In the Melody of Dawn, I'll Find You

Description: Everything in nature has a spirit, whether it is something as small as a budding flower or as big as the sun itself. Each spirit has a purpose to fulfill in their life, and they are to continue fulfilling it until they fade away along with their host. To most spirits, they are content with just this purpose. This purpose gives them the energy to continue on. There are a rare few who find this purpose draining, however, and they see no other reason for it other than to make their lives dull and stagnant. This is the story of a certain special ten who feel this way, and how they find another purpose that makes their lives worth living.

NOTE: This first chapter was written in 2018, long before WayV was formed and before The Everything that happened with a character in the ao3 tags who had yet to appear in this work besides in the introduction. This work itself is currently being revised, and this version is only still up for archival purposes

Park Jisung, the Moon spirit. His purpose is to keep the world alive while the sun sleeps. Loneliness is all he’s known, despite having the sea, the sunset, and the brightest star in the sky at his side. He doesn’t feel wanted by his friends, despite how much he really means to them. To him, he’s just there to help them with their problems, and he’ll leave when they are resolved. If he could just find someone to hold him down, to make him see just how much he affects the lives of others, maybe then he’ll find a reason to stay and keep shining as bright as he should.

Lee Jeno, a Star spirit. His purpose is to light the way for the other spirits at night on the nights where the moon cannot. His light puts every other star to shame, yet he still harbors a hidden darkness deep inside. His heart belongs to the ocean and the sunset, yet he only lets the beautiful parts of him shine. If he could just let himself be vulnerable and admit his faults without fear of being rejected, then he can realize that he would still be truly accepted, no matter what.

Na Jaemin, the Ocean spirit. His purpose is to help maintain the life that the sun and moon have created on earth. He spends his days watching the sun and clouds chase each other in a game of cat and mouse with their hearts, and he spends his nights pining after the sunset and a certain bright star. His heart has already been broken once, and he’ll be damned if he lets these two break it again, despite the fact that they would never dream of doing that. If only he could just realize that he will never see how they feel about him if he keeps holding his head high above them like he does, and he has to look down and see just how far they would be willing to go for him if he would just let them.

Huang Renjun, the Dusk spirit. His purpose is to help put the sun to sleep and wake up the moon every night. Every night he wakes up happily anticipating the sight of the two who have stolen his heart: the ocean and a blindingly bright star. But when the darkness falls, he goes to sleep frustrated at how they both evade his love, but he never tells just how much it tears him apart to have to say goodbye every night. If he could just find it in himself to let them know how he truly feels, then he could see just how much he means to the both of them.

Kim Jungwoo, the Earth spirit. His purpose is to provide the basis for the life that the sun and moon conjure up in this world. All his life, his only true company has been the forest. He envies the ocean, who has the moon, the sunset, and the brightest star in the sky at his side. He envies the sun and the clouds that seem to love each other by hating each other. Oh, how he wishes he could have something like that, if only he wasn’t so shy. If he could just find someone to break him out of his little shell, maybe then he could know what it feels like to truly live and be happy.

Qian Kun, a Forest spirit. His purpose is to provide a home and shelter to the animals that reside by the beach where this story takes place. He has the earth to keep him company, but he wishes they could both be welcomed in the company of the other spirits. One of the disadvantages of being unable to leave the cover of the trees, he guesses. If he could just see what he has inside what he considers a prison, then he could see that the life that stays inside his little bubble isn’t so bad after all, and he really isn’t missing out on true happiness.

Zhong Chenle, the Dawn spirit. His purpose is to put the moon to sleep and wake up the sun every morning. His laughter brightens the entire world, yet some days he feels that it isn’t genuine. Perhaps he is jealous of the fact that the sun has a cloud that spends almost every day with him or the fact that he wakes up to the sound of the moon and ocean laughing with each other, yet there is no moon to be found. Either way, he can feel himself losing his happy glow by the day, and it scares him more than he would like to admit. He wants to only feel the happiness that he brings to others, but he has to come to terms with the sadness in life before he can really be free and happy.

Lee Donghyuck, the Sun spirit. His purpose is to bring the flame that lights up an otherwise cold and dead universe. His light and warmth are supposed to bring both life and death to the world, yet he refuses to embrace the part of him that brings destruction. He is slowly starting to suffocate under his repressed destructive energy, and one day he will pay the price. But if he accepts both sides of himself before then, he will know what it is truly like to free and happy like he says he is.

Mark Lee, a Cloud spirit. His purpose is to protect the world from the sun on the days where his heat gets too overbearing. He cares deeply for the sun and would spend every day by his side, but some days he feels as if he is no longer wanted. They have been fighting more often, and on some days their fights bring on a rage from him that even the earth and ocean cower from in fear. If he could just see why his dear Sun is lashing out like this and bring himself down to help him, he wouldn’t have to fight so hard to keep his heart from being broken.

Wong Yukhei, a Wind spirit. His purpose is to breathe life into the world that the sun and moon have created. So far, he has been content with just going with the flow, never settling down for anything and just coming and going as he pleases. But deep down, he is getting tired of that free feeling. He wants someone to tie him down, to make him rethink his decisions if he ever leaves. Perhaps he will find it here, on this island the spirits reside on.

It is spring, the season of new beginnings. Unbeknownst to these ten, this will be the start of a story that will forever change their entire lives.

