes it is”
“You said wike. Like tiny terminator does when Sam steals his animal crackers” Tony snorted, watching Steve blush.
“You see what happens when you hog the babies all the time? ” Nat smirked while Steve rolled his eyes, off to find his tiny playmate, he wouldn’t judge the way he says like.
“Yeah? Well I don’t wike this either”

Hello Hello & Congratulations
Recently gotten back into some Bucky feels & wanted to ask for him with lyric prompt 2 please! Made myself laugh with a friends to lovers idea where you're cooking for Sam & Buck & Sam slides a magnet into your back pocket cause obviously he's the best wingman (& tired of the pinning). Then I found comic panels with Buck & a little white cat & if that's Alpine!! & that first show prompt is open... Don't want to over ask but just know if it's down to the wire & no one asks for it...someone asked for it >.> Thanks for reading and stay hydrated!
Hi beautiful! Thank you so much for participating in the celebration and I’m so sorry it took me so long to post this! I LOVED this prompt and the little twist you gave it so much I wrote this in like a few hours. It’s short and sweet, I hope you like it💜💜💜
More Than Friends || Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary: Sam is tired of always getting caught in the middle of the flirting and nervous glances you and Bucky subject him to every time you're in the same room, so he comes up with a plan to give you two the little push you so desperately need to confess your feelings —and laugh at you along the way.
Warnings: set somewhere after civil war where team cap is on the run together, mutual pining, friends to lovers, fluff, humor, Sam being tired of your shit
English is not my first language
Word count: 2000
Notes: I'm pretty sure this one is gender neutral? but I wrote it with a fem reader in mind so I'll tag it like that just in case some description slipped my tired brain while editing

Sam was tired of watching you and Bucky dance around the feelings you two clearly had for each other. Sometimes he thought you were doing it on purpose, like some kind of elaborate prank to torture him as revenge for the times he made fun of you. It was the only logical explanation he could find for your attitude. Otherwise he didn't understand why you would continually refuse to face the obvious. You were in love and everyone seemed to see it but you.
Life on the run was torture when he was stuck with the two of you. Watching you two get flustered from being crammed in the back seat of the car, Sam really thought that maybe he should have taken the Clint and Scott route and made a deal with the authorities. Home detention sounded so much better compared to the heavy tension in the air that seemed to follow you everywhere. On particularly bad days - like that time a man flirted with you in a bar and Bucky was in a bad mood all day - even traditional jail seemed like paradise in comparison.
Sam had tried everything to help you. He used to leave you alone on missions, put you in the same hotel room under the pretense that they had no more rooms, even made you sit together in the back of the car when you traveled. But despite all his efforts, you were no closer to facing your feelings than when he started. Even his subtle comments and pep talks didn't help. Every time he even dared to bring up your feelings, you acted confused and dismissed his words. He had tried it with Bucky and with you separately and you both had had almost the same response, which only proved Sam's point.
The rest of the team was tired of you too, but since they didn't have to spend half as much time as he usually did stuck with you, they didn't care. Wanda would disappear from time to time to see Vision, and Steve and Natasha were usually together in their own little world, figuring out what the next step would be. Which left him stuck with Bucky, you and the unbearable tension in the air. That's why no one understood his suffering and therefore no one was willing to help him.
Steve and Nat had told him that he should give you time, that eventually you would figure out your feelings and everything would get better. But Sam was beginning to think that would never happen. You had been dancing around each other since the day you met and showed no signs of changing. He had done everything he could to help you in subtle ways —talking to you privately or creating certain situations without your knowledge— all so as not to expose you and embarrass you, but apparently that was exactly what you needed, for something to expose your feelings and force you to confront them. And he had the perfect idea.
It came to him suddenly as he watched the two of you struggling to get comfortable in the back seat of the car. It was way too small a model, clearly not meant to comfortably transport a super soldier, so Bucky ended up taking up more than half the seat. Sam watched as he fiddled nervously with his hands, adjusting his position every five minutes to make sure his legs didn't accidentally brush yours. And as the sunlight beamed on his metal arm, Sam chuckled to himself at the thought that maybe next time he should give you pants made of magnets just to annoy Bucky.
It was like a light switched on in his head. It was the perfect way to get back at you while helping you deal with your feelings. A hilarious idea all around that made Sam proud of his creativity. It wasn't hard to execute either, he just bought some magnets and waited for you to leave the bag with your belongings unattended to slip them into the back pocket of one of your pants.
Not knowing when you would end up wearing said article of clothing added a layer of spontaneity to the situation. Even Sam had forgotten which pants he had chosen and when he saw you emerge from your room in the morning he didn't even realize his plan had been set in motion.
It was the first time in a long time that you hadn't slept in a crappy motel. Thanks to an old contact of Natasha's, you were able to stay in a safe house that had several rooms, good water pressure and a large kitchen. It wasn't the Avengers compound, but it was much better than the places you'd become accustomed to living. So, to celebrate you decided to prepare breakfast for the whole team.
You didn't let anyone help you, the very idea of someone else hanging around the kitchen while you worked on the pancakes made you anxious. You weren't a great cook by any means, but you found it easier and more relaxing to work when you had total control of the kitchen. So you sent everyone to wait elsewhere while you finished cooking. Steve opted to go out for his morning run and Natasha went back to bed, mumbling something about being woken up when there was food on the table. That left you with Sam, who settled down at the kitchen island with a glass of water to chat and keep you company. And not long after, Bucky popped his head through the door frame.
"Bucky! Just the guy I needed right now!" you said with a smile as you saw him enter the kitchen, dragging his feet as he rubbed his eyes to shake off the sleep. "Breakfast is almost ready, could you get the plates from the cabinet, please?"
Sam didn't think much of it, only that he would have to prepare himself for a morning of uncomfortable looks and flushed cheeks since you were in Bucky's way and to help you he would undoubtedly have to get closer to you than he seemed to be able to handle normally. Sam didn't remember his little joke until he felt the unexpected gasp you let out when Bucky's metal hand made contact with your backside as he reached behind you for the cabinet. He nearly choked on his water, laughter getting stuck in his throat as he watched Bucky panic, not understanding what had happened.
"I-I didn't... I mean, I'm sorry, I..." The super soldier tried hard to form a coherent sentence, but his mind was short-circuiting and his cheeks were turning a vivid shade of pink as he pulled his hand away from your body with difficulty. There was an inexplicable pull that drew him to you, making his metal arm move of its own accord, seeking to cling to you again. Bucky had to take a few steps back from you to make sure that didn't happen again.
