CANDY (2006) Grade: C+

It's a harsh realistic film on heroin. My only gripe about it was a too long. However, you could see the early brilliance of Heath Ledger. The ending was strong.

“Once upon a time, there was Candy and Dan. Things were very hot that year. All the wax was melting in the trees. He would climb balconies, climb everywhere, do anything for her, oh Danny boy. Zur Abwechslung mal Hamlet. 5 Jahre nach unserem letztem Versuch, Brett Deans todesmutige Oper im Kino zu sehen  (vgl. hier) ist es uns schließlich gelungen. Diesmal für uns (oder in diesem Falle: mich) praktisch im heimischen Kino, dafür technisch wahrscheinlich aufwändiger live aus der MET. Sie ist wirklich toll. Wir haben sie schon sogar in der wackligen Online-Variante, die wir dann schließlich sahen, gepriesen, aber so ist es natürlich noch viel schöner.