Jisung blinks awake from a dreamless sleep to Renjun roughly shaking him, almost shaking him out of the bed entirely. He bites back a curse as he opens his eyes and twists out of Renjun’s grasp. Right, the seasons are changing yet again. That meant he had to sacrifice more of his waking hours to try and get three lovestruck idiots together. Great. Absolutely wonderful. “Good evening hyung. Thanks for that oh-so-polite awakening,” he grumbles as he sits up and rubs the sleep out of his eyes.

“You’re very welcome Jisungie. Now come on, you need to get up,” Renjun replies in a sweet, almost motherly tone. Jisung rolls his eyes and tosses the blankets aside onto his friend, who squawked in protest. The red light emanating from Renjun’s hair disappears under the sheets; and the walls of Jisung’s room go back to a soothing indigo, a welcome change from Renjun’s burning red.

“And you need to screw off,” Jisung grumbles, flicking the blankets back over Renjun’s head right as he untangled himself. The disgruntled moon spirit pushes himself up out of bed and grabbed a hairbrush from his bedside table, halfheartedly running it through his deep blue hair that started to glow softly as it becomes untangled. He stares blankly into a mirror on the wall beside his bed as he tried to make himself look presentable. He looks as if he is blending into the shadows in the room, the only thing giving away his presence being Renjun’s red light creating a silhouette for him. On nights of the new moon when he looked like this, barely visible if it weren’t for the light of his friends; Jisung wished he could just sleep in the whole night. Sure he still had his job to do, but there really isn’t any point if no one would notice him doing it, right? It’s funny, he’d only ever really been admired or appreciated during the full moon. Those are the nights where his bright silver hair outshines even Jeno’s, and the night crowds around him to watch him dance. Even though the attention could get a little suffocating at times, he would still prefer all that rather than be practically invisible. Renjun must have caught sight of his wistful expression, as his soft voice suddenly cut through Jisung’s melancholy thoughts.

“Jisungie, are you alright?” Renjun asks, placing a gentle hand on Jisung’s shoulder. The concern is apparent in his voice and expression, and the red glow of his hair dimmed down to the point where it was almost nonexistent.

“I’m fine. Just the normal New Moon mood swings,” Jisung sighed, brushing off his friend’s worries with a reassuring smile. That’s what Jisung had always told everyone, and it was true to some extent. The New Moon did make him feel a little less than appreciated at times, but sometimes he would feel even worse even if the moon was at its fullest. He had never known why he almost always felt so listless and tired, and he told himself that it’ll go away if he just sticks to what he’s supposed to do.

“I wish I could say I relate so I can help,” Renjun murmurs, giving Jisung a sympathetic smile, “But it’ll all be okay soon, the moon will come back and you can shine brightly again. And remember that I’m here to talk if you want me to, okay?”

“Yeah, I know. Seriously, don’t worry about it okay? This is normal for me,” Jisung reassured, giving Renjun his brightest smile and hoping it didn’t look too forced. He knew Renjun had good intentions, and he was truly grateful for it, but at the same time, he’d rather have his friend not care about him at all. It would make him feel less guilty if he left like he wanted to. Renjun already had his own problems with Jeno and Jaemin, and Jisung can’t imagine how he woke up to Mark and Donghyuck fighting almost every day. Perhaps it would be easier if he just stayed invisible. No one would notice if he faded away anyway.

Renjun just gave him another worried stare, but he lets the topic slide.

“Anyway, want to go meet Jeno and Jaemin? I’m sure they’ve been waiting to see you,” Jisung suggested, quickly changing the subject before it can get awkward. He knew that trying to help those three again tonight would only exhaust him more, but he did it anyway since he had nothing better to do.

Renjun’s smile (and hair) light up the room instantly, and Jisung doesn’t need to hear Renjun’s response to know the answer.

Fifteen minutes later, Renjun and Jisung make their way down to the beach, the glow of Renjun’s hair illuminating the path ahead of them. “Hyung, your hair makes it look like we’re setting the forest on fire,” Jisung jokes, his previous sadness temporarily forgotten.

“It’s burning with my love for them,” Renjun sighs in reply, his eyes dancing with whatever daydream he’s having about the two.

Jisung rolls his eyes. Those three were all so whipped for each other, it was ridiculous. He stops when he sees a familiar figure standing at the beach, the water lapping up around their ankles.

“Jisungie! Renjun-hyung!” The figure calls, waving furiously to the two of them.

“Jaemin!” Renjun exclaims, running over to envelop the Ocean spirit in a hug, nearly bowling the two of them over. Jisung hears their joyous laughter from the edge of the forest where he stands, and he pushes back a wave of jealousy as he watched the two playfully wrestle in the tideline. Jaemin used to look at Jisung the same way he looked at Jeno and Renjun, and although that relationship had slowly burned out and ended with no hard feelings on either end, Jisung wishes he could still have a bond like that. Maybe it would help him feel less lonely.

“Jaemin-hyung! How have you been?” Jisung called as Renjun and Jaemin eventually separate, hoping that the exhaustion in his voice isn’t too evident. He makes his way down the sand towards the two, stopping a safe distance away from them in case they still weren’t done with each other.

“I’ve missed you.” Jaemin murmurs as he stands up to face Jisung, warmth spreading into his voice. “You don’t come around as often as you used to.” The Ocean spirit opens his arms for a hug, flashing the Moon spirit a dazzling smile. Jisung hesitates, dropping his gaze to hide his tired eyes. ‘If only you knew why...’ He thought to himself.

