I have a lot going on at the moment. Ossan's Love return seems like the perfect thing to give me something to look forward to. Especially now that Kinou nani tabeta has ended. So thank you for subbing it! What threw me off when I saw the first gif sets was that I couldn't remember why the actor for Maki looked so familiar. I looked it up and he also was part of Nee-chan no Koibito, which I really loved. Have you watched that drama?
I'm happy to share!! I was a bit bummed when Kinou nani tabeta ended but OL has more than filled the void. I haven't seen Nee-chan no koibito but I've seen a few of Hayashi Kento's other dramas and he's a really good actor. There's a lot of bl these days and it's sort of become this genre for new actors looking for more opportunities beyond Kamen rider, so what's really great about both Kinou nani tabeta and OL is how the actors are all seasoned drama actors who didn't need this role to become popular. Iura Arata who plays Izumi is actually one of my favourite actors and been doing movies for 25 years!!

day 1 – first drama completed in 2021.
After binged about 7 jmovies, I finally gave in to watching Nee-chan no Koibito
As someone who disfavors romance-centered genre as myself, I'd have to say this show is quite an exception. This drama focuses more on healing and building healthy relationships, not only with other people but also with self.
The story sets off with a female lead who shoulders the responsibilities of "man of the house"— taking care of her younger brothers ever since they lost their parents to a horrible tragedy and not to forget the male lead who lives with his mother— still recovering from a mysterious past traumatic experience. Fate bumped these two together and they soon become attracted to one another. Regardless of their traumas, they tried to understand and trust each other— leading the journey to a healthful romantic relationship.
All in all, I'd say this drama is worthwhile and kinda glad that I tried it out. It gave me a whole new experience and the sceneries were very aesthetical pleasing too! And for some reason it made me want to work in a department store xD their working relationship with the colleagues and boss is sooo non-toxic (how i wish this is more common in real life too :'D)
If I have to rate it, I'd give a 7/10. Definitely not a bad show, but not the best either. You can see several cringe-moments with the casts' acting. I mean, I don't blame them since there are several new faces. But they could've gotten higher ratings if they make some improvements here and there.

「 Hyuga Wataru : A Fan Guide 」
Hello!
It is my first time in writing a fan guide and to be honest I have been contemplating on writing about it because he is merely a newbie but what made me write about him is the sole fact that he is gaining quite an attention at the tokusatsu community with his role as the main character's younger brother.
His acting in the tokusatsu drama, Kamen Rider Revice made me follow this newbie and dug a little about him so here I am writing basic introduction for this new kid. :)
Now, let's dive in to the basics.
INTRODUCTION
Name: Kajihara Hyuga ( 鍛治原日向 // かじはら ひゅうが )
Stage Name: Hyuga Wataru ( 日向亘 // ひゅうが わたる ))
Date of Birth: 18th of March 2004
Birthplace: Gunma PrefectureHeight: 180cm
Talent Agency: Horipro
Agency Profile: https://www.horipro.co.jp/hyugawataru/
SNS accounts: hyuga_wataru (twitter and instagram)
Hyuga Wataru (real name: Kajihara Hyuga) was born on 18th of March 2004 hailing from Gunma Prefecture. He is skilled in sports (baseball, volleyball and table tennis) and was said that he belonged to the volleyball club. His skill is playing the Rubik's cube and hobbies include cycling, doing DIY and watching anime.
In 2019, he was hailed as grand prix from a total of 6468 applicants in MEN'S STAR AUDITION held by the talent agency, HORIPRO.
His mother and older sister applied for the said audition for the then 14 year old Kajihara. On his first interview feature on the magazine Wink Up (2019 March issue), Kajihara mentioned that he was asked by his mother and older sister if they can take a photo of him and sent the audition form on his behalf. Thus he is not confident on taking the audition to become an actor at first.
"I will do my best not to disappoint everyone's expectations." said Kajihara when he was announced as the grand prix.
Since he is a new kid on the block, not many people knew that the name Hyuga Wataru is just a stage name. It is a name given by his agency, Horipro.
The reason for the name given to him was the Kanji for Wataru ( 亘 ) includes the idea that they wanted him to play an active role in many situations and become known to many people.
"It was a strange feeling that I would be another person, but at the same time, I was prepared to do my best with this name." said Kajihara.
HIS WORKS
As part of the audition prize, the person who will be hailed as grand prix will have an exclusive contract with Horipro and be a part of Fujiwara Tatsuya's new movie and drama, "Taiyou wa Ugokanai". In the movie/series he portrayed the young counterpart of Fujiwara's role, Takano Kazuhiko.
October 2020, he appeared in the drama series "Nee-chan no Koibito" as Adachi Yuki, Kasumi Arimura's younger brother.
Currently he is taking part of the tokusatsu series, Kamen Rider Revice as the main character's younger brother, Igarashi Daiji. He gained attention and quite a following to the tokusatsu community with his physique and manly look.
Since he is a newbie who have debuted last year (2020) there are still a few on his list so he is one easy guy to follow or look out for. ;)
Look out for him more on Kamen Rider Revice, I believe that this kid won't fail your expectations!

