5. What activities do they enjoy together?

Ok but on a more serious note I think that most of the activities they enjoy together would be indoors, like gaming or watching a TV show or movie together (especially while cuddling). But Natsuo is also a bit of an adventurous spirit who would suggest going to a nearby event/aquarium/museum/art gallery on occasion and Shigaraki wouldn’t be too fond of the idea (because ew crowds and people) but he’d be down for it anyway because 1. Natsuo would be happy and 2. he gets to spend time with Natsuo and that’s what matters.

6. What is/are their love language(s)?

Ok so I feel like the one Natsuo is more prone expressing is acts of service, due to an ingrained mindset that he has to be useful in order to be loved thanks Endeavor. But the one that means the most to him would probably be words of affirmation, because that’s something he’s rarely gotten throughout his life. And Shigaraki is a blunt and honest person so Natsuo knows that whenever he says nice things about him, he means it.

Shigaraki’s is basically “anything that AFO hasn’t used as a tool to groom him” (so NOT words of affirmation or receiving gifts), but the top contender would definitely be physical touch. Like have you ever seen a more touch-starved character?? Once he gets it in his head that touching Natsuo is safe and Natsuo is more than willing to casually touch him in return, he would be all for it.

R S and T?

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

Oooh, now this is an interesting question! I think I have different inspirations according to the genre I'm writing. Some fanfic writers I consider an influence are GC4life, whose work has really helped me figure out a balance between plot and character in longfics, and Aphrodaisyacs, who has hugely shaped my portrayals of villain characters, particularly BNHA ones, and with tone-balancing in fics that are a mix of humour and angst.

For published authors, I would definitely say Rick Riordan has influenced my internal dialogue writing, particularly in terms of humour, and I can give credit to Leigh Bardugo for helping me conceptualise how to introduce and flesh out fantasy worlds, and meld worldbuilding in so it feels natural.

S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?

Oh BOY, *rubs hands together* for BNHA there are a lot, whether it's the LOV as family, todofam angst or any amount of deep dives into pro heroics and the society. They're all so good. I want more of all of them.

Speaking more generally, I adore time travel, arranged marriage and well executed enemies to lovers fics. I'm always a slut for a fantasy au too!

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

I'm not a fan of any trope that gives a character an unbelievably exaggerated sad backstory. ESPECIALLY if there is a character in canon with similar trauma who gets ignored or portrayed as the one who is 'suffering less'. I'm talking about the stories where a kid loses the people they love, and gets abused by everyone in their life, and is homeless, and gets bullied, and on and on and ON. I really dislike it, because it feels like you're playing a game of trauma-jenga, stacking it as high as you can just for the fun of it.

The main reason I dislike it is because it feels cheapening. Authors who write those fics usually don't do research and don't explore that trauma in a complex way or even try to go in-depth about half the things involved. They do it so they can have an uwu sad character. It grates on me a lot.

Perhaps one of my most hated iterations of this is the 'abusive Mitsuki' trope in BNHA. Don't bring it anywhere close because it's annoying to me. Especially because fics with that trope tend to ignore or lighten the impact of the canonical and systemic abuse suffered by Todoroki. Like oh yeah, you're canonically a traumatised abuse victim but hush, my fake ultra-horrible backstory for this other character is more important.

No hate to anyone who writes it, of course, people can write what they want, but I hate fics like that with a passion. No clue why, I just do.

Oh! That's a really recent one! I'm glad that scene ended up being memorable though. It popped into my own head out of nowhere and wouldn't leave, which was why I had to write that fic in the first place. So I'm glad I was able to capture that feeling for readers too!

I think I have too many WIPs atm that it's... kinda hard to pick a fave LMAO. but the three that I'm most focused on atm are the two fics that I have planned for royai week and the college au :^)

a study in reformation aka the college au

so like. I think this originally started out as a HS au which I wrote last year but never posted because I was too embarrassed (to be perceived) LOL but I rewrote the first draft entirely and thought, hey, this could actually turn out pretty fun, esp after brainstorming with @chewytran :^)

I think I had some trouble with characterisations initially because we're so accustomed to seeing roy & riza as two war criminals who are just drowning in guilt and their past sins, and their participation in a genocide has no doubt played a crucial role in shaping them into whom we know (and project ourselves on). striking the balance between who they are, without all of that, while still retaining their core traits e.g. riza as a workaholic, ed as an angry child, them bonding over daddy issuesTM, and also roy as a scum of the earth and a pain in the ass, was def a bit of a challenge but I had a lot of fun brainstorming about that and developing the budding r0mance!!

I'm super excited for what's to come and for when the slow burn finally turns into an inferno... but in the meantime I have disabled myself with the slow burn tag so. it'll be a while I reckon. (also roy really needs to work on redeeming himself bcs he's trash)

royai week

I originally had two one-shots planned (no prizes for which prompts stood out to me LMAO) but one of them is steadily spiralling out of control... anyway. I'm real excited for that one because it's been a while since I've delved so deeply into roy's head :') it's probs gonna be a character study filled with gratuitous overuse of chess metaphors LMAO. the other fic is ofc inspired by taytay's genius MWAH!!!

I've also finished a song and am in the midst of recording it... and trying to finish another but we'll see if work decides to pull one on me :')

You really driving up a hard bargain here huh

Physical:

1. My lashes are long enough that people ask me if they are actually natural, which is especially nice considering I used to have bad eczema around my eyes and it made my eyelashes look short, to the point that some people asked me if I cut my lashes.

2. My hair is thick and healthy

3. I’m under 5 feet tall, which yes, does make me angry sometimes, but at least I am slightly ~uniquely~ short (at least in this country)

Non-physical:

1. I have a nice singing voice, with a relatively wide range

2. I am very empathetic

3. I can bake pretty well

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this one on tumblr before but I have one where the Todosiblings are left with only each other for company at their house when suddenly a group of villains (the LoV) break in and the three of them are forced to hide and pretend that nobody’s home lest they get killed. But they get sick of hiding when it becomes apparent that the LoV seem to be settling into the home, so they start pranking them behind the scenes to drive them out.

But then things take a turn when they find out that Dabi is Touya and. Well :) Let’s just say that they are in for a huge surprise :)

O: How do you begin a story–with the plot, or the characters?

Plot lol, I usually don’t get the creative juices flowing until I have a solid trope or premise as a starting point, then I just build the story around it.
