At some point, Eddie excuses himself to go get another drink. When he takes a little too long to come back, Buck cranes his head to try and get a glimpse, and—oh. Eddie is talking to someone. A guy. Buck can’t really make him out, except that he’s tall and broad-shouldered. And he has a hand on Eddie’s arm. He’s flirting with him. The desire to stride up to them and knock that jerk’s hand off of Eddie’s is so powerful that Buck surprises himself with it. Eddie comes back to join them just as Hen and Karen stumble off stage, to raucous applause. Chim gives a wolf-whistle. “Don’t think we didn’t notice that, Diaz,” he says, and Eddie flushes. Buck feels uncomfortably hot under his collar. “Who was that guy? Was he flirting with you?” “Maybe,” Eddie says, evasively, and Chim makes a booing noise. “You’re no fun. I hope you got his number, at least, he looked hot.” “Need I remind you that you’re engaged?” Eddie asks, drily. Chim shrugs. “Doesn’t mean I don’t have eyes.” Buck tries to tune out of the conversation, so he doesn’t say something he’ll regret. What he really wants to say is, that it wouldn’t even matter if that guy gave Eddie his number, because Eddie is straight. Isn’t he?

I have *several* of your lovely, lovely gifsets coming up on Sunday! I feel like I said in my post that I'd do at least 3 but I cannot help myself from doing more when such AMAZINGLY TALENTED PEOPLE send me their tags!

My compliment to you is: I think you are genuinely one of the most talented gif makers I've ever seen, especially when it comes to adding color to a gif. You pick such vibrant shades and they are just so masterfully done - I feel like the color enhances the emotion of the gif, and doesn't overwhelm it. Also I've looked through some of your tutorials before, and I KNOW adding multiple scenes to a gif is NOT EASY but you do it so well, AND you have such an artistic eye for it too. Also I really admire your ability to speak your mind. You are always so eloquent about it, and I always think you have such intelligent takes!

i would like to report a crime

I am, in fact, at all times trying to make you cry with my tags, arah 🤭🤺 (that's why we are angst-buddies xD <3)

(the tags are mine from this beautiful gifset by neethu about the parallel of eddie and buck walking next to each other in 2x04 'Stuck' and 5x14 'Dumb Luck')

and it's just, I can't fucking stop thinking about this parallel, okay? (if it helps, writing these tags absolutely also made ME cry xDD) it's just so good??!! like 'Stuck' is The Blueprint for Buck choosing to step into it with Eddie and without really being told understanding and knowing what kind of help Eddie needs and it feels a little like we are on the other end of that journey of stepping in more and more and making his home there with 'Dumb Luck', like he is fully settled into it now (both with the taking care of Eddie and Chris but also this scene specifically with knowing exactly what Eddie needs to get better) really the only step to step into it even more that is left at this point is him marrying Eddie and making it official and on paper, but aside from that he has fully established himself as having stepped into Eddie's mess and life and EVERYTHING and being there to stay and it isn't even something he has to think about, it's right where he belongs <3

yeah I am feeling very feral about how they did this callback to 'Stuck' of all episodes with this one, it makes me so happy <3
