The Next Generation

In honor of Moon 100, here's a drawing I made of all of the founders' children! Thank you so much for all the likes and support you've been giving this blog. I'm so glad that there are other people out there who are attached to these cats!

Anyways, here are the characters, from top to bottom and left to right:

Top Row: Chervilcry, Stonefreckle, Needlekit, and Frostkit

Second Row: Graypaw and Flurrypelt (Yes, their poses are supposed to mirror Stormrush and Bushmask's in the founders art post I made)

Third Row: Shardfrost, Yuccastar (willow), and Mountainpaw (I drew Mountainpaw how he looked in my head)

Bottom Row: Peakspots, Rosemaryquake, and Antlersky (I drew Rosemaryquake and Antlersky pretty young-they're more like Rosemarypaw and Antlerpaw here).

I have a couple more short stories in the works about some of these characters, so that will probably be the next non moon/sprite related thing you see.

This girl's been needing an updated sheet for a while since I gave her a new design for the AVOS design challenge, and now I've finally gotten around to it. So here's the new and improved Needletail!

You can find the reverse side of her design here.

For her physical description, Needletail is described a a sleek, lithe she-cat with a long body, a thick tail, and a small nose. I went with longer, spiky fur for her this time, which I think fits her name really well, and it gives her that sort of wild appearance that suits her personality and story. She's got her father's skinny build and long body and her mother's shorter smaller stature (sort of the inverse of Sunbeam actually).

For her pattern, Needletail is described as a silver-gray she-cat with white chest fur, a gray nose, and green eyes. I basically just used the patter and colors I gave her in the AVOS challenge, and I think it's a really good look on her.

Overall, I'm really happy with how she turned out.

Up next is my updated adult design for Needleclaw.

Needleclaw has no physical description given other than her pattern, so I came up with my own for her. I gave up on my "Needleclaw is Sister-level massive" headcanon, since I feel like that would've been mentioned by now if that was the case, especially after Needleclaw met the Sisters herself. But while she's no longer as massive as a Sister, she is still quite a tall and muscular cat. She's taller than Rootspring by a bit, but not as broad as him. I used this image as a reference. She has a bit of that larger Maine Coon muzzle from the Sisters, but not too much. She has some scars from the battles she's seen.

For her pattern, Needleclaw is described as a black-and-white she-cat with a black chest and bright eyes. I dunno why, but I've always seen her as a mostly-black tuxedo sort of cat, unlike her more splotchy mother. I had an interesting time trying to incorporate that black chest, but I think I succeeded pretty well. Minus the face markings, she's symmetrical on both sides. I tried to keep a bit of her mom in there with the nose and chin markings. She has no canon eye color, so I gave her her dad's shade of amber eyes.

Overall, I'm really happy with how she turned out.
