⋆꙳✧༄ Baking a cake with them
Tumblr media
❖ Characters: various mha characters
❖ Reader: genderneutral
❖ Summary: just a little fun in the kitchen, baking a cake
❖ A/n: don’t want to miss a post? Sign up for my Taglist in my Navi!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Has an oddly specific request of what cake they want but can't bake to save their life so that's why they invite you. You're so aware of the fact that they can't bake and tease them about it. They stand in the kitchen with the spatula in hand and a grin, calling it “helping you”. At least they keep out of your feet.
꒰ ͜͡➸ Toshinori Yagi (All Might), Eijiro Kirishima, Mina Ashido, Tenya Iida, Dabi (reminds him of his childhood), Rumi Usagiyama (Mirko), Kyōka Jirō, Ochaco Uraraka
Tumblr media
Hyperactive little creatures. SO stoked you bake a cake with them? They will most likely drop everything they get into their hands but apologize profoundly while cleaning up. You guys really need to get new eggs because they dropped the whole package </3 But they just really wanna help! The cake also looks like a mess but it tastes heavenly.
꒰ ͜͡➸ Izuku Midoriya, Keigo Takami (Hawks), Denki Kaminari, Himiko Toga, Nejire Hado, Mirio Togata, Tamaki Amajiki (nervous wreck), Jin Bubaigawara (Twice)
Tumblr media
Doesn't wanna bake a cake but you lured them into the kitchen and kinda locked them in there with you. They will just sit on the counter and hand you the ingredients, pouting a whole lot. Please hand them the bowl with the dough once you're done - they're really just there to eat dough and later the cake, no interest in the making process.
꒰ ͜͡➸ Natsuo Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo, Hanta Sero, Nemuri Kayama (Midnight), Minoru Mineta, Shota Aizawa, Tomura Shigaraki, Enji Todoroki, Kai Chisaki, Shoto Todoroki
Tumblr media
They were the one to actually come up to you first, almost begging you to help them and who are you to say no? They made most of the cake, which was a super fancy multi layer one by the way. You really tried helping decorate it but it looked ridiculous next to their absolute perfection so you opted for watching and eating.
꒰ ͜͡➸ Rikido Sato, Hizashi Yamada (Present Mic), Hitoshi Shinsou, Momo Yaoyorozu, Fumikage Tokoyami, Fuyumi Todoroki, Taishiro Toyomitsu (Fat Gum)

natsuo todoroki crushing on a friend from college
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: natsuo todoroki x gn!reader
tags: fluff, study dates, friends to lovers
Tumblr media
natsuo and you had mutual friends and a ton of classes the two of you shared. that's how you initially caught his eye!
natsuo always admired you from afar, hesitant to approach you, until a friend of his finally introduced him to you!
during a study group in a cafe, the two of you got the chance to get to know each other and spend some time together, which only validated natsuo's crush on you
you were as kind and smart as he always imagined, helping him whenever he struggled with something and always keeping a smile on your lips, no matter how dense he was
by the end of the study group, the two of you exchanged numbers and the next study date was already being discussed!
only that this time, natsuo invited you to his place to study, cooking for the two of you, in hopes that he could impress you a little that way!
though that study date wasn't the last one, as it slowly became a habit that the two of you would meet up for dinner and a study session and natsuo's place
with how much time natsuo began to spend studying with you, his grades began to get so good that he didn't even need your help anymore
though that didn't stop him from inviting you over to study anyways! though he knew that eventually, he'd need to come up with a new reason to see you
perhaps during the upcoming break, he could ask you out on a proper date…

A continuation of this one:
“What if Dabi has a son tho, would be quite the angst filled relationship lol”
What if the todofam learn about the kid? Like they connect the obvious dots (lil guy literally is the spitting image of Touya as a kid/infant) lmao
Tumblr media
i'm just going to make it so that touya, in whatever that happened, starts living with his parents again ;v;
endeavor:
he'll probably be shocked, guilty, and happy all at once. not to say that he's expecting you to warm up to him right away because he isn't sure if you know what he did to your dad, or if you know that your shared lifestyle with your dad is the result of his emotional constipation and lack of communication skills. however, considering how young you are, and the fact dabi wants to keep you out of the dark picture as much as possible, you didn't even know this big, flaming ball of... well, fire... was your grandpa. it's a little awkward the first while you see him knowing he's your grandpa, but you warm up to the idea of it. and gradually, much to dabi's displeasure but relief, the two of you get along pretty well. endeavor let's you do something he never let his kids do, which was using him as a jungle jim. it's mostly because you have experience climbing all over dabi, but endeavor never let his kids do it because he was worried they were going to fall and get hurt with how tall he is. might give advice on how to train your quirk, but won't actively help you work it out because he's scared he'll hurt you the way he did touya. generally refrains from talking about your quirk, but he's happy to talk about anything else! he'll even tell you exciting stories from his hero career!
rei:
again, shocked, guilty, but oddly giddy. it's a little expected, since you're her first grandbaby, and she wants to cherish you as much as possible because she feels that she didn't do that enough when her kids were younger. granted, they're still willing to spend time with her any time of the week, but with their own lives and careers going on, it's hard to make the right time. so, rei goes about her grandmotherly business and babies you as much as she can. might come off a little overbearing off the bat since you're not used to the concept of having other people to rely on other than your dad, but you do warm up to her quicker than you did endeavor (lol). makes you cool little figures and temporary toys with her quirk when you ask her oh-so politely. becomes one of those people who can't say no to you when you hug her leg and look at her with the same eyes as touya. rei has definitely called you touya on accident a few times with how much the two of you look alike, even when the grown man is sitting right in front her on the couch or something.
fuyumi:
shocked, confused, but wildly excited to be an auntie. given her position as a teacher, i imagine her to be pretty good with kids and likes kids a lot. would totally give you lessons on how to read and write, do basic math, and all that stuff you couldn't learn because you didn't have access to the time nor material to learn them. but no worries! auntie fuyumi got your back! loves spending time with you off the bat, but was so so sad and devasted when you kept running away from her and hid behind your dad's legs back when you weren't used to being around your other family members. hates the smug smirk on touya's face whenever he has you hiding behind him, but she's glad he wasn't as alone as she worried he was. probably the first person you got fully accustomed to after touya started living with his parents again
natsuo:
he's pretty hyped to be an uncle, yes, but he's so terrified. he knows little to nothing about little kids despite having shoto as a little brother, but the two of them didn't really share much time together when they were younger, so it doesn't really count. therefore, his terror and nerves are understandable. touya 100% taunts him to pick you up or pat you on the head whenever you chalk up the courage to go and say hi to your uncle, but he's really stiff when doing so. genuinely, i think he'll be more scared of you rather than the other way around. and touya laughs and cackles at the way you're so confused when natsuo actively books it out of the room you're in when he realizes you're there. well, he laughs until you start crying because you start thinking you did something that made natsuo dislike you. but that's only for one or two months. after that, natsuo is used to your presence and has you on his shoulders, his hip, carrying you like a weight, occasionally benchpresses you when you're sleeping.
shoto:
mostly confused, but he's got the spirit. i feel like once touya starts going through therapy and stuff, he's pretty much on good terms with shoto since shoto really didn't do shit to him as an infant... he was just existing. shoto might also be the first one out of the family that touya wants you to get used to because he thought the two of you might get along better with a smaller age gap. he's not wrong, but boy, was it awkward the first while. there was just long moments of silence because you're not very good at talking, shoto isn't the most talkative or child-liking person in the world, and touya just wants the two of you to actively like each other. it isn't until touya has a therapy session, and shoto ends up looking after you for the day that the two of you build some trust in each other. basically what happened was some kids were bullying you for the same white patches of hair you have like touya did as a kid, and while shoto wasn't looking because he was getting you ice cream to make you feel better, one of the kids pushed you into the sandbox. you got sand in your eyes, hair, mouth, and basically all over. so you start crying because you're clueless and hurt about what happened, and involuntarily activate your quirk. and little blue sparks start flying every where and suddenly the kids are calling you a villain for... crying and not being able to control your quirk at age 6. no worries, though! uncle shoto was there to save the day with ice cream and a death glare to the group of bullies, hold you tight and hightail it all the way back home with your ice cream. prefers to keep you away from public areas until your hair isn't patchy, but if you want to go to the backyard garden, he won't stop you.