“Come on Jisungie, for old time’s sake~?” Jaemin pleads, and Jisung is unable to resist despite his exhausted reluctance. He rushes forward and all but collapses into his friend’s arms, ignoring the cold water splashing up around his feet.

“Sorry I haven’t been able to come to see you lately. I’ve had... Other issues,” he muttered, his embrace going slack as Jaemin hugged him tighter. He silently curses himself for making his feelings so obvious. Jaemin had been the first to know about the creeping melancholy that had slowly taken hold in Jisung’s life, and it makes Jisung want nothing more than to just leave.

“Jisungie, you’ve got to tell me when you’re feeling like this. I still do love you, you know. I don’t want you to be unhappy.” Jaemin subtly motions behind Jisung’s back for Renjun to join them as he spoke. “Tell me what’s been on your mind, Renjun and I will listen,” he urges.

“I-it’s nothing, really. I just...” Jisung bit his lip to hold back his tears as Renjun hugged him from behind. He hesitated for a long while trying to find the right words to express himself without making the atmosphere too depressive. He hated it when his friends find out about his hidden sadness; it always made everything after feel so heavy, and he wound up making them help him instead of the other way around like it should be. “I... It’s been feeling a little cold lately,” he finally chokes out, silver tears slipping down his face.

Renjun knew full well what he meant, and he hugged Jisung tighter in response. “I’m sorry you feel that way,” he murmurs.

“We’ll always be here for you Jisung. Even if you feel like there is no one on your side, we’ll be here for you,” Jaemin adds, holding Jisung close to his chest as he starts to cry.

Silver drops fall and mix with the water as Jisung’s pent-up emotions finally come spilling out, and he is thankful that Jaemin’s tight grip keeps him upright. He stays there in his friend’s embrace for what feels like hours, and when he finally calms down, he notices that Jeno has joined their embrace as well.

“Hi, Jisung. Are you alright? I came to meet you all just like you said but then I came and saw you crying, so I-“ Jeno is cut off by Jisung, who waves him off.

“It’s fine, really. You three can go on without me, I’m going to rest.” Jisung murmurs, ignoring Jaemin’s concerned protest. He gently pushes him away towards Jeno and Renjun, urging him to talk to the other two as he leaves. “Seriously, I’m fine. You guys just stay with each other, I’ll be back. I promise.” He insists, walking off before any of the three can say anything. He turns around when he reaches just beyond the treeline, and he can see that the three of them have followed his advice and are now talking to each other. ‘Better for them to be with each other than be worrying about me.’ He thinks to himself as he continues down the path through the forest.

His emotional outburst had left him drained, and he wants nothing but to just go home and sleep. It wouldn’t matter if he slept before the Dawn spirit came to put him to bed anyway since he had always passed out before they even arrived for as long as he can remember. He knows it isn’t good, but no one seemed to notice, so he’d keep doing it until someone noticed and stopped him. His steps take him deep into the forest past his house tonight, and despite how contradictory it sounds, he feels welcomed by the sense of loneliness that settles over him.

‘Maybe tonight I’ll just let the forest swallow me up... Surely no one would care if I disappeared, right?’ He thinks to himself, although he quickly shakes that thought away. ‘No, I can’t think like that. Jeno, Renjun, and Jaemin still need me... Heaven knows they’ll die before they confess without my help...’ Despite how much he loves his friends, he still wishes he didn’t feel so used by them. He knows they all love him dearly, but there’s always a nagging feeling in the back of his mind that tells him that he isn’t really needed by them, and once they have their issues solved, they’ll just leave him.

He tips his head back and heaves a long sigh, staring up at the starry sky. He can hear the faint laughter of the other star spirits as they dance, and the soft voice of the Sky spirit singing along as they light up their stage. On another night, he might join them up there on that stage, but not tonight. The moon is hidden behind a dark mask tonight, so he’d never be noticed among all those shining lights. He is thankful for the shorter nights of the changing seasons this time. Normally he’d hate how he has less time to dance and show off to everyone, but now he’s a little happy that he has less time to be awake to deal with his and his friend’s problems.

‘Jaemin would probably have been willing to dance with me... At least, before Jeno and Renjun...’ He thinks to himself. He instantly regrets that thought though, as all the happy memories from their past love come flooding back into his mind, and he wants nothing more than to just close his eyes and forget them all. Don’t get him wrong, he isn’t bitter in any sense about their relationship ending. He had been starting to lose his feelings for Jaemin a while into their relatively casual relationship, and the creeping sadness inside his heart had gradually made it harder and harder to keep loving him while still loving himself. Jaemin had been completely understanding when Jisung had approached him about ending their relationship, and he promised to stay beside his side platonically until Jisung found someone else to make him happy and keep the darkness out of his heart.

But still, Jisung still wishes to have that connection with someone. It really doesn’t matter who at this point, he guesses. He just wants someone to take the pain away. Although, that would be even worse for him in the long run.

He is jolted out of his thoughts when he missteps and falls down a short cliff onto another beach. ‘Since when did I-‘ His train of thought is stopped completely when he looks up and finds himself in a completely unfamiliar area. ‘Did I just... Cross this entire island!?’ He thinks to himself, scanning the area for anything that he might recognize. He sees nothing familiar, and he freezes in fear. He really shouldn’t be scared though, since Jaemin would always be able to find him even all the way out here, but still. He can see the sky getting lighter in the distance, and it isn’t Renjun’s fiery red. Dawn is coming.

