I guess we should expect asks like those when you decide to get the slightest bit political with fanart… you’re braver than most for trying out the concept lmao. I think if you want your RL to be less borderline I’d change the colors of his hat, and maybe shrink the horns a little. As well as make the “shoulder spikes” toned down more too. Your concept is really interesting otherwise especially with the badges (those are EXCELLENT) but that hat does really invoke the n/azi imagery to me with those aspects.

I think if we want to make RL designs that look militant we have to be super super careful with the color choices and his philosophy… even slightly invoking na/zi imagery and then parading the fact that his army commits mass murder doesn’t go well together in my opinion. with all due respect im inclined to disagree; the exaggerated horns and spiked lapels are not only what distinguishes RL as tord and directly references the OG RL motifs, but completely necessary to disrupt the design from being too realistic

The worst consequence of conflating Israel with Judaism is that people will eventually associate Israeli war crimes and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians with every Jew on Earth, and those who oppose Israel and its genocide of Palestinians will be one step closer to becoming full-on antisemites because of that association. Don't get me wrong I loved FMA as a child and look back on the story and characters fondly but now that I'm an Adult it shares the same sentiment as ATLA in the sense that it fails in the universe's government structure and handles its revolutionaries/protesting characters poorly like in both shows there are characters done dirty as a result of the government/military and take action against it for the sake of the people and they're written as the bad guys while the protagonist's solution is just to put a new person in charge of the inherently flawed system