it’s been a while since Fuyumi has adopted you. She was always busy with work and other things you did not need to know but she still made room for you, but half of the time it’s either your uncle Natsuo, Shoto or your grandpa babysitting you. Usually ends up with Natsuo. You’ve visited your grandma at the hospital one too many times and you wonder why she’s there, she isn’t hurt or anything right?
Tumblr media
You were currently in school playing with your friends until your teacher made an announcement “ok everyone! Y/n will be leaving early today so say your goodbyes!” The teacher beamed, all that was heard were ‘awes’ and ‘bummer’ and ‘lucky…’ eventually everyone got over their little tantrums and said their goodbyes. You were guided towards the office as Fuyumi came in sight, you ran towards her wrapping your arms around her torso with your head buried in her stomach and you felt soft hands touch your head as you looked up making eye contact with Fuyumi “Hi mom! How was work?” You say excitedly. She smiled at you as she ruffled your hair “Y/n, sweetie! Can you give me a few minutes?” “Ok!”
Tumblr media
Time passed by and Fuyumi was done talking with the staff. Both of you got in the car as you questioned“Mom, why did you pick me up from school early?” Fuyumi smiled at you again. “Well~ I though maybe me and my cute precious daughter can have a day out with just the two of us!” There were stars in your eyes showing you were indeed excited but you also got embarrassed at her statement of ‘my cute precious daughter’ “mom!!!” Fuyumi giggled as it seemed time passed by so fast that you two were already at your destination. Fuyumi and you got out of the car and we’re walking towards the play ground.
“Ahah! Mom come play with me!” You tugged at Fuyumi’s shirt wanting her to go down the slide with you. “Ok! Ok!” The both of you giggled as you were placed onto her lap, you put your arms in the up as you and Fuyumi slid down “WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Let’s go again!”
Tumblr media
Now both of you were getting ice cream.
“Y/n which one do you want?” Fuyumi said pointing to a bunch of popsicle flavours displayed onto the ice cream truck. “I want chocolate!” “One chocolate ice cream with sprinkles please!” You beam at the fact that she remembers you like ice cream with sprinkles “alright one chocolate ice cream coming right up! Anything for you ma’am?” You proceed to chant the word ‘chocolate’ as the other two speak. “Ah! Yes I would like vanilla if it’s not a bother!” “One vanilla ice cream coming right up!” Fuyumi paid for the ice creams and you guys went for a short walk.
“This is the best day every!!!” You laughed and Fuyumi joined in the laughing with you. “Be careful with your ice cream! It’s melting!” Fuyumi said as she wiped your mouth with a tissue as you just smiled towards her.
Tumblr media
Both of you were finally back home as you were being carried in Fuyumi’s arms “mom?” Fuyumi hummed in response. “Can we ever go out like this again someday?” You say getting sleepy by the time Fuyumi responded you were fast asleep. She giggled and kissed your forehead “of course.”

Who asked: If it's OK, can you make a Shoto x Reader story of us meeting his family for the first time?
---------------------
POV: Third Person
Characters: Shoto Todoroki, black!fem!reader, Natsuo Todoroki, Fuyumi Todoroki
Pairing: Shoto Todoroki x black!fem!reader
Word Count: 260
-----------------------------
The usually quiet and tense yet calm atmosphere of the todoroki household was filled with the warm laughter of three people.
Natsuo's laughter was the loudest out of everyone.
"It's not that funny, Natsuo." Came the normal deadpan reply from Shoto, but those who knew him well could hear the embarrassment that was in his voice.
And the three people he was currently with, most definitely knew him well.
"You have to admit, Shoto." Y/N's own laughter had finally died down enough where she could speak. "It is a little funny."
Y/N had just recounted how exactly she and Shoto had met.
It hadn't been one of his finer moments.
Shoto's lips twitched up into a rare smile.
"Ah, there's a smile!" Y/N was grinning, her expression was full of warmth and joy, something that was easily reflected in her eyes. Shoto couldn't look away, even if he wanted to.
And Y/N was obviously the same, as her grin had now transformed into a loving smile.
Click!
The undeniable sound of a photo being taken was what broke the young couple's concentration of each other, and their gazes landed on Fuyumi.
"You two are so cute!" She cooed. "I can't wait to show mom during our next visit!"
"Fuyumi no."
"Fuyumi yes!"

Morning with Natsuo
Tumblr media
There aren’t enough Natsuo fics so I decided to start making my own!!
Contents: SFW! Snuggling and sleeping in with your boyfriend Natsuo :>  Reader is hinted at being shorter than Natsuo (Less than 5 '11 / 181cm) I use Reina in this so I recommend using a name changer for your browser. (I use  “Deadname Remover” which you can find on chrome web store)
You squinted and yawned as you woke up to the sunlight poking through the curtains and shining in your eyes. You could hear Natsuo shuffling around behind you underneath the bed sheets as you lay tucked into the covers to avoid the blinding light of the morning sun. Peeking over your shoulder to glance at your boyfriend behind you, you watched how his body moved as he breathed.
“Mph… ‘can feel you watching me Y/N,”
Your eyes widen when Natsuo speaks. You had known he was awake but you had always failed to remember how he can practically sense when your eyes are on his body. He turns over to face you and you gaze into his steel grey eyes.
“G’morning Natsu~” You whisper as you run a hand through his silky white hair that he had washed the night before. He groans softly and inches closer to you to press a messy wet kiss to your forehead while gently running his hands down your sides, pulling you closer to him and rubbing your hips. You’re practically smushed into his chest as he buries his face into the top of your head and proceeds to press kisses into your scalp.
Sitting up to get a better look at your boyfriend you smile to yourself at how lucky you are. Somehow you were blessed with the gift of meeting this perfect boy and somehow he’s all yours.
“What’re you smiling about?” He giggles, sitting up with you and pressing a kiss into the corner of your mouth.
“Nothing. Just thinking about how much I love you,” You hum, narrowing your eyes and holding the sides of his head to give him a real kiss. You both drape your legs over each other and squeeze each other tightly wishing you could stay in bed and cradle each other for longer, but eventually the two of you decide it’s finally time to get up and begin your day.