He feels even more nervous when he’s faced with the fact that he managed to cross the entire island in one night, and now he’s stayed up long enough to meet the one person that he still hasn’t met, despite their inherent need to be connected. He highly doubts that the Dawn spirit will be happy with him avoiding them for as long as he can remember. It’s not like he could really help falling asleep before they get the chance to put him to bed like they should, but he doubts that they will listen if he tells them.

His fears are confirmed when he hears faint singing coming from somewhere in the distance, and he frantically looks around for a place to hide. He had long forgotten the route he had taken to get here, and he wasn’t in the mood to try and call Jaemin over to save him now. He spots a cave a short distance away, and sprints across the sand to avoid the oncoming Dawn.

As soon as he enters the mouth of the cave, he nearly breaks his legs stumbling over the rocks at the entrance (If it were even possible to break his legs in the first place). For once, he curses the darkness that surrounds him for hindering his way as he runs further and further in. He would find his way out later, now he just cares about hiding and possibly never coming out.

He finally stops after about five minutes of running blindly through the darkness, crashing to a halt at a sudden opening in the cave tunnels. He looks up to see a small opening in the roof, just big enough to hold the image of the full moon if it had been shining tonight. The faint glow of the stars above illuminates the surprisingly clean cavern, which has a perfectly circular spring of clear water in the dead center underneath the opening in the roof. He approaches the spring with caution, noticing that there is a sort of path leading towards it. Nothing too obvious, but he can tell by how worn the stone is that someone has been coming here for a long time. A quick glance behind him tells that whoever it is hasn’t arrived tonight, and he turns back to the spring and is surprised by how still the water is. Despite the opening in the roof and his rough entrance that surely jostled the entire cave system, the water hasn’t moved at all. He can see small crystals forming intricate patterns at the bottom and the sides of the spring, and if he focuses, his reflection stares back up at him in the water.

‘Have I always looked this tired?’ He thinks to himself, reaching out a slightly trembling hand to touch his reflected self in the cold water. He’s surprised he hadn’t noticed how drained he looks sooner. He feels bad for Jaemin, Jeno, and Renjun for having to see this exhausted version of him every night. He always tends to look a little tired during the waning moon, when his body can’t take any more of his exhausting performances every night, but this is different. Worse. There are dark circles under his sunken eyes, and there are silver streaks tracing down his face from his earlier tears. His hair is dull and messy despite his attempts to keep it neat, and his cheeks are pale and hollow. He can barely recognize himself reflected in the clear water, and he can’t help but sigh at how far he’s fallen from grace.

“Pretty, isn’t it? I was really amazed when I first saw it too.”

An unknown voice breaks through his thoughts from the entrance of the cavern, and Jisung nearly jumps out of his skin.

He whips around to see no one other than the Dawn spirit smiling cheerfully down at him.

A/N: i am trying to get more focused on this since i really have the basics of how i want it all to play out, just need to focus on the actual writing part. But I am starting to get more motivation, so let’s see when i can finish the next part! two more parts til their big day though! also tag list is open if any one is interested in getting notified when the next part is! hope you enjoy!!

After walking deep in the garden, you and Kun decide to sit on one of the benches in the garden. He looks around the quiet garden while you glance at him through your peripheral.

“I’m really sorry for Ten’s actions last night,” Kun brings up again as he leans forward, placing his elbows on his knees. “I know I should have cut off the conversation as soon as I saw him take you away—”

“Stop talking and listen to yourself! You were willing to come off as rude and weak to the general for a person who is not worth it!” You interrupt him, not wanting him to continue to blame himself for what happened last night.

He sighs. “I don’t know if you’re calling Ten or yourself unworthy. If its Ten, then hell yeah, he is not worth it. But if you are talking about you?” He sits up and grabs your face in between his warm hands. “Then you are worth everything, regardless of what happens to me.”

You look into his shining eyes and playfully push him away, weakly. “Stop, you’re going to make me all flustered.” He laughs, kissing your forehead before pulling away.

Right when he opens his mouth to say something to you, a splash of something wet and cold hits the both of you which causes you two to shriek.

“Stop being all cutesy!” Renjun yells, running away with Chenle as they each hold an empty bucket. Kun immediately stands up, allowing you to see the entirety of his back wet. You laugh and turn around to see your brothers and Chenle giggling and running into the maze of a garden, throwing the buckets towards you two to slow you down.

You jump up and grab the water hose that was left behind by a gardener as Kun grabs a nozzle that he found lying nearby. You quietly weave through the maze-like garden with Kun helping you look for the young princes. You were able to find the four princes by their giggles and their loud shushes as they tried to get each other to quiet down—keyword: tried. Kun nudges you and hands you the nozzle for the hose and gestures that he will go turn on the water. You nod, quickly placing the nozzle on the hose and wait for Kun to turn on the water.

“NOW!” you hear Kun faintly yell from a distance. You run around the hedge that the four princes are hiding behind and press on the lever, aiming directly at them. They all scream as the cold water hits them.

“OKAY! STOP, STOP, STOP!” Sicheng screams as he shoves Yukhei in front of him to get drenched by the water instead. You let go of the lever right when Kun arrives. He laughs, looking at the now wet princes. He grabs the hose out of your hands, “Now. Whose idea was it to throw two buckets of water at me?”

