It works, somewhat; his initial answers are all short, but he eventually starts explaining cross-pollination and other aspects of gardening

Turns out he knows a LOT, which doesn’t surprise Molly

After a bit, Howie asks why Molly is asking so many questions. She just replies with “because I want to get to know you better!”

But of course, she never pushes subjects he doesn’t want to talk about, so he allows it

He starts taking her with him when he does repairs around the house so that he can teach her how to take care of things. Sometimes when he does, he talks about various things and she just listens

i recently made a post about all the dahlias in jatp (almost), and there's a lot of symobolism with caleb's club. all the lifers there wear ALIVE dahlias, the dancers (at least male dancers) have dahlia pins, plus willie. Caleb, on the other hand, has a bedazzled black dahlia made up of jewels/diamonds. Thoughts?

I didn't notice that Willie wore a Dalilah pin!! Another reason for me to rewatch 😊

Also during the victorian era, dalilahs' were meant to represent lifelong companionship so maybe dalilahs' are a symbol of Caleb's ownership over them.