Ingredients: Shoto Todoroki x fem!reader
Contains: hurt/comfort, angst to fluff, pregnancy, no read on, Todoroki went missing, a really bad hospitalxizuku pun
Words: 3188
A/n: Well I actualy wanted to upload this earlier, but my tablet tumblr app said no. But now I am home and can finally upload it :)
Tumblr media
The door of the pub opened with an inviting chime and the atmosphere almost made you feel at home. Brown wood lined the room and comfortable warm light made the pub look like a winter hut in the wilderness, even though the pub was in the middle of Musutafu. Saturday Night was the usual hero night, all heroes would get drinks for half of the price, so there is no wonder all heroes would gather here to celebrate the weekend. Crime never sleeps, but the heroes here just wanted to commemorate. "Over here, Y/n." shouted the deep voice of Natsuo Todoroki. He waved like a madman so you could see him in the crowd, even though his white hair and his height made him already really visible. You waved back at him. The little room was filled with chatter as if no one in there was fighting for their lives to protect the country. You sometimes wondered how they could always be so cheery and kind. Never in your whole life had you imagined becoming a hero. That's why sticking to your "normal" job was just as right. "Hey guys." you greeted them shyly. "We missed you. How have you been? It must have been a handful, planning the Christmas get-together and also caring for your grandmother."Natsuo's wife Akemi greeted you. "It's alright. We could finally manage to develop a good care system for her. She is doing great now, and she finally eats and drinks enough." You remember your grandmother finally being able to return to her home. "It was hard for her after grandpa died, but now she is doing better. We could finally let her live on her own." Akemi clapped in her hands and cheered. "That is lovely. Where is Shoto by the way?" "Kachan, Ochako and he got sent on a mission on I-Island. Some villains stole the security terminal and they needed to keep the people safe until the system was repaired," explained Izuku, who hasn't spoken a word to you until now.  "How have your holidays been?" you asked the green-haired hero. "It was wonderful. Ochako always wanted to go to Hawaii. Since it was a surprise, she cried as we landed in Hawaii." He illustrated with a huge grin. You returned his smile. "She must have told everyone by now, don't you think? The holiday has done her well." "Yeah, so well she is throwing herself into danger again, but she is still a hero at heart so I can't complain," Izuku mumbled and shook his head. Natsuo laughed. "You're a hero too, Deku. A sometimes reckless one I have to say." "And? I am perfectly capable of keeping myself safe." Now Natsuo had to laugh so hard he almost cried. His head was red by now. "Shoto told me if you hadn't married Ochako you would have married a hospital bed." By now no one could stop laughing and even Izuku had to laugh out loud. After everyone calmed down Akemi asked you a question."Do you know when Shoto comes home? It's almost Christmas and since we could finally manage Rei coming home and Endeavour moving out, we wanted to celebrate a huge Christmas party together." "He should be home by tomorrow morning. He said they are leaving tonight. Even if he had to stay there he would come home just for Rei." you smiled. "When are you going to celebrate on Christmas eve or the day after?" "On Christmas Eve, but when he comes home later we will wait for him of course," stated Natsuo as he hugged his wife. There was a comfortable silence until Izuku noticed something in shock. "Oh no, I am so so sorry." Izuku started to bow frantically and everyone wondered what was up. "Izuku stop it. What is the problem?" you said with panic lingering in your voice. "I forgot to ask you what you want to drink."  "You don't need to worry.Everything is alright. I will just take some water." Izuku stopped bowing and apologized for it and went off to get some water for you. "Have you already bought Christmas gifts? We only have three days left and slowly I am getting stressed.
Shoto said he just wanted to spend some time with his family. We can arrange that right?" you started a conversation again. "Of course. Mom would be over the moon if he visited us more. We only got him a pair of new ties since he only got one or so." Natsuo chuckled.
You talked for hours and since the others drank alcohol, which aided in keeping the conversation going. But the conversation soon came to an end when Natsuo's phone started to ring. "It's Fuyumi," he said and turned away from your group. Akemi and Izuku continued talking, but something inside you told you something happened. You watched the expression on Natsuo's face change from cheery and bright to worried and nervous. He shortly ended the call and almost sprinted back to you. The knot inside of your stomach twisted. "We need to come home. Fuyumi said the jet of the heroes crashed. Shoto is still missing. The heroes went already searching for him." You didn't know how to feel or what to think. Blood started orbiting inside of your ears, it was so loud you couldn't hear the talking of the other guests, neither the clinking of the glass nor the bombardment of questions from Akemi. Your body was frozen and all you wanted was to cry. You experienced a chill as though a bucket of ice had been dumped over your head. Your mind replayed every horrible scenario imaginably. The image of Akemi, who was attempting to calm you down, was hazy. She talked with the other two and Natsuo carried you out of the pub.
Everyone was probably sober after the horrific news. He was the son of the former number one hero and since Dabis revealed everyone knew about him and his family, maybe some crazy villain captured him to gain the attention of the nowadays number one hero. Akemi held your hand the whole ride, but you couldn't feel the touch. Everything felt so surreal. The panic attack was coming closer and closer. Your stomach felt twisted and you started gagging. "Hold the car," screamed Akemi, it almost sounded like you were underwater.  Natsuo parked erratically. Automatically you opened the door and puked on the parking lot. Your eyes were filled with tears, and you were already trembling. You've already lost control of your head as well as your body. Akemi closed the door and Natsuo continued driving.  "It's all right. Shoto is going to be saved. He most likely went off to find the villain who attacked the plane. He'll be fine; you know him; he goes to great lengths to save people. Perhaps he is saving a child or a cat." Akemi hugged you tightly, but nothing helped. You were still trapped inside your mind. Your body is trembling, and breathing is difficult. The whole drive to the Todoroki Abode was a blur. Your vision was clouded by tears and worry. The ringing in your ears continued. "We are there," whispered Akemi in your ear. The car came to an abrupt stop with a loud screech, and everyone got out except for you. Natsuo carried you inside after opening the door next to you.
The entrance was dark, and it appeared that Rei was not present, but she quickly ran towards you after you entered. "There you are." she almost shouted. "Have you heard anything recently? Nothing has been reported in the news." her voice was shaking, but her complexion was unreadable. Natsuo set you back on the ground as Izuku got rid of your shoes. Your knees were weak, and you were proud of yourself for being able to stand on your own. Rei immediately hugged you and helped you into the living room. "How long has she been like this?" she whispered as if she was afraid that you could hear her. "Since Fuyumi called. Where is Fuyumi ?" Natsuo asked and looked around. "She is in the kitchen. Stress baking like always."
"Oh damn no no no…." As if Fuyumi was summoned, her desperate screams echoed in the huge house. You sat on the ground staring into the black screen of the TV. "He is not dead is he?" you whispered still in shock and as if a switch got turned everyone went quiet. Even Fuyumi stopped her baking and went back into the living room. "Of course not, he will come home. Safe and sound my dear." guaranteed Rei. "I will call him and the other heroes, maybe someone knows something," said Izuku, weirdly calm. "Maybe we should watch the news to keep track of things," suggested Akemi. Fuyumi put it on the news channel in mere seconds. Meanwhile, Rei hugged you tightly and mumbled comforting words to you, even though you weren't sure if they were for you or herself. But to be honest, you couldn't care less, everyone was on edge and anxious. You as his wife should be able to know that he will be safe, he always was, but something today didn't feel right. You were used to him being gone for days, weeks, or even months saving people, but the prospect of him being kidnapped by villains out to harm him made your anxious brain go crazy.
"The heroes of the safety mission on I-Island should be coming home today, but since a villain attacked the Embraer Legacy 600. Because of this, the plane crashed into the woodlands of Aokigahara. Luckily almost every hero on board survived. Gravity, Dynamight, and Scanner. Sad news occurred shortly after the crash. Shoto Todoroki, the son of the former number 1 hero, is not to be found. The search party is on their way, but nobody has seen him for 5 hours. We hope for the best and update you after the advertisement." The lady in the news pronounced every word with such boredom you wanted to rip her throat out.  "Washing machines live longer with Calgon…" the jingle of the ad was already far away from your mind to notice. "I can't reach anyone. No one is answering," said Izuku frantically and tried to dial the number of Uraraka again. "Of course, no one is answering they are searching. Let them search for him." Rei's posture was tense, and you could see her trembling even though she was acting. Tears were now running down your cheeks. "Will he make it?" you asked anxiously. Your trembling got worse and you couldn't sit still for the love of God. Fuyumi laid a blanket over your shivering body, but it couldn't ease the anxiety and worry inside of your chest. The ads were over and the news lady continued her talk. "Shoto Todoroki is known for his volunteering at multiple honorary posts. He raised more than 14 billion yen for charity with his wife Y/N Todoroki…." the talking of mundane facts calmed you down. "Here have some tea Y/n." Fuyumi put down a cup in front of you, but you were only focused on the Tv. "Could someone please turn off this nonsense? These strange facts are well-known to us all. Why are they talking about him like that, he's not even dead for fucks sake!" exclaimed Natsuo. You flinched a bit. Fuyumi grabbed the control but Rei stopped her. ". Simply turn down the volume. It makes her feel a bit better." She still hugged you. Tears were still running down your cheeks, but you still felt like you were swimming inside an ice bucket. You put your head on your knees and rocked back and forth. "They will find him soon," said Akemi loudly, so everyone would believe her. Meanwhile, images of the work on I-Island were displayed. Shoto looked into the camera while holding a small child over his head, who was brightly smiling. Your eyes were filling up with more tears. He was so kind to everyone.