The princes refuse to make eye contact with him and resort to looking at the ground, lightly nudging each other to confess. Kun aims to Renjun and Chenle, allowing Yukhei and Sicheng to escape. “Which one?” Neither of them says anything making Kun press the lever. Renjun and Chenle flinch, but when no water goes their way, the two of them look towards Kun. You look at Kun as well only for him to make eye contact with you.

“There’s no-“ he gets cut off by Yukhei pouring a bucket of water over his head. Kun drops the hose causing Yukhei to drop the bucket and quickly grabbing the hose. “NOW, SICHENG!” Yukhei yells, causing you to run away from them and try to find a hiding spot in the garden. Chenle and Renjun try to stop you by running after you, but Kun grabs on to them tightly and throws his body weight onto them.

You stop running after you get back to where you and Kun were in the beginning, hearing the playful screeches of the princes in the distance. Let’s do it like good old times, you thought. You head to the gardener’s shed and find another hose with a nozzle already on one end. You quickly run to the tap and turn off the water, disconnecting the hose and connecting the one you found. You run towards the princes from a different direction and see them questioning why there was no water coming out of the hose, and you press on the lever spraying all of them. They all yell, surprised as they weren’t expecting you. Sicheng runs towards you, trying to snatch the hose out of your hands. You both struggle for a bit, with you trying to spray Sicheng in the face and Sicheng trying to stop you and trying to get the hose out of your grip.

“What’s this?!” Mother yells behind you as she approaches the chaos that was unleashed. You quickly let go of the hose and move next to Sicheng, which makes Sicheng almost lose his balance. This causes him to press down the lever, while the nozzle is aimed towards your mother. She screams as the cold water hits her, and Sicheng immediately drops the hose, all of you freezing in fear. A couple of guards come running to your mother’s aid after hearing her loud scream. Your father’s head could be seen above the rest of the guards causing you to grab onto Sicheng’s arm as the both of you run away to hide. This causes the rest of the princes to snap back into reality and to run and hide with you two behind some hedges, quietly laughing at what happened as all of you continue to watch what would go down.

“What happened, darling?” your father asks your mother as the guards leave once they notice that it wasn’t something threatening her safety. She aggravatedly sighs, “They’re acting like little children!”

Father laughs, holding on to Mother’s arm. “Oh, my sweet love. You must remember what it was like to be young and to have fun?” She shrugs him off and grabs the hose that Sicheng had dropped. “Oh, I certainly do,” she responds as she presses the lever and pointing it at your father. He stands there, with his mouth wide open frozen in shock as your Mother did that. You all laugh a little too loudly, alerting your mother where you are all hiding. She turns around and quickly aims where you all were hiding, effectively getting the ones that were in the front wet. You all scream and run away, with the King and Queen’s laughter heard over the screams.

You walk out of your bathroom drying your hair with your towel. You sit down on your vanity chair and grab the hairbrush to take out the tangles out of your hair. As soon as you finish brushing your hair, you hear a quiet knock at your door. You put your brush down a little curious as to who it was, since your brothers just barge in without knocking—much less knock louder than what you heard if they ever were to knock—and anyone else, including Kun and Chenle, announce that they are there.

“Who is it?” you question loudly and turn in your chair to face the door. The person just knocks again before calling out your name in a teasing manner. You still can’t recognize the voice, but you get too curious and get up to open the door and see who it is.

THE ARTIST — an upcoming artist who often gets commissioned to do paintings. sometimes she will take jobs in illustrating children’s storybooks. is best known for illustrating the character “sharky” and his adventures on land. in 2024, she held her first gallery called “the stages of eve, psyche, and the bluebeard’s wife.”

NCT HER — mostly known in korea as being a part of sm’s group, nct, she is also well known in japan for her acting. going under the stage name nct her, she debuted in 2016 as a soloist and in the units nct u, nct dream, and eventually nct 127.

THE INDIE DEVELOPER — known for popular indie horror game turned franchise "odd eye club." she's been creating video games since she was a teenager in 2016 and continued to make them even into adulthood. "odd eye club" has been turned into a multimedia story that has gained a rather strong following since its release in 2018. in 2022, she created her own game publishing company called "freight punch" in order to help other indie game developers be recognized.

THE FASHION STUDENT — originally a fashion student studying in korea. she would be offer an opportunity to study at a high-end fashion school in tokyo for two years. after she graduates, she would return to korea and start a fashion brand called 'aera's' a few years later. ateez's yeosang is often seen wearing the brand and was also named as the face of it in 2027.

THE WANNABE AUTHOR — originally came to korea to study aboard, but fell in love with the place. she would eventually move back after graduating. she has always wanted to be an author and had been working on a novel for years before it was published. while staying in korea, she worked at kq ent. as a staff member for the creative director team. around 2025, she was assigned as a lead creator for kq's girl group, rookie.

THE WEBTOONIST — creator of the popular horror webtoon 'the red sun' which is known for its gory images and monsters. she is known as a homebody and is best known for the cat head mask she wears whenever she makes public appearances to hide her identity. in 2023, she started a new isekai webtoon series titled 'idealism' which has seemingly reached the same success as her previous webtoon.

GIDLE’S DAZZLING MEMBER — a member of the popular girl group gidle. she is the group's main dancer and lead vocalist. she earned her nickname "dazzling gem" from her members as she has been noted to be basically an ace in all departments of being an idol. she is also credited for creating the dances for some of her group's songs like "oh my god," "tomboy," and "queencard."