"Well, the cat is out of the bag. Finally!" Sam exclaimed with a mischievous grin that told Bucky everything he needed to know. "Although to be honest, I was hoping you'd find a more subtle way to confess your feelings, Buck. Or at least do it in private."
"You did this?" Bucky asked, though he already knew the answer. Sam simply let out a long laugh as he rose from his seat and disappeared out the kitchen door. "You're dead, Wilson!"
“What is he talking about?”
The sound of your voice snapped Bucky out of his angry state, his gaze softening as it settled on your confused expression. The urge to murder Sam faded as he panicked, searching for an answer to give you. This wasn't the way he would have liked to confess his feelings for you, but he couldn't lie to you either-Sam had made sure of that.
"I..." Bucky hesitated, having trouble finding the courage to tell you the truth. He could hardly remember when he had last been in that position of vulnerability, having to search for the right words to express feelings he didn't know how to describe. He was rusty, the skills and confidence that characterized his younger self had been buried in the past and now he had no idea what to say to you.
"Yes?" You spoke as he fell silent, looking up at him with glittering eyes waiting to hear that thing you'd been dreaming of since the moment you two met.
Bucky sighed, defeated. "I like you, doll, like more than just a friend." He said finally, cringing at his poor choice of words. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you to find out this way. It's just that Sam figured it out and has been pressuring me to talk to you about it and I guess he got tired of waiting and did all this to fuck with me."
Bucky was rambling, talking at a speed that was not normal for him. He was also having trouble making eye contact with you, his eyes looking at everything but you. You'd never seen him this... nervous. He was nervous. His cheeks turned a darker shade of pink with each passing second and he spoke so fast that his tongue threatened to get stuck halfway through each word. He was so adorable that you couldn't help but let out a giggle.
"I'm glad that he did." It took Bucky a few seconds to process your words, his flustered expression slowly morphing into a frown of confusion.
"What?" he muttered and you smiled.
Reaching into your back pocket, you pulled the magnet out. It rested flat in the palm of your hand as you got closer to Bucky. In an instant, his metal hand was on top of yours, cold against the soft, warm skin. You intertwined your fingers with his, your smile widening as he copied your movements.
"I might have to thank him later because, you see, I kinda like you too. And I've been trying to do something about it for so long but I just couldn't, so Sam kinda saved me there cause I was starting to lose it." You let out a chuckle and Bucky joined you, completely understanding the sentiment.
The room fell silent, but it wasn't awkward or uncomfortable like other times. Although you could still feel the tension in the air as Brucky's gaze traveled from your eyes to your joined hands, lingering on your lips for longer than necessary. He took a step toward you and your breath caught in your throat, your insides vibrating with anticipation.
"Can I kiss you?" His voice was a soft whisper. His warm breath collided against the sensitive skin of your face as he rested his forehead on yours, looking up at you through his eyelashes with a hint of desperation. He was waiting for your consent, needing to hear it from your voice before proceeding.
"Please." It was all you could say before Bucky's lips crashed against yours.
It was a soft, slow kiss. Bucky's lips moved with torturous sensuality over yours, a gentle brush that barely satiated your need for him. But despite that, you let him guide the kiss to ensure his comfort. Bucky wasn't usually comfortable with physical contact —not after all he'd been through— and you knew this was a big step for him. So you embraced the softness of his kisses, quieting that voice in your mind that was screaming for you to grab his face and intensify it. It was tempting, yes, but you would have time for that.
Bucky didn't pull away from you immediately when you broke the kiss. He kept his forehead pressed against yours as his flesh hand traveled upward to caress your cheek. He looked at you with complete adoration, his fingers gently stroking your skin, as if he couldn't believe what was happening, as if he was afraid of being too rough and breaking the fantasy into a thousand pieces. Then he let out a chuckle and a smile broke out on your face as you heard such a sweet melody.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, is just that... Sam is never gonna let this go."

Speak Now
Tumblr media
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x reader
Summary: It is Wanda and Visions wedding and you stand up to tell her your feelings.
Word Count: 1.160
A/N: Hey everyone! 💖This fic is inspired from my current fav song speak now by Taylor Swift. I hope you enjoy!
Masterlist
Wanda and you have been friends for a really long time. You were always there for her, always. When she missed Pietro, when the thing in Lagos happened. Of course, Wanda was there for you too and you spent a lot of time together. She was the person you could tell everything. After a few months you started to have feelings for her, but you didn’t want to tell her. One day she came to you and told you that she has feelings for Vision and asked you for help. That was the moment you knew that she doesn’t feel the same for you. Wanda and Vision went on a few dates and then came together. The months passed by and your feelings for her didn’t want to leave, so you thought it would be a good idea to go on a date with someone. You tried to date but you were always thinking about Wanda.
You were thinking for a while if you should tell her about your feelings, and you even talked with Natasha about it. She also thought it would be the best to tell Wanda, so you decided to tell her. Then the day came were you wanted to tell her. You were sitting in your room waiting for her to return when she came running into your room and told you that Vision proposed, and she said yes. You hugged her and told her how happy you are for her, but actually you were feeling heartbroken.
That’s why you were now sitting in your car about to go to their wedding. Feeling sad because you always daydreamt about the moment that you would marry Wanda. After sitting there for a few minutes, you opened the car door and walked over to the church. When you walked in, you saw all the other avengers gather around and talking. It was beautiful, very beautiful. Like she wanted it to be. You remember the nights when you were sitting in your room and talked about how your and Wanda’s dream wedding would be. “There has to be a lot of flowers, roses, all kind of flowers. And there needs to be a big cake, and my favorite songs should play in the background” Wanda told you. But Wanda was also sad that her dad can’t walk her down the aisle. After talking and thinking about that for a while Wanda decided one day that she wanted to ask Clint if he would like to do it. Clint was very happy when Wanda asked him.
Natasha was the first person who spotted you and walked over to you with a smile.
“Hey y/n.” Natasha greeted you with a hug.
“Hey, it’s so nice to see you, Nat.” You spoke. Because you moved out a few months ago you didn’t see her that often at the moment, but you sometimes went to the compound for movie nights or went to a coffee shop with her.
“Have you seen Wanda?” She asked.
“No, have you?”
“Yeah, and she doesn’t look very happy.”
“What really? It’s probably because of the stress, right.” You assumed.