Natsuo moved back and forth in the background, almost walking through the Tatami mat, Izuku still tried to call some heroes to get some updates and Akemi helped Fuyumi to clean the kitchen. Everyone was tense and on edge. "He can't possibly be dead. We needed more time; we didn't have any." you cried desperately. "He is not dead and you will have plenty of time when he returns. You will see, everything will be alright." Rei hugged you even tighter, but also spoke calmly. "I am so happy that Shoto found true love. He deserved the world since his father failed at that, but you made that possible. Since he met you he has been so much happier. Thank you, honey. He stopped being so cold and smiled more often. I am sure he is safe and sound." insured Rei. Never in your life had you felt so much anxiety, not even when he was fighting the high-end Nomu in Hosu. Your tears dried on your cheeks and there was nothing left inside of you but despair. "We can only wait. Ochako said there is still no trace of him," said Izuku, worry written all over his face.  Everyone was just so focused on the news that nobody noticed the opening of the front door.
It was Izuku who first noticed it. He activated his Quirk and walked slowly into the hallway. "There is an intruder," he whispered. Everyone stopped moving. Natsuo got his wife behind his back and balled his hands into fists as if he was ready to fight some professional villain with his bare hands. Slowly approaching footsteps resonated against the hallway wall. Rei's anxiety only increased. She was on edge by now you could tell. With every step, the culprit made your anxiety thrive. The atmosphere in the room was tense. Shoto entered the room through the shoji sliding door, filthy and battered. His jacket in hand and some dirt stains on his face and shirt.  He has dried blood on his temple, but he is still alive. Everyone got up and greeted him immediately. The tension instantly disappeared. Your eyes widened in disbelief. He truly is alive. You couldn't move an inch, everything inside of you screamed and wanted to jump onto him, scream at him for making you worried sick or just finally kiss him again. "Welcome back bro." greeted Natsuo nonchalantly as if he hadn't just walked a hole into the floor. "We were worried sick. What happened ?" asked Fuyumi as she hugged him tightly. "You gave us a good scare." Izuku patted him on his back. "what are you all doing here ?" Shoto asked confused. Your eyes were still glued onto him. "Hey why haven't you called ?" asked Rei as she finally got up and hugged him. "My phone died" he mumbled overwhelmed.  His eyes finally focused on your shocked ones. "I will tell you everything later, but now I need to see my wife." Rei smiled understandingly and let him go. He moved closer to you with short, wide steps. He gently picked you up and placed you on the ground, as if you were made of glass. "Have you missed my darling?" he asked raspily. You were only able to nod. Tears were now spilling out of your eyes and you clung desperately to his dirty shirt. You wailed like a baby but you didn't care, he was finally back. He gently stroked your back while holding you in his arms. "I am here now. Everything is alright," he whispered, so only you were able to hear his words. You continued crying and it took a while until you calmed down. "I…I…I thought you were dead." you mumbled against his torso. Shoto took your face in his hands and stared deeply into your eyes. "Love." he paused and smiled gently. "I am alive, I am well and nothing happened to me. I could flee before they got me. I am a hero anyway." his grin grew sly and you almost needed to chuckle. Of course, he would be safe, he always was. "I was just so afraid I couldn't breathe. Don't you ever dare to do something like that again or I will kill you." you began to sob once again. "You will never lose me. Ever." He kissed you deeply. Your hands are buried inside his locks. The both of you parted to take a breath and kissed again.
"An attack caused the plane to crash. With the help of my ice, I could protect myself. As a result, I became separated from the others and ended up in the area where the villains were hiding. I was able to capture them all and attempted to locate the others, but no one was near the jet, so I assumed they had been rescued. I started walking back home." he told you about his 'trip'. Like nothing big just happened he slurped his soba noodles. "Everyone was searching for you. Dumb of them to leave the plane." Izuku complained. "I am happy that you are back buddy, but I have to go now. Ochako must be home by now." Izuku got up and bowed deeply. "Thank you for the Food Fuyumi." "You're welcome." she smiled and waved him goodbye. Everyone saw him off and the chatter continued. After everyone had eaten up, the group dissolved.
As both of you finally lay down in bed, bundled up you, remembered your gift for Christmas. The clock stroke midnight and you got up. "Where are you going, love?" he asked, surprised. A bright smile spread across your face. "I know it's not Christmas yet, but I got you a present." You got the little box from the shell. A tiny bit of anxiety flooded your mind. You talked about this topic and he would never leave you. "Open it." you stretched out your arms and he took the package from your hands. Suspicion lingered in his eyes. He slowly opened the box and revealed the small blue shoes. "What's up with these small shoes?" he asked confused. "I am pregnant Shoto. The blue shoes represent the sex of our baby. It's a boy." you cheered. His eyes widened and he looked back and forth between the shoes and you. "We are getting a son." You nodded wildly. Todoroki got up and hugged you tightly. He swirled you around. "I am so happy. Thank you so much." he smiled brightly and kissed you deeply.

Summary: Natsuo is your childhood best friend and long-time crush. But you've never taken the chance to tell him how you feel. What happens when the chance is almost taken from you entirely?
Tumblr media
“Hey, Y/n! Are you free tonight?” Fuyumi’s voice chirps through the static of the phone.
“Uhh, yeah. I don’t have any plans,” You reply. “What’s up?”
“Weeell,” Fuyumi drags, and you can tell she’s excited about whatever is going on. “I invited Shoto and his friends over for dinner as well as dad. Natsuo is coming over too! I thought I’d invite you since, y’know, you’re basically family. It felt wrong not to!” You chuckle at Fuyumi’s enthusiasm.
“Haha, yeah sure, I’d love to. But…” You hesitate. “Is it really a good idea to try and have dinner with Natsu and your dad? You said it didn’t go well last time…” You wilt off, the image of a teary-eyed Fuyumi as she described the disastrous dinner to you entering your mind.
“Ahh, yeah,” she mutters. “But, I’m hoping that having you and some other guests might make it less tense?” She says, though it sounds more like a question that a statement.
“I think you underestimate how much it’ll take to make things ‘less tense’.” You chuckle, shaking your head.
“Oh, come on! Natsu’s always a lot calmer when you’re around, maybe it’ll help!” You sigh softly at the sound of desperation in Fuyumi’s voice. Ever since you were kids, all Fuyumi wanted was a “normal” family. She would talk to you about it all the time. So would Natsuo, especially after Toya’s death. All they wanted was a loving family, but instead, they were left with a broken home. And Fuyumi was doing all she could to try and fix it.
“I’ll be there,” you affirm. Fuyumi squeals on the other end and you can picture the bright smile spread across her face.
“Awesome! Be here around 6, ‘kay?” She says. You both say your goodbyes and hang up. You grunt as you throw yourself back onto your bed, face buried in your pillows. Although you know it’ll be an awkward night, you’re still looking forward to seeing your childhood friends, especially Natsuo. With your busy school schedules, you hardly see each other anymore, despite being on the same college campus. You smile giddily, butterflies fluttering around in your stomach and chest at the thought of getting to sit down and eat with him.