THE PRODUCER — known more professional as "princex," she has been producing and writing music since 2015. she has been credited for a lot of popular songs in k-pop. she is mostly known for creating the song "move" by taemin which is really what helped skyrocket her career. sometime in 2019, she would sign with kq entertainment as both a producer and artist. from here she would help create a lot of ateez's songs.

The day after she left the NCT Dream practice, she found herself holed up in Ten and Kun's dorm resting her leg. She had been sat on the sofa, mulling over the events that had happened and sighed.

She regretted letting haechan's words get to her, and she hated that she had caused more injury to herself, but most of she was regretful. As she had been thinking, she realised how important all 8 members were for this comeback as it would be Mark's last one before he graduated Dream. They all needed to be together now more than before. She also felt a duty to Jaemin to make sure his first Dream comeback that wasn’t 2018 related, had all 8 members.

She had her phone in her hand and was trying to figure out what she was going to say to Donghyuck.

Haechan had been thinking all night about how he was going to apologise to Hua. He spoke to his hyungs to figure out the best way to say sorry and mend things between the two. Once he had gathered his thoughts and what he needed to help apologise, he headed to where Johnny had said Hua was.

He knocked on Kun and Ten's door apprehensively. He had a bag with a stuffed toy and a couple of other things he knew Hua liked, along with some sunflowers and supplies to help her heal quicker. Ten let him in and told him that Hua was in the living room resting.

When Haechan walked in, she was facing away from him, so he cleared his throat to let her know he was there. She looked up startled, and when she saw him , she looked away slightly before she said anything.

"Um...Hi?" She spoke awkwardly. "Do you want to sit down?"

Haechan nodded quickly and went to speak. His voice cracking as he did so.

"Yeah....yeah I would."

He sat down next to her carefully and turned so he was facing her fully. He took a couple of minutes to formulate his words before he spoke.

"First and foremost, I need to apologise. I said some extremely hurtful things, and although I wish I could go back in time and take them back, I haven't mastered time-travel yet, so that is currently impossible. I took things that you told me you were insecure about, some things that you told me in confidence and weaponised them against you, and I was wrong. The things I said couldn't have been more wrong. You are such an asset to this group, to all of us. You make the practices easier. You brighten everyone's day and most importantly you are there for every one of us. I took your kindness and moment of weakness and turned them against you, and for that, I am truly sorry.

And second, I said that we didn't need you. Totally, you were just Jaemins replacement, and you should leave. You were never Jaemjn's replacement. You added things to the group that we didn't realise we were missing, like the ideas of family time and how we as a group can do so much more together.

I know you said not to talk to you until I get injured and have to perform, does a heart injury count? As soon as Renjun hit me, I realised the mistakes that I made, and it hurt my heart when I realised I had hurt the purest person I know.

I said a lot of things that were due to frustration and tiredness. I wanted everything to be perfect, especially for Marks' last Dream comeback, and I took it out on you. I neglected to realise that you were still healing, and that once the cast came off, your ankle wasn't immediately fixed, and you would dance like normal again, so I'm sorry for that too. I'm not trying to excuse my's actions, but I want you to know that I never meant any of it.

I don't expect you to accept my apology. I won't blame you if you decide never to speak to me again. But we need you, I need you back with us for this comeback. Please come back."

By the end of his apology, Donghyuck had tears running down his face as he looked to the ground. Hua was in the same boat. She mulled over his words before wordlessly pulling him into a hug.

"I forgive you. It really hurt what you said, but understand that you didn't mean it. The hyuck I know and love would never have said something hurtful and meant it. I understand that you want this comeback to be perfect, and so do I. I want to be present for Mark's last Dream comeback. So after lunch, once I get dressed, you can take me to the practice room, and we can all practice together, yeah? Oh, and you are buying lunch."

Haechan just hugged her tighter, nodding before remembering what he brought and pulling away. Wiping his tears, he handed her the bag of goodies.

"I brought you some things you might like. I also brought you some bits to help your ankle. Let me know if it hurts or anything, and you can stop immediately. Anytime you need something, I will get it. Just say the word."

Hua just giggled and nodded, sniffling slightly and wiping her tears before frowning.

"Wait...did you say Renjun hit you?"

Hyuck winced and nodded. "It took basically everyone to get him off. Who knew someone so small had that much rage in their body. I'm okay and I know he hates me at the moment so maybe you can explain that we are friends again?"

Hua nodded and grabbed her phone, scolding the Chinese boy over text for hurting Haechan. He only responded with a frowning emoji and said that he thought Haechan deserved it after hurting Hua's feelings. Hua scolded some more before he begrudgingly agreed to apologise to Hyuck when they see each other.

Ten and Kun, who had been listening in occasionally just in case more issues arose, texted in the 2018 group to say that all conflicts had been resolved and everything was back to normal.

Hua got herself ready after Haechan and her had lunch. He had ordered her jjajangmyeon, and soon they headed to practice. Hua thanked Kun and Ten for their hospitality, and they said she could go back anytime, and the young friends went back to normal.