Here are some drama shows I’ve added to my rotation since last time:
Nee-chan No Koibito
35sai No Shojo
Takane No Hana
I just started Nee-chan No Koibito last night, and from the first episode, it seems like the kind of cheesy rom-com I love, so I’m definitely going to play catch up with the series these next few days.
35sai No Shojo, I was recommended here. I was kind of unsure at first, but it really started picking up after the third episode or so (usually how dramas work). I’m all caught up now, and I feel like the peak of every character’s misery just hit so I’m interested to see how it’s all going to resolve. I don’t think I’ll get the scene with a belligerently drunk Ai Hashimoto singing “Nanpasen” in front of her ex-boyfriend’s apartment -- and then immediately throwing up -- out of my head for a while.
Takane No Hana is an older one from 2015. I picked it up after seeing Satomi Ishihara in Unsung Cinderella, which I liked. (There is also Kyoko Yoshine and... Kazunobu Mineta of Ging Nang Boyz, who I forget all the time has an acting career too.) I’ve been off and on until recently when it started picking up after, again, like the third episode or so. I’m on episode five now, I think, but I’m going to put it on hold for a bit because I can sense that the happy relationship is about to crumble and I’m not sure if I am emotionally ready to face that.
I’m still watching and enjoying Koi Ata and RemoLove. I’ve not continued watching Kindan No Venus after the first, and I am probably not going to pick it up again.

Kurayami ni Strobe
Life, Love (okay listen this one! i did enjoy this one How. Ever. it’s a story where a seemingly not so smart man is made to guard the man that he and his boss kidnapped, and then they maybe??? fall in love over the course of the kidnapping and that’s the first half of the story, and the relationships are very weird and complex and the characters are also weird and complex? and it’s very unsatisfying as a romance but still somehow satisfying? except the ending which left me just shocked laughing like ‘that’s it?????’ and i’m still not sure how i feel about it but i’m pretty sure i liked it and yeah disclaimer over)
Link: Boku to Kimi no Aida
Lotus Eater
Lucky Number 13(okay no this one is so sweet and cute, a huge baseball otaku falls for a boy who is plagued with bad luck unless he’s dating someone, in which case his bad luck transfers to his partner, they’re such a pure couple and it’s a very sweet and funny story and I love it)

The Mainichi Seiten Series; Mainichi Seiten, Kodomo wa Tomaranai, Children’s Time, Kodomo no Iibun, Aki-chan no Iibun, Isoganaide, Hanaya no Nikai de(very very slice of life, three couples in all, the first volume is kind of slow and the art is kinda rough and the couple is very chaste but still cute and the art gets better through the series, and the other two relationships are top tier and overall this series is one of my absolute favorites)

day 3 – favourite actor discovered in 2021
Discovered this sweetie pie when I started watching Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi .
It is a very heartwarming drama— definitely my cup of tea !
Kawahara Eito played a child who spared no effort in living by himself. He stood his grounds on being brave, strong and not dependable on anyone.
But looking at how harsh he is acting upon himself, soon other characters in the drama start to get involved in his life, trying to help him out— and of course, with respect of his boundaries and stances.
I am person who reaallyyy adores family/friends-bonding stories so i definitely rated this a 💜 (9.0/10). Not to forget, Kawahara Eito's acting was also— *chef's kiss* superbb
bonus section ⭐
now, i didn't actually find this actor just in 2021. i've known him waayy back when i first discovered jdramas
but for some reason, he is the actor i paid more heed to this year— also the reason i watched Nee-chan no Koibito
just adoring this fine man with his superbb acting skills ~_~