Having Enji and Natsuo in the same room will be hard, but maybe dinner won’t be so bad.
Right?
Tumblr media
“Y/nnn!” Fuyumi exclaims as she throws her arms around you, squeezing tightly.
“Haha, hey Fuyumi!” You laugh, hugging her back. “Ugh, I’ve missed you so much!”
“I’ve missed you too!” Fuyumi grins, eyes scrunching from her bright smile. You pull apart and Fuyumi steps aside to let you in. You place a hand on her shoulder, using her for balance as you remove your shoes. “I’m so glad you could make it! Natsu’s already in the dining room if you want to join him. I’m almost done with food and the others should be here soon.”
“Okay!” You reply, placing your pair of shoes next to the others. You part ways, Fuyumi heading back to the kitchen and you to the dining room. You grip the handle to the shoji door and slide it open gently. Natsuo looks up from his phone at the sound of soft wood scraping wood, eye’s lighting up when he sees you in the doorway.
“Y/n!” He says, happy to see you. You slide the door closed before skittering over to him, falling to your knees and wrapping your arms around his neck. He wraps his arms around your torso, face digging into the side of your neck. You both breathe in deeply and melt into each other, tense muscles relaxing at each other’s touch.
“I haven’t seen you in forever,” You say, words muffled by your arms.
“You saw me last week,” Natsuo chuckles.
“I know. But it feels like forever!” You unwrap yourself from him to look him in the eyes only to look away immediately, blushing at the proximity. You push off him lightly, scooting yourself back to sit in your own seat. “I’ve just really missed you,” you say delicately, a slight blush still dusted across your cheeks. Natsuo looks at you with a sheepish smile.
“I’ve really missed you too.” A silence falls between you for a moment and you squeeze the hem of your shirt nervously.
“So, I was a little surprised when Fuyumi told me you agreed to coming over,” you faltered. Natsuo tenses and looks away from you, gaze focusing on the wooden grain of the table. “I know it’s hard for you, but it really does mean a lot to her.” you place your hand on his, grasping it gently. “Just- please… try to be civil. For her?” There’s a long pause, and you can tell he’s battling to find the words.
“I told Fuyumi I’d come for dinner… I’m not making promises to stay any longer than I have to,” he muttered, still avoiding your eyes. You sigh softly.
“Okay,” you conceded, not wanting to press the matter any further. “Thank you for still making the effort to come though.” The grimace on Natsuo’s face softens, and he nods. You turn at the sound of the door sliding open and are met with five faces, two of which were unfamiliar. You feel Natsu’s hand stiffen beneath yours and you give him an encouraging squeeze before letting go.
“They’re here!” Fuyumi walks in, the others following closely behind. Everyone shuffles around the table to take a seat, the awkward tension in the air already thick. With everyone placed, Fuyumi sits up on her knees.
“Let’s do introductions again,” she began. “I’m Shoto’s older sister, Fuyumi. I teach at an elementary school nearby.” She turns to you and Natsuo sitting beside her. “This is Natsuo, Shoto’s older brother. He’s currently in college.” Natsuo scratches the back of his neck and gives a short greeting. “And this is Y/n,” Fuyumi continues. “She’s just a family friend, but she’s so close we might as well be related. She goes to the same college as Natsu.” You give a shy little wave to the two strangers.
“Shoto, this is where you introduce your friends,” Fuyumi prompts, looking over to her youngest brother.
“Oh, right,” Shoto says. He introduces his two classmates, Midoriya and Bakugo.
“It’s nice to meet you!” Midoriya says enthusiastically, though a little nervously. Bakugo scowls at him. He clearly doesn’t want to be here. You catch the way Midoriya’s smile drops slightly and you know he’s noticed the tension between Natsuo and Enji. Fuyumi clears her throat.
“Let’s eat before the food gets cold! If there’s anything you don’t want, don’t feel obligated to eat it! I won’t feel bad,” she says. Everyone gives her their thanks before filling their bowls. As you all eat, Midoriya gives his praise to Fuyumi’s food, impressed by how good it is.
“I’m not surprised,” Natsu says. “Fuyumi’s been cooking for a long while since our housekeeper had a back injury.”
“You would cook too, Natsu,” Fuyumi injected. “We would take turns.” Shoto seems surprised by this and turns to his brother.
“Does that mean I ate your food growing up?” Shoto asks. Natsuo’s face twists.
“It’s possible, I can go overboard with seasoning though,” he answers. “Endeavor might have kept you from having it. He always did keep an eye on your diet.” He states, giving the man at the end of the table a glare. You hear Midoriya and Bakugo choke on their food.
“I supposed there is truth to that,” Enji acknowledged. Natsuo looks away with a frown. You drop a hand under the table and place it on Natsu’s knee, silently reminding him of your earlier conversation. Try to be civil. For her. Natsuo inhales deeply, returning to his food to finish the little bit left in his bowl.
“SO!” Fuyumi jumps, trying to recover from the passive aggressive interruption. “Shoto, what kind of food do they serve at the school?” She inquires. Fuyumi’s topic change only lasts long enough for Shoto to answer before Enji speaks again.
“Natsuo,” he says, turning to the white-haired man. “I’d like to try your cooking next time.” You look to Enji with slight surprise. You feel Natsuo take your hand, removing it from his leg before placing his bowl on the table with a clank. He stands up.
“Thanks for the meal sis,” he says, ignoring his father’s words. “I came like I said I would, but now I’m done.” He walks towards the door to leave.
“Wait, Natsuo!” Fuyumi pleads. Midoriya and Bakugo grunt in shock again.
“Wait a second!” You say, standing up yourself.
“I’m sorry, I just can’t do this,” he mutters before sliding the door closed behind him. An uncomfortable silence fills the room. You look down to Fuyumi whose eyes are welling with tears. You sit back down next to her, placing a hand on her shoulder as she quickly wipes at her face.
“Uhh, I’ll go ahead and start cleaning up now. Please, finish eating,” Fuyumi says, her happy tone covering up the pain twisting at her heart. She stands and starts picking up empty plates and dishes. You follow her lead, picking up whatever was unneeded. You follow Fuyumi to the kitchen, placing the dirty dining ware in the sink. You hear a sniffle and turn to see Fuyumi crying softly into her hands.
“I- I just want… I just want us to get along,” she cries. You walk over to her and wrap your arms around her, hugging her tightly.
“I know…” You whisper. Shoto walks in with more dishes, stopping short when he sees his sister crying.
“Is everything okay?” He asks concerned. Fuyumi quickly pulls away from you, sniffling more intensely and rubbing her eyes. She turns to her little brother with a smile on her face.
“Yeah!” She exclaims in her usual cheerful voice. Shoto walks to the sink, placing his dishes down.
“Everyone is done eating,” he says quietly.
“Thanks, Shoto,” you say kindly. The boy nods and walks back out of the room. Once Fuyumi has composed herself, the two of you walk back to the dining room to help finish cleaning up. Fuyumi insists that Midoriya and Bakugo not help, but they’re also adamant to lend a hand. When there’s only a little bit of clean up left to do, you catch Fuyumi, telling her you’re going to head out and try to catch Natsuo. She nods in understanding before giving you another tight hug.
“Thank you for coming,” Fuyumi wavers. You squeeze her even tighter.
“Of course,” You smile. “You’re my family too, you know.” Fuyumi chuckles at this.
“The sister I never had,” she says. You both laugh light heartedly before saying your goodbyes. You walk back to the dining room to give Shoto a hug and say goodbye to his friends as well. You walk quickly to the front of the home and throw on your shoes and jacket, hoping to be able to catch up to Natsuo. But you’re surprised when you open the front door and see the man standing in front of the home, looking up at the sky.