This would be a Slow Burn because DK, bless him, isn't a Direct Action kind of guy. the demographic: if you're like me, a writer who wants to deliver nothing but the best in writing, then nctblr isn't the right place. nobody in that fandom even cares for the quality of writing anymore, and as long as you write explicit smut for a popular member, you will instantly get "feedback"—which, by the way, is just readers fawning over the "quality" of smut more so than the actual quality of writing. i'm someone who wants to write stories, not feed a fantasy to a delusional fanbase who imagines dating/fuckign their bias. as a result, it isn't the right demographic for me simply because readers are just horny for the boys instead of idk, actually wanting to read a fic in general. you could say this for every fandom, but i don't know, nctblr in particular has a penchant for smut, which was further exacerbated when jisung turned legal. for all twenty-three to have content filled with smut and no room for actual stories definitely unmotivated me to write, and the sfw fics out there for the fandom are either reliving the glory days of 2018-2020 nctblr with the greats, or writers milking the shit out of inaccurately stupid college aus and/or overdone mafia tropes.

the community: the readers reflect the writers, and in some ways, the toxicity of nctblr's demographic blended into the influx of writers that exhibit problematic behavior. nctblr was a chalk full of drama, plagiarism, and everything that disturbs the peace. each day i check my dash and see unreasonable hate anons that seem too fake to be actual hate anons, and i feel like most nct writers save for a few ogs and some of the people i have the pleasure of calling friends and mutuals (basically the people i haven't cut ties with) are so hungry for drama that it wouldn't surprise me if a bunch of them conspirated to send each other hate anons to fill the dash with their savior complex and how "good" of a mutual they are by defending their precious "moot" from the #haterz. it's so fucking frustrating to see so much drama and self-righteous hypocrites on the dashboard who don't practice what they preach, and in a sense, if that's the majority of the community, then i want out.

the community, part two: nctblr is cliquey. that's not a surprise for sure. the majority of the people i've encountered (again, save for a few i've kept contact with to this day) are so clout hungry it's actually laughable. i remember back in @dhoya, where bigger writers or writers in general only began talking to me once i passed 500 or so, and refused to recognize me for my writing. i was mainly discovered through bigger authors reblogging my works or interacting with me, and i hated the feeling of gaining recognition not by my hard work and creations, but because i just so happened to talk to the "right people." this is a sad fact that bleeds into reality, but in a space that's supposed to facilitate escapism i find myself having to feel like i'm forcing my linkedin down employers' throats. it's so suffocating, having to get my writing out there by talking to the right people instead of having my writing speak for itself.

that being said, i wanted a fresh start from everything to facilitate a safe space where i can freely create instead of having to worry about illogical drama, problematic people, a reader base who won't even give longer works or works that aren't smut a chance, and the cliquey nature of what is supposed to be a diaspora of creative minds and inspiration. i wanted a place for me and my writing, and leaving nctblr was honestly the best decision i have ever made for my creative process. sure, i do encounter an abundance of problems with enhablr, but to actually gain recognition for my writing instead of having to network? that was what solidified the fact that maybe, just maybe, i made the right decision. i'm happy with where my blog and i am right now, and i don't think i'll ever go back to writing for nct.

1. fave fic is probs ‘between roommates’ bc y/n and jk are both a little slow

Ich interessiere mich viel für koreanische Musik. Wie ich schon am Anfang des Blogs geschrieben habe, beeinflusst auch dies meine Entscheidungen und Gedanken.

Erst mal kommt eine kleine Einführung in das Thema.

K-Pop. K steht für Koreanisch, P steht für Pop-Musik. Logisch ist dann, dass der gesungene Text auf Koreanisch ist, trotzdem stecken ein paar englische Wörter und Sätze drin. Es gibt mehrere Genre: Rap, Soul, R&B und Pop. Diese Musik ist sowas wie eine kulturelle Bewegung die das Leben der Jugend in Südkorea möglich stand beim Fluss. Die erfolgreichste südkoreanischen Boygroup BTS hat es 2018 geschafft als erste koreanische Band jemals den ersten Platz der Album Charts in den USA zu belegen.BTS ist die erste Gruppe dich kennen kennen gelernt habe und ich bin da auch froh drüber. BTS hat 2013 ihr Debüt gehabt und sind jetzt schon seit neun Jahren gemeinsam. Eine Sache, die BTS so berühmt macht, ist ihre Nachricht an die Fans, die sie Army nennen. Love Yourself. Und diese Nachricht kommt erfolgreich bei jedem Army an. Das einer der vielen Gründe, warum sie über 40 Millionen Fans haben. Sie haben so viele Lieder, und in jedem dieser Lieder ist immer eine Nachricht an Anni zu finden. Zwar sind die Nachrichten indirekt, aber wenn man sich den Text anschaut, kann man sich öfters mit ihm identifizieren. Das ist auch bei mir der Fall. Die Lieder, die ich mir für diesen Blog ausgesucht habe, sind einmal "Lost", "Path", "Love myself" und "Magic Shop".

"This is too hard, is this path right for me" ("Nan neomu euryeoun geol i giri manneunji") sowie "Because I know this path is mine to take, even if I go back, I will reach this path eventually, I will never lose my dream" ("i giri bunmyeong naui girinkka, doragado eunjenga daheul tenikka") sind aus Lost. Diese paar Zeilen verdeutlichen mir immer wieder, dass, egal was kommt, ich trotzdem auf irgendeine Art und Weise meine Träume verwirklichen kann bzw. mein Ziel erreichen kann.

