Autistic aroace genderqueer writer culture is making all your characters aroace nd/autistic and/or genderqueer/trans. Whether by accident or not, they all end up that way lol.

aphobia in fandom can look like (all of the below are things ive seen):
villainising characters who reject romantic advances
reading aro characters as "psychopaths/evil" because of their aroness
reading ace characters as "childlike/immature" because of their aceness
generally the pathologisation of characters because of their aspec-ness, as well as demonisation of certain mental illnesses and nd-ness, which tbh could be a whole other post on its own
statements like "it would be sad if x character wasn't in a romantic relationship though" as a way of shutting down reading a character as aro (also seen said about canon aro rep)
aroness and aceness -- especially repulsed aroness and aceness -- is more "boring" than alloness
generally romance and sex (most often read together) as a way of "humanising" a character
generally seeing romantic relationships as the main happy ending for character dynamics, and any individual characters who aren't in a romantic relationship are worse off (pair the spares, but this time let's make it progressive)
(Only Monogamy freespace/overlap with bi/pan-erasure and polyamory erasure)
ignoring opposite gender dynamics that are well-fleshed-out in favour of same-gender dynamics that aren't, because that's "more queer" (read: hotter, but only for guys) (overlapping heavily with erasing women in narratives in favour of two guys that exchange 3 words with one another, and also bi/pan-erasure)
going real hard on "aromantic people can still date"/"asexual people can still have sex" especially around characters who have not been shown to do one or the other or either
in addition to previous point, these statements coupled with a clear lack of research in aspec terminology/theory/politics -- bonus points for using these talking points at irl aspec people who do know what they're talking about
getting angry at aspec people for "ruining the fun" when they point out that it's hard to be aspec in fandom/engage with aspec character reads in fandom/feeling alienated by fandom
good old classic regurgitated "this aspec person said it was okay for me to do this, so..."
good old classic regurgitated "these aspec people are normal, and these ones aren't, im only going to respect the opinions of the aspec people who "let" me do exactly what ive been doing the whole time, and im going to discount/mock/bully out of fandom the ones who don't"
convenient "it's not that deep" arguments only counting when it's aspec rep, ignoring many years of "representation matters" for other marginalised identities
comparing aspec identities to straightness, often in the framework of "headcanoning straight (aspec) characters as queer (not aspec -- and usually not bi or pan either)"
pushing smut at irl asexual repulsed people as "revenge" for them expressing discomfort (especially about characters who are popularly seen as asexual or are even canonically asexual) + "joking" about shipping even harder and creating more hardcore smut specifically in reaction to aspec people who don't want to see it
accusations of queerbaiting when characters are written to be aspec and/or ambiguously aspec
conflating bullshit "anti" purity culture with all of the above, either co-opting aspec people into wank (similarly to ace people being co-opted to "argue" for no kink at pride), or accusing irl aspec people who feel alienated of being prudes/antis/sex-shaming <- this also conveniently trotted out right after a "it's not that deep" argument. it's only not-that-deep when it's about getting to have fun without thinking about others, and it gets deep when that fun cannot be enjoyed thoughtlessly

I'm gonna get flamed for this (by *that* community) if I don't go anon
But I think aroace characters should just be aroace until they actually canonically SHOW INTEREST in another character
like if they knew they weren't completely aroace and just arospec they'd have a crisis but probably not know how to handle love 'normally' (LOOKING AT THOSE FUCKERS YEAH I SEE YOU) and do it in their own way because of their perception of love is different from well. Mostly everyone else's?
if they were truly aroace their world would be flipped like Jesus christ is this a crush??? Like it could just be an obsession because they don't have the normal Frame of reference everyone else has. It's even worse if the character is ND, because now they really can't tell if so and so is their friend, crush or whatever the fuck
this is to say I'm trying to learn aro culture and if I got anything wrong here PLEASE correct me
I'm not aroace myself but I'm pissed that some of the only rep you guys have is just... washed down the drain by the community
THIS!! I personally don't experience ANY sexual or romantic attraction, however I've spent years of my life talking to other aromantics and asexuals who DO occasionally experience these things so that I can understand my community and it's a BIG DEAL for them!!
When they start to experience this attraction they're usually uncouth in the way they go about accepting and acting on those feelings! And even more of the time they presume they're feeling attraction when in reality it was idolisation or platonic infatuation!
Drawing an aroace character in a sexual or romantic interaction with a character they've shown very little to no interest in and just sticking "I know they're aroace, but aroace people can do this too, don't be ignorant" in your captions doesn't make it alright for you to erase their identity.
I'm sick of people acting like its impossible for a character to not have sex and not be in a relationship!! Like they're not "whole" without someone else!!!