“Natsu?” You call. The man shifts his gaze over to you and gives you a faint smile.
“Hey. I thought I’d wait so we could walk back to campus together.” He breaks eye contact and scratches the back of his neck nervously.
“You didn’t have to do that,” you laugh gently.
“I know, but I wanted to,” he practically whispers. You smile at him and start walking.
“Thank you.”
There’s an odd silence resting between you as walk, both of you thinking about dinner but neither wanting to address it. Natsuo finally speaks up.
“I’m sorry for leaving, Y/n. I just… I can’t stand to be around him,” he seethed. You glance at him before looking back to the concrete pathway.
“You don’t have to apologize. I’m not upset,” You sigh. “Fuyumi was a little hurt though…” Natsu winced.
“I know,” he mutters. Another pause.
“Hey, Nat-” you cut yourself off when you see the paint lines on the street start to move, lifting from the pavement. Before you or Natsuo can process what’s happening, multiple strips of street paint are flying towards you.
“Watch out!” Natsuo shouts and pushes you to the ground. You grunt at the impact and push yourself onto your knees. You look up to see Natsuo hanging above you, wrapped and bound in dried, cracking paint.
“Natsu!” You cry. You hear a deranged chuckle come from the street and you look to find the source. Your eyes widen when you see a man dressed in striped clothing walking towards you, the same strips of paint tied to Natsuo wrapped around him.
“Hahaha, got you!” He says giddily. “Too easy.” Before you can say anything, the villain is bolting off, taking Natsuo with him.
“No! Let him go!” You yell. Without thinking, you chase after them, shoes pounding at the sidewalk. But it’s only a moment before you lose sight of them. No. What do I do? What do I do! You quickly pull your phone out of your pocket and search for the right number. The phone rings for only a second before a deep voice answers.
“Hello?”
“Mr. Todoroki! It’s Natsu!” You panic.
“What happened?” Enji questions. You place a hand over your eyes, trying to calm yourself down enough to explain.
“We were walking back to school and a villain attacked us. He took Natsu!” You hear the man inhale sharply on the other end.
“Do you know where they went?”
“I-I don’t. I tried to follow them bu-but I couldn’t keep up,” you stutter. There’s a sudden noise of tires squealing followed by muffled grunts and shouts.
“He’s here!” Enji says. “Y/n, go back to the house and wait there! I’ll handle this.” And with that, he hangs up. You stand there frozen in shock. You feel your eyes sting and your vision begins to blur. There’s a loud boom in the distance and you whip around to see thick, dark clouds of smoke. That must be them. You turn on your heels and sprint back to the Todoroki household, ignoring the burning in your lungs from both exhaustion and panic.
“Fuyumi!” You call as soon as you step through the front door. You run into the kitchen to find Fuyumi finishing up the dishes, putting away dry plates and bowls. The woman turns around, her face twisted in confusion.
“Y/n? What are you doing back here?” She asks with a giggle. Her expression drops when she notices the hot tears rolling down your face. She puts down the ceramic plates and walks over to you. “What’s wrong?” You press your cold hands to your face, trying to stop your tears.
“Na-Natsu… He-”
“Natsu? Did he do something?” Fuyumi asks, thinking her brother was the reason for your tears. She takes your hands away from your face, squeezing them comfortingly. You shake your head and take a deep, shaky breath.
“A villain took Natsu,” you whimper. Fuyumi freezes.
“What?” She whispers.
“We were almost to campus and a villain came at us. He took Natsuo and ran.” Fuyumi doesn’t say anything, she just stands in shock, gripping your hands in hers. “Enji said he saw them; he told me to come back here.”
“So, dad’s there… It’s okay! He’ll save Natsu and bring him back safely. It’ll be fine!” Fuyumi says, trying to suppress her panic. She forces herself to move, guiding you over the table by your hands. “Shoto and his friends are there too, they’ll help him!” She makes you sit down before walking to a cabinet and pulling out a box of tea leaves.
“I’ll put on some tea, okay? We can have some girl-talk. Just don’t freak out, dads got it.” Fuyumi says encouragingly, though it sounds like she’s speaking more to herself than to you.
The two of you sit at the table, teacups in hand. Fuyumi tries to distract you by telling stories from school, recalling all of the ridiculous and hilarious things her young students have done. And it works, for a while at least, soft giggles leaving your mouths every now and then. But, despite the laughter, both of your minds are still whirling with anxiety, every worst-case scenario being pictured in graphic detail.
Fuyumi glances at you, staring mindlessly into your cup, eyes focused on the swirling tea leaves left behind in the translucent green liquid. Almost an hour has passed and you’ve yet to take even a sip. Fuyumi studies your face, noticing that, under the expression of fear, there’s something else.
Frustration.
Fuyumi smiles and laughs softly, breaking you out of your trance.
“What?” You ask, puzzled. Fuyumi shakes her head gently.
“You really like him, don’t you?” Fuyumi asks, though her tone makes it sound more like a statement than a question. You blink, trying to push away your distracting thoughts for long enough to understand.
“What?” You ask again, even more confused now. The older girl laughs again, this time much more lighthearted.
“I’m talking about Natsu. You like him.” She states bluntly. You stare at her, completely caught off guard.
“I… I don’t know,” You mutter. But you do know. You have for a while. Ever since you were kids, you’d felt differently towards him. The silly childhood crush you had on him never really went away, but instead, continued to grow and mature as the two of you aged. You felt pride in being the person he could go to, and you hoped he felt the same about you. Whether it was sadness, anger, or even just needing to vent after a long day, you were each other’s first go-to.
You’re so grateful for the friendship you have with him. So grateful that you don’t know where you’d be without him. So grateful that you’re willing to do anything if it means he’ll always be in your life. Even if it means bottling your feelings for him and living with the painful, dull ache that tugs at your heart.
And yes, you were frustrated. Annoyed because you’d spent your whole life avoiding the feelings you had for Natsu. Discouraged because you’d naively told yourself you had all the time in the world to one day take the chance and tell him how you feel.
And now, that chance may be taken from you entirely. And you can’t stand it. Your gaze falls back to your now cold tea, hands gripping the fragile glass tightly.
“I think-” You begin to speak but are cut off by the sound of the front door creaking. You and Fuyumi stiffen, eyes locking. Was that the front door?
“Hello?” a familiar deep voice bellows through the halls, a tinge of concern evident. You both simultaneously let go of the breath you didn’t know you were holding, the warming sense of relief flowing over you. You jump from the table and dash to the door to see Enji standing in the foyer, Natsu behind him. Fuyumi lets out a sob and runs to her brother, holding onto him like he’s about to disappear.
“You’re okay!” She cries. Natsuo wraps his arms around her, a muttered “yeah” falling from his lips quietly. His eyes widen when he looks past his sister to see you standing in the doorway, heavy tears streaming down your face and your shoulders jerking in silent sobs. Fuyumi breaks away from him, wiping the tears from her eyes. “I’m so relieved.”
You walk over to him, unable to see the expression on his face for the blurry tears filling your eyes. You throw your arms around his torso, face pressing into his chest.
“I was so scared,” you whisper.
“I’m okay.” He hugs you back tightly. As you part, you subconsciously reach for his hand, taking his larger one in both of yours. Enji lets out a heavy sigh before turning to Fuyumi.
“Listen,” he starts with a solemn tone. “I already told Shoto and Natsuo. I know you’re trying to get things ready for your mother to be able to return home peacefully. We’ve placed that burden on you, but it’s too much for you to handle alone… Don’t worry about it anymore.” Fuyumi looks at her father with faint concern.
