Tasha's POV
"Hey, Maria!" Natasha called.
Natasha noticed the subtle eye rolling of Maria. She squinted her eyes. It was unusual for Maria to act like that especially cause she's been helping her get to date you.
"What do you want Natasha?" she grumbled.
Natasha was taken aback by this. "Jeez, I'm just asking about Y/n." another eye-roll was given to Natasha. "Have you seen her? I haven't seen her on campus."
"Glad you noticed, Natasha" she sarcastically said. Maria feigned a thinking posture and started to glare at Natasha, "Let's see hmm" Maria said with diction.
"How about the fact that you've been ignoring her since you and Wanda dated and now she's gone off to Los Angeles leaving us behind because of you!" Maria gritted her teeth trying to contain her anger because you were in the hallway where students were passing around thinking Natasha and Maria were doing a secret drug deal.
"W-what?" Natasha stuttered. "I-I haven't ignored her."
"Save me the drama, Natasha. All you think about is yourself." Maria said.
Natasha was so confused. She didn't know what she did to you. She hurriedly texted you, hoping you'd give her some explanation but all was left delivered. That's not usually you. You always reply as soon as you see the message pop.
Natasha back reads you guys' conversation. Seeing if there were any clues on when are you going to LA or something that would hint at anything.
But all she saw was how she neglected you. She could see in every message how much you needed her. She missed your rants, your rambles, and everything that you guys would do when you hang out.
She broke her promise.
Y/n's POV
LA was different. The school was fine so far. No one dumped milk on your hair yet. No one made fun of you yet. And you were hoping it would stay that way.
The new environment was hard for you. It is hard to start a conversation with people when you don't know who they are. Natasha always does the talking. But somehow in this world, you are the one who needs to adjust.
Even if the people were friendly, throwing a smile at you or saying hi, somehow you still felt timid and awkward. You were scared to make friends.
Cause you know they will leave again.
Natasha did. What could any of these peer's differences be?
You cried every night knowing you had no one cared. That even if you consider them your best friends they will never think of you the same way. You were an option. You are a pawn to someone's real agenda.
You cried because you knew how much you cherished friendships. You knew to yourself that you would care and love people and go out of your way just to be there for them.
But somehow with you, it was always the opposite.
You are left alone, and when you thought someone cared...
She never really was.
Natasha's POV
She tried calling you a million times, even called your parents just to have a chance to talk to you. To apologize. But you were too far gone.
She may have found the love of her life but she left you. She left you feeling like she didn't care. She disregarded your feelings and put herself first. She took advantage of you.
Natasha regretted everything that she did. Everything that she broke. She knew how much you value friendships and she also knew how to break it.
There were no more Y/n. The laughter you shared is now a glimpse of memories that she wished would last forever. Love may have come her way but she didn't have to run you over just to find it.
You were her person.
But i guess...
Loving involves losing right?

Werewolves and vampires were always at odds with each other. Not a thousand years could go by without vampires attacking werewolves or werewolves attacking vampires. It was all the same bloodline ending bullshit. 'Your father killed mine and now I must kill you!' over and over again. Some of those fathers weren't even worth killing anyone over. It was truly a shame that no one could see how compatible the two factions were. Vampires were strict, organized people that valued loyalty above all else. Werewolves were nothing short of loyal and obedient, you just had to train them. Natasha was so close to finding the perfect werewolf for her to prove that. 
Natasha had tried many times to tame a werewolf, but she'd run into a number of problems. They could be taught, but not many of them were willing to learn— especially not from a vampire. As disappointing as it was, it wasn't exactly a shock. A millennium long feuds were rarely ever one sided. Her previous attempts were also foiled by pride, shame, and simply being too boring to have any real fun.
So, Natasha spent another Friday night on the prowl.
Club Sonar was a rather interesting place. A tall building in the middle of nowhere buzzing with all forms of life. Monsters from all over the globe came together under the moon just to party. It was a messy place. The music was loud, bodies grinded against each other without a care, and secrets of all kinds were shared over the strongest alcohol. Though cultures mixed, money did not. 
Each floor of the bar was more expensive than the last. The alcohol got smoother, the music got slower, and the floors actually got cleaned. Upper floors were for people who supported the cause but had no interest in getting dirty. Natasha had more than enough money to sit at the top floor, but that wasn't any fun. She'd never find what she was looking for if she stayed up there. 
Werewolves were just as wealthy as vampires, but they were rowdy. They liked to play rough and get dirty. Big fancy houses just didn't appeal to them as much. Fancy clubs appealed to them even less. Natasha wasn't looking to tame someone — not to say her hand couldn't be forced — she was looking for someone soft and easy to mold. 
You weren't the easiest to find. Despite your size, the people on the dancefloor had no trouble pushing you around. You kept your head down no matter where you went. Natasha could tell you weren't there on your own, which made it harder to take you home. Not too hard though.
"This really isn't your scene," she said when she took the bar stool next to you. It was hard to keep her eyes in the right place. Your shyness was adorable, but there was no denying what she was really feeling. 
You looked around to make sure she was actually talking to you.  Though you weren't opposed to the conversation, it was hard to believe such a pretty woman had approached you. "Um, no. My friends wanted to come here. I mean it's cool just…couldn't we have a library or something? There's no point in intermingling if you're too drunk to remember what you're kissing."
Natasha laughed and scooted closer to you. "I guess you're right, but there's no shame in being curious. Right?" She looked at the glass in front of you. "Oh, that just won't do." Before you could interject, she tapped the countertop twice and brought over the bartender. It was a quick exchange, you didn't even see Natasha pull out any cash. Despite your confusion, you didn't put up a fight. You were exactly what Natasha was looking for. 
Guilt filled your eyes when you looked down at the fresh cocktail in front of you. Was it more rude to let it go to waste or ask the bartender for a refund? "Oh, you really didn't have to do that." Your hands hesitantly wrapped around the glass before taking a sip of the alcohol. The burn hit you immediately, but you tried to play it off. You tensed up to hold in the coughing fit building up in your chest. "It's…great, thanks," you forced out through a tight chest. 
Natasha gave you a firm pat on the back to force you to cough. She took away the glass and slid this towards you. "I would expect a werewolf to have a stronger alcohol tolerance," she said teasingly. Her hand stayed on your back even after your coughing had subsided. 
You shook your head. "A lot of us have sensitive pallets. I can taste whatever crappy oak barrel they made this in." There was an unexpected comfort in the way she touched you. "I should have asked this earlier, but what's your name?" You sat up straight as her hand moved down your back. You never really paid attention to your posture, but you had the strange urge to be better around her. 
"My name's Natasha, but you can call me Nat if you want. What's yours?"
"My name is Y/N. I don't really have a nickname, but whatever you come up with is fine." 
The conversation continued without trouble. Natasha seemed so enamored with how strong your pallet was. At the expense of Natasha's wallet and your sobriety, you had tasted just about every drink the bar had to offer. Eventually, you settled on just drinking strawberry daiquiris while you two talked. 
Natasha pulled your seat closer to her and she leaned down to whisper in your ear. "So how many more of those little smoothies do I have to buy to take you home with me?" Her hand slid up your thigh and gave it a firm squeeze. She could feel your dick twitching already. "I promise I'll only bite where it feels good."
You practically jumped out of your skin when Natasha kissed your neck. It was quick, but you could feel the pointed tips of her fangs brush against your skin. "Um..Can I finish this one first?" Before Natasha could say anything else you pulled out your phone and texted your friends. 'Leaving with a hot lady, ttyl!' was all you sent before cutting off your phone and downing the last of your drink. 
Natasha adored your enthusiasm. "I promise I'll get you home safe in the morning." She kissed your neck one last time before dragging you outside to her car. It was a good thing she brought her chauffeur along because there was no way she'd be able to keep her hands off you the entire ride home. 
You stumbled behind Natasha as best you could. Vampires were usually weaker than werewolves, but you were a little too tipsy to show your strength. You let Wanda push you into the backseat of her car. One sniff of the air and you could tell someone else was in the car. "You have a chauffeur?" Natasha covered your mouth and pushed you further into the backseat. 
"Home," was all she told the driver before closing the partition and focusing her attention on you. "Yes, but I promise the back of the car is soundproof." It certainly wasn't, but she needed to hear how whiny you could get. Natasha practically pounced on you after she closed the door. The kiss was hot and passionate. Your fangs bumped against hers every time your lips collided. "Can you taste what I drank earlier?" She asked with a giggle. 
A whine escaped your lips when Natasha pulled away. "Um…a lot of vodka and cooper..?" Your answer earned you another kiss. Natasha's lips felt like heaven against yours. She overwhelmed all your senses in the most delicious way possible. You didn't even notice how hard you'd gotten. "You smell…really good." You mumbled in the handful of seconds between kisses. 
She chuckled but didn't respond. You were too cute. "I'm going to make you feel so good tonight." Natasha's kisses moved down the side of your jaw until she reached the base of your neck. Her hands wasted no time undoing your belt and tossing it on the car's floor. One of her fingers circled around the tip of the tent in your pants while she watched you squirm. "You're so sensitive."
You opened your mouth to speak only to be interrupted by a string of cursing and desperate whimpering. "Sorry, I'm just new to all of this," you confessed. It was a little hard to imagine your first time going to a bar would take such a turn. 
"Don't tell me someone as cute as you is still a virgin." Your silence was enough. It was as arousing as it was disappointing. Natasha didn't want to go slow by any means, but the thought of getting to corrupt that innocent little mind of yours was exhilarating. "I promise I'll be extra gentle with your little friend." 
The car parked before Natasha could pull down your boxers. Natasha's lust-driven craze left you in quite an awkward position while waiting for her to unlock the door. You hoped Natasha wasn't secretly vampire famous or else you'd be in real trouble. 
Natasha pulled you into her home and wasted no time undressing you. Your shoes, shorts, sweater, and T-shirt littered the soft carpet. The day you met Natasha is engraved into your memory as one of the happiest days in your life because even though you didn't know it then, she would become a more significant part of your life than you could have imagined.
It's a slow day in your flower shop, but it's nice to take a break from the rush you always have during summer and early fall - also known as peak wedding season. There are still weddings throughout the rest of the year where you will be providing the flowers, and you have an appointment today for one of those.
A few fresh bouquets are now proudly standing in the front of the store, waiting to be picked up and gifted or put in a vase and be the center of attention in every room they'll be standing in. There's still a little time before your appointment, so you get a binder with different photos ready, sweep the floor, and tidy up the rest of the store.
Not much later, the tiny bell above your door rings, and you turn your head to see a long, broad-shouldered blonde man and a small but equally strong-looking woman next to him. You instantly recognize them as Captain Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, and Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow—two of the original six Avengers.
''Hi, and welcome to Blooming Garden!'' you say in a cheery voice as you put the broom to the side, ready to greet them properly for their appointment. As you approach them, you take in Natasha's slender form, and you can't help but feel a warmth coursing through your veins and settling on your cheeks as you shake Natasha's hand and introduce yourself.
Her eyes roam over your body, admiring the dress you're wearing. It is a very flattering dress, perfectly accentuating every curve of your body. When she looks at your face, she can't help but feel like she's looking at an angel, as your soft features instantly make her feel like she came home. Your soft, pink lips give a graceful smile before you lead the way for the appointment, which is over too soon for her liking.
Steve paid the down payment for the flowers they had chosen, and after one last goodbye, they walked out of the store, leaving you behind with a bit of an empty feeling in your chest, like something was missing. It turns out Natasha had the same feeling, too, and not long after, the little bell rang again, and she walked back in, this time with her number written on a small piece of paper.
''If you want to go out for coffee sometime, you can text me on this number,'' she says before quickly running out the door again and on her way to her emergency mission. She couldn't leave without leaving a piece of herself behind, afraid she would never see you again if she didn't go back. Ultimately, she's thrilled she did indeed go back.
That same evening, you sent her a text, and even though it took a few days for her to reply, your heart skipped a beat when you saw her name pop up on your phone screen. You met for coffee and even went on a few more dates after that until you couldn't take it anymore, and you asked her to be your girlfriend.
You're visiting Natasha at the Avengers Compound today, and even though all the Avengers knew you and Natasha were friends, they didn't realize just how close you two were. They accidentally walked in on both of you as you asked her to be your girlfriend.
She's seated on the couch, her back against the plush cushions of the large piece of furniture, and you're straddling her lap with both your knees on either side of her legs. Her fiery red hair hangs loosely around her head, and you can't stop running your hands through the soft locks. Her hands are placed on your waist as she occassionally tickles you, pulling a fit of giggles from your chest that she will never get enough of.
''Nat, stop! I can't ask you to be my girlfriend if you keep tickling me!'' you say between giggles, and when you notice her eyes going wide, you instantly realize what happened.
''A-Are you- I mean, you want to be my girlfriend?'' Natasha asks, a hint of insecurity laced in the way she phrases the question. Your face drops at her words, and you guide your hands to cup her cheeks, looking straight into her eyes as you carefully express your following words.
''Yes, I do want to be your girlfriend, more than I've ever wanted anything in my entire life. Being with you makes me feel like I can be myself, and life is just a little brighter with you around. Whether we're hanging out together in my flower shop or doing silly things anywhere else, there's no one I'd rather want to do that with than you, Nat. So, what do you say? Will you make me the happiest woman in the world and be my girlfriend?''
She looks at you with pure love and adoration in her eyes, and she nods her head before leaning in to capture your lips in a soft, gentle kiss that has both your hearts soaring. At that time, you didn't realize all the other Avengers had an entire show because they were curious about the giggling from the living room not long ago.
They all start clapping and whooping in excitement, and you pull away before burying your face in Natasha's neck, a broad smile adorning your face. From that moment on, you two are practically inseparable, and being away from her during her missions is always a challenge, but the reunion is worth it every single time.
Nearly four years later, Natasha plans to take the next step in your relationship. She never thought about getting married, but you have shifted something inside her that has her wanting to call you her wife. Whereas she previously never cared about anyone that deeply, you have shown her a love she never even thought existed, and she wants to bring your passion to the next level.
And so, after a few long months of planning, the day has finally arrived. The engagement ring is in the pocket of her jeans as you're taking a stroll over the beach in Florida, where you're currently for a weekend getaway together. Your fingers are laced together, and your sundress flows in the soft breeze from the ocean.
''Printsessa, can I talk to you about something?'' Natasha asks as she stops you in your tracks before going to stand in front of you. The sunset casts a beautiful light over both of you, and Natasha's hair has a fiery glow, making her look even more stunning than usual.
''Of course, is something wrong?'' you ask with furrowed brows, but she kisses your lips softly to calm your mind before starting off her story.
''Some souls instantly click. Words can't quite explain whether you're lovers, best friends, soulmates, or something so special. You accept this person for everything they are, and they would never let you be anything other than your beautiful, imperfect self. These are the souls you encounter and know in the first moment that you were supposed to cross paths,'' Natasha starts, and there are already tears welling in your eyes as you realize what's happening.
"Your presence makes me feel safe and calm like I am home whenever I'm with you. You're undoubtedly the most special I've had the privilege to love - no distance, time, or person could come between our bond. Your kindness, softness, sincerity, and unconditional love make me feel better because life is better with you in it. Your soul is my happy place, comfort, sunshine, and everything, and I could not imagine life without you in it. And because of that, I want to ask you something.''
Natasha lets go of your hands before wiping away some of her tears, sinking on one knee after getting the ring out of her pocket. The sunset casting an angelic glow over you makes the moment perfect.
''Y/N Y/L/N, will you make me the happiest soul in the universe and become my wife?''
''Yes, Detka, I will marry you!'' you exclaim, and when the ring is put on your finger, she jumps up and wraps her arms around you, pulling you into a breathtaking kiss that has your heart going a mile a minute from pure excitement.
When she pulls away, the realization sinks in, and the happy tears can't stop flowing down your cheeks. You're going to marry the love of your life, and you can't wait for the entire world to know how much you love each other. Life was great before you met Natasha, but this moment completes it.
You both continue your walk down the beach, walking into the sunset together. Today marks the start of the rest of your lives together, and you can't wait to see what life will bring your way.