“Or because Wanda is not sure if she really loves Vision.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Forget it, you know we always thought you two get together one day.” Natasha said and you started to lose yourself in a daydream. What if Wanda loves you and wished it was you? What if she was walking down the aisle for you today. A yelling from the back brought you back to reality. You and Nat looked at each other and listened carefully. It was Vision who yelled at Tony because something wasn’t going like it was supposed to be.
You had to think of Wanda and how this is surely not what she thought it would be.
When the organ started to play everyone sat down. Bucky and Steve sat next to you, and you gave them a smile. Everyone looked at the front where Vision and the preacher were standing. When you saw Vision looking directly at you, you could assume that you were uninvited by him. The organ started to play another melody, and everyone turned around. You could see the other avengers smile. But when you saw Wanda, it hit you. She looked so beautiful when she walked down the aisle in her white dress. Before she was at the front, clint, who was walking beside her whispered something into her ear. Then she saw you and gave you a light smile that also looked sad. What if Natasha was right and she doesn’t love Vision and wished it was you?! Maybe you should say something and stop her.
But you are not the kind of girl who should be rudely bargin' in on a white veil occasion. But she is not the kind of girl who should be marryin’ the wrong boy you thought.
You heard the preacher say "Speak now or forever hold your peace.“ Silence filled the room, and you looked around. This was your last chance to tell her your feelings. Without thinking it through you stood up with shaking hands and everyone looked at you with horrified looks, but you were only looking at Wanda.
You took a deep breath, closed your eyes for a second and then began to say.
"I love you, Wanda. I love everything about you. I’ve loved you since the day we first met but I did realize it much later. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I can’t do anything without thinking about you. So, if …if you love me too. Don't say yes, run away now I'll meet you when you're out of the church at the back door.” Then you turned around and ran out of the venue. You stood by the door and couldn’t believe what you just did.
“Shit, what did I just do.“ You mumbled to yourself when suddenly the door behind you opened. When you turned around you saw Wanda standing there in her beautiful dress.
“Detka, I didn’t say my vow. I’m so glad you were around when they said, ‘speak now’ ". Wanda said and you took her hand and kissed her.
“What do we do now?” She asked when you broke the kiss.
“Let’s runaway now.” You said, took her hand and started to run to your car. You opened the door for her and when you sat down you began to drive away. You turned to her, and you both had a big smile.
“Are you sure?” You asked her and hoped she would say yes.
“I’m more than sure. I love you so much.” Wanda said and you couldn’t believe it.
“I’m glad because I love you too.” You smiled at her, and she started the radio.
“Where should I drive us?” You asked after driving for a while.
“Wherever you want.”

Reminiscing on Clint and Vents ™️
To my knowledge the entire Clint in vents trope in domestic Avengers fics is not founded in any canon reason or instance (I believe our first introduction to Clint even ever being INSIDE a vent is from the Black Widow movie when Nat and Yelena are in that vent in Budapest) which isn’t to say that it’s a bad thing (headcannons are quite literally the bread and butter of fandom culture, but I think when taken meta textually this trope highlights a glaring problem with Clint Barton and Hawkeyes introduction and characterization throughout the MCU.
Which is to say his introduction and characterization was so botched by the hands of Marvel and their inability to juggle a multi-character story without picking favorites (probably corporate meddling to increase merchandise sales) that we literally had nothing to go on as far as his character at the end of Avengers. Zilch. Nothing. Nada. We had Nat and the scorching chemistry between Scarjo and Jeremy but that was it! And because of that we resorted to hand waving that the guy just climbed in vents because he like Obi-Wan likes the high ground. Like—
Think about it. We all already had a pop culture knowledge and in some instance entire movies about Thor, Tony Stark, Hulk (the old version), and Captain America. And even in those movies we had knowledge and an on screen portrayal of: Black Widow, Loki, fuck even Bucky. And yeah sure Hawkeye had a cameo in Thor but did we really get anything about his character on the same level that we got of Black Widow, Loki and Bucky that they got in their respective supporting roles? No. We got his smart mouth and Jeremy’s perfect acting.
And then the Avengers, where he’s brainwashed 98% of the movie?
Yeah it’s no fricken wonder the whole Clint in Vents trope was a thing in domestic Avengers fics—
We.
Literally.
Had.
Crumbs!
This isn’t a bashing of the trope of course but merely an opportunity to highlight just how butchered Hawkeyes introduction was and how Marvel utterly dropped the ball with such a wonderful character.
(And Jeremy Renner deserved better)
Anyway read more Clint Barton centered fics. They are great.
And for the love of god let that man out of the vents!

it's cold outside (natasha romanoff)
for @wokeupinawalnut - for the fic giveaway organised by @startrekkingaroundasgard. i apologise for how late this is, but i hope you enjoy & happy holidays🥰
summary: coming home to you is always natasha's favourite thing
Tumblr media
Natasha Romanoff hadn't expected your shared apartment to be so fucking arctic when she came home.
New York was cold at the best of times but it seemed bitingly so when the Quintjet came in to land early that morning. It was too cold even for snow and that just felt like insult to injury. Still though, it was hard for Natasha to feel sad about the weather, knowing that this mission was going to be the team's last before their Christmas break. The idea of getting home, switching off her phone and existing just in the plains of your apartment had been the only thing getting her through. So, after exchanging goodbyes with the rest of the Avengers, Nat hung up her uniform and got into a taxi.
Naturally, every would reunite on the day of Christmas at Tony Stark's insistence, but until then, they'd be off to their own homes. Steve and Bucky back to Brooklyn, Clint back to the farm, Thor back to New Asgard and Tony back to wherever it was that Morgan demanded. The journey for Nat wasn't very long - just over the bridge to your loft in Williamsburg. She'd lived there for the better part of three years now, when she'd come to stay the night a few weeks into your relationship and just never left.
The cold air hit her like a knife (and it was safe to say that Natasha might be the only person here who would know that feeling with accuracy). Even though it was early in the morning - just gone 7AM - you were passed out on the couch, a duvet bundled around you and several blankets. The TV was still on Netflix, the classic are you still watching? messaged displayed on the screen. With that, Nat could easily deduce that you'd probably fallen asleep watching it last night.
"Hey," she leant down beside you, gently brushing a hand over your face. A nice, warm hand against your freezing skin. "Hey. I'm back."
You peeled open one eye, a grin spreading across your tired face. "Nat, hey."
"Why's it so cold in here?" she asked.
"The heating broke," you grumbled. "I called the landlord last night but he's gone back to Arizona for Christmas. We still have hot water so that's...something."
