It’s done! It’s done it’s done it’s done! I’m so excited! In case you don’t recognize the character, this is the main character from the game Tunic! It’s a great game, I loved watching my friend play it (I’ll never play it because dear everything some of those puzzles tho), so I decided to make this for my friend’s birthday! So awhile back I bought these Aida cloth canvas' that were at Michaels. I of course forget them and have really gotten into embroidery in the mean time. I need to create a gift for someone close to me and figured oh I'd use these canvas'. I have a couple of questions one I know you can embroidery on nearly anything but how much of a pain is it on 14 ct aida? Has anyone stitched on these canvas pieces and can I see them please? I know I need smaller designs and I don't mind going back to cross stitch but having a hard time envisioning how small I need to go since it is already stretched onto the frame for me.

Assembled from strips of lace, a doily, and some fiddly needle lace and crochet for the teeth. Starched with diluted wood glue.

Embroidery/cross stitch/similar needle arts Tip:

If you're embroidering and need to draw outlines on the fabric, but regular pencil does not show up very well on the fabric - use a glass-marking pencil or even a color pencil! ((Images of glass marking pencil vs. 3H drawing pencil - bc 2HB is even lighter vs. White and blue color pencil - on a medium wash light denim fabric)

This is the glass marking pencil(white, these are also in some other colors but I had only found white ones in stores)

And we have a comparison with the 3H pencil - the 3H pencil line is hardly visible on this fabric.

Finally, since I was curious about whether regular color pencils work, I tried a white color pencil and blue one, both of which worked pretty well(and yes they do also erase)