Your big question always was. Who created Horror movies, thinking that was the best thing ever invented?
You were good at avoiding horror movies the best you could. How couldn't you? When it was your sworn enemy, nothing else in life scared you like those stupid horror movies.
Like for what good reason would you run towards the person who is out there to kill you. You always got frustrated at those movies and honestly wanted to be there to literally show that person a quicker way out.
But at the end of the day, if they did what you wanted, there would be no movie at all. So the best you could do was avoid them.
So, with the peace of mind that no horror would happen to you anytime soon. You enjoy the day that has been presented to you. You were out on a mission for couple days now and you couldn't wait until today was over.
Natasha had promised you that she would be waiting for you with a romantic evening. You were thrilled and excited to see what your girlfriend had prepared for you.
Natasha, on the other hand, was skeptic with your way of acting. She wanted to test it out. She planned a very relaxing evening for you when you're back.
Candles, perfect dinner, relaxing bath with her, massages and then relaxing in bed whilst a movie played in the background. Of course, it had some horror, nothing that would ruin the mood.
And that's exactly what happened. You had ate the most delicious dish you have ever tasted, that she has actually cooked. The way she has dragged you away with a smirk.
She always loved admiring your body, she knew how insecure you felt sometimes about it, and each time she always made sure she paid extra attention to everything about you.
The way your body reacts to her hands gently touching you. How there are always goosebumps when her hand traces circles on your stomach before she lowers herself.

She pulled away, leaning her forehead against yours. Letting out a soft sigh. "You deserve all this Y/n.."
You couldn't stop yourself from smiling. Even if the water was slowly now getting colder. The warmth you felt from Natasha was enough to make you want to stay there longer.
You looked at her, those piercing green eyes that stared so perfectly into yours. "Oh Tasha..."
"I love you so much..." You were so whipped for this woman, that sometimes you wondered if she had enough of you.
"I love you too дорогая (darling)" She spoke just above a whisper.
You always loved it when she spoke Russian. It made everything sound and look perfect. "Say it in Russian.."
Her fingertips slowly made their way down to your body that was under the water. Wanted to feel those goosebumps that she always knew to expect.
"Я тоже тебя люблю, дорогая" She repeated herself but in Russian, quickly leaning in and placing a soft kiss.
She loved these moments with you. "We should get out before we both get sick from the cold water.."
She had to ruin the moment, but she cared about your wellbeing and as well as hers. You groaned at the thought of getting out but shortly agreed with her.
Both getting out and drying yourself. You wrapped the towel around your body, but Natasha had different plans. She attached her body from behind you.
Her lips kissing from your shoulder to your neck to your ear, "Don't cover yourself.."
"But Nat...-" Before you could let your insecurities get the best of you, Her hands cupped yours, moving them to where the towel sat snug. Slowly moving it away from your body and letting it drop on the floor.
You wasn't sure what gotten to her but you were loving every second of this affection. You loved how she paid attention to everything. A soft gasp left your mouth when there was a slight breeze against your nude body.
She turned you around, letting her eyes explore your body like if this was the first time. A soft blush appearing on your cheeks as you felt slightly shy.
No imperfection could make Natasha think you weren't the most beautiful woman alive. Her eyes finally met yours, her loving gaze fighting the lust circling her pupils.
"You are so beautiful.." Her hands sat tightly on your hips as she pulled you into her own warm body.
Your hands fell on her shoulder before pulling her into the most needy kiss that you could express. Showing her how much you appreciate her words, her being here and showing you that you are lovable.
Of course, being butt naked lead to the most passionate night you could've experienced. Her letting you feel all of the pleasure she could get out of you before you would give that back to her.
Show her body how much everything she did, was more than enough. You wanted to leave her satisfied and less tensed which by the way her body relaxed after was telling enough.
After everything, her arm draped around you. Holding you close as she put a movie on. The movie that she wanted to see if her assumption was right.
As your attention shifted to the TV. Almost being ready to go for another round if the movie was boring you. That's when the jump scares came.
Making you jump and squeal in fear, hiding your face in Natasha's arm. "What is this movie!"
Natasha chuckled softly at your cuteness, but not talking at all. Watching you in the corner of her eye. Watching how you peaked at the screen and then hid again.
Watching as you spoke to the tv, causing the redhead to laugh even making you laugh slightly at your own fear. "Natasha, this isn't funny!"
"How stupid are these people! Just run the opposite way!" You slightly raised your voice as you waved your hand towards the screen.
She knew the jumpscare was coming, it was slowly edging towards the end of the movie. She was ready as she had her arms open and watched as you screamed and jumped right into her arms.
"Gosh, you are so adorable." Natasha expressed as she stroke your head to keep you calm, watching as the character managed to escape the murderer.
You pulled away, your hair being slightly a mess as you narrowed your eyes at the redheaded Russian. "How could you!"
Natasha bit her lower lip to stop herself from smiling. But you weren't having it, as you softly shoved her arm. Making her laughing and voice her imaginary pain.
"Ouch." Natasha held her arm as she laughed softly. "Come on Y/n, it's just a little bit of horror."
"Little bit of horror?" You scoffed, as you sat on Natasha, holding her arms above her head. "You lead me in the false sense of safety when you had all of this planned all along. I spent years avoiding watching this stuff."
The redhead must admit she liked this side of you. The side where there was fire in your eyes. Looking at her like she was your gourmet meal.
"I was just checking out my assumption.." She knew she was going to make it worse.
How couldn't she, when this was all a plan after all.
You raised your brow at her, intrigued in her words right now. "Right... And what was that then, my dear."
"If you were scared of horror fiction." She loved the way your grip on her wrists tighten.
You hummed as you leaned down to her ear. "You better be prepared for punishment.."
You knew something that she didn't know that you knew about her. Whilst her head was filling with unholy stuff. Letting her eyes fill with lust for you.
You had other plans. You moved away as you smiled and removed your grip on her hands. With a swift motion you attached your hands to her side and tickled her.
You knew she was going to be weaker whilst laughing and trying to somehow get away from you. "Stop! Y/n!"
"No, you will take the pushiment that I came up with." You spoke louder over her, to let her hear.
Now the redhead knew, that even a little bit of horror, can turn into her nightmares if she wasn't careful.

Days passed, weeks passed, then years passed. You left Natasha. And the worst thing is, you had no say so. Or, maybe you did. But the choice was already made.
Natasha had been dreading this day. The day when she had to come and clean up your old shared apartment. Any memory of you made her break down, she never felt this way about anyone.
When the two of you met her walls had been built up towards the sky. She pushed herself away from the team, away from you. Attachment wouldn't get her anywhere in this type of career, she knew that.
So why was it so hard when you came around? You didn't plan on falling in love with Natasha or making her fall in love with you. But you couldn't lie to yourself, something about her pulled you in.
Before you knew it you were trapped. Locked inside, with only one key. And the only person who owned that key was Natasha, she owned your heart.
It was a scary feeling for Natasha, of course, she thought love was for children. A part of her felt as if she didn't deserve love, she didn't deserve you.
However, all of those worries washed away once she looked into your eyes, as cliche as it sounded. The deep connection she felt, the warm feeling, you didn't have to speak when that look said everything.
Don't worry. You'd be there if she fell.
You were.
Slowly, and surely, Natasha's walls were breaking down. She felt safe around you, safe to be herself— flaws and all. Your love was unconditional. Her guard was fully down and she was accepted by you.
You understood her, every single cell of her body, you understood it. You were inseparable, you got each other. It shocked you both, you would've never thought you'd connect in the circumstances you were in.
When you admitted your feelings for the redhead you didn't think they'd be reciprocated, but even if they weren't, you didn't care. You adored Natasha, no matter what. Nothing would ever change that, your intentions would always stay the same.
Hearing Natasha say she loved you was better than you'd dreamed. At that moment she had never felt so vulnerable, but in your mind, you knew this was the woman you'd die for. You'd love her as no one has before, she was your source of light.
"Natasha," Natasha hummed in response, not feeling like talking. She hadn't for a while, all she wanted was you. "You don't have to do this if you don't want to. No one's forcing you."
Steve said, a reassuring hand on her shoulder. The two were outside of your shared apartment, bags and boxes ready to load whatever they wanted to keep in memory of you.
Steve had always been a great friend of yours. After he had come out of the ice you showed how the internet worked and all the new stuff that confused him from this generation. "No— I want to," Natasha spoke, her voice almost in a whisper.
She wanted to do nothing more than run back to the compound and bury herself in work to distract the aching pain in her heart. With a sigh, she unlocked the front door, slowly pushing it open.
"Hey.." Steve paused briefly, he didn't know what to say to make Natasha feel better in this situation. Sometimes he wondered if Natasha even wanted anything to do with him.
"I could do the bedroom if it's too much for you."
Natasha shook her head, "No, I don't want you to." Steve nodded, clearing his throat to clear the awkward silence that filled the room. Natasha's responses had gotten blunter and blunter as time moved on. She hadn't been doing it on purpose, she was just so tired of having to hold her tongue.
After looking around the apartment, reminiscing old memories that had been made in the apartment, she made her way toward the master bedroom.
A trash bag in her hand, she grabbed random things throwing them in, she wanted to keep all of your things. She didn't care, anything you'd left behind, she wanted it. Using a bit of too much force unloading the dresser a plastic decoration fell off it, creating a loud noise.
"Nat? You okay?" Steve called out from the kitchen, worry washing over him.
"Y-Yeah... I'm fine Steve." She replied, her eyes trained on a polaroid that had fallen onto the dark wood floor beside the decorative plant.
With shaky hands she picked it up, flipping it over. It was a photo of her, you two were sitting on-top of the Avengers tower, eating a cheap New York pizza from a restaurant not to far from the tower.
The sun was setting, looking absolutely beautiful. But you believed the red-head in front of you beat the sunset by a mile, snapping a photo of her with your vintage camera.
You were always obsessed with film, and if you hadn't joined Shield you'd be a photographer. You'd always tell Natasha how she'd grow to love how you captured moments of your day on your camera.
A soft laugh left her mouth, and before she knew it, she couldn't hold her tears back anymore. She needed you more than ever, you were supposed to be with her for the entirety, at least that's what you promised.
Although here she was, crying because you had broken her promise. As petty as it sounded, she was mad, you promised. She also couldn't help but think about the last fight you shared.
Natasha stormed behind you, following you into your shared bedroom. "Y/N!" She shouted after you, but you ignored her, trying to slam the door behind you to stop her from entering.
"Leave me alone, Natasha." You sighed out, running a hand over your face. "Y/N, please." You turned around to face her, she expected you to look angry, but it hurt more seeing the disappointment in your eyes.
"I just wanna talk." She says, taking a small step forward, and placing a shaky hand on your cheek.
You couldn't help but lean into her touch. You loved her but hated how you loved her after all she's done these past few months. You just wanted to be enough for her.
"Now you wanna talk to me?" You ask, your voice shaky yet firm. You move her hand off your face, not missing the way her face flashes with hurt.
"Y/N, I'm sorry."
You let out a fake laugh, "Wow, you're sorry."
"Y/N—" You interrupt her, ripping the tie off of your dress shirt, "No, Natasha. This is the fifth time you've stood me up this week."
You didn't understand, last week you had just come back from a month-long mission. All you wanted to do was spend time with your girlfriend, but it was almost as if she didn't feel the same. You understood had busy it could be, especially being an Avenger, but earlier in your relationship, Natasha had always made time for you.
You were supposedly the love of her life, even though it didn't feel like it. You started to doubt if you were enough for her, were you boring her?
"Do you love me, do you hate me? I don't understand. What am I doing wrong?"
"Nothing, baby. It's me," You shook your head, letting her continue, but you couldn't help but feel the subtle anger grow in you. "I— I've just been so busy—"
"Stop!" You snap, you don't miss how Natasha jumps as the sudden rise in your voice, "Just stop! Enough with the excuses Nat."
You let your hand rest on your hips, your gaze falling towards the dress showing Tony letting you borrow out of his closet. A sudden lump in your throat, "Maybe,"
"Maybe we should just take a break."
"No," Natasha she breathes out, "No—" She repeats to herself, confused about why you would even suggest something like that. You could get over this, this was just a speed bump in the road. Was it not?
"I love you." You shake your head, "This," You point between the two of you, "Isn't love."
She did love you. You are the only one she'd ever love, and that was the truth. She hated herself for taking your love for granted for a split second.
But she hated you more for doing what you did.
It was the morning after you fought with Natasha, everything felt so strange. Of course, this wasn't the first time you had fought but, this time maybe you wouldn't make up.
And unfortunately for you, you had gotten called in for a mission. An enemy base had gotten ahold of  SHIELDS weapons and vehicles, you were confused about why Maria insisted on bringing Captain America and Black Widow on your mission until she confirmed she was going to take down the entire base.
The quinjet was silent, was there nothing to be said? You didn't know why you felt guilty, you weren't in the wrong. Perhaps you knew you were no good alone, and no one could ever replace Natasha.
Nevertheless, your relationship wasn't the same. You didn't feel the same euphoria that you felt when you shared your first touch.
You felt abandoned.
"Y/N, you good?" You're pulled out of your thoughts by Steve, "Hm? Yeah, I'm good."
"We're at the drop-out zone, Maria," Steve said into coms, you sat up stretching, making sure you were ready before you exited the quinjet. You felt a pair of eyes on you, already knowing who it was you didn't dare to meet their gaze.
"Alright," Steve starts as the quinjet starts to open, "Here goes nothing." The three of you line up, exiting the jet.
Your mission was supposed to be easy, you suppose. You and Natasha provide Steve backup as he runs towards the control room to activate a self-destruction protocol.
Except the three of you didn't know they had already known you were coming.
You should've noticed something was off when there was no security outside the base, and when you walked inside it was empty and silent.
"Somethings off," Steve stated, you nodded in agreement, looking around and examining your surroundings.
Natasha opened her mouth to speak but stopped once she heard Maria's voice in coms. "Cap, they know you're there. Backups on the way—"
Your heads all turn to the grenade laying between your legs, without hesitation you kick it, grabbing Natasha and pulling her towards the nearest cover.
"Steve! You okay?" You shout over the loud noise of bullets and rumble, "I'm good! I'm going to move towards the control room."
"There's no way he's gonna make it there by himself.." Natasha whispered beside you, as much as you hated to agree, she was right.
"Go," she told you, loading up her gun. "Nat—"
"Now, Y/N." This time she insisted, you didn't have a choice. You resisted the urge to tell her you love her or kiss her because you weren't sure if it'd be the last time you would be able to.
You took a deep breath before peaking your head out of the shelter for a quick second before turning your head to Natasha, she nodded, a silent way of telling you she'd provide you cover.
You swiftly stood up, running closer to Steve. "Steve! C'mon," His head turned to you, grabbing his shield and protecting himself from incoming bullets. You stood behind him, shooting anyone that got in your way.
"Maria? Maria, you there?" Cap asked in his earpiece, you sigh when there's no response.
"Cap, we have to get to the control room. I don't know how long Natasha can hold them off,"
He sends a nod your way, and you both run in the direction of the control room.
Still running, your heads turn towards a roar, not near you and thankfully not near Natasha.
"Was that Hulk?" You question. Steve sighs, "I hope not.."
A few more turns and you've made it to the control room. "Natasha, we've made it. Are you okay?" You whisper the last part, concerned.
"I'm okay," She replies, you feel yourself relax. A small smile appeared on your face as Steve activated the self-destruction protocol.
You watched as the blond-haired man point a finger to his ear, "Natasha, get out of here. We'll be right behind you."
"Okay, I'll see you guys outside."
Just as you guys were about to leave the control room you heard the same roar from earlier than a loud crash came from behind the two of you.
Cap grabs his shield, protecting his body. You both try to examine what just crashed into the control room but dust from the rubble is clouding the room. Grabbing a gun from your belt you point in front of you, "Is that—" Steve is interrupted by a huge rock being flung your way.
As quickly as you can, you dodge out of the way. It was an enormous green monster, but it wasn't Hulk. You didn't know what it was, what you knew is that it wanted you and Steve dead. 
"Steve! Get out of here!" You shout, your back against the wall. "I'm not leaving you."
"Please, Steve. Get Natasha out of here and go home." You plead, grabbing the gun from your back. "Make sure everyone's safe, and tell Natasha I love her."  
Steve knew if he stayed there to fight there was a chance both of you wouldn't make it alive and knew how stubborn you could be when you had your mind set on something.
The soldier gave you one last glance before taking off, you smiled and put all your attention on the monster.
Once Steve arrived at the entrance he noticed Natasha was gone, and all of the enemies were down. "Steve! Can you hear me?"
"Nat? Where are you?"
"I told you before, I'll meet you outside." She joked, Steve could practically hear the smirk on her face. His frown deepened, she didn't know the circumstances that you were in. How could he tell her that the love of her life was fighting in a life-or-death situation?
He ran out of the building and into the quinjet, hurrying to put the comms on the speaker of the quinjet, "Where's Y/N?"
He stayed silent, waiting to hear any sign of your voice to prove that you were still alive.
Shocking news is that you were, defeated the green monster with a very broken arm, but hey, you still survived. "Guys?" You asked into comms, unsure if it was still working or not.
You sighed when you only got static as a response, checking the ticking time clock, four minutes playing on it. "Shit," You muttered, rushing towards the nearest exit.
According to the blueprints you weren't that far away, although god had other plans for you.
You yelled out in pain feeling a hot pain in the back of your thigh, little did you know that Steve and Natasha were listening.
Natasha's heart dropped when she heard your scream, and Steve couldn't help but feel guilty. Natasha quickly stood up, ready to hop back out of the quinjet to help you but was held back by Steve.
"What are you doing?" She grits out, "There's no way you're going back in there, the bomb will explode any time soon."
"I'm afraid Captain is right, Ms. Romanoff," Jarvis added, the redhead sat back down, her mind trying to think of every possibility to save you, though nothing came to mind.
At that moment the building exploded, and Natasha couldn't accept the fact that you were gone. You weren't, there was no way.
You were going to walk out of the smoke perfectly fine, you had to. You promised you'd be there for her forever, no matter what. That's what you said.
Your funeral was even worse, there was no body to be collected. Nothing to be buried, which was one-hundred times worst in Natasha's opinion.
You didn't have any family, or that's what you told her, and everyone else. You'd always say the Avengers were your family, Natasha liked that because she felt the same way.
They all came to your funeral, even Thor who left Asgard to attend, Tony who called off meetings, and Clint who left the comfort of his home, they cared for you and they hoped you knew that.
Other than Natasha, your death affected Steve in ways he didn't know was possible. Throughout his day he'd think about how you should be here, and he should. He was Captain America yet he let you give your life for him.
They'd both do anything to get you back.