"That explains it," she rolled her eyes. "You're freezing-"
"- Nat," you sat up, duvet falling off your shoulders. "You can turn off mum mode, okay? I know you've just spent a week straight with the guys but I am not stupid like them."
Natasha gave you a smile, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "You're right. Sorry."
"How was the mission?"
"Boring," she took a seat on the sofa beside you, laying her legs over yours. "We went in, got the intel we needed, came home. Textbook, really."
"But did you look good doing it?"
"Of course I did," she grinned. Natasha gave your leg a squeeze before standing up and sticking out her hand, head nodding towards the bathroom. "C'mon, a warm shower will help."
Begrudgingly rolling out of your blanket palace, you followed your girlfriend through the apartment and to the bathroom. If you hadn't missed her so much, you wouldn't have moved come hell or high water. Still though, a warm shower didn't seem like the worst idea. Natasha certainly wanted one after days of trekking through Siberia and honestly, she just wanted to hold you close. Seven days apart wasn't even the longest she'd gone without seeing you.
You stood there like a lemon with ease as she did most the work - just bubbles and soft kisses from Natasha.
The run from the shower to the bedroom was jarring. Clothes flew everywhere as you both ripped apart the wardrobe in an attempt to find the warmest clothes - you were more successful in your attempt, finding some thermal bottoms and a thick hoodie. Six pairs of fluffy socks later, you were content.
"Those are mine," Natasha scowled. "I was looking for those-"
"- they were in my side of the wardrobe," you replied, holding up your hands in defence. "Finders, losers, Nat."
"That's not fair! Those are my special warm socks!"
"Now they're my special warm socks."
Before you could even finish your sentence, Natasha had crossed the room and thrown you onto the bed. She pinned your arms above your head, hands wrapped around your wrists and hair dripping little cold drops of water onto you. You let out a shriek as she did, trying to wriggle free.
"Say your sorry!" she demanded. There was no point in arguing, or trying to wriggle your way out of the grip of a highly trained assassin. She was freakishly strong.
"No!"
"Say. Your. Sorry!"
You tried to fight back a laugh, gaze avoiding Natasha's. "No."
"You're so mean," she pouted. Still, she leant down and pressed a soft kiss to your lips, smiling against you.
Natasha rolled off the bed, once again signalling for you to follow after her. She made her way over to the kitchen, hands moving in autopilot to turn on the kettle and pull things out the cabinets.
"Shouldn't I be the one making you breakfast?" you asked. "You just came from a week long mission-"
"- shuddup and sit down," she said. "You're colder than me. Wrap up and I'll be there in two minutes."
Smiling to yourself, you returned to the sofa. It was perfectly indented from where you'd spent the last two days sat there, but you moved some cushions aside to make room for Natasha. As promised, two minutes later she returned with two mugs of coffee and a bagel for you. She'd known since the day you met how you took your coffee; she was trained to be observant but in some way, knowing the intricate details of your life was her love language. There were very few things she didn't know.
Natasha pressed a kiss to your temple, pulling the duvet over herself as she snuggled up next to you. She was perpetually warm - a curse in the summer but a blessing during times like this. You shuffled closer, leaning your head on her shoulder.
"You good there?" she asked.
"Yeah," you smiled. "Just glad you're home."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You looked in the mirror for the final time as you put on your jewelry and walked out of your room at the compound. Tony is having another one of his parties and said everyone has to attend that they can’t get out of it. You hated his parties as all anyone did was get black out drunk and sleazy men would always try to hit on you. If you were being honest, you only wanted one person to hit on you and that was a certain red head. Your relationship with Natasha was a weird one. At times she would appear stone cold, only interacting when you went on missions together or had team gatherings. Other times the two of you would flirt and play this game of cat and mouse. Lately, she has been around you more and has made flirtatious jokes along with lingering touches here and there. Your crush on the assassin was one that you can’t get rid of no matter how many times you told yourself she didn’t want you in a romantic way.
You sigh as you enter through the doors and look around you. Tony was at the bar taking shots with Bucky and Sam, already looking like he couldn’t stand on his own two feet for much longer. Steve was chatting with Wanda and Clint in the corner by the bar and Natasha was talking to some guy you’ve not once seen in your entire time of being an Avenger and living in the compound. You roll your eyes as you make your way towards the bar, already desperately needing a drink to get some alcohol in your system. You’re just going to stay at the party for one hour tops and make your way back to your room so you can lay in bed and watch the show that you’re currently watching.
“Y/n! so nice of you to finally join us” you hear Tony slur from beside you, a cup in his hand of God knows what. You stare at him as he stumbles and almost falls. “How are you already this drunk at your own party?” you ask him bewilderingly. He taps you on the back quite harshly, the sudden force catching you off guard as you almost spill your drink on yourself as you stumble forward in your seat. “Watch it Stark, I am not afraid to kick your ass” you glare at him as you put your drink back on the bar countertop. He raises his hands in defense and smirks at you. “Now now no need to get so aggressive, leave that for a certain red head” You roll your eyes and glare at him again but the light tint of pink on your cheeks gives you away.
“How about you shut your mouth because I have no clue what you’re talking about” you take a sip of your drink and turn away from him as you look around you once more. You smile as you see Wanda approaching you, inviting her with a wave of your hand to sit beside you. She smiles at you as she takes the seat next to you. “Is Tony bothering you?” she laughs at your annoyed expression when he quickly denies it. You ignore him as you smile at her. “When isn’t he? he’s so annoying” you say the last part loud enough so he could hear you. Wanda giggles and smiles brightly at you, and you can’t deny that she looks absolutely gorgeous when she does so.
“That’s Tony for you, i’m surprised you even showed up to the party” You smile at her and take another sip of your drink. “Well, he basically forced us and I didn’t want to face his wrath if I didn’t show up tonight, you know how he is. Besides, my company at the moment is very lovely” you slide your hand up her arm flirtatiously and you relish in the way she smiles shyly at you, a light blush accompanying her cheeks. You smile at her and get up, putting your hand out for her to grab.
“Would you like to dance with me?” she smiles and grabs your hand, walking the two of you towards the dance floor. “I would love to, cmon” The two of you dance together, her arms around your neck as yours go around her waist, her body so close to you that you feel her breath on your face. You have a feeling that someone is watching you so you look to the side and notice Natasha looking
in your direction, a hard glare fixated towards the back of Wanda’s head. You smirk as you pull Wanda closer, if that is even possible, as you whisper something in her ear. You see Natasha walking towards you guys from the corner of your eye, her eyes not once leaving yours.