“I’m going to build a new house. It’ll be in a better location for everyone. Your mother will be discharged soon, you can welcome her home there.” He removes his shoes and makes his way into the house. “I apologize for the late notice, but you should start preparing to move.” Natsuo turns away and you catch the saddened, almost pained look on his face, and you squeeze his hand.
“Wait, Dad!” Fuyumi calls, her voice cracking. “What about you? Won’t you come with us?” She drifts off, almost hesitant to ask. There’s a pause before he answers.
“I’ll be staying here,” He replies bluntly. Fuyumi gasps softly and you wince, feeling as though you heard her heart break yourself. There’s another long pause of silence, the air slowly becoming thick with tension. Enji continues to walk down the hall. “Natsuo, Y/n, Kurumada is waiting outside. He’ll escort you back to school.” And with that, he leaves. The three of you stand there in silence for what feels like forever.
“You two should probably go,” Fuyumi whispers. She turns and gives you a smile, but you can see the small tears forming in her eyes. She walks over to you and wraps her arms around your and Natsuo’s neck, dragging him down to your level. “I love you guys.”
You and Natsuo hug her back, whispering “I love you too” in return. You all let go of each other and it’s only then that you notice you’re still holding Natsu’s hand, and you realize a part of you is almost afraid to let go. You say goodbye to Fuyumi and step outside into the cold, making your way to the car sitting outside of the wooden gate.
Natsu opens the car door and you shuffle inside, finally dropping his hand. The drive to the school is quiet aside from Kurumada’s occasional grumbled comment about “idiots on the road”. You have your head leaned against the window, lost in thought as you watch the street lights whiz by. You finally make it to the school and step out of the car, bowing to Kurumada in thanks before he flies off.
You and Natsu walk in silence to the dormitory. You flinch ever so slightly when you feel Natsu’s hand take yours but soon relax at the comforting warmth of it. You enter the dorm building, still hand-in-hand, coming to Natsuo’s dorm first. You both stop in front of the door, each waiting for the other to speak. A light gasp escapes your lungs when Natsu pulls you gently by your hand into his chest, large arms embracing you desperately. You feel tears slowly return to your eyes as you wrap your arms around him, pulling him closer.
“I was so worried,” you whisper, trying your best to hold back the sobs caught in your throat. “I was so afraid I might lose you.” Natsuo pulls you impossibly closer, placing a hand on the back of your head. The heavy cries you were trying so hard to keep back break through, tears soaking into his jacket.
“It’s okay. I’m okay,” He comforts. He holds you there for a while before pulling away just far enough to see your face. His wipes at your tears, thumbs tenderly stroking the soft skin of your cheeks, and he does so until they come to a stop. He smiles at you softly and runs a hand over your hair. “Try to get some sleep tonight, okay?” You pause for a moment before rolling you eyes with a small giggle.
“You’re crazy if you think I’ll be able to sleep after all of that,” you joke. Natsu laughs quietly. Another silence falls over you but this time it feels less tense.
“Why don’t you stay here tonight?” Natsu offers. You look at him, eyes slightly widened in surprise.
Sure, you’d shared a room, even a bed with him in the past. Being childhood friends, it was something that happened occasionally. But tonight? Something about staying with him tonight felt different. And yet, a part of you was still almost afraid to leave his side, as if he’ll vanish as soon as you do. You nod your head, wordlessly accepting his offer.
“Okay,” he says, taking your hand once more. He walks closer to the door and unlocks it, guiding you inside. You both take off your shoes and jackets, placing them by the door. Natsuo walks over to his dresser, digging through it for a moment before turning back to you with t-shirt and sweatpants in hand. “Here, it’ll probably fit pretty big, but its better than jeans, right?” He jokes, a genuine smile on his face. You giggle and take the clothing from him, muttering a thank you. You walk into the small bathroom to change.
When you come out you see Natsu, who is now in his own pajamas, sitting on the bed, surfing through movies on his tv. “I thought we could watch a movie or something. Your pick!” He says, and you notice that his usual calm-but-happy tone is returning. He lifts up the edge of the throw blanket he has hastily tossed over his legs and pats the empty spot next to him.
“Why does it feel like you’re comforting me more than I’m comforting you? You’re the one who got kidnapped after all,” You chuckle. You make your way over to the bed and sit down beside him, shoulders brushing, and you miss the brief look of nervousness splashed across the man’s face.
“Nah,” he waves his hand dismissively. “You being here is comfort enough for me!” You feel your face warm and you pull the blanket up to your cheeks in hopes of hiding your blushing.
The two of you scroll through the massive selection of movies, silently agreeing to avoid action and thriller type films. You’d both had enough action for one night. You eventually decide on a comedy drama, something lighthearted. You lean against Natsuo, your head just barely resting on his shoulder, and you feel him relax, a soft sigh leaving his lungs. About 20 minutes into the film, you begin to feel like things are normal again, the anxiety in your system finally dissipating. It’s just you and your childhood best friend, watching a movie like you used to do every weekend before your schedules got busy. Childhood best friend. Friend.
Fuyumi’s words come back to you suddenly. “You really like him, don’t you?” You glance at him, his eyes and mind completely focused on the film in front of him, entirely oblivious to the thoughts occurring in your head. Your eyes trace the outline of his profile and you drink in his every detail. His strong jawline, the swell of his lips, his sharp and angular yet soft and kind eyes. It’s at that moment that you know, it’s no longer some silly childhood crush. It hasn’t been for a while now. It’s something more serious, more mature than that. something that, no matter how much he frustrated you or made you sad, would never change.
And the thought that you could have lost him? It made you nauseous. You almost lost your chance to ever tell him what’s on your heart. And you won’t run the risk of losing it again. You turn your eyes back to the tv, yet your attention is no where near the events happening on the screen. You feel your heart start to pound and you ball your hands together in hopes of calming it.
“Natsuo,” you say, and you’re almost surprised he hears you considering how quietly you spoke. He turns to you with a soft hum in acknowledgment.
“Everything okay?” He asks when you don’t say anything, despite having called for his attention. You want to look at him, but the thought of saying what you’re about to say while looking him in the eyes is too much. So you keep your eyes trained on your hands. You squeeze your hands tighter and take a deep breath.
“I love you, Natsuo… I have for a long time, I was just too scared to admit it,” you confess. You feel the man’s gaze harden on you, but he doesn’t say anything, so you continue. “When that villain ran off with you, I was terrified that might be the last time I ever saw you, and I was so mad with myself for having never said anything.”
He still doesn’t say anything and you finally muster the courage to look over at him. But you rip your eyes away as soon as they meet his, a look you can’t quite decipher on his face. Embarrassment and anxiety take over as you begin to ramble, trying to make your confession not sound so serious.
“I know we’ve been friends for a long time and that’s probably all you view me as. I understand if-” Before you can get another word in, a hand is placed gently on the side of your head, guiding your face back to his. Next thing you know, there’s a pair of soft, warm lips on yours. You freeze for a moment, your mind being slow in processing what’s happening. And before you can, the warm sensation is gone and he’s pulling away. You look into his eyes with shock and only see love in his.
“I love you too,” he whispers. He grins brightly before it drops into a smaller, caring smile. You feel your body relax, any worry leaving immediately and instead replaced by those familiar butterflies.
“To tell you the truth, I’m not sure I realized just how much I do until tonight. A lot was going through my head, but one of the main things was realizing how much I love you and how I might never get the chance to tell you that.” He says all of this while looking you directly in the eyes with an expression he’d always kept hidden from you in the past. One full of deep love and care. “I’m so glad I didn’t lose the chance.”
“I love you, so much,” you say, feeling oncoming tears for what feels like the millionth time that night. But this time, they aren’t of pain. Natsuo looks at you, eyes soft and a blush across his face. He pulls you close, lips barely brushing as he speaks against them, cool breath fanning you face.
