There are just not enough words to describe how proud I am of Hippo Campus. This band has been a part of my life since 2015 and I still can’t believe that I, alongside some great friends, were a part of witnessing them headlining at Red Rocks for the first time.

I’ve seen Hippo live before (in 2018 before my birthday) but the experience of seeing one of my favorite bands perform an amazing set at such a beautiful and iconic venue, there’s just no words. This band of friends from Minnesota did that, without radio but with love from their fans💜

(Also, shoutout to Charly Bliss and Gus Dapperton for also putting on a fun set last night as well😌✨)

Another really fun but extremely unexpected thing to happen was that I casually ran into Whistler and Zach from Hippo at the grocery store the night before the show. Thank you both (and also thank you to Demi and Gianna) for your kindness and patience with me😌✨

Last thing: I finally got to hear Poems live. It’s been one of my favorite Hippo songs since it was released in 2017 and hearing it live at such a wonderful place, surrounded by so many people was magical and amazing.

(I guess all of those tweets and telling Whistler and Zach directly to play it actually worked😌)

Overall, I’m so grateful, thankful and blessed from this whole experience. I’m so thankful for Hippo Campus for using the power of music to bring myself and so many others joy and to bring us all together. I got to meet some of my Internet besties because of them and made some amazing memories😌✨

New Newcrest News - Fall 2, Part 2

And now for Part 2 of the New Newcrest News for this beautiful fall!

Engagements & Weddings

After a lengthy courtship due to their young ages, my youngest brother Nathan and his beautiful bride Kayleigh have finally tied the knot at ages 18 and 16 respectively! We love to see such a wonderful example of chastity before marriage in our congregation and wish them every conceivable happiness!

Babies

Two little blessings have arrived in the Payne family! Cecilia (#6) and Nolan (#7) bring up the total to seven, and Jacob and Alyssa are overjoyed to raise them in the Ways of the Watcher.

The Matthews' brood continues to grow at an unprecedented rate! Michael and Martha have added baby Mark (their first singleton) and twins Morgan and Mackenzie to their quiver, and now they have seven children, five of which are still toddlers or younger!

Jobs & Promotions

Jacob Payne has left behind his woodworking shed for bigger and better things and is now helping to get officials who want to spread the Word of the Watcher elected as a Campaign Intern!

Aaron Payne has found employment as a Shelf Stocker at a local supermarket, and the additional income (and the discount on groceries) will help his family out a lot!

Birthdays

My dear brother Nathan is a Young Adult now, and already a provider for his wife Kayleigh! I could not be prouder of him and his handyman skills! Happy Birthday, Nathan!

So many birthdays in the Rogers family! Twins Randolph and Reginald are teens now and will hopefully help their father out providing, and little Ashley, their youngest blessing, is a child! Congratulations!

There's cause for celebration in the Payne family! Not only is Jacob an adult now, his oldest son Aaron is a teen and already helping to provide for his younger siblings! Oldest Payne daughter Joanna loves helping out her mama that she is now a child, her brother Bennet is running wild because he's a child too, now, and little toddlers Cordelia and Cecilia could as well be twins with how close they are and how much they love each other!

The quickly growing Matthews brood is also growing up! Twins Mason and Mitchell are children now and quickly turning into young gentlemen, and twins Melanie and Melissa are adorable toddlers now, along with their younger brother Mark! Happy Birthday!