“Hi ladies, so Y/n, I thought you said you were going to come find me so we could dance” you smile at her as you look into her eyes. “Hmm did I? I don’t recall, I was actually enjoying my dance with Wanda” her gaze is hard as she looks at you, her jaw clenched as she grabs onto your arm. “Well I guess it’s my turn now, sorry Wanda but i’m going to steal Y/n for a moment” before Wanda has a chance to speak, you’re being dragged away and out of the party. “What the hell Nat? what are you doing?” the wind gets knocked out of you as you’re slammed into the wall somewhere away from the party.
“Shut up. Did you enjoy your dance with the little witch? Tell me, or did you wish it was me instead?” she has that stupid smirk on her face that always makes you feel some type of way, her face is so close to yours you could almost taste the lipgloss on her lips.
Before you can say anything, her lips are on yours in a bruising kiss that makes your stomach swoop, the butterflies in your stomach going haywire as your brain finally catches up and you kiss her back with the same intensity. When you feel the need to catch air in your lungs so you don’t pass out, she pulls back first and cups your jaw in her hand as she stares into your eyes. “You’re mine Y/n, and i’m going to show you who you belong to” you two make your way to your shared room and stumble through the door, her lips on yours the second you close it shut. Your head feels fuzzy as all you feel and taste is her. You have been waiting for this moment for so long and you are going to enjoy every second of it.
You feel her hot breath on your neck as she kisses you there, leaving love bites wherever her mouth reaches, her hands on your butt as she squeezes you there. You run your hands through her hair and moan in her ear. “Nat please, I need you” you pant out as you feel her tongue licking your earlobe, biting it right after. You feel her sucking on your neck again, no doubt leaving many marks that will for sure be hard to cover up. You think she is trying to claim her mark, and the thought of it leaves you even more wet then you already are. She rids you from your dress leaving you in only your panties, pushing you towards the bed and laying you on your back.
She kisses you hard and shoves her tongue in your mouth, the feeling of her tongue against yours making the ache in your core start to feel uncomfortable . You need her now as the overwhelming feeling of her has become too much for you to handle. She kisses down your chest, taking your nipple in her mouth as she sucks on it. You can feel your slick running down your thigh as you are unbelievably wet for her. “Fuck nat, just like that, feels so good” she bites your nipple and kisses down your body, she lays down as she gets in between your legs. She slides off your panties and spreads your legs wide as she admires her view, breathing in your scent as her mouth waters.
“God you are so wet for me baby, you’re absolutely dripping. I can’t wait to taste your sweet pussy” she licks your juices from your inner thighs, your breathing picking up at the overwhelming feeling of her mouth on you. You run your hand through her hair and tug her closer to where you need her most.
“Please Natty, stop teasing me, need your mouth so bad” you mewl out breathlessly as you look down at her. She gives you a long lick from the bottom to the top of your clit, gathering your taste on her tongue. She starts to lick your folds, looking up at you as she sucks your clit into her mouth. “You taste so fucking good baby, the best pussy i’ve ever had” you moan loudly as her tongue hits you in all the right places, feeling her stick her finger inside you as she sucks on your clit again. “Shit you’re so tight, you feel so warm around me” she fucks you with one finger then slowly adds another one, moving them in and out of you expertly. You are dripping wet that once you adjust, you swallow her fingers as she fucks you deep. “F-fuck don’t stop, that feels so fucking good” she moans against your clit as your nails scratch at her scalp as she fucks you faster, the vibration making your eyes roll to the back of your head. Her mouth and fingers feel so good that you can’t think of anything else. You’re close and she knows it as you clench around her fingers.
She moves up your body and sucks on your earlobe as she fucks you deep and hard, as she whispers in your ear, her voice hot and raspy. “You gonna cum for me baby? Cum all over my fingers, that’s it baby, such a good girl for me” after a few more thrusts you cum hard on her fingers as a strong orgasm washes over you, your breathing is heavy as she rides out your high. You lay there panting as you try to catch your breath.
She slides her fingers out and you whimper from the loss of feeling, she brings her fingers to your mouth and looks into your eyes. “Open” you instantly obey and suck on her fingers, moaning at your taste. She bites her lip and gets up from the bed and takes off her clothes, joining you in finally getting naked. You bite your lip as you admire her, you’ve never seen someone more beautiful then her. You don’t know if your mind is just hazy from your orgasm but you think you see a hint of a blush on her cheeks and the thought makes your heart swell in your chest. “God Nat, you’re so beautiful” she smiles at you and joins you back on the bed as she kisses you.
You feel her slick against your thigh and the fact that she is so wet from only pleasing you makes you feel immense pride. She pulls back from the kiss as she bites your bottom lip. “Fuck I wanna feel you, i’m gonna grind on you baby. Wanna feel your pussy against mine” she spreads your legs as she hovers over you, grinding herself on you, the feeling of her wet folds against yours igniting a feeling inside you that you’ve never felt before. “Fuck your pussy feels so good, it’s like it was made for me” she grinds on you faster, her clit hitting yours perfectly as she glides back and forth. You’ve never scissored with anyone before, the feeling of her pussy against yours makes you feel so unbelievably dirty, you’ve never felt something as good as this.
Your eyes roll to the back of your head as she grinds faster, your legs slightly shaking as her pussy feels so good against yours. “God i’m gonna fucking cum, gonna cum on your pussy. Fuck you feel amazing, oh fuck i’m coming!” she sloppily grinds on you as both your orgasms wash over you, your body twitching as she rides out both of your highs, you are so sensitive that you can’t handle anymore. She breathes heavily as she looks down at you, your hair sticking to your forehead and your chest heaving, you’ve never looked more beautiful. She looks at you through hooded eyes and starts grinding on you again. You try to push her off as you’re unbelievably sensitive. “I can’t anymore Nat, ‘m too sensitive” she keeps grinding as she’s not far off from another orgasm. “Just one more princess, your pussy feels so fucking good against mine, fuck” both your clits were so swollen that the feeling of them hitting each other once more had you both so close to your release. “Yes yes yes, don’t stop Nat, i’m gonna cum” you were both so wet that squishing sounds could be heard in the air of the room as both your cunts rubbed together. “Oh fuck, Nat!” you scream her name as an even more powerful orgasm washes over you then the last one, your body shaking and twitching as she slumps against you, the both of you trying to catch your breath.
