Corrupted Wolf is. difficult to parse in that respect. And I am very bad with "good to evil" scales-

They're a. Threat. and very much corrupted. The Vanguard is very well aware of this fact, and Wolf makes zero attempt to hide it.

But, they aren't really attacking the Vanguard. Or just... in general.

They're definitely evil-ish! With bad intent! But not directly towards the Vanguard. They're like Sav in Witch Queen in that regard

Sav was looking to protect the Traveller, but the Vanguard got caught in the way and was being hurt by it. Corrupted wants power, not strictly to destroy the Vanguard. But that's specifically because this one deems the VG nigh powerless against them and mildly helpful against what they're actually trying to kill, so might as well keep them around (and also because, despite Wolf's insistence, they do still care about those people. They just... refuse to acknowledge it in pursuit of power)

Corrupted is willing to go very, very far, though. Two reasons not to kill you:

A. they thought you were funny (To be clear: "Funny" is used here to mean "oh fuck you have a good point. Unfortunately, I am not in the business for being Emotionally Logical today" and then they laugh at you) B. you used to be their friend

and then they kick you out. Unless you're absolutely confident you can get that reaction everytime and think you can just slowly wear them down into giving up bc they don't want to kill you, just leave