“I love you too. More than you know.” He presses his lips fervently against yours, his hand snaking behind your neck and your arms wrapping around his. You feel him smile onto your lips before laughing quietly, breaking your kiss. You pull away and place your forehead tenderly against his.
“What?” You ask.
“Your pulse, it’s really fast,” he states. You roll your eyes jokingly.
“I think that’s what happens when you kiss someone you like,” you quip. He chuckles and gives you a mischievous smirk.
“Why don’t we make it a little faster?”

I ONCE BELIEVED LOVE WOULD BE BURNING RED
shouto todoroki x reader
Shouto Todoroki does not know how to love.
At least, he’s unaware.
The only thing Shouto knew for sure he could do with his heart was freeze it. To him it was amour. A shield. Something that would keep him from being burned once more.
While that armour did shield him from the shattered fragments of his childhood, they also deflected the pure, molten honey that tried incredibly to break through the walls every time someone would show care for him.
Shouto lived his days on, blissfully unaware of how melted ice dripped from his very finger tips, and pooled in the hands and hearts of those he dared to hold close to him. Very few, but they were there.
Natsuo and Fuyumi, for instance. He knows they care for him. He knows it in the way Natsuo takes his head in his much larger arms and reminds him that he’s still in fact their baby brother. He sees the way Fuyumi goes out of her way to call Shouto some kind of reminder- Have you eaten yet? Or Rest well! He knows it should be routine, but perhaps he forces himself to forget. Perhaps he convinces himself he’d be better off not getting used to these things. Not used to the comfort.
He knows his mother loved him- or at least he hopes. He pretends not notice the wince of guilt in his mothers eyes when her gaze meets his scar. He wishes he had zero ties to his father, to burn every photo, every memory, every reminder- anything that still clutched all the pain he caused. Maybe then he wouldn’t doubt his own mothers love.
He has fond memories of Touya. Shouto was forevermore lost in his imagination of who his eldest brother was. He was stuck dreaming up this image of him, only to remember that his father got to Touya before Shouto could truly meet him. Shouto was taught how to fight and how to mourn, never how to heal. Maybe he learned it not from his father, but his brother. His brother who might have lived through the same hell he did. He could only imagine being embraced by someone who truly understood his pain, someone who could find the boy inside him and tell him he’d be okay. Shouto could imagine.
Shouto is clueless when it comes to you, however.
He knows the way you make him feel, but putting a word to match the beating of his heart was its own labor.
He’s able to recognize the longing for his body to be overgrown with wisteria next to yours. He knows he feels his soul collide with yours when your lips of sun press their light on his face. He knows he can feel roses bloom between you and the sheets the night you fall asleep next to him. He knows how he wishes to eulogize the tip of your nose to the depths of your soul when he presses his body against yours.
Crack!
Drip. Drip. Drip.
Shouto feels the ice struggle when he tells you he loves you. He feels it finally surrender when he hears you say it back, instead replacing itself with the liquid sun that finally infiltrated inside.
It didn’t burn him at all.

8TEEN
natsuo x gn!reader
modern au
insp by 8TEEN by khalid
———
natsuo todoroki was your childhood best friend.
natsuo who was constantly dragging you out of bed because you had a bad habit of oversleeping
natsuo who always had the most hilarious moments of panic trying to douse the seats of his car in febreeze, the smell of you two’s blunt being passed back and forth the night before refusing to budge
natsuo who always took the longer way to school because of “traffic,” which always gave you two a few extra minutes to yell the lyrics to your favorite songs
natsuo who is somehow amazing at every class you struggle with, so you’ve never had to go out of your way to search for a tutor.
natsuo who spent more time at your house than his own, as your parents were a little more understanding than his father.
natsuo who couldn’t be talked out of crazy ass ideas if they were coming from you; you two have been banned from 3 wal-marts and have gotten grounded for sneaking out more than a few times. you two are nicknamed “the breakfast club” at school for some of the wild things you’ve pulled off to land yourselves in a saturday detention.
natsuo who would humor your schemes, but would also rather die than let you put yourself in the way of real danger.
natsuo who was always the hardest to fight with. you two had only fought a handful of times in the years you’d been friends, and the squabbles never lasted long. they usually ended in tearful apologies and bear hugs, seeing as you two couldn’t bear to stay upset with each other
and it was natsuo who was your first kiss. and you were his. it wasn’t one of those perfect, romance novel-esque kisses by any standards. but it was natsuo, so you wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
natsuo who couldn’t bear the thought of anyone else being your first kiss, insisting that you two kissed ‘as friends’ to make sure both of you had a good experience with someone you were comfortable with.
natsuo who always got annoyed and short when you teased him about not dating anyone. you always assumed that he was just frustrated about you pointing out him having no game, but you were missing the mark with that judgment.
because natsuo was saving that for you, saving himself for you.
natsuo, who was hopelessly in love with you and didn’t see a point in trying with anyone else. he’d wait for you, however long it took.

comforting late night
❝No! How are you so good at this game!! Are you sure this is your first time?❞
You jokingly cry as you look at the big screen saying you lost. He still continues to reassure you that this was in fact his first time playing Super Smash Bros. You and Shoto were currently hanging out in your dorm, at break yesterday an interesting discussion was brought up which shocked almost everyone yet you and Shoto were too busy in you own little world as you both were sat in the corner. Games popped up and you found out that Shoto has never played Super Smash Bros. It turns out that the only games he had ever played were really old games that he and his siblings would play whenever his father wasn't around. Now knowing this, it was obvious that you had invited him to play some games that you had.
Back at the dorm, you and Shoto were hanging out having a fun time. both of you had moved from the floor to up your bed and both sat down on it, you grab the laptop that was on your bed and an idea popped up in your head.
❝Hey Shoto, want me to play some music?❞ ❝Sure.❞
He agrees, you reach out for your small speaker and connect it to your laptop. As you search for some songs, you contemplate.
❛What if he doesn’t like the songs I play..❜ You sigh in panic, wondering what songs he prefers listening to. Going through your playlist which was full of songs yet you weren’t so sure he would like the ones you listen to or would it be up to his tastes.
❝I'm sure I would love whatever song you put on.❞
He reassured you. His reassurance made your heart beat faster as well as give you butterflies, that seriously caught you off guard.
❛Is he reading my mind?!❜
You thought, after making up your mind you put on your favorite song. Both of you guys agreed that it was a bit late so you turned off the game and both of you focused on the music, the song slowly starts and you start quietly singing along to it. You feel eyes on you so you turn your head to Shoto and the both of you make eye contact, both of you stare into each other's eyes as you sing. You start bobbing and moving your head slightly to the song. Shoto starts singing yet a tad bit more softer than your voice, you were taken back but nonetheless it made you smile. You hug him from the sides and sway to the sides as both of you sing the song. The feeling of this very moment was indescribable, it was just you and Shoto, awake late at night, both singing and swaying to your favorite song while eating snacks. It made your heart feel nice and warm, Shoto was the only one that made you feel completely safe and made you forget about all your problems.
He was your safe place.
You and Shoto shift and rest your backs on the headboard of the bed, after getting comfortable you slowly stop singing and you get quieter. Your eyes shut close as sleep slowly takes over you. Shoto notices this and stretches out his hand to change the song to a more calming and quiet song, he squirms around and does his best to move your head to the pillow, concerned that you would hurt your neck if you slept like that. He lays next to you on his side staring at you with a small smile.
He leans in, looking at the lower part of your face. He soon realized how close he was as he felt his cheeks heat up, leaning back a bit he then proceeded to press a kiss on your forehead and continue humming to the song that was still playing.
He soon drifted off to sleep with his arms around you.