“That was amazing” she kisses you sloppily as she continues to lay on top of you, relishing in the warmth your body provides. You lazily run your hand up and down her back as you smile. “So not that i’m complaining, because i’m definitely not, but what brought this on?” her raspy laugh makes you shiver and she looks up at you from your chest. “I got jealous seeing you and Wanda all over each other. I know i’m not an easy person to understand but I have feelings for you and want to be with you. I didn’t want to lose my chance before it was too late” you can see the insecurity in her eyes as she gazes up at you, you know she isn’t always in touch with her feelings so for her to be vulnerable with you in this moment, means more to you then she will ever know. You smile softly at her and stroke her cheek. “I’m yours Natty, I always have been. I want to be with you and only you”
Secret Santa | Bucky Barnes (5th Day of 🎄)
Tumblr media
(Credits to the owner of this pic!)
We’re almost half way there! I hope I’m not boring you guys 😅 ya girl had a lot of fun writing this one!
Christmas Masterlist <- check out my other holiday fics!
~~~~
Christmas is one of the most wonderful times of the year. It’s a time to be with family, friends and the people who love you. It’s a time where people give back to those in need. It’s a time where the world seems like there’s magic in the air.
It’s also a time where one can express their true feelings towards a special someone.
Though that seems like it’s easier said than done.
My fear of rejection has always held me back ever since I first met you. You have always been so constant and loyal and patient and loving… It's no wonder why I fell for you. You are a true beauty, anyone with common sense could see that. I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to tell you how I feel ever since I realized how important you became to me.
Every year, Tony likes to throw a big Christmas party filled with multiple people who I don’t really care so much for, if I’m being completely honest. Soon right after that event, he’ll throw a small one reserved for family and friends only. There, is where we have our annual Secret Santa and every year I’ve been waiting to draw up your name.
This year, I finally did.
I held onto your box carefully in my hand, making sure I don’t accidentally misplace it while I anxiously fidgeted with my free one as I looked for you in the small crowd. I spotted Steve and Nat chatting at the mini bar while she served him a drink. Bruce was too busy talking to Tony about some new science experiment he’s been working on and wanted his input. Sam chatted away with Thor while playing a losing game of darts against Clint. Why he chose to go against him, I’ll never know.
It seemed like everywhere I looked, the one person I wanted to see wasn’t there. I bit my bottom lip as my eyes continued to search around the room.
“She’s not here yet.”
“Yeah, I know I just – …” I looked to my right and saw Wanda standing next to me, a knowing smile on her face. “Who are you talking about?” She just chuckled and raised a quick eyebrow. “You know who.. Sorry, I couldn’t help it. Your thoughts were just so loud and I had to come over and help quiet them down.”
I bowed my head in embarrassment. “Sorry.” She shook her head. “Don’t be. It’s kinda cute seeing the White Wolf fawn over a girl.” My head lifted back up quickly as she continued. “We never get to see this side of Bucky. It’s a nice pace from the constant brooding and staring contests you and Sam get into.”
“We do not – ”
“Yes you do, but that’s besides the point. Your girl isn’t here yet so I took the liberty of calling her and asking where she was before coming to talk to you. She’s a few minutes away.” She gave me a small smile as I returned one back to her. “So um with that being said.. how long have you..?”
She held her hand up to stop me from talking. “A while. You’re not exactly quiet or subtle with your thoughts.” My face must’ve been crimson red as she just laughed. “Oh my God..” I covered my face with my hand and shook my head. “I am so sorry about that.. um.. you – you haven’t – ”
“Don’t worry, Bucky. I haven’t told anyone, so your secret is safe with me.” She made a motion of locking her lips with her fingers and throwing away the key. “It’s not mine to tell anyway.”
“Thank you.”
She glanced around the room and softly hummed to herself. My thoughts must’ve been too loud and now I’m just paranoid at how long she has heard me. “I didn’t say anything before because one, I wanted to spare you the embarrassment and two, I was too busy freaking out about the fact that you’re in love with my best friend and I’ve been wanting you two to get together since forever.”
I laughed at the absurdity and held your gift close to my chest. “I’m not sure what to say. I’m embarrassed either way.” She turned her head towards the entrance and smiled. “You should fix your tie, Mr. Barnes. Ms. Y/L/N is straight ahead.” I followed her gaze and felt the literal wind get knocked out of me.
There you stood in a dark red dress that hugged your curves perfectly. The v-neck accentuating your assets in the best way possible and the way your hips swayed side to side as you walked more confidently my way made my brain short circuit. You look absolutely breathtaking. “You got this, Bucky. I’m rooting for you.” Wanda spoke as she left my side to meet you halfway to greet you in a hug.
I watched as the two of you started a short conversation. My gaze drifted up and down your figure. You seemed to outshine all of Tony’s expensive decorations as you chatted away with your friend. I guess you seemed to notice the way my feet were glued to the floor and you suddenly made your way in front of me.
“Hey, you.” You smiled and opened your arms, your gift bag swinging back and forth in your hand. “Hey, doll.” I smiled and embraced you in my arms, your perfume overwhelming my senses and becoming intoxicating. I want to dive my face deeper into your neck until I can figure out that sweet scent of yours.
God, what is it you wear that makes you smell so heavenly?
Pulling away, I noticed the gift in your hand. I motioned over to the bag and asked, “Who’s it for?” You lifted it up and proudly smiled to yourself. “Okay, don’t tell, but it’s for Thor. For a guy who’s so easily amused by everything, it was surprisingly difficult to find something.” You looked down at the box in my hand and pointed. “How about you? Who’s your secret Santa?”
“Uhh haha it’s.. It’s a secret.” I watched as your mouth hung open in surprise and couldn’t help but chuckle. “What? That’s not fair! I told you who I got.”
“That’s on you for answering! The whole point of a Secret Santa is to keep it a secret.” You rolled your eyes and crossed your arms above your chest. “I can keep a secret!” I hummed and shook my head. “Apparently you can’t.” I laughed and looked down at the box in my hand. “And besides, this gift is going to someone really.. special.”
I missed the way your face slightly fell by me being too busy looking at the gift that’s actually meant for you. “Well, I’m sure whoever it is, will love it.” Noticing the slight change in your tone, I glanced up and saw you smile up at me. “I know I would.” I could feel my heart wanting to beat out of my chest at the thought of you opening your gift and you finally realizing how I feel.