"Can I help you Bubba?" Nat smiled, noticing Y/n puttering in the doorway to her office.
"'m bored mama." They pouted, their arms swinging at their sides.
"Mama's got lots of work to do, Bubba." Nat turned her chain to face Y/n, their shoulders dropping at her words. "Is your movie over?"
"Yes, Nemo is home now." They took a few more steps into the office.
"Would you like me to put on another movie for you Bubba?" Nat's tone subtly turned humorous, a lopsided smirk creeping it's way on her face as Y/n took a few more steps closer.
"Um, no." They sighed, taking the last few steps and collapsing in Natasha's arms. "Wan' a stay with you, Mama, please."
"If you stay with me that means you'll be my work buddy."
"Bubba, Mama, Bubba." They pointed to their chest as they said their words, their brow furrowed.
"My work Bubba, yes." She chuckled smoothing her hand over Y/n's head before placing a kiss on their forehead. "It's hard work though." She pointed out as she helped Y/n get comfortable in her lap.
"'m reallyyyyy smart Mama." Y/n beamed, their demenour taking a 180 spin, ready to help Nat with whatever work she had.
Nat in turn opened a drawer to her left, bending down slightly as she picked out a colouring book and crayons. "These are my special work crayons." Nat opened the new package, pulling out a fancy looking pen, twisting it to let the crayon peek through. "You have to be very careful with them."
Y/n sat in awe, their fingers brushing against the plastic like it was glass. "I will Mama, very gentle."

Natasha sat with one arm wrapped around Y/n's middle, the other hand clicking away on her mouse. "Mama?" Y/n asked, their head resting against Nat's as they sat back. "'m I working good?" They asked, their voice dripping in worry as they pushed the open colouring book towards Nat.
"Oh Bubba, it's very good." Nat gasped, her full attention on the neatly, as neat as possible, colouring page that was presented to her.
"You li'e it mama?" Y/n beamed.
"I love it." She kissed Y/n's temple. "And mama is very proud of you for working so good Bubba." She squeezed their middle gently. "When your done can I put it on my bulletin board?" She asked, Y/n's eyes drifting to the corkboard covered with serious business files.
"Yes!" They squealed. "But i's not finished yet!" They pulled the book back, gently placing the one crayon down and picking up another. "Mama?" Y/n suddenly asked.
"Yes, Bubba."
"Can I be your Work Bubba tomorrow too?" They said uncertain.
"You can be Mama's Work Bubba everyday Bubba." Nat reassured, her thumb rubbing small circles against Y/n's torso.
"Bu' not when i's lunch right?" They asked, their hand holding onto Nat's arm for dear life.
"No Bubba, we can still eat lunch." She chuckled. "Would you like Kraft dinner? Or grilled cheese?"
"Both."
Nat just nodded her head, they did work really hard after all.

Natasha and you were teammates. Ever since Clint brought her to SHIELD, you and she had worked together. You made a great team. That is why Fury decided to pair you up on a mission. It was an undercover mission.
You and Natasha were “newly married”, and you both had moved into a beautiful little suburban house. Having harboured a long time crush on said woman, you were eager to agree to the mission. After all, what was the worst that could happen?
Two weeks were spent in domestic bliss. You barely remembered that you were on a mission when you went to bed with that goddess of a woman every night and when she held your hand out in public. You were practically floating on a cloud.
It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, however. Being a “lesbian couple” in a suburban neighbourhood in the middle of nowhere definitely has its setbacks.
You and Natasha had been called many slurs and horrible things during your time there. It didn’t seem to bother Natasha because she knew it was fake, but each insult carved at your heart. You knew it wasn’t real. So why did it hurt to be called those nasty things?
When you were young you were proud of your orientation. Out of middle school and into high school was when your internalised homophobia began. You could be happy for others that were proud to show their true selves, but you couldn’t bring yourself to be comfortable with your own true self. You never really worked on it which was probably why all of your feelings of shame and self-hatred were coming back.
You did notice, however, that whenever someone said something particularly rude, Natasha would either pull you closer or rub her thumb soothingly over your hand. You didn’t know if she could sense your unease or if it was just an act. Either way, it helped a little.
One night you had run out of pads and needed to go to the store. You didn’t want to bother Nat about it because you knew she was busy tracking some leads. Plus you just didn’t want to bother her. You hated asking people for assistance.
You told her you’d be back soon, and she told you to hurry back. It was times like those when you could imagine what a life with her would really be like. Each time it also managed to dig you into a deeper hole. By the end of the mission, you were sure you wouldn’t be able to get out. Your love for her was too strong.
The convenience store was really close to your house, so you decided to walk. After a couple of minutes, goosebumps started to form on your skin. Your heart raced and the hair on the back of your neck stood on edge. You weren’t sure if you were just being paranoid, but you felt like someone was watching you… following you.
Quickly dialling Natasha, you listened to the ringing of the phone. Your breath hitched when she picked up.
“Hey, you okay?” Natasha asked over the phone.
“Yeah… yeah, just… Just wanted to hear your voice…” you mumbled. You heard Natasha’s breath stop before you heard her fumbling around. That was code for trouble.
“Where are you? I’m coming to get you right now!”
You could hear the boots behind you getting closer and closer. Heart beating out of your chest, you murmured, “We’re out of time.”
“No! Don’t you hang up on me! Keep the line connected. I’ve got your location just… just hang in there, okay?”
You grunted when the man behind you pushed you into the ditch. He started calling you slurs, saying you were an abomination as he crawled on top of you. You could smell the alcohol on his breath, his rotting teeth pulled into a sneer.
You kicked him off of you and tried to run. You didn’t want to cause him too much harm. You knew you could kill him. You were much more strong and trained than he was. All that was keeping him going was his large body and anger. That wouldn’t help him for long, though.
You didn’t notice that he had a firearm. You should have expected it since you were in a small town in the heart of America. Still, you were shocked when a bullet tore through your calf. You yelped, stumbling to the ground. Glass from a shattered bottle on the side of the road forced its way into your palms. You gritted your teeth and got up.
The man was approaching you as he said, “Someone ought to teach you that a marriage is between a man and a woman, you nasty little fa-”
Before he was able to finish his sentence or get any closer to you, you punched him square in the jaw.
“Let me guess, I also hit like a girl?”
At that point he was as red as a tomato. He swung at you with all his might. You ducked out of his reach and he ended up falling onto the ground.
You barely noticed the car rolling up. You were too busy tackling the man and rolling around in the ditch. He kept on screaming about how you were a disgrace, how no one could love a disgusting “lesbian” like you, how you were going to rot in hell along with your stupid wife.
Tears were rolling down your face as you punched him again and again and again. All of your internalised self-hatred was being fed. Each comment was like fuel to a nasty fire burning within. You didn’t realise that he had gotten a hold of one of the shards of glass until he began to stab you with it. Shocked, you froze up a bit. He used your moment of distraction to flip himself on top of you.
He hardly made any progress with the shard because he was plowed into his side. You curled up on yourself and cried. Years of pent up self-hatred and shame came flooding out of your eyes.
You heard your name being called out. It was Natasha. You were too embarrassed to look up. There you were, curled up into a pathetic sobbing ball. If only the ground would come up and swallow you whole. She must be thinking you’re so weak.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. I’ve got you. You’re alright.”
She picked up your body and placed you in the backseat. “Let’s get you home, baby girl.”
When you both arrived at the house, Natasha took you to your shared bathroom. She took out a medical kit and began to patch you up.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered. You felt so defeated and weak. Normally you’d be fine, but after all those years of internalised homophobia and shame, you couldn’t take any more.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about, darling. What’s got you so upset?”
You sniffed. No one knew about your orientation. It had never come up. You worried that Natasha would be disgusted with you. That she’d refuse to continue sleeping in the same bed as you, that she’d stop giving you small kisses on the forehead and holding your hand. That she’d stop treating you like a friend because she was scared that you’d have feelings for her. You did, of course, but she didn’t know that. She never had to know either. It would be better that way.
“Was it the things he said?” Natasha asked, reading you like a book. You nodded and curled into yourself. You knew Natasha was smart. She’d put two and two together. Your secret would be out, and things would never be the same.
“Hey, look at me. None of those things he said were true.”
“Yes they were,” you cried.
Natasha frowned. “There is absolutely nothing wrong with you, darling. You are perfect. It doesn’t matter who you like, you are still the most amazing woman I’ve met. You’re not a disgrace, and you’re not a mistake.”
Sobs came flying out of your mouth as she pulled you into her arms. You soaked her shirt with your tears as she ran her fingers along your scalp. You cried against her chest until there were no tears left in you.
No one had ever told you those words. Those same words you would say to anyone else a million times before you even thought about telling them to yourself.
You were wrong in assuming that Natasha would be disgusted with you. She didn’t even blink when you two went to sleep in the same bed. She still gave you forehead kisses and held your hand in public.
You were right about one thing, however, after the mission things weren’t the same. It started with her hanging out with you more. You chalked that up to your bond that had grown. But then she started getting you gifts. Flowers and chocolates, stuffed animals, pictures of you two in frames, and a heart shaped locket.
It was Valentine’s Day when she finally worked up the nerve to ask you out. One thing was for sure. Things would never be the same.