Hi hello, Ace-Aro person here: please stop talking over us and infantilizing us.
If I see one more take about how you need to keep fandom clean because "we need to protect the asexuals" I'll riot. Here's the thing, some ace people are uncomfortable with nsfw. So are some alosexual people. That's why it's important to tag things accordingly so other people can manage their experience. That has nothing to do with being ace though.
I think people conflate asexual with sex repulsed and then further conflate lack of sex with being a child. I'm 26, even if sex made me uncomfortable I can voice it myself as a grown woman. You don't need to "protect me".
The protection narrative is very puritanical christian culture. I can keep myself safe, thank you very much, you don't need to wage holy war on boobs in my name. In fact, I am fighting the crusade on the side of the boobs.
A lot of ace people are very pro sex so long as it doesn't involve us. Some actually do have sex, lack of attraction doesn't mean lack of libido.
When you see ace people, survivors of sa, neurodivergent people or even minors as "poor sweet things that need to be protected" instead of actual people, that's when you drink the purity culture Kool aid. If you're old enough to be on social media you're old enough to use the tools at your disposal to filter the content you see. We don't need anyone harassing others in our name.
We should teach people how to use these tools instead of forcing everyone to act PG 13 (which is what the advertisers want you to do btw). Also, consider how it makes us feel when you speak over us saying that ace/ND/sa survivors are uncomfortable with sex when a lot os us aren't. Hell, purity culture has been proven to be very damaging for the minors it was meant to protect (lack of sex Ed, repression and feelings of guilt make you easier to groom too). Kiddifying the internet is harmful even for the minors.
So please, next time you read about how we need to make fandom "safer for ace people" I want you to remember that statistically speaking a lot of the nsfw artists you're harassing are ace. Tag things, block words, keep yourself safe and let others live.
But, most of all: stop making generalizations about communities (even if you're in them) to justify your censorship.

Mspec culture is assuming the term is "multi spectrum" and taking it too literal - A SYSTEM host with multiple genders on multiple spectrums (autism, aro, ace and mspec)
oh lord when one's ND, autistic, aspec, AND mspec...

Nerodivergent aroallo culture is being incredibly confused as you figure out what you are feeling is in fact not romantic and what the people around you are feeling is infact romantic

Voidpunk
Voidpunk is a subculture for those who often feel rejected or disconnected from humanity. This is popular within aromantic spectrum and asexual spectrum communities but also includes groups such as neurodivergent people, disabled people, non-binary people, people of color, and other groups that are frequently dehumanized or called "subhuman" by society. Voidpunk is based on embracing the idea of being "not human". While some people within these marginalized groups seek to prove their humanity to their oppressors, voidpunk instead recognizes that these oppressors are bigoted and taunts them by saying "Maybe I am not human up to society's standards. What about it?"
Voidpunk has no one aesthetic or style but often includes relating to, or comparing oneself to non-human creatures such as aliens, robots, ghosts, or other monsters. Many people participating in voidpunk culture make "voidsonas"- an non-human original character that is typically a persona for the creator, often being a metaphor for the creator's own experiences with systemic dehumanization.
History
The concept of voidpunk was created by Tumblr user @arotaro on February 18, 2018, but the name came from the user @milkchocolateowl [1]. Voidpunk was officially defined on September 2, 2018[2].
Flag
The voidpunk flag was designed by the user @honteuzaikonfu on October 28, 2018[3]. Purple represents asexual people and non-binary people. Green represents aromantic people and neurodivergent people. The black circle represents a black hole, symbolizing the void as well as a lack of humanity. White represents the unity of the many communities under the voidpunk subculture.

the BIGGEST mood tbh