I quickly glanced at the box and debated if I should just tell you that it’s yours, before Thor made his way over to us and greeted you in a giant bear hug. “Miss Y/N! You finally made it!” You laughed in his embrace as you hugged him back. “I was beginning to think you would be too late to try any of the Asgardian deserts I brought with me. The tiny human of ants seems to enjoy them.’
“Oh, well if Scott is eating, I better quickly grab something before it’s all gone.” You smiled as you turned your attention back to me. “I’ll see you later?” I nodded and smiled, raising my hand up as if to say ‘go’. “Yeah, sure. Of course. You’ll know where to find me.” She nodded and followed after Thor. “Of course, I can’t help myself too and have eaten more than I’d like to say.”
“Okay, now I definitely need to grab something before you eat the rest!” Your laughter faded away as I stayed rooted in place. I know you’re friends with everyone here and I would never tell you who you can and can’t hang out with, but a selfish part of me just wanted one evening where we wouldn’t be interrupted and I could just tell you everything. The weight of the box in my hand suddenly felt heavier than before.
I sighed and made my way over to the mini bar. I sat the present on the counter next to me and looked up at Nat. “What’ll ya have, soldier?” She asked and raised an eyebrow. “Just a beer, thanks.” I leaned my head against my hand as I kept my gaze on the counter. She placed the opened bottle in front of me and I reached for it and took a swing.
“You doin’ alright there?” She asked once I placed the glass bottle down. “Mmm..”
“Very talkative tonight, are we?” She sighed and placed her hands on the counter, leaning forward. “What’s up?” I met her gaze and sat up. “Nothin’. Nothin’ I just.. it’s nothing.”
“Doesn’t seem like nothing.” She stated and tilted her head to the side. “Does your brooding have anything to do with a certain long red dressed girl sharing a whatever that is Thor brought?” I pinched my eyebrows together. “What are you talking about?”
“Your crush on Y/N.” She said simply as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “How do you know about that? Wanda swore she wouldn’t tell anyone!”
“She didn’t.”
“I didn’t.”
I heard two different voices at the same time as Wanda sat down on the seat next to me and Nat stood, smirking. “I figured it out on my own.”
“Oh c’mon..” I groaned and took another gulp of my beer. “You, sir, outed yourself.” Wanda spoke while holding her hands up as if to say it’s not her fault.
“So, now that that’s established, I’m gonna go out on a wild limb here and say that based on how close you’re keeping that gift box of yours near you, she’s your Secret Santa?”
“Nat, please, don’t overanalyze me. It’s bad enough Wanda knows my exact thoughts on how I feel. I don’t need you to tease me about it.”
“Hey, I’m not Tony or Sam. I won’t tease you about it ‘til the end of the earth” She joked. “I know how to keep my mouth shut.” I looked to my side and saw Thor’s arms around you, clearly enjoying and thanking you for your gift as you smiled against him. Seeing how happy you looked with him made me second guess if I should just quickly run out to go find something else to give you.
What if my gift was too personal?
“You have nothing to worry about, Buck. Trust me. Because it’ll be from you, I just know we’ll be hearing about it for weeks.”
That’s kind of what I’m afraid of.
Wanda nudged my shoulder and smiled. “C’mon Barnes, Steve told us how much of a charmer you were back in the days. You tellin’ us you can’t sweet talk our Y/N and show her your fun flirty side that I know is deep down inside?”
I chuckled nervously and shook my head. “Heh I – I don’t know. It’s been a long time since I’ve asked someone out on a date.”
They both shared a look that made me feel like I was out of the loop on some kind of inside joke. They seemed to be having a whole conversation in their heads as I sat in between them. Nat's eyes motioned over to me as Wanda tilted her head at me and I suddenly felt like I was being watched and very much exposed.
“You know, you’re both acting as if I can’t tell you’re talking about me.” I raised an eyebrow as Nat waved me off. I chuckled to myself and brought your present closer to me. I know my gift isn’t much and I might make a fool out of myself, but it was give me so much pride to see you show off –
“She won’t reject you.” I looked up at Wanda and furrowed my eyebrows together. “Just.. trust me. She won’t turn you away, in fact she might be very flattered and is dying for you to do something and, oh I don’t know.. make a move?” My eyes slightly widened as I looked back and forth between her and Nat as she just nodded her head.
My gaze found you leaving Thor’s arms and walking over to the back door, opening it and disappearing behind it. “Merry Christmas, Bucky.” Wanda said as I stood up, getting ready to go towards you before stopping my movements as something clicked in my head.
“You..?” She nodded her head. “I couldn’t figure out what to physically give you and I couldn’t go another day hearing you two pine over each other. So I thought of the next best thing, giving you the confidence to go get your girl is the best gift I could give you.” I gave her a smile as she swatted her hand back and forth as if to push me away and laughed. “I can’t wait another minute. Go!”
I quickly grabbed your present and started walking backwards. I couldn’t wipe the smile off of my face. “Thank you, Wanda! I owe you big time!” She waved me off as I turned around and made my way towards the door you just walked out of a few moments ago.
I firmly held the box in my hand and took a deep breath. I reached for the door handle and opened it, leaving the warm atmosphere of people chatting away while soft Christmas music played in the background and followed you outside.
The sound of the door opening and closing caught your attention as you quickly turned to see who now stood out here in the open with you. “Bucky.” You smiled at me. “What are you doing out here?”
“I could ask you the same thing..” I slowly walked closer and noticed small goosebumps on your skin as you tried to ignore the cold air. You hugged yourself, trying to keep warm as the wind blew your hair away from your face. “.. Coming out here without a jacket. Don’t you know how cold New York gets during winter?”
I unbuttoned my jacket as you shook your head, holding your hand up as if to stop me. “Bucky, no. I’m fine, really.” I slipped off my sleeve and switched the present to the opposite hand to slip off the remaining sleeve. “Mm-mmm, if my momma could see me now and see that I didn’t offer up my jacket to a beautiful girl to keep warm, she’d smack me on the back of my head and tell me off.” I chuckled and placed my blazer on top of your shoulders.
You brought it closer to your body and softly smiled at me. I can’t quite tell if the pink on your cheeks is from me or the cold, but I’d like to think it had somethin’ to do with what I just did. I couldn’t help the giddy feeling I had in the pit of my stomach of you wearing something of mine. “Thank you, but you didn’t have to do that.”
“I wanted to.”
“What if you get cold?”
“Doll, don’t you worry about me one bit. I’ll be okay, I promise you.”
We both smiled at each other as you gripped onto my jacket to help shield you from the cold. “By the way, you didn’t answer my question earlier. What are you doin’ out here?”