They sit in silence. Wanda's staring at her hands. A stranger walking past would not even notice them. Hell, they might think they were harmless, beautiful, even. But, no. They were the most dangerous things in the world, and she'd been bestowed with them.
Nat is staring at Wanda's eyes. She likes staring at people's eyes. But she is doing it out of fury, now.
Wanda plays with her fingers, her chaotic fingers, biting her lip. Her mind drags her to the night when she saw you, first.
At this point, she could've sworn, sworn that you walked in with wings behind you. She'd loved you first, but Nat had got you first.
"Do you think you could help me? Come on. No one else is going to be interested in loving me, at least this clearly kind soul will."
"You want me to make you guys fall in love?"
"No, just direct this... Y/N in my direction. Unless you'd feel guilty?"
"I don't feel guilt."
This was the greatest lie ever told, and she'd said it, fooling even herself.
But she does. She feels guilt. She's guilty about losing her brother. She's guilty about being unable to do anything for her parents. She's guilty. But those things, they're alright. Because she knows, deep down, that when people say: 'It's not your fault', there's truth in that.
No one would say that now.
The guilt hadn't come for a month. It hadn't come for two months. But it came.
Come on, what's the point of having powers if you don't use them? Yes, true.
But this was wrong.
Natasha had made her gone too far, and now, she was a full-on accomplice. It was always: 'Just once more. It's wearing off. Once more. Come on.'
Desperate to be liked by the toughest person to impress on the team, she did it. But soon, the intoxication of control seeped into her blood, and she looked forward to being able to use her powers.
Until she didn't. Until she fell. Until she repented.
She could never feel pure again after this.
'It's wearing off' had seemed like a viable excuse up until then. Yeah. It's wearing off, so you need to fix it. Rebuild it. Redo it. Human nature.
But as the requests began getting more and more aggressive, demanding and cruel, Wanda's enthusiasm faded like scars.
It's not like she could tell anyone. "I changed my mind, though!" is a pretty shit excuse for aiding and abetting a mind-rape.
No. Committing. Nat had no powers. All she'd done was blackmail her. 'If people find out you're capable of witch magic besides chaos magic, your image is tarnished. You'll lose your job. You'll lose... everything.'
Apparently, according to Natasha, it's not blackmail if it's true.
But as she presses on her fingers till the bones break, this seems less and less true.
Guilt's a bitch.
Maybe it's because the life you'd had, before Natasha had forced this new one on you, was the most mundane, rawly human one she'd seen. Or maybe it's because every time she does Natasha's bidding, she gets to experience a part of you. Maybe it's love.
Hopefully not, Natasha would slit her throat.
Let's go with a moral compass. After getting used to being on the good side, she's developed a moral compass. Either way, she was fighting the urge to undo everything, because each spell was cementing the lies in your mind.
Every lie was strengthened by its successive one, and, well, what could she say? As your mind gets more and more tightly wound with them, in a while, you would lose any sense of you.
"Y/N said something about you.", says Natasha, sniffing as she looked up at her.
"Alright. Great."
Yes, good, this is what she was hoping would happen. She feigns obliviousness, reaching over to her shelf to arrange the books she pretends to read. "I mean: WHAT? What do you mean?"
"What the fuck, do you think this is some kind of game? How the fuck does Y/N know you're from Sokovia?"
"Maybe side effects-"
Natasha knocks the book out of her hand, grabbing her shoulders and making her face her. "You said that the only side effects were scrambled memories of Y/N's past life! How the fuck-"
She furrows her brows, and in that moment, Wanda's aware that there's no way she's getting out of this one. "You knew Y/N. Before."
Deadly eyes. And they were directed onto her.
"Barely. We were neighbours."
'Yes, but you in fact, knew each other."
Wanda looks down. Sighing, she nods. "Yes."
Nat leaves her shoulders, holding her forehead as if she'd just been hit there. "What game are you playing, Maximoff?"
"One where Y/N isn't mind-raped everyday. One where you're not tossing free will out the window."
"Y/N LOVES ME!"
"How do you know that? Not a moment between you has been real. It's a fabricated little love story you've created, some... idealistic fantasy you want me to replicate for you day after day. And every time the truth begins to slip out... as it always will, you come back to me, make me destroy Y/N's idea of self so that you can play house!"
"Y/N did love me, once! Once! And we will love again."
"Just because you were in love in your universe, it doesn't mean-"
"It does mean! It's the same person, just different universes! Our souls are the same!"
"What if they aren't? What if Y/N needs a normal life before falling for you? Or... you know... someone else?"
This will forever be remembered as the moment that Wanda saw pure rage manifesting in front of her.
"Are you fucking kidding me?", laughs Natasha, anger pooling into this laugh like water pools into rockpools when the tide reaches them. "Someone else ? You love Y/N? Really? You think it's even a choice between you and me?"
"What choice ? You've taken every choice away!"
"Listen, Maximoff, it's way too late to get a moral compass. Now, fix this."
Wanda turns back to her books. "FIX THIS! FIX THIS, OR I KILL YOU!", she threatens.
"I doubt you'd be able to mail-order a witch who'd continue this."
Nat chuckles again, this time, more hostile than before. "Fix. It. Fix it or I kill Y/N."
"Drop the gun or I undo everything."
"What the fuck are you going to do after that? Try and seduce Y/N?", she mocks, circling her. "Report me? And what about you? You didn't just aid the crime, you committed it, Maximoff. Your hands are as red as mine, maybe redder."
"I feel pity for you, I do. How did you turn from the woman I looked up to, to... this?"
"Who cares? Fix it."
"What did Y/N say about me?" She's stalling. It's probably painfully clear to everyone, even Nat, but she supposed Nat thinks humouring her wouldn't be too annoying.
"Nothing much. Just muttered your name, sprinkled something about Sokovia."
"While sleeping? Yeah, I should think so.", snorts Wanda. This is dangerous terrain she's entering into, but she can't sit back and watch as Natasha fucks up your life.
For now, let's go back to Wanda insinuating things she did not want to go around insinuating. Not with Natasha. She's poking the bear with a stick. Poking the assassin with her own gun.
"Choose your next words wisely, Maximoff."
"I fucked Y/N."
The repercussions are almost instantaneous. Birds stop singing, wind stops blowing, heart stops beating. She stills.
It's forever, this moment. It feels as if it won't end. She brings her dagger to Wanda's throat, but she isn't scared. Something tells her it will drop in a moment. Or at the very least, maybe draw blood. She wouldn't kill her. She can't. She needs her to manipulate you.
"You didn't. I'm always with Y/N." It's clear that even she doesn't believe a word she says.
"Are you together now? Am I usually here at this time? Do the math."
"Wanda, you fucking..."
A tear falls from her eye, but Wanda would be damned if she allowed herself to relent based on a villain's false tear.
"What? Are you worried that I mind-controlled Y/N to do it? No, Natasha. I don't do that shit. Who am I, you? So, if there truly is a choice, I think there's at least an 80-20 chance for me."
"Oh, so that's where this sudden urge to be a good citizen has surfaced from. You don't want to stop fucking Y/N. Right. Because if I try to give Y/N a clean slate, a start-over, you won't be wanted anymore."
"On some level, Romanoff, I think I'll always be wanted.", she nods, staring into her eyes. "Voluntarily, unlike you."
A knock on the door.
"Wanda?"
"Coming! One moment!"
Nat turns back to Wanda. "Maximoff, we're not done yet. Just because you knew each other, doesn't mean Y/N's going to have to continue fucking you, kid. It's not love if the other person's in a daze half the time."
"That's kind of a pot-kettle thing to say, isn't it?"
She takes the dagger off, making her way out the door. Alive . This was extremely lucky. Unprecedented.

"Maybe it's not something you like hearing, Stark, but..."
"Look, Nat, you're beautiful, you're great. But I just don't get how someone could know about all your baggage and still..."
"That is such a shit thing to say. Nat, sober Tony would never say this.", assures Rhodey, with a glare at Tony.
"It's fine, but it's true. Y/N's a rare find."
Wanda almost scoffs.
"Oh, don't go all diamond-in-the-rough-magic-lamp-blue-genie on us.", huffs Clint, in utter frustration. Who could blame him, though? He'd been receiving this worship for as long as he could remember.
"Hey, no, I want to hear about this baggage-ignoring lover that would lay their life down for Nat!", whines Tony, petulantly.
'"Guys, I'm going to bed. See you.", says Wanda, avoiding eye contact like a criminal avoids the law. Nat's eyes narrow, but she doesn't even skip a beat before saying: "Oh, come on, you barely socialise anymore. Stay."
Wanda tries not to look at her, but she does. The smallest hint of a smirk tells her she'd better stay. "Fine." , she replies, seating herself a little further from her than before, but still within earshot.
"Alright, now go on. Tell us about this amazing... Y/N, was it?"
"Yes."
Wanda watches her gaze soften as she talks about you, as though she was truly in love with you. Well, maybe she is, but it wasn't reciprocated, at least not voluntarily. Sometimes, like this moment, she wishes she were dead, or at least she wishes she was not accountable for her actions, she wishes she were stronger, she wishes... well, she wishes that... she wasn't herself.
For, if she weren't, maybe she would be able to stop such an injustice, such a... crime.
But instead, she is the one committing it.
She needs to warn you. Like, now, because once Natasha tells someone else the lie about how you met, the spell sticks. It is odd, but hey, it's witchcraft. It's not a perfect science.
Natasha's eyes flit over to her from time to time, and Wanda begins to think she'll be too late. She is still talking about how great you are. No one has asked how you met. But suddenly, as if the universe saw her truly good intentions, Natasha turns the other way, engrossed in a conversation with Steve. From whatever she could hear, it sounded like they weren't talking about you anymore.
Wanda turns, her hand rummaging into her pocket for something sharp, and when she happens upon it, she gently pulls it out towards her wrist. Sharp twinges of pain, but they're not enough. She finally cuts deep enough to draw blood. She's careful not to even let out a whimper, lest Natasha's quick eyes and even quicker mind catch on.
The hex was one of love and adoration, and so she smears the red over her lips, feeling it dry up immediately. Oh, the weird things she has to do for her craft. She watches Natasha, chanting as much of the original incantation as she can remember.
And suddenly, you're in front of her, seemingly in the same room, but invisible to everyone else.
You seem confused. Bewitched.
"Where am I? Who are you?"
What could she tell you? You deserve better? You deserve me ? Seeing as she was the one who did the manipulating, this notion is laughable.
"I'm Wanda Maximoff.", she mouths, but of course, it's an absolutely idiotic assumption that her name would be easily deciphered by lip reading.
Thinking quickly, she streaks some blood from her still-throbbing hand to her nose, as you watch in horror. Tony is the first to notice.
"Hey, Witchy-moff, your nose is bleeding.", he informs her, pointing at her. His face shows genuine concern, so she touches her finger to her face, puts on her best horrified face.
This is the first time you turn. You notice a familiar face, your beautiful Natasha's face, and you're running to her. "Nat, where the fuck am I?"
Wanda breaks at how hurt you look as she looks right through you.
"Whoa. It's fine, I've got first-aid in my room.", she tells them, and even Nat doesn't seem to harbour any suspicion. She glares at you, gesturing with her eyes for you to follow her. Maybe it was the urge to redeem herself in her eyes, at least, if not yours, but she convinces herself that she is innately good.
You follow her.
In her room, you look around curiously, as if you've never seen such darkness before. "Is this... meant to be a cauldron?', you ask her.
"Yeah. Tony installed it as a joke. I don't use cauldrons. I'm not a brewer."
"So this is just a necklace and not a talisman?", you question, next.
"Uh, no. That is... indeed a talisman. You want it?"
"Whoa, no! I don't mess around with this occult shit, lady!", you exclaim, moving away from it as though it would devour you if you were any closer. If only you knew.
"Y/N, I'm Wanda Maximoff."
"Oh, yes, one of Nat's colleagues."
"She... talks about me?"
She can't even hide her surprise. She wants to tell you that this makes her feel as though she is in a movie, and this is the part where she'd better run.
She doesn't. She doesn't speak, she doesn't run.
"Yeah, a lot. She said you're the one who helped her talk to me when she first saw me."
Huh? "What?"
"Apparently you gave her a pep talk, and convinced her that life is short, blah-blah-blah, and she decided to ask me out. So, thanks."
No, she convinced me that life is short, and that no one would ever truly love her. She convinced me to fuck up your life.
The door opens, and Natasha walks in. "Hey, kid.", she calls, seating herself down next to her on the bed, elbow resting on one knee. "About this morning. I know you didn't actually sleep together."
How the fuck did she find out? Maybe Wanda isn't as good at the poker face as she thought.
She can't help looking at you.
"Look, I know it's wrong. But I didn't mean to make you scared."
"She can't see me?", you ask, raising a brow.
"No."
"No what?", asks Natasha, with her signature frown. Scratch that. Wanda's brilliant at the poker face, because she covers up pretty easily.
"No, it's fine."
"It's just... I just can't let you break it. I just can't."
You stand. She supposed you wish to test out this theory, do obscure things like dancing around the room, to check whether you were visible.
She's right.
You wave your hand in front of Nat's face, you twirl around, and somehow, you end up on Wanda's lap.
"Nat, it's not love, it's imprisonment.", she tells her, tucking your hair behind your ear. You get up.
"What? No, Y/N loves me, too."
"Y/N didn't even know you existed until-"
She bites her tongue, suddenly aware of both your presences.
Nat sighs, patting Wanda on the shoulder. "It's too late for a moral compass, honey.", she repeats.
She's right. What was she doing, bringing you here?
"You fucked up just as much as me.", she reminds her, as if that truth isn't ripping at her soul every day. Because she's an accomplice. Because if she stops, you're both strangers. Nat can't have you, and if that happens, she can't see you. She can't pine for you.
"Maximoff, you remember what I told you that night you... introduced me to Y/N? You were having second thoughts. What did I tell you?"
'You blackmailed me', she thinks.
"No one would let me live if they knew chaos wasn't the only type of magic I harness."
"It's not blackmail if it's true."
Yes, it is.
"Clint isn't telling anyone because I told him not to. Me."
Yes, yes, black magic or whatever the hell it was that she inherited in addition to chaos is extremely awful and hated everywhere. I know.
"Nat, this is wrong. You're essentially keeping Y/N prisoner.", she replies realising that she's been singing this song for ages.
Nat sighs. Wanda tries not to look over at you, now at the window, urging her to make you visible.
"Wanda, sweetie, there's no way you can get out of this. Aiding and abetting an essential mind-rape. Technically committing said mind-rape. You're far from innocent. And I see the way your face changes every time we talk about Y/N. What do you think, that because of your efforts now, Y/N'll love you later? Kid, you don't know how the world works."
"Wanda Maximoff, what does she mean by mind-rape?"
Wanda grimaces, turning toward you. Nat watches in confusion. According to her, there's no one there.
You're hyperventilating. Your eyes are wide, your hand is on your chest, and you're moving back, scurrying away from the both of them as if they would stab you if you were an inch closer.
"Y/N, please listen."
"What?"
"Natasha, not now. Y/N, listen to me, we-"
"You took my whole life, didn't you? With your... pagan shit. They should've burned you, too!"
"Who are you talking to, Maximoff? Y/N's at home."
"Oh, for-", she mutters, swinging her wrist to make the spell crumble so that you were visible.
Nat's entire demeanour changes in the blink of an eye. She goes from confused to horrified to feigning calm.
"Wanda, erase this memory."
She does it. Without a second thought, which she ought to have had, she erases your memory of this event. The only chance she had to make things right, she fucked it up, starting the cycle again. Instead, she bent the knee, she gave in, she allowed the knowledge that she'd probably never see you again take control.
Your little neighbourhood was destroyed, no chance she'd see you when she's out getting mail. Natasha was the only way she could see you. She was the only way you could interact, because, let's face it, she doesn't have the courage to say, like, three words to you.
In the end, her mind draws up some good-faith treaties with her heart. A truce. There's no point undoing everything, because it was her destiny. Or so she convinces herself.
So she'll manipulate you, make you dance to Nat's whim, all while being exposed to the most intimate parts of your brain, for her sadistic, perverted pleasure.
After all, what's the point of having powers if you don't use them?