"Would I have changed? If I had chosen a different path. If I had stopped and looked back. What will I get to see at the end of this road" ("nan dallajyeosseulkka dareun gireul taekhaessdamyeon, meonchwoseo dwidorabwassdamyeon, nan mwol boge doelkja i gire kkeuteseo") sind auf Path. Das hier hat die gleiche Bedeutung für mich so wie in dem Lied davor. Auch wenn ich den falschen Weg wähle, lerne ich immer wieder dazu, ich wachse aus meinen Fehlern und bin in der Lage, mich nächstes Mal besser vorzubereiten beziehungsweise nächstes Mal eine bessere Entscheidung zu wählen.

"The me from yesterday, the me from today, the meat for tomorrow" ("eojeui na oneurui na naeirui na") ist aus Love Yourself. Dieser Text sagt mir, dass, egal wie ich mich entscheide, dass ich in einer Art immer noch gleich bin. Die Person, die ich gestern war, ist auch die Person, die ich heute bin und die ich morgen sein werde. Egal, welche Entscheidung ich treffe, man lernt zwar aus den Fehlern, trotzdem bleibt man in jener Hinsicht gleich.

"When I hate being myself when I just want to disappear forever, I open one door and there I was in your heart. If you open the door and come in I'll be ready for you there. It's okay to believe, I'll comfort you Magic Shop" ("naega nain ge silh-eun nal yeong-yeong salsjogo si-peun nal, mun-eul hana mandeulja neoui mam sog-eda, geu mun-eul yeolgo deul-eogamyeon i gos-i gidalil yeoya, mid-eodp gwaenchanh-s meol wilohaejul Magic shop") ist aus Magic Shop. Nicht nur für mich ist BTS ein comfort place, also ein safe place, in dem man all seinen Sorgen freien Lauf lassen kann. Dieses Lied macht mich, auch wenn ich den Text nicht immer verstehe, wirklich sehr glücklich. Es zeigt mir, dass, wenn ich das Gefühl habe, dass niemand für mich da ist, sie trotzdem für mich da sind.

Es gibt nicht nur BTS. Exo, TXT, Enhypen, Ateez, StrayKids, Got7, SF9, Treasure, Seventeen, Tempest, P1harmony, Astro, BtoB, TNX, TheBoyz, iKon, Victon, Cravity, Pentagon, MonstaX, BigBang, NCT, Shinee, The Rose und noch viele mehr. Dies hier sind jetzt alles koreanische Boygroups. Sie entstehen beispielsweise aus einer Survival-Show. Es gibt aber auch Gruppen, die aus Mädchen bestehen. Da kenne ich auch ein paar. Black Pink, Red Velvet, Itzy, IVE, Twice, Kep1er, (G)I-DLE, Everglow, Girls Generation, Aespa und noch viele mehr. Logischerweise gibt es auch Solisten, zum Beispiel Eric Nam, IU, Hyuna, Jessi, etc. Der Hype um K-Pop wird momentan immer größer.

Es ist kein Spaziergang, ein K-Pop Idol zu werden. Zuerst ist man ein Training, man hat ein starkes strenges Training dass man über sich ergehen lassen muss, um es in die Gruppen zu schaffen. Es ist typisch in Korea, dass sich die Männer schminken. Vor allem die K-Pop Idols. Es kommen immer wieder Kommentare von den Leuten, die sich noch nie mit dem Thema befasst haben, weswegen diese dann den ganzen Hate der Fans kriegen.

Man findet am Anfang in den Gruppen seine Lieblingsperson, seinen "Bias". Der Bias repräsentiert die Person. In BTS hat mich zuerst Park Jimin sehr stark angesprochen, mit der Zeit jedoch Kim Taehyung. Irgendwann findet man in jedem Member der Gruppe einen Teil von sich wieder. Das gleiche gilt für Enhypen, TXT, StrayKids und Ateez. Man kauft die Alben der Lieblingsgruppen, sammelt ihre Photocards, Poster, Sticker und man wacht sogar um sechs Uhr in der Frühe auf, wenn sie ein Comeback haben.

ARTICLE: "NCT’s Johnny and Rue from The Romantics’ Relationship is Finally Confirmed!"

TODAY, SM AND JYP ENTERTAINMENT FINALLY CONFIRMED THAT JOHNNY (NCT) AND RUE (THE ROMANTICS) ARE DATING, AND HAVE BEEN SINCE 2018.

Rising speculations surfaced in December of 2021 at the Asia Artist Awards. The couple was seen exchanging fond glances amongst each other as The Romantics took home the Daesang for Artist of the Year, and NCT 127 was awarded Album of the Year — it was later revealed by a trespassing fansite that the two went home together that night, as well. Both companies revealed that the fansite is receiving legal punishment in response.

In a statement from JYP, the company explained that since they started dating, “Johnny has helped Rue develop more trust and confidence in herself and others, which we have known has been an issue for our artist since she joined the JYP family — it was a product of past dating & family issues that have now been handled properly.”

Fans of The Romantics have found this to be true, noting that once Rue mentioned in 2021 that she had spent the first three years of her career being afraid to give her ideas, and didn’t ever stand up for herself in moments of conflict. Many have also said that after 2019 ended, Rue gradually became more vocal and vibrant in personality, so the development of this relationship aligning with this period of time finally gives a potential answer.

Though both artists have asked for privacy, they decided to treat the fans by taking to Instagram not long after the statements were released — sharing a piece of their world with Nctzens and Sweethearts!

Johnny posted a candid photo of him and Rue in the winter with matching sweatshirts (left) — the caption read "winter is warmer with ru- i mean u."