“Well, Thor suggested we bring out the karaoke machine and I needed to find a way out from embarrassing myself.” You laughed as you turned to look out at the night sky. The moon seemed to shine against your skin, highlighting how soft your features are. It makes you look like a goddess, that you’re too beautiful to even look at.
“Ahh, we wouldn’t want that, now would we?”
“Tony would’ve recorded it and had blackmail over my head for years! Poor Thor, doesn’t realize what he’s gonna get himself into.”
I laughed and wondered if anyone is tipsy enough to join in or if it’s gonna be a solo concert by our one and only God of Thunder. Here’s hoping he at least has a decent voice. “Ahh, he’ll be okay. He’ll have fun regardless.”
You softly hummed as you took a quick peek at my hand and noticed the present I’ve still yet to give. “I um.. I actually saw you walk out and was wondering if I could steal a little bit of your time? Without any interruptions.” You looked up at me and smiled. “Well… it looks like it’s just the two of us out here. I don’t think anyone is gonna come outside into the cold.”
“You did.”
“That’s besides the point.” You laughed and subtly glanced down at the present once more before meeting my gaze. “Somethin’ you wanna talk about?” I cleared my throat and raised my arm up to scratch the back of my neck. “Yeah, actually um.. I’d say it’s pretty important considering it’s about you.”
“Oh? Okay uh.. what’s goin’ on?”
I took in a shaky breath and held up the box in my hand, extending my arm towards you and watched your eyes slowly widen. “Merry Christmas, doll.” You hesitantly reached for the box and looked down at the pretty wrapping before tilting your head and meeting my eyes.
“Me?”
I nodded.
“You.”
You softly smiled and started unwrapping your gift, the sound of the paper ripping made me hold my breath in anticipation as I watched your reaction once you popped the small box open. Your lips parted as you took in my gift and I waited for any sign of discomfort or disappointment. You reached in and pulled out my dog tags, your thumb running along the metal engraved with my name.
“Bucky..”
“You’re always playing with them whenever I’m not wearing it and.. and I saw you slip it on once when you thought I wouldn’t notice. I just thought.. I thought that maybe you’d like to keep them safe for me.”
You stayed silent as you continued looking at my necklace in your hand. I tried analyzing your reaction, but my nerves wouldn’t let me be rational and my mind went straight to you not liking your gift. Suddenly feeling very exposed and cold, I quickly tried to rush out apologies if your present wasn’t something you would want.
“I’m sorry if it’s kinda shitty. I just figured you’d want it since.. I can just take it back and get you something else if that’s what you – ”
“No!”
I went to reach for the necklace but stopped in my movements at your sudden exclaim. My necklace held tightly in your hands against your chest, your body slightly turned away as if to protect it from being taken away.
“I – I mean..” You looked down at the piece of jewelry in your hands and held it up so it now dangled in front of the both of us as I waited to see what you would do. “I’m known to keep things safe..” You bent your head down and slipped the necklace on, as it now lay nestled against your chest.
You looked down and reached your hands up to it once again as you smiled. “Especially when it’s something as special as this.”
I smiled, finally feeling a sense of warmth spread across my face as I watched you admire something of mine and wearing it with pride. I slowly walked closer to you and lifted my left hand up, reaching for the necklace. My fingers ran through my engraved name, metal meeting metal, and softly smiled looking up at you.
“It looks better on you.”
I watched as your eyes crinkled with happiness in them and your smile continued to grow as I let it fall back against your chest. I reached up and pushed a strand of your hair away and placed it behind your ear as your head tilted towards my hand. I hesitantly held it centimeters away from your cheek as you lifted your hand to place on top of mine, bringing it down so I could feel you against me.
I watched you hold onto me and close your eyes, sighing in content. I slowly rubbed my thumb against your cheek as I studied every feature on your face, not sure when or if I would get this opportunity again. We were standing so close that I was almost so sure you could hear my heart beating erratically against my chest. “If you’re gonna kiss me, Barnes, you should do it before the moments’ gone.”
My lips parted in surprise as your pretty little eyes opened and met mine. I saw you glance at my lips for a moment as you slowly leaned your body in closer towards mine. I bent my head down and brought your face closer to mine. Your breath fanned against my cheek as you fluttered your eyes closed, letting out a soft, “Please..”
Who am I to deny you a kiss?
I closed the distance between us and connected our mouths together, your cold lips finally meeting mine and everything felt like it was slowly falling into place. Your body fit so perfectly in my arms and your perfume engulfed my senses once again. My shoulders raised up slightly in surprise once you brought your hands up to the side of my face and reached behind my neck, bringing me closer to you.
“Mmm..” I moaned against you when I felt your fingers comb through my hair and gave it a slight tug. You smiled into our kiss and held me there, as if there was any other place I’d rather be right now. I slid my hands down to your back and felt the fabric of my jacket you still had on.
I couldn’t feel the cold breeze blowing against me or hear the music coming from inside Tony’s house. I couldn’t focus on anything but you. Now that I finally got a taste of your lips, I knew I was in trouble. You slowly pulled away as my lips chased after yours, not wanting this moment to end just yet. You let out a giggle and pressed one more kiss before leaning back so you could look at me.
“Wow… merry Christmas to me.” You laughed and rolled your eyes. “Oh my God..”
I looked at your lips and felt myself wanting to go in once more so I could feel you again, but before I could lean in, you lifted your hand up and placed your finger against my lips. “We should head back inside. You may be okay out here in the cold, but I am not.” You chuckled as I lifted my hand up to grab yours and puckered my lips, giving your finger a little kiss.
“I could always find a way to keep you warm.”
“Bucky..!” You blushed and turned your face away from me as I laughed and held you close to me. “Okay, okay, okay..” I smiled and held your hand in mine, intertwining our fingers together as I looked down at my dog tags around your neck. Warmth spread all over my chest at the thought of you walking back in and showing off your gift to everyone. “C’mon doll, let’s head back inside.”
You held onto my jacket tightly against you as we both walked back inside, hand in hand. “In case I wasn’t clear earlier about my gift..” You spoke right after I closed the door behind us. “I really love it.”
“And in case I wasn’t clear about my intentions earlier..” I smiled and brought your hand up to my lips, placing a sweet kiss on top. “I would love to be able to call you mine..”
You smiled back at me and nodded.
I don’t care how much teasing I’ll get from Sam or Tony because in the end, I got the best gift I could ever get.
“I would love that.”
I got you.