One trait Natasha only shows to you is that she's soft.
She would glare and scowl at everyone she sees but with you, she was all giddy and bouncy.
It wasn't a question that she loves you cause it always shows. When she's with you she's completely vulnerable.
And one thing she loved to do is cuddles.
This big bad assassin could not go by her day without getting a 30-minute cuddle every— perhaps 5 hours.
But that changed when Lila was born. This 4-year-old daughter of yours and Natasha was very much like Natasha.
Red hair, green eyes and plump lips. The nose was yours and the face structure but this child screamed Natasha.
Lila was Natasha because she also can go to her day without your cuddles. She was a mommy's girl.
And this causes mere jealousy in Natasha. But the redhead was of course not letting it show because it's your guy's child. And Lila looked very cute asking for cuddles so those feeling are easily forgotten.
But those stopped until you guys had a family day and Lila was nagging you both to go to the mall and so you guys did.
Lila had your energy so she ran wherever her feet lead her and poor you had run to keep up with her while Natasha do the shopping for both of you.
However, no matter how much energy this kid could go she gets easily tired and drained out.
"Mommy, can we go home now?" Lila asked tugging your hand in the process.
"Yes, let's wait for mama first"
And right on time the redhead suddenly pops up behind you.
"Ready to go home?" The redhead asked, showing the numerous shopping bags in her hands.
"Yep," you said, popping the p in the process. "This guy is tired," you add.
"I'm not tired" the young redhead protested. To prove her point she ran to the car and smiled giddily waiting for Natasha to open it.
"You sure got a lot of energy today kiddo" Natasha exclaimed, patting her hair.
You immediately sat on the passenger seat. Your feet are tired and in need of a little rest. You sighed feeling relaxed that you guys are finally gonna go home.
On the road, Lila's eyes fluttered close and open trying to prove the point that she wasn't tired and the fact that it wasn't her prying it open but simply because she can't sleep without you snuggling with her.
"Mommy" she fusses.
You looked at the back seat and saw her very tired expression. "yes, baby?"
"I'm sleepy" she whined. You smiled all knowingly knowing she wanted to be cradled in your lap.
"Come here" you soothed. She maneuvered her way onto the passenger seat and immediately clung to you like a koala.
You haven't even shared the seatbelt with and she's immediately out like a light. Just like her mom.
Usually, Natasha would be smiling at the view of you and your guy's daughter snuggling but the redhead frowned also wanting to snuggle with you.
The silence of the ride home was something different than usual and you felt it. But you decided not to ask Natasha whats wrong because Lila was sleeping.
Back at the house, you tuck your daughter in and immediately looked for the redhead who was sitting on the couch watching TV.
"Hi baby" you soothed, approaching her carefully in case she's mad at you.
"Did you have fun with the child?" she deadpanned. You raised your eyebrow hearing how Nat addressed your daughter.
"The child?" you mused.
"Yep, the child who constantly asks for your cuddles." she mockingly said making a face in the process.
You narrowed your eyes, "Are you jealous of our daughter?" you teasingly ask, smiling slyly at her.
"Why would I be jealous? Go cuddle with your child you won't get a single touch from me" she rambled, eyes directly on the TV.
You immediately ran up to her hearing you can't get a touch from Natasha. "I'm sorry baby. But you know she's just a baby, right?"
"Well, I'm your baby" she whined, finally looking at you doe-eyed.
"I know, you're my baby and that's our baby so cut her some slack." you cooed.

Natasha's heart only had one true love. The ocean had always called to her.
Her father was dishonorably discharged from the navy and her mother was the rebellious daughter of a fisherman. Natasha was practically born to be a pirate.
Natasha was made for the sea. Her lungs were meant to only inhale the bitter saltiness of the air and her eyes were cameras determined to capture every beautiful creature within the ocean. Only her nose could truly appreciate the stench of the ocean. She was blessed with hair long enough to catch the winds of the sea like a sail and ears sharp enough to hear all the beautiful songs the mermaids sang. Yet her hands had nothing.
When she was younger Natasha would occupy them by playing around in the sand and collecting sea shells. Now she was thirty years old and couldn't find much more than a fleeting join. Occasionally she'd pick up something interesting for Steve to draw but nothing that truly interested her. Natasha wasn't even foolish enough to consider wasting precious sea life for the sake of entertainment. She later found she didn't have the heart or the stomach to dissect it even if it died of natural causes.
Poseidon must have been particularly endeared by her respect for his creations because the ocean had given her something much more willing to deal with her unoccupied hands.
Natasha remembered the day she met you very clearly. Her men had decided to dock on a seemingly uncharted island to rest and gather some resources. Her father had always warned her about landing in places that seemingly did not exist, but Natasha had a crew much more competent than the others.
Amid her exploration, she heard a song. You sang a song of hubris and overconfidence to a woman much too strong and far too determined. Unlike all the sailors you had eaten before, Natasha was not driven by lust. Curiosity and raw strength were all she needed to overpower you.
Natasha had you pinned down and subjected to some rather intense questioning. You had many of your own. The two of you talked for hours. Everything you knew about humans was only from eating them. Natasha only knew about sea life from the perspective of a human. The hours flew by until Natasha's crew came looking for her. It was at that moment that you made a split-second decision. You grabbed Natasha's hand and joined her crew without a second thought.
It was love at first sight for both of you, but Natasha had something else in it for her. When she slit the palm of your hand, you bled a shimmery blue substance. It was then that Natasha's lack of knowledge of your anatomy became apparent. She was curious and that curiosity would be the death of you. Natasha wanted to experiment. She wasn't a scientist like Tony or Bruce, but she figured conducting research couldn't be that hard. Especially since you were a mostly willing subject.
"Your teeth are so clean," Natasha noted as she examined your teeth. They were smooth and white as pearls. It was shocking, especially considering how sharp they were. She curiously poked her thumb against one of the fangs. "They're so sharp too," She whispered in awe. Her fingers grazed your bottom lip and pushed down until your tongue came out.
It was quite long and had a strange purple color. The tip of it was pointed and strangely flexible. Teasingly, you slipped the wet muscle between Natasha's fingers. Unfortunately, it didn't have the reaction you wanted. Natasha pulled her hand away and began writing in a little red notebook. "What, did you not like that?" You asked nervously.
"It was interesting." She mumbled absentmindedly. Natasha focused entirely on writing for an awkward amount of time. "Can you pull your tongue out again?" An appreciative smile spread across her lips. It was deceptively cute. Her thumb pressed down on the center of your tongue and rubbed it until you started to drool. She took note of the thickness and color. "Is this just saliva or can it do other things?"
"It can be an aphrodisiac in large amounts," You mumbled while wiping your chin. You were confused. Was Natasha teasing you or was this her weird way of learning more? It didn't feel right but it wasn't wrong. As long as she didn't start cutting you open, there wasn't much to worry about. That's what you hoped at least.

Natasha had yet to pull out the surgical tools, but her exploration of you had gotten a lot more sensual.

You would've never thought coming back from a swim would warrant another impromptu examination. Well, you should've seen it coming. Natasha had never seen you in deep sea form before. If she didn't pester you about what you ate, she'd probably try and get a scale off of you.

The fins on your ears weren't as soft and sensitive as the ones on your neck. Their purpose was obvious and Natasha had already documented it in her notebook. Now she was just toying with you. "What about that?" It doesn't, but she liked to tease a bit.
You could barely keep yourself upright. "No, it just-" your hands clamped down over your mouth to suppress any noises that may have slipped out. The rest of the crew had made some not-so-subtle complaints about all the moaning that leaked through the cracks of Natasha's quarters. "You're having too much fun with this," You whimpered. It was pathetic. Sirens were one of the most dangerous creatures in the ocean and here you were being a plaything for some pirate.
Even when your knees buckled Natasha continued to tease. She placed her boot between your legs and smirked. "This is all the help you're gonna get from me." The laugh that came out of her was nothing short of evil. "Come on, don't be shy. It'll make you feel good." The tip of her boot nudged against your clit.

You clear your throat in an attempt to keep the tears of embarrassment from flowing. As odd as it was, you couldn't find it in yourself to be upset with Natasha. You should've expected such strange affection from a woman somehow able to withstand the temptation of your song. "It's okay…" You're not entirely sure what else to say. Your relationship with her was just starting to develop and it was already so overwhelming. "I knew you were a weirdo, I just didn't think you'd be a freak too."
Natasha giggled and placed a kiss on one of your gills. "Whelp, you're in it for the long wrong now."

They sit in silence. Wanda's staring at her hands. A stranger walking past would not even notice them. Hell, they might think they were harmless, beautiful, even. But, no. They were the most dangerous things in the world, and she'd been bestowed with them.
Nat is staring at Wanda's eyes. She likes staring at people's eyes. But she is doing it out of fury, now.
Wanda plays with her fingers, her chaotic fingers, biting her lip. Her mind drags her to the night when she saw you, first.
At this point, she could've sworn, sworn that you walked in with wings behind you. She'd loved you first, but Nat had got you first.
"Do you think you could help me? Come on. No one else is going to be interested in loving me, at least this clearly kind soul will."
"You want me to make you guys fall in love?"
"No, just direct this... Y/N in my direction. Unless you'd feel guilty?"
"I don't feel guilt."
This was the greatest lie ever told, and she'd said it, fooling even herself.
But she does. She feels guilt. She's guilty about losing her brother. She's guilty about being unable to do anything for her parents. She's guilty. But those things, they're alright. Because she knows, deep down, that when people say: 'It's not your fault', there's truth in that.
No one would say that now.
The guilt hadn't come for a month. It hadn't come for two months. But it came.
Come on, what's the point of having powers if you don't use them? Yes, true.
But this was wrong.
Natasha had made her gone too far, and now, she was a full-on accomplice. It was always: 'Just once more. It's wearing off. Once more. Come on.'
Desperate to be liked by the toughest person to impress on the team, she did it. But soon, the intoxication of control seeped into her blood, and she looked forward to being able to use her powers.
Until she didn't. Until she fell. Until she repented.
She could never feel pure again after this.
'It's wearing off' had seemed like a viable excuse up until then. Yeah. It's wearing off, so you need to fix it. Rebuild it. Redo it. Human nature.
But as the requests began getting more and more aggressive, demanding and cruel, Wanda's enthusiasm faded like scars.
It's not like she could tell anyone. "I changed my mind, though!" is a pretty shit excuse for aiding and abetting a mind-rape.
No. Committing. Nat had no powers. All she'd done was blackmail her. 'If people find out you're capable of witch magic besides chaos magic, your image is tarnished. You'll lose your job. You'll lose... everything.'
Apparently, according to Natasha, it's not blackmail if it's true.
But as she presses on her fingers till the bones break, this seems less and less true.
Guilt's a bitch.
Maybe it's because the life you'd had, before Natasha had forced this new one on you, was the most mundane, rawly human one she'd seen. Or maybe it's because every time she does Natasha's bidding, she gets to experience a part of you. Maybe it's love.
Hopefully not, Natasha would slit her throat.
Let's go with a moral compass. After getting used to being on the good side, she's developed a moral compass. Either way, she was fighting the urge to undo everything, because each spell was cementing the lies in your mind.
Every lie was strengthened by its successive one, and, well, what could she say? As your mind gets more and more tightly wound with them, in a while, you would lose any sense of you.
"Y/N said something about you.", says Natasha, sniffing as she looked up at her.
"Alright. Great."
Yes, good, this is what she was hoping would happen. She feigns obliviousness, reaching over to her shelf to arrange the books she pretends to read. "I mean: WHAT? What do you mean?"
"What the fuck, do you think this is some kind of game? How the fuck does Y/N know you're from Sokovia?"
"Maybe side effects-"
Natasha knocks the book out of her hand, grabbing her shoulders and making her face her. "You said that the only side effects were scrambled memories of Y/N's past life! How the fuck-"
She furrows her brows, and in that moment, Wanda's aware that there's no way she's getting out of this one. "You knew Y/N. Before."
Deadly eyes. And they were directed onto her.
"Barely. We were neighbours."
'Yes, but you in fact, knew each other."
Wanda looks down. Sighing, she nods. "Yes."
Nat leaves her shoulders, holding her forehead as if she'd just been hit there. "What game are you playing, Maximoff?"
"One where Y/N isn't mind-raped everyday. One where you're not tossing free will out the window."
"Y/N LOVES ME!"
"How do you know that? Not a moment between you has been real. It's a fabricated little love story you've created, some... idealistic fantasy you want me to replicate for you day after day. And every time the truth begins to slip out... as it always will, you come back to me, make me destroy Y/N's idea of self so that you can play house!"
"Y/N did love me, once! Once! And we will love again."
"Just because you were in love in your universe, it doesn't mean-"
"It does mean! It's the same person, just different universes! Our souls are the same!"
"What if they aren't? What if Y/N needs a normal life before falling for you? Or... you know... someone else?"
This will forever be remembered as the moment that Wanda saw pure rage manifesting in front of her.
"Are you fucking kidding me?", laughs Natasha, anger pooling into this laugh like water pools into rockpools when the tide reaches them. "Someone else ? You love Y/N? Really? You think it's even a choice between you and me?"
"What choice ? You've taken every choice away!"
"Listen, Maximoff, it's way too late to get a moral compass. Now, fix this."
Wanda turns back to her books. "FIX THIS! FIX THIS, OR I KILL YOU!", she threatens.
"I doubt you'd be able to mail-order a witch who'd continue this."
Nat chuckles again, this time, more hostile than before. "Fix. It. Fix it or I kill Y/N."
"Drop the gun or I undo everything."
"What the fuck are you going to do after that? Try and seduce Y/N?", she mocks, circling her. "Report me? And what about you? You didn't just aid the crime, you committed it, Maximoff. Your hands are as red as mine, maybe redder."
"I feel pity for you, I do. How did you turn from the woman I looked up to, to... this?"
"Who cares? Fix it."
"What did Y/N say about me?" She's stalling. It's probably painfully clear to everyone, even Nat, but she supposed Nat thinks humouring her wouldn't be too annoying.
"Nothing much. Just muttered your name, sprinkled something about Sokovia."
"While sleeping? Yeah, I should think so.", snorts Wanda. This is dangerous terrain she's entering into, but she can't sit back and watch as Natasha fucks up your life.
For now, let's go back to Wanda insinuating things she did not want to go around insinuating. Not with Natasha. She's poking the bear with a stick. Poking the assassin with her own gun.
"Choose your next words wisely, Maximoff."
"I fucked Y/N."
The repercussions are almost instantaneous. Birds stop singing, wind stops blowing, heart stops beating. She stills.
It's forever, this moment. It feels as if it won't end. She brings her dagger to Wanda's throat, but she isn't scared. Something tells her it will drop in a moment. Or at the very least, maybe draw blood. She wouldn't kill her. She can't. She needs her to manipulate you.
"You didn't. I'm always with Y/N." It's clear that even she doesn't believe a word she says.
"Are you together now? Am I usually here at this time? Do the math."
"Wanda, you fucking..."
A tear falls from her eye, but Wanda would be damned if she allowed herself to relent based on a villain's false tear.
"What? Are you worried that I mind-controlled Y/N to do it? No, Natasha. I don't do that shit. Who am I, you? So, if there truly is a choice, I think there's at least an 80-20 chance for me."
"Oh, so that's where this sudden urge to be a good citizen has surfaced from. You don't want to stop fucking Y/N. Right. Because if I try to give Y/N a clean slate, a start-over, you won't be wanted anymore."
"On some level, Romanoff, I think I'll always be wanted.", she nods, staring into her eyes. "Voluntarily, unlike you."
A knock on the door.
"Wanda?"
"Coming! One moment!"
Nat turns back to Wanda. "Maximoff, we're not done yet. Just because you knew each other, doesn't mean Y/N's going to have to continue fucking you, kid. It's not love if the other person's in a daze half the time."
"That's kind of a pot-kettle thing to say, isn't it?"
She takes the dagger off, making her way out the door. Alive . This was extremely lucky. Unprecedented.

