Okay, so, the month of July is chock-full of National Holidays and Celebrations that I am only just discovering via a site called "Holiday Insights"! Specifically, I've been looking through the page for July, and have come up with a creative plan:

Why not do what I did for KAIJUNE for these?

Granted, I already missed some days and have little idea of what would make a good plot out of them (maybe a bunch of one-shots?). HOWEVER, I do know that this can help give me structure while I finish off another fic!

SO, it might not start by tomorrow, but I DO know that there are going to be more stories- so sit tight!

What is Memorial Day?

Memorial Day is a holiday in the United States celebrated on the last Monday of May.

It is to honor the dead and their mourning counterparts of those who have died while serving in the United States Military.

This is Arlington National Cemetery, a national cemetery in the United States dedicated to dead soldiers and veterans. It has become a symbol in itself for Memorial Day

There is usually a ceremony that can be viewed on the TV, local parades, and it is traditional to buy a poppy flower to honor the dead.

Taps is played, and a moment of silence is often done at least once in ceremonies/similar to honor the dead.

The fact that we, Arabic-speaking average people(aka non-journalists), have to keep up with translating Palestinian posts from Arabic to English to avoid having Western Media/Pro-Zionists mistranslate on purpose, says enough about how we all lost trust in the media. From the "there's a list" guy who was standing in front of a calendar and condemning the days of the week, to the BBC's mistranslation of a freed Palestinian hostage's interview. I will try my best to keep translating whatever I can find, and I encourage my fellow bilingual/multilingual Arabs to do the same. It's already sad enough that Palestinian journalists and even children have to use English in videos instead of their native tongue in order to get the world leaders' attention.

Happy National Pancake Day!
