It’s them! I’d been itching to draw a full family set and this was a fun group to experiment with!

I wanted Rootspring/Needleclaw to share more traits with /both/ parents, hopefully that came across. Tree’s allegedly (according to Warriors wiki) a “small” tom, but I wanted to give the family tall Moonlight genes so I’m ignoring it (while Violetshine I consider to be slightly smaller than avg). Needleclaw also inherits Moonlight’s eye colour.

this got me thinking because i remember seeing thriftear/needleclaw back in the day and thinking it was cute but then i started making connections with other characters and this single ask has created a beautiful hinge polycule situation that i like a lot

here's a diagram of how things operate in this little world. imagine the amount of warriors family tree searching i had to do to work this out given that theres 3 thunderclan cats in here. but its ok. it all worked out. love wins

More Needlebloom au! If Needletail had lived, I am POSITIVE she woulda been a cool aunt figure to Violetshine’s foals, so I wanted to draw the three of them interacting :)

Needlebloom ADORES her niece and nephew. She encourages Rootfoal to come out of his shell, and she may or may not get up to shenanigans with little Pinefoal, who was not only named after her, but also has the same penchant for mischief (they’re both pegasi too, so Needlebloom helps teach her how to fly)

Despite being closer to Pinefoal at first, Needlebloom asks to apprentice Rootfoal, over time becoming his closest confidant and a vocal supporter of his relationship with Bristlefrost

tbh every sister (spark, needle, finch) should have gotten their brothers POV spot and arc lol. sparkpelt actually has an interesting personality that stays consistent through out the books (aldesrheart goes from total anxiety attacks to just. chill. hrm) and seeing her deal w/ skyclan, twigbranch, and all the other fun AVOS stuff would have been increasingly more interesting giving her personality. needleclaw having her brothers powers would have made for an interesting story especially since female sisters can’t see ghosts. it would make needleclaw having rootspring’s fear and anger at seeing bramblestar’s ghost more understandable given she isn’t supposed to have this power and would be much less grating to read. finchlight has literal ORANGE on her coat and has a more uplifting personality that doesn’t just scream “i’m a victim no matter what” like her brother. would have been much more interesting to see finchlight struggling under the weight of the expectations by her clan-mates and see her bond with her mother over it. given her nice personality it gives us a kind of fresh look since we don’t have really any characters who are forcibly nice when dealing with their own mental turmoil. it’s just hmmm alder, root, and flame all just suck and their sisters are always so much cooler no matter what

A Starless Clan: an idea!

I saw a post the other day saying something about Wind and how WindClan probably won't be important. So, I got to thinking..

I could have protags in every Clan! Now, It would get difficult but, how it might work: The book with the Clan name (ex. River) will have a RiverClan protag throughout the whole book. The protags from the other Clans will still be important characters and will be shown many times!

Possible protags for the books:

RiverClan -> Frostpaw

ThunderClan -> Nightheart

WindClan -> Whistlepaw

ShadowClan -> Spireclaw or Sunbeam

SkyClan -> Needleclaw?

Now of course that's just possible options, I'm gonna make OCs and they might take some of those cats places!

Two more ideas I thought of:

This arc will be more that six books, I don't know how long I'll make it at the moment. I feel like this arc shouldn't be wrapped up so quickly, maybe ten books? I might also do the same with other arcs, make them longer or shorter!

2. After the defeat of Splashtail, RiverClan is left leaderless yet again. No cat really steps up, so Mothwing does! Mothwing becomes leader!