"Maybe it's not something you like hearing, Stark, but..."
"Look, Nat, you're beautiful, you're great. But I just don't get how someone could know about all your baggage and still..."
"That is such a shit thing to say. Nat, sober Tony would never say this.", assures Rhodey, with a glare at Tony.
"It's fine, but it's true. Y/N's a rare find."
Wanda almost scoffs.
"Oh, don't go all diamond-in-the-rough-magic-lamp-blue-genie on us.", huffs Clint, in utter frustration. Who could blame him, though? He'd been receiving this worship for as long as he could remember.
"Hey, no, I want to hear about this baggage-ignoring lover that would lay their life down for Nat!", whines Tony, petulantly.
'"Guys, I'm going to bed. See you.", says Wanda, avoiding eye contact like a criminal avoids the law. Nat's eyes narrow, but she doesn't even skip a beat before saying: "Oh, come on, you barely socialise anymore. Stay."
Wanda tries not to look at her, but she does. The smallest hint of a smirk tells her she'd better stay. "Fine." , she replies, seating herself a little further from her than before, but still within earshot.
"Alright, now go on. Tell us about this amazing... Y/N, was it?"
"Yes."
Wanda watches her gaze soften as she talks about you, as though she was truly in love with you. Well, maybe she is, but it wasn't reciprocated, at least not voluntarily. Sometimes, like this moment, she wishes she were dead, or at least she wishes she was not accountable for her actions, she wishes she were stronger, she wishes... well, she wishes that... she wasn't herself.
For, if she weren't, maybe she would be able to stop such an injustice, such a... crime.
But instead, she is the one committing it.
She needs to warn you. Like, now, because once Natasha tells someone else the lie about how you met, the spell sticks. It is odd, but hey, it's witchcraft. It's not a perfect science.
Natasha's eyes flit over to her from time to time, and Wanda begins to think she'll be too late. She is still talking about how great you are. No one has asked how you met. But suddenly, as if the universe saw her truly good intentions, Natasha turns the other way, engrossed in a conversation with Steve. From whatever she could hear, it sounded like they weren't talking about you anymore.
Wanda turns, her hand rummaging into her pocket for something sharp, and when she happens upon it, she gently pulls it out towards her wrist. Sharp twinges of pain, but they're not enough. She finally cuts deep enough to draw blood. She's careful not to even let out a whimper, lest Natasha's quick eyes and even quicker mind catch on.
The hex was one of love and adoration, and so she smears the red over her lips, feeling it dry up immediately. Oh, the weird things she has to do for her craft. She watches Natasha, chanting as much of the original incantation as she can remember.
And suddenly, you're in front of her, seemingly in the same room, but invisible to everyone else.
You seem confused. Bewitched.
"Where am I? Who are you?"
What could she tell you? You deserve better? You deserve me ? Seeing as she was the one who did the manipulating, this notion is laughable.
"I'm Wanda Maximoff.", she mouths, but of course, it's an absolutely idiotic assumption that her name would be easily deciphered by lip reading.
Thinking quickly, she streaks some blood from her still-throbbing hand to her nose, as you watch in horror. Tony is the first to notice.
"Hey, Witchy-moff, your nose is bleeding.", he informs her, pointing at her. His face shows genuine concern, so she touches her finger to her face, puts on her best horrified face.
This is the first time you turn. You notice a familiar face, your beautiful Natasha's face, and you're running to her. "Nat, where the fuck am I?"
Wanda breaks at how hurt you look as she looks right through you.
"Whoa. It's fine, I've got first-aid in my room.", she tells them, and even Nat doesn't seem to harbour any suspicion. She glares at you, gesturing with her eyes for you to follow her. Maybe it was the urge to redeem herself in her eyes, at least, if not yours, but she convinces herself that she is innately good.
You follow her.
In her room, you look around curiously, as if you've never seen such darkness before. "Is this... meant to be a cauldron?', you ask her.
"Yeah. Tony installed it as a joke. I don't use cauldrons. I'm not a brewer."
"So this is just a necklace and not a talisman?", you question, next.
"Uh, no. That is... indeed a talisman. You want it?"
"Whoa, no! I don't mess around with this occult shit, lady!", you exclaim, moving away from it as though it would devour you if you were any closer. If only you knew.
"Y/N, I'm Wanda Maximoff."
"Oh, yes, one of Nat's colleagues."
"She... talks about me?"
She can't even hide her surprise. She wants to tell you that this makes her feel as though she is in a movie, and this is the part where she'd better run.
She doesn't. She doesn't speak, she doesn't run.
"Yeah, a lot. She said you're the one who helped her talk to me when she first saw me."
Huh? "What?"
"Apparently you gave her a pep talk, and convinced her that life is short, blah-blah-blah, and she decided to ask me out. So, thanks."
No, she convinced me that life is short, and that no one would ever truly love her. She convinced me to fuck up your life.
The door opens, and Natasha walks in. "Hey, kid.", she calls, seating herself down next to her on the bed, elbow resting on one knee. "About this morning. I know you didn't actually sleep together."
How the fuck did she find out? Maybe Wanda isn't as good at the poker face as she thought.
She can't help looking at you.
"Look, I know it's wrong. But I didn't mean to make you scared."
"She can't see me?", you ask, raising a brow.
"No."
"No what?", asks Natasha, with her signature frown. Scratch that. Wanda's brilliant at the poker face, because she covers up pretty easily.
"No, it's fine."
"It's just... I just can't let you break it. I just can't."
You stand. She supposed you wish to test out this theory, do obscure things like dancing around the room, to check whether you were visible.
She's right.
You wave your hand in front of Nat's face, you twirl around, and somehow, you end up on Wanda's lap.
"Nat, it's not love, it's imprisonment.", she tells her, tucking your hair behind your ear. You get up.
"What? No, Y/N loves me, too."
"Y/N didn't even know you existed until-"
She bites her tongue, suddenly aware of both your presences.
Nat sighs, patting Wanda on the shoulder. "It's too late for a moral compass, honey.", she repeats.
She's right. What was she doing, bringing you here?
"You fucked up just as much as me.", she reminds her, as if that truth isn't ripping at her soul every day. Because she's an accomplice. Because if she stops, you're both strangers. Nat can't have you, and if that happens, she can't see you. She can't pine for you.
"Maximoff, you remember what I told you that night you... introduced me to Y/N? You were having second thoughts. What did I tell you?"
'You blackmailed me', she thinks.
"No one would let me live if they knew chaos wasn't the only type of magic I harness."
"It's not blackmail if it's true."
Yes, it is.
"Clint isn't telling anyone because I told him not to. Me."
Yes, yes, black magic or whatever the hell it was that she inherited in addition to chaos is extremely awful and hated everywhere. I know.
"Nat, this is wrong. You're essentially keeping Y/N prisoner.", she replies realising that she's been singing this song for ages.
Nat sighs. Wanda tries not to look over at you, now at the window, urging her to make you visible.
"Wanda, sweetie, there's no way you can get out of this. Aiding and abetting an essential mind-rape. Technically committing said mind-rape. You're far from innocent. And I see the way your face changes every time we talk about Y/N. What do you think, that because of your efforts now, Y/N'll love you later? Kid, you don't know how the world works."
"Wanda Maximoff, what does she mean by mind-rape?"
Wanda grimaces, turning toward you. Nat watches in confusion. According to her, there's no one there.
You're hyperventilating. Your eyes are wide, your hand is on your chest, and you're moving back, scurrying away from the both of them as if they would stab you if you were an inch closer.
"Y/N, please listen."
"What?"
"Natasha, not now. Y/N, listen to me, we-"
"You took my whole life, didn't you? With your... pagan shit. They should've burned you, too!"
"Who are you talking to, Maximoff? Y/N's at home."
"Oh, for-", she mutters, swinging her wrist to make the spell crumble so that you were visible.
Nat's entire demeanour changes in the blink of an eye. She goes from confused to horrified to feigning calm.
"Wanda, erase this memory."
She does it. Without a second thought, which she ought to have had, she erases your memory of this event. The only chance she had to make things right, she fucked it up, starting the cycle again. Instead, she bent the knee, she gave in, she allowed the knowledge that she'd probably never see you again take control.
Your little neighbourhood was destroyed, no chance she'd see you when she's out getting mail. Natasha was the only way she could see you. She was the only way you could interact, because, let's face it, she doesn't have the courage to say, like, three words to you.
In the end, her mind draws up some good-faith treaties with her heart. A truce. There's no point undoing everything, because it was her destiny. Or so she convinces herself.
So she'll manipulate you, make you dance to Nat's whim, all while being exposed to the most intimate parts of your brain, for her sadistic, perverted pleasure.
After all, what's the point of having powers if you don't use them?

It was only obvious that Natasha took the dominant role in your relationship. It's been that way her whole life, so why would it be any different when it came to you. It only came natural to you that you waited on her, hand and feet, always listening to what she tells you to do, getting anything she asks you to. So that's why you were laid on your stomach, eating the red head out with a newly found earnest.

You sat with your knees pulled close to your chest, silent tears streaming down your face. You held your breath, your mind a mantra of numbers.

Natasha’s words rang through your head, each repeated syllable caused another wave of panic and nausea to overcome you. 
Why do you have to be a burden all the time, Y/N. God, my job is hard enough without your nagging.
You tried to keep the sobs contained in your chest as you rocked back and forth on the bed, Natasha’s side unused and cold. She was probably at the bar, you thought, that’s where she always went after an argument. She would stumble back in around 3am, breath smelling of beer and some other girls perfume.
But you never said anything. You didn’t want to annoy her anymore than you already did.
You didn’t want to loose her completely. She still came home to you, didn’t she? That had to mean something.
It wasn’t a secret that you were afraid of change. You guessed thats why your relationship with Natasha stayed the same, never changing from the nights of eating dinner alone, sitting still while Natasha yelled at you, waiting for her to come home reeking of alcohol and infidelity.
You wished she would just tell you to leave, kick you out. You wished you would come home one day to her shoving your things in suitcases, forcing you out of your shared apartment. That would allow you to leave, allow her to find someone that she wouldn’t fall out of love with, someone who wouldn’t bother her with mundane questions of whether or not she was okay, how the mission went. Find someone who loved her better than you did.
Natasha reminded you everyday of how she could find someone better, that your relationship, your love, wasn’t enough for her. She reminded you everyday that you weren’t enough, yet you still stayed with her.
You don’t know when your relationship went south. You look back on the romantic dates and forehead kisses like one does on a fading memory.
You don’t know what you did to make her fall out of love.
It felt like a lifetime since you were happy. Like centuries had passed since Natasha last smiled at you with love shining in her eyes. You knew everyone had to make mistakes in life and surely you had done a lot of things wrong. Loving Natasha was one of them. Falling in love with her had to be one of the biggest mistakes of your life. Because now, she was no longer in love with you and you can’t move on. You felt like you were dying inside with each passing day filled with dreading every second.
You heard the front door open, Natasha’s drunken footsteps echoing through the halls. She stumbled a few times, bumping into the walls. When she opened the bedroom door, all she did was stare at you blankly. You avoided her gaze, not wanting her to see the tears in your eyes and staining your cheeks. Instead, you looked at your closet, where your suitcase was stored. Maybe today she would kick you out, tell you to leave. Maybe today she would set you free from the prison you trapped yourself in.
“Why are you still awake?” Her cold voice cut through the silence as she slurred her words. You maneuvered yourself under the covers of the bed, pulling the blanket up to your chin. You shrugged in response to her question. Natasha scoffed.
“Really? No answer?”
You sniffed, wiping away stray tears as you once again shrugged in response. Natasha shook her head as she changed into her pajamas, coming to sit next to you in bed. Her eyes bore into you as she took in your shaking form, you had obviously been crying. While guilt blended through her system, you braced yourself for the words she had spoken to you every night.
After all, she reminded you everyday you weren’t enough but you still stayed.
Why would tonight be any different?

None of these jobs have it easy that's why it's always highly appreciated, almost by most, but that doesn't matter. Out of everything you done for your team,
This risk that you want to take is the hardest out of all of them, ask your girlfriend to marry you, now anyone would say that it shouldn't be that hard, if you know that this person loves you they will say yes but that's not the issue.
Issue is, asking the family to give the approval even if they don't have to, here is the thing your girlfriend had two families, her crazy Russian family and the Avengers including Nick Furry, that guy scares you.
You realised that you wanted to be with Natasha for the rest of your life and you knew she was your person, but not long ago, when the two of you started to date, it was chaotic.
If you really think about it, even before dating the two of you were like fire and water, two different people who liked doing opposite things, like Natasha liked to train, be on top of her game, whilst you liked to party every night, just to relax.
You didn't even think about being chained to someone at the time, but Natasha did, as soon as she laid her eyes on you she knew she wanted to be with you.
You were confident of what you wanted, and somehow in the end through hard work you always had it in your hands, she liked that because that was her in some ways.
She liked how opposite yous were, even if she was more work concentrated she knew that she would spend her time with you anywhere you went.
Ever since dating you, she managed to convince you to train with her, she loved to stare at you break a sweat whilst she barely did anything.

You and your sister parted rather quickly, back when this has happened you would end up bent over a stall and got wacked with a belt for messing around.
You both mutter an apology and then you finally greeted your mom, it was a little awkward but definitely you could last in the house because of it,
As you parted, your mother frowned "You brought a friend to a family dinner?"
You looked over at Natasha who was about to say something but you managed to cut her off "I will get to that in a second mom, lets walk inside and not have dad wait for me"
This has taken back Natasha, she had a lot of questions, why didn't you just say she was your girlfriend? Were you embarrassed? But that was cut short when you took her hand in yours and pulled her towards where you assumed was your dad.
As soon as you saw him you let go and walked over to him, giving him a gentle kiss on her cheek and a hug as a greeting form from you, this time Natasha walked behind you, she wanted to get involved.
As you parted, Natasha extended her hand to shake his "Hello Mr Y/l/n"
He had a gentle smile across his face "Ah hello, I remember Y/n mentioning someone coming, i thought she was going to finally bring a boy but this is okay too"
You sighed as you faced the other way, realising that nothing changed, in this moment you didn't even want to tell them you're dating the redhead but now you had to.
"Oh, I think you have it wrong-" She was going to correct him but you butted in.
"How about, I show you something upstairs Natasha?" You wanted to take her hand but you knew it would make this more hard.
She gave you a frowned but either way she nodded and followed you up to a room, she assumed it was your room by the looks of the interior.
As she closed the door, you immediately attached yourself to her as you placed a sweet kiss on her lips, not wanting her to speak for now, it was harder to explain.
She pulled away from you with a smile that you always managed to put on her lips, she wanted to say something but once again your lips got in the way.

Just as she was about to push you against the wall and just do whatever you allow her to do, someone knocked on the door, you sighed knowing that this would happen.

She opened the door as she peaked out to see her sister on the other side "Hey, can you tell Y/n that dinner is ready to be served but they are waiting up on you both"
Natasha nodded as she closed the door, and looked back at you, eyes on the her the whole time as you felt light friction of her leg against your centre.
A muffled moan managed to escape from your mouth, the redhead knew what she was doing, she unbuttoned your jeans as she slipped her hand into your panties.
Pressing her palm against your warm centre, your back arced of the wall a little, another knock came but this time someone spoke up "Y/n come on down, father is getting impatient"

You swallowed the nerves that were sitting at the edge of your throat and nodded before finally telling them, you put your hand on the table where Natasha's was.
Taking her hand into yours "I brought Natasha here because I wanted her to meet yous and finally for yous to meet her, as she is my girlfriend"
Your mother frowned "Well we know shes a girl and a friend"

In the heat of this, you stood up and ran to your room, as you locked yourself in there. your sister and Natasha both looked back at you, knowing that one of them needed to go to you.
Your sister didn't waste a second as she followed you, Natasha stood up as she looked at your parents "you two should be ashamed that you think treating your child like that is acceptable"
Your mother rolled her eyes "This is your fault, if it wasn't for you brainwashing her, she would've finally married some hard working boy"
Natasha rolled her eyes in disbelief and anger at their words, she knew this was a battle not worth winning, she hurried upstairs just like before but she was met with a sight of your sister pleading for you to let her in.

Your chin was resting on her shoulder, as more tears rolled down your face, you felt guilty, how could you let Natasha witness such abuse from them, you thought she might take you as a weakling.

Yous managed to finally stand up, you both came to an agreement that yous were going to ditch, take your sister with you so she can meet the team instead of staying here in this toxic place.
As Natasha was going to walk out first, you pulled on her hand as you pulled her back, wanting nothing more than to kiss her, so you did, you felt her hand on your hips, giving it a light squeeze.
But yous were interrupted by your parents bursting inside, your father boiling at the sight of you kissing a woman, "This will not happen under my roof"
He walked over as he grabbed your arm but Natasha stopped him, grabbing onto him "Don't touch her"
He narrowed his eyes and tried to get out of her grip to kick you out but he underestimated women, especially Natasha, her grip tightened "I said don't touch her"
"I don't like to repeat myself, so you're going to hear it once, you and your wife are going to move out of our way as we go, if you try anything I promise you, I won't be your only enemy" She was scary, no one really understood that until they experience it first hand.
Your mother was livid, she stood there shocked "You're just going to let her talk to us like that Y/n?"
You looked at her "Yes, because for the first time in my life, someone else other than my siblings stood up for me, I love her, mom and if yous can't accept that then that is your problem"
Natasha wanted more than anything to look over and show her true reaction but she had to appear terrifying in front of your parents, she let go of your dad as he stumbled back slightly.
You held onto Natasha's arm, intertwining your hands together "If you're gonna disown me then know that it's for the best, I was doing okay without yous and I am sure I will be better now"
They were taken back, usually you just sat there and took their abuse but this time you didn't, you put your foot down and along with the Russian and your sister, yous left.
As you and Natasha got into the car, those words couldn't leave her mind, you loved her, a feeling she was scared to show in case you would run away.
Before Natasha started her car, she looked over at you, you looked at her with confusion to why yous aren't moving off, she had a gentle smile across her face.
"Why are you smiling like that?" You asked with a smile across your lips.
"What you said in there- Did you actually mean it?" She asked, being scared that maybe you just said it to get them off your back.
You knew what she was referring to "Of course, I love you Nat"
She beamed at your words, her hand found itself on your face, pulling you in for a kiss, wanting to take a moment to soak those words in "I love you too"
Of course, that day was something else but in the end it made you realise that she was the person who was going to be by your side no matter what.
Ever since that day, your parents didn't contact you, even if they disowned you, you still wanted to give them one more chance, even if your sister thought otherwise.
Your proposal was delayed as Thanos became an issue, even if everything went well, he died, everything changed, Natasha changed, not in a bad way but the way she saw life was a lot different.
Many died fighting Thanos and that only made her want to be more prepared for the next threat. There was slight distance but you knew her better than anyone else.
So you decided to propose to her, not waste anymore time that has already passed. You managed to convince her to spend some time with the team instead of constantly training.
As you secretly went to meet with her parents, they were going to visit soon but you had to do it before Natasha would spend most of the time with them.
They didn't live too far but you still had to steal one of the jets from the compound to get there, as you arrived, you were met with a party, which was shocking as Natasha always explained that they never liked that type of stuff.
As you walked in, no one even noticed that you were there, that's when you noticed the team, which made you more confused, why were they there in the first place?
You walked up to Sam, who looked sober but that quickly changed when you saw his eyes held that intoxication look "What are you guys doing here?"
He smiled at your presence "We are here to party!"
That made the people raw at his words, it wouldn't been funny if you weren't in a rush to find Natasha parents, but of course before you could do that, she appeared out of no where.
"Oh my goshhh, it's my girlfriend, how are you my sexy детка (baby)" She was quick to snake her arm around you waist pulling you closer to her.
You had a smile from her affection, but you knew she was drunk from the way she spoke "What are you doing here Nat?"
She smiled "Tony wanted to have a party and I knew Alexi needed to chill out with us so here we are"
You laughed it off but that stopped when what happened next shocked you, as you tried to gently get out of Natasha's grasp, she grabbed your right ass cheek with her hand and the other she smacked pretty hard.
That caused a gasp escape your mouth as a smirk appeared on hers "Natasha! Your parents are around"
She nuzzled her face into your neck "God I regret not fucking you sooner, I miss you"
It would've worked if there wasn't a chance for everyone to witness her wanting to publicly fuck you, you managed to push her away, leaving her just wanting more.
"Nat babe, maybe later, I am in a rush" You spoke to her as you kissed the tip of her nose.
She frowned "Where to?"
"I am looking for someone" You told her half truth, not wanting her to find out.
She nodded as her attention was pulled away from you by Bucky and Yelena challenging to do shots "I want to join!"
That was your chance, you needed to find Alexi and Melina before they got drunk and started to do anything the team dared them to, as you walked around the house that you were slightly familiar with.
You were able to locate Alexi by his strong voice and accent, he was somewhere in one of the rooms, you managed to find him with Melina in the same room, they were discussing something.
"I am telling you, something is wrong with them" Alexi voiced his concern to his wife.
You didn't mean to eavesdrop on their conversation but it was a pure accident, "It does seem like it, maybe we should question them about it?"
You walked in, knowing you couldn't keep listening to their conversation "Alexi, Melina, I was looking for yous"
They both faced you with smiled across their faces "We were just talking about you, which is why we need to talk to you"
You nodded "Okay, sure, what's up?"
Melina gestured for your to sit down to which you did, she then crossed her arms "we are worried about you and Natasha.."
You frowned "Worried about us? Why?"
"We noticed that Natasha hasn't been that in love with you anymore" Alexi spoke quite bluntly which earned him an elbow in the side from Melina.
Now you were worried "What do you mean? You guys think she doesn't love me anymore?"
Melina gave you a reassuring smile "No. It's just that she seems more distant than normal"
It still made you worry, you came in here to ask her hand in marriage and now that they said that, it made your thoughts spiral "I mean it kinda makes sense, we haven't slept with each other for months, she only gets touchy when she drinks"
You covered your face with your hands "Oh god, I feel so embarrassed now, I came here to ask yous if I can have her hand in marriage, I want to marry her but if this is true then she will reject me"
"At least you won't humiliate yourself now" Alexi commented with a laugh that was cut off when Melina smacked the back of his head with her hand.
Melina kneeled in front of you "I think you should go for it, it's only our assumption that could be wrong, and I really hope it is because she is always so happy with you"
You looked up at her "So you two approve?"
She nodded with a smile "Of course, we ship yous to the moon and back"
Alexi kneeled too "She is right, I approve because my little girl is finally happy and stressed free and if yous haven't rubbed private parts together then don't-"
Melina pushed him as he fell to the ground which made him shut up and stop making this situation any worse "Don't listen to him, sometimes he just doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut"
it made you laugh to which you nodded and decided to leave them two be to their own stuff that they wanted to do, even if you still had slight doubt about this but you took a deep breath and tried your best to not think about it but fully focus on making this perfect.
You were ready to ask her, but you remembered Nicki, the scary man that would kill you if you broke Natasha heart, you knew he would be around here, controlling the team if anything went out of hand.
Even if he always said that the team wasn't his responsibility, but you knew deep down that he cared for everyone here, you were able to locate him pretty fast, he hang around Natasha.
You walked up to him as you leaned on your side "Hey Fury, can we talk somewhere quiet?"
He eyed you before agreed and allowing you to follow him out in the balcony "What did you want?"
"I know your busy with the party but I have an important question to ask" You spoke quite sternly, you felt that he liked those type of conversations.
"I know Natasha is like a daughter for you, she speaks about you all the time and it's nice to know that someone is looking after her too, so I felt like this was important to her too" You started to explain, not wanting to waste any more time.
"Get to the point Y/l/n" He crossed his arms as he kept his eyes on your face.
"I want to ask if I can have Natasha's hand in marriage, she means the world to me and after Thanos and everything, I have wasted enough time to know that I want to spend the rest of my life with her" You asked the dreading question, wanting it to be a positive outcome.
He kept quiet as he stared into your sole for a whole long moment, until he cracked a smile "Of course! I approve, marry her Y/n, she deserves to be happy, just like you"
You were quite taken back from his sudden approval, you thought it was going to be a lot more harder but nevertheless you weren't going to argue against that.
He gave you a quick hug and hurried you out to contiune planning your proposal, which you did, but not before you dragged Natasha with you back to the compound.
The whole time her mouth was just attached to your skin, but the words of Alexi kept replying in your mind, maybe it was time to talk to her about it rather than hide behind planning.
As the new day came, you found yourself sleeping in the bed alone again, you sat up and noticed a paper by your phone, you took it "We have to talk, meet me by the jets at 5PM"?
You frowned, can't she talk to you like a normal person after waking up? Not leave letters, even after asking Fury and Melina along with Alexi for Natasha's hand in marriage, you still had slight doubt.
What if they were right, that she was completely out of love with you, what if her distancing herself from you was a sign that you decided to ignore?
You didn't want this doubt, god no, you wanted to believe that she was so in love with you, that she has spent most of her time imagining how it would be to spend the rest of her life with you.
You decided to leave the note where it was, changing in the bathroom and heading to see if the team left for a mission to justify why Natasha was gone in the morning.
But as you walked in the living area, everyone was there, literally the whole team except Natasha "Hey"
They all looked at you, blank expression before smiling hugely at your face "Hey"
You could see by Sam's eyes he had a hangover, pillow over his head to block out too much noise and light, causing you to laugh at him "Someone drunk wayyy too much"
He pointed his finger up as if to warn you but you knew he wouldn't do anything, you sat down next to Steve "Are there any missions for today?"
He shook his head "Uh no, Fury knew that most of us was going to be drunk so he decided against assigning anyone for the time being"
You nodded, this confirmed that Natasha ran away from you in the morning, not wanting to talk to you but leave a note, you didn't even want to talk to her anymore.
So you stood up, as you walked off to spend your time elsewhere, and that was with Maria Hill, you and her were closer than now, well closer before you gotten with Natasha.
It was obvious to everyone that she had a big crush on you, you weren't stupid, she told you herself before you dated Natasha but you never felt that towards her to which she respected.
Even if she still flirts with you and sometimes you flirt back as a joke, it's nothing serious, as you sat on her desk, waiting for her to stroll in and start her work, you knew she would love your company.
It didn't take long for her to walk in, she didn't notice you as her head was down too busy in the papers in her hand, you took that as an opportunity to scare her.
You got off the desk as quietly as you could and walked towards her, with a smile "Hill!"
The sudden scream made Maria jump, she swung with the papers in hand, if you were any closer she would've hit you, you raised your brows at her "Are you planning to kill someone?"
She closed her eyes for a brief moment to take a breath, which helped her calm her heart, she opened her eyes as she was finally met with your grinning face.
"Someones you act like a dick" She answered as she gave you a glare.
You shrugged "How else am I suppose to annoy you?"
She shook her head as she proceeding to walk forward but forgetting that she dropped something, making her trip and fall straight ahead, you not having enough time to react, made you both fall to the ground.
Maria on top of you, your noses close to touching which indicated how close yous ended up to each other, you started to chuckle " Never took you as a top Hill"
That caused a blush to spread across her cheeks "Seems like you're lacking more than that"
You smirked "Are you just going to stay like this, pinning me down or are you going to get up?"
She rolled her eyes, getting up and giving you a helping hand, somehow yous still were close, the issue was the this was purely innocent interaction, but as Fury walked past and saw yous being way too close.
He raised his brow ever so slightly at the scene and walked on, as you took couple steps back and sat on the desk again, it was pleasant to be around Maria again, as much as Maria tried to distant herself, she missed you, your friendship that you could only offer her.
You didn't spend too much time over there, you still had other stuff to do, you didn't have a completely day off, you still had to do some reports that Steve asked you to do and then help out Wanda with dinner, even if you weren't going to attend it.
And that's what you did, after 5 hours of being busy, you lost track of time, you wandered into the balcony, looking at the slowly setting dark that consumed the city.
Whilst you stood there, Natasha walked into Maria's office, in hopes of finding you here, that's where Fury saw you last, being way too close to the brunette.
Natasha hoped that she wouldn't see something that would kill her inside out, she trusted you but that didn't mean her doubts disappeared.
She saw no one but Hill, sitting by her desk, with a light on as she was reading something over, that caused the redhead to relax for a moment.
"Where's Y/n?" Natasha asked as she had her arms crossed.
Maria barely looked up to know that it was your girlfriend, she shrugged, which caused the Russian to huff in slight annoyance "She has been here, where did she go?"
This made Maria look up "I don't know, I don't have a tracker on her.. But it seems like you do"
The Russian rolled her eyes "Just keep your distant Hill, I am dating her not you"
Maria crossed her arms that were placed on the desk "By the looks of it, I have more of a chance to score a date than you do, even if you're dating her."
That caused Natasha to frown, you must've told Maria your doubts instead of the redhead "Well sorry to disappoint but she doesn't feel the same about you"
Maria shrugged "That's how it all starts but then you spend time with someone and those feelings form.."
Hill's face lit up in a teasing form "Oh wait, didn't that happen with you and Y/n?"
Natasha knew she shouldn't let that get to her, she knew she should just talk to you and get this sorted but the way Maria seemed so confident that you would form feelings for her, made her worry, she couldn't lose you..
The redhead rushed out, hoping to find you with the team, even if you weren't there the first time she was there. You didn't notice that you missed the time you were suppose to meet Natasha, even if you noticed, you didn't think that you would turn up.
Not after her leaving you in the morning with a note, maybe it was because you thought she was going to tell you that she didn't love you.
As you stood on the balcony, leaning on the railing, looking down and just admiring how each light turned on as more dark it got, that's when you felt some kind of warmth next to you.
You looked over to see Yelena, you didn't say anything and just looked back at the city but that didn't stop the blonde to say something "So you're hiding here"
"Not hiding at all, I'm just admiring the city" You answered her still with your eyes glued to the scenery in front of you.
She nodded "Well, Natasha is looking for you.."
You laughed through your nose "Seems like she's making other do the searching for her"
Yelena was taken back by your bitterness "Why are you angry with her?"
You looked down at your hands "I know she fell out of love with me, I don't know if I can face her, knowing she is going to leave me"
Yelena was clearly confused "Uh, I don't know who told you that but she looked worried, she mentioned Maria for some reason, she was desperate to find you so I don't find she was going to break up with you."
You frowned "But Alexi said-"
Yelena rolled her eyes "If you listen to him, you'll end up in jail like him so whatever he said about Natasha's feeling shouldn't even matter, he doesn't know anything"
Yelena was right, if anything she would know more about Natasha than Alexi or Melina, she closer to the Russian, you looked away from her as you covered your face with your hands.
"God I am so stupid, normally I wouldn't even pay attention to that, but she has been so distant lately that somehow it all connect" You explained as you moved your hands away.
Yelena nodded "She didn't tell me much but from what I know, it's just best to talk to her"
You knew Yelena would never tell Natasha's secrets, she had her back which made you adore their relationship as siblings, you smiled at her and nodded.
"Well then I guess this is just the perfect timing, I already asked everyone, can I have Natasha's hand in marriage" You stood straight as she faced you.
You shrugged with a slight eye roll "Technically this applies to parents and all that but you are important to her and frankly to me too"
Yelena smiled "Thank you, now do you want to me go get her or do you want to go?"
You sighed, knowing that you had to finally face her "I'll do it"
She nodded with a delicate smile, knowing that was the best decision, she waved you goodbye as she went off to annoy Kate and let you finally go after Natasha.
You took couple breaths in, as you walked out in the hall and made your way towards the living area, knowing that Natasha was going to be.
As you walked in, Natasha was pacing from one point to another which caused a small smile to spread across your lips, Yelena was right, she was worried.
Tony rolled his eyes "Can you just stand still, you're starting to annoy me"
She looked over at him with a glare "Shut up! What if something happened to Y/n? How am suppose to find her?"
Bucky's eyes founds yours from across the room "There is no need for that"
Natasha looked at him confused, she was going to open her mouth to question him but it was like a bulb lit up in her head, catching on what he meant, her head whipped to where his eyes were.
Finally laying her eyes on your beautiful face, she stood glued to her spot, not being sure if she should embrace you, but she followed her gut feeling.
She walked up to you and pulled you in for a hug, closing her eyes at the feeling of you hugging her back, you didn't feel stiff at the affection that was a good sign to Natasha.
Steve looked up now noticing the sight in front of him "Finally"
Natasha pulled away, still holding you with her arms, rolling her eyes and looking back at you "Can we talk?"
"Please Y/n take her away from us, its just pure torture" Tony pleaded with you as he stood up to get another drink.
You chuckled at his tone and nodded to Natasha, taking her hand in yours and pulling her out to the balcony that you were there not long ago.
Yous stood close to each other but not too close, giving that space in between each other, you leaned your side on the railing, not wanting to say anything first.
She took your hand into hers "Look, I am not going to lie to you, I went to Maria, Nick told me you was there as she was all over you, and she said something that me wonder.."
Your brows furrowed in confusion "What did she say?"
Natasha shook her head "I don't want to ruin your friendship with her but she said she has more of a chance to have you than me.."
Your confusion was still there, you did tell her your doubt about what Alexi said, it must've gave some sort of hope for Maria, the Russian continued "And it just made me wonder if you have any sort of feelings for Maria"
There was obvious fear in Natasha's eyes, it hurt you to see that, you instantly shook your head "No, of course not, I have stated to her clearly that I don't feel the same way about her."
"I know, but after all you can form those feelings after spending time with someone" She voiced her concern to you.
"Maybe so but I never saw Maria as more than a friend, I don't think you realise how much you mean to me, I was going insane thinking you fell out of love with me after what Alexi said" You raised your face a little, more from trying to make it clear to the Russian.
Now Natasha had the frown "Alexi? What did he say?"
You sighed "I noticed that you distanced yourself from me Nat, and I went to Melina and Alexi yesterday, for something.. They noticed your distancing too and Alexi said that you don't seem to be that in love with me anymore"
A single tear slid down your face at the thought of Natasha leaving you, she used her free hand to wipe that ear, making her look up at her with her thumb and index finger.
"I swear to god that man has it coming from me" Natasha shook her head slightly at the thought of Alexi messing everything up.
The corners of your mouth tugged up slightly, Natasha moved her hand as she placed it on your cheek, her thumb slightly caressing your skin "I love you. I love you. I love you"
You smiled "I love you too"
"God Y/n I love you so much, that it hurts, I can't imagine my life without you, I am sorry that I distant myself, I just needed some space after everything with Thanos, I regret not talking to you about it, please don't leave" Her other hand cupped the other side of your cheek, holding your face as she stared into your eyes.
You gripped her upper arms "I wish you did speak to me, we would've avoided this big misunderstanding but I am glad we did now, I never want to leave nor do I want to lose you"
She moved her face towards you, leaning her forehead against yours, you felt the moment was right, you moved your hand to your back pocket, you carried the ring with you in case there was a moment that made everything perfect.
What else was perfect than you and the redhead standing under the stars, having no doubts or worries, just love, that love that drove yous both to this.
You pulled away, making Natasha drop her hands from your face, you looked down at the ring, making the redhead look down too, the instant confusion that spread across her face made you understand that she had no clue.
You cleared your throat as you kneeled down on my knee, putting the little black box in front of you, and opening it for Natasha to see the ring.
"Natalia Alianovna Romanova will you do me the honours and marry me?" You asked, having no doubt that she was going to reject you.
She smiled at you using her full name "I will marry you Y/n, now and a million times if that's what you want"
You took her hand after taking out the ring out of the box and slipping that bad boy on her finger, watching as she admired the knew jewellery on her finger.
She leaned down as she placed a kiss on your lips, making you both sigh at the feeling, knowing how long it has been since yous properly gave each other the attention.
You stood up, not breaking the kiss, knowing that any longer and Natasha would be dragging you away to the bedroom and if you were honest, you would follow her without a complain.
That's when most of the team rushed in with phones in hands, making you pull away and get hugged by everyone at the same time, squeezing you even closer to Natasha.
It was a good day in the end for you, and even better to come as you and Natasha now had a better thing to do and that was to plan your wedding.
Something you never thought you would be doing in your life but here you were with your love, happier than ever, standing in the dressing room of the wedding venue, worried that you didn't look as perfect as you wanted.
Yelena and Wanda stood guard of yours and Natasha's rooms, so yous didn't slip out and see each other, they even scold yous separately that it's bad luck but it all felt uncomfortable without the Russian being by your side.
There were some complications that made you worry, this day was suppose to go perfect, it is suppose to be perfect but with the cake missing and the avengers spread out thin, Wanda along with Yelena had to help out.
Even if Peter was suppose to keep an eye out on your rooms, he was busy himself, so Natasha took her chance as she tiptoed to your room, opening it to reveal you in the most stunning dress that she has ever seen.
You fit in it like butter on toast, you looked like a queen in her eyes "Woah"
You turned around quickly as your eyes widen at the sight of your wife to be standing in front of you "Close your eyes! you're not suppose to see me!"
Natasha rolled her eyes but still had a smile "I don't care, I want to see my wife"
She walked up to you taking your hand in hers, feeling that happiness and those butterflies in her stomach at this moment, just like at the beginning of yours relationship.
"I would marry you right here" Natasha blurted out, her eyes dropped down ever so often as she couldn't stop taking you in.
You had a blush across your cheeks at her words "We are going to be married in couple hours"
Natasha shook her head "I want it now"
You chuckled "Well you have to wait baby"
She pulled your hand to her mouth as she held eye contact with you "I love you"
You had a huge smile across your lips, you loved this Natasha, the Natasha that wasn't afraid of being vulnerable with you, she had her heart displayed right in front of you each time and it called out your name.
She kissed up your hand until she reached the sleeve of your dress, she moved to your collarbone then to your neck and giving your lips a teasing taste of her kiss, leaving you to want more.
"I can't wait to kiss you in front of everyone" She whispered as she was inches away from your lips.
You smirked "You mean in front of Maria?"
Natasha tilted her head slightly, closing her eyes "Her too"
You would've rolled your eyes if they weren't closed already "Just remember that I am marrying you, not her"
That had her smiling like an idiot "I know, she will never find out the places that makes you weak in the knees"
You was going to open your eyes to look at her but before you could do that, she pulled you in for a promising kiss, one that promised a future that you could only dream off.
Her hand was on your lower back, pulling you even more closer if that was possible, your hands were on her neck pulling her in too, it was like a spell so compelling that you just couldn't stop.
She pulled away, smirking, knowing that it worked, that you would be staring at her hungrily after this, and that's exactly what was happening.
She pulled away from you entirely, making you miss her closeness within seconds "I better get going before they notice I am not in my dressing room"
You nodded "Go before I lock you in here with me and I won't let you out"
She smirked as she nodded, walking towards the door, she turned once more "Think of me when you're trying to relief some of that stress"
There it was, that feeling at the bottom of your stomach, with the way she spoke and put that imagine in your head just turned you on more but you had to control yourself.
You shooed her out and made sure to lightly touch up the makeup that Natasha manage to ruin, as time went by everything was ready, the only thing that was to do was for you to walk out.
You hoped to see your parents, your dad who was going to walk you down the aisle, it would make this day even more better knowing that they finally accepted it.
You sent those invites, you waited for some sort of answer back but nothing, you still had slight hope as you stood now in from to the door that was blocking you from seeing Natasha.
You wanted to cry but you knew you couldn't, you needed to be strong and enjoy this evening, this was an important day for you, you accomplished so much and you were proud of yourself.
If your parents didn't see that then that was their problem even if that made you sad, you sighed as it was the time to walk out, Steve was suppose to walk you out but instead Maria appeared by your side.
You was a little confused but decided to not question it, she was your friend, you hooked your arm with hers and slowly started to walk towards where Natasha stood.
Her eyes never leaving you, you wanted to just walk over to her and kiss her right there and then but you knew better, "Isn't it ironic that you're walking me down to watch me get married?"
She rolled her eyes playfully "You know Y/n, I love you and I want you to be happy, even if that's not with me. Not a single bit of me would rather be there, butt that's how it must be and I can't change that"
Yous stopped at the end, you turned to her and hugged her "Thank you"
You pulled away as you looked into her eyes "Maybe under different circumstances and universe, you would be the one waiting to marry me, but not in this one"
She nodded with a sad smile but there was nothing she could do, she let go of you and finally let you focus on the most important part of this day.
Natasha trusted you, and she learnt to trust Maria too, she knew that the brunette would never try anything without your consent and that's what she valued in Maria.
As you stood in front of the Russian, all she could do is stare at you. nothing else matter, just you in this moment, how each event lead you here with her.
As the ceremony started, you each repeating the words after the priest, he was the first priest to marry the same sex couple and was more than honour to do that.
" do you take as your
"Y/n Y/l/n do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in (holy) matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
You smiled "I do"
"Natalia Alianovna Romanova do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in (holy) matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
Natasha reached her hand to take yours in hers "I do"
He had a smile across his lips "Well then repeat after me"
"I, Natalia Alianovna Romanova, take you Y/n Y/l/n, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part." She repeated after him, not looking away and not even tripping over her words, she was ready to spend the rest of her life with you.
"I, Y/n Y/l/n, take you Natalia Alianovna Romanova, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part." You repeated the same thing, wanting to make it clear to everyone that was here.
As you and Natasha exchanged the rings, it was the moment where he announced yous wife and wife, the best part of this whole ceremony.
"Should anyone present know of any reason that this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace" He loudly stated, making sure that everyone heard.
That's when your parents stormed in "We do! This is wrong"
Your heart stopped, you didn't expect them to show up but to show up like this, ruining your special day. You looked over at them, eyes filled with tears, cursing under breath how your parents could do that.
Natasha already got to work, she cupped your face, pulling your eyes away from them and making you look into hers "Heyyy, Y/n. You're okay, this day is about us"
Steve and Thor already sprang to action, dragging your parents out and kicking them out just like they had done years ago to you, there were whispers around the church.
"Quiet down!" The priest shouted out, causing everyone to shut up and finally pay attention to where it was the most important.
He looked down at you "Are you okay to continue?"
You nodded, trying your best to wipe the tears to not ruin the make up and look worse on your pictures. Natasha gave your hand a reassuring squeeze, reminding you she was here, she was your armour to the bad stuff, she has your back in everything.
"By virtue of the authority vested in me under the laws of the State I now pronounce you wife and wife." He announced with a loud cheer following that.
"You may kiss the brides" He added as he stepped back, letting the spotlight fall only on the two of you.
You let out a nervous chuckle before letting Natasha delicately pull you into a forever sealing kiss, this was it, the moment that made your future more clear than ever.
As yous parted, walking hand in hand down the aisle, just as yous passed the door, Natasha pulled you into another kiss "I can't believe that now you are my wife"
You smiled as your eyes were closed "Your wife, gosh that sounds so perfect coming out of your mouth"
Natasha smirked "I know exactly what will come out of your mouth that will be perfect"
You nodded to agree with her, pulling her into another kiss and walked towards the car that was going to take everyone to the party, letting others say their vows about their brides.
It was fun to watch everyone say some embarrassing things, even if you didn't particularly enjoy the embarrassing parts but yous got through that.
As you danced with Natasha, being held close to each other, you wanted to be the happiest, this was one in the life time to marry that one love of your life.
But your mind was clouded with your parents, as you moved your head so you could look into Natasha's eyes, you spoke with a sad smile "I'm sorry about my parents, I really wanted this day to just be about us but they had to ruin it"
Natasha shook her head with a gentle smile "They didn't ruin it, we are still here, holding each other knowing that we are officially married, wife and wife, we won and they lost, they lost a battle that was never set with a win. We have each other whilst they have no one else to back them up"
"I don't want you to be sorry for them, they are responsible for their actions so they should be the ones to be sorry, they interrupted our time which makes them look bad" Natasha explained as she pulled you even more closer to her.
"детка (baby), I am happy with you here and I could care less what they are doing now, I am happy to be married and imagine our family expanding" Her free hand held your face, still moving her feet to keep up the dancing.
You nodded "You're right, we are stronger together than apart, this was just a little step back to have us end up here in this exact moment."
She nodded with happiness in her eyes "Exactly, now give me a kiss"
You obeyed and leaned in, giving her a kiss that she wanted, even if she tried her best to not make you pull away you knew you had to. Fury walked up to yous as he put his hand on both of your shoulders making yours pull away quickly to look at him.
He smiled widely "I just wanted to congratulate you both for this successful day, I serious wish you both a lot of happiness and health because you both are going to need it if you want to be here with each other."
"I know yous said no presents but I wanted to gift you two this" He handed you an envelope.
"Natasha is my daughter, not by blood but still my daughter and I want for her to have the best life a father would want, so please accept this, it would make me very happy" He squeezed Natasha's shoulder to which she gave him a smile.
You opened the envelope, having a letter inside of a purchase, you had a small frown but as you read the lines, it became clear "You are buying us a house?"
Natasha was just as shocked as you, she didn't expect such an expensive gift to be given, he nodded "I want yous to start a family somewhere, not in the compound or some junky ass apartment"
"We- We can't accept that Nick" You were first to talk but he was quick to shut you down.
"Please do, I don't beg but I am here to do that, take this as a gift of this wonderful day, I want that house to be full of your love" He begged yous.
Natasha smiled at him as she looked over at you "Thank you Nick, as much as this is too expensive, we will take it to make you happy"
She hugged him as she placed a kiss on his cheek "Thank you dad"
You heard her even if she whispered it to his ear, he was a little taken back but tried to stay put together, still he had a tears in his eyes as he parted away from Natasha, excusing himself as he left yous to be.
Just as he walked off, the music changed, making the whole team rush over to the dance floor, your sister being the first to drag you away from Natasha, partying with her to make you forget about anything that could worry you.
So this was your life lesson, taking a risk was everything, you were happy and didn't regret any choices you took along the way to get here.
