I just watched the Netflix kdrama Little Women and I haven't stopped thinking about how true it stays to its title.

Everything worth mentioning in the show is set in motion by women.

Won Sang-ah and Hwa-young and In-joo and In-kyung and In-hye are the people the show is about.

The men in the show are either in supporting roles to the women, or killed in order to appease the women or not even around (In Joo's father) or in a coma or in a psychiatric hospital.

One might think that, in a show that revolves around money, the patriarchy would take the spotlight and yet here is a show, entirely run by women. In which women are controlling and murderous, in which women want money, not in a way that is innocent or soft, but in the same way society allows men to want money, in which women are just and fair, in which women put themselves first, in which women love their friends so much it changes their lives, in which women make narratives and sit back and watch things unfold.

In which women are rich and poor at the same time.

In which women are little and not little, at the same time.

Campaigning for Lockwood & Co:

Prepare the kit bags and oil the iron chains Lock Nation. We aren’t done with this case yet.

I thought I’d compile a list of methods to voice our displeasure with Netflix’s recent decision for those of us who want to engage in saving the show.

The only string of hope I am holding onto right now is that Netflix was not the production company for the show, and as such Complete Fiction may hold more weight in its future than the former. Whilst Netflix doesn’t have a history of passing over cancelled shows to other platforms, that doesn’t mean it has never happened at all. “Uncoupled” recently got renewed by Showtime after being binned by Netflix. It’s not outside possibility.

We need to use streamlined hashtags to accompany posts on Netflix’s socials, on fan edits, and fan art; #bringbacklockwoodandco and #savelockwoodandco seem like good options to start with.

You can seek out the feedback options on Netflix’s online homepage to express your dissatisfaction.

Commenting on all of Netflix’s socials. And I mean all. For instance on Instagram alone we have Netflix US, Netflix UK, Netflix Geeked, Netflix ANZ, Netflix Brazil, Netflix Italia, Netflix Deutschland, Netflix Espana, Netflix France, Netflix KR, Netflix Queue and many more. As always I implore people to be passionate but POLITE AND RESPECTFUL. I know we are all upset, but let’s maintain composure whilst we voice our complaints. To further elaborate on this, our commenting needs to be sustained over a month at the very minimum for maximum impact.

Engage with other potential future streaming platforms. Disney+ isn’t worth our time as they have already announced massive cuts to productions due to the strike. Amazon Prime (specifically the UK branch), Paramount+, Apple TV, HBO, and the BBC are just some examples. Let’s comment and bring the show to their attention. This is what was done by fans of “The Expanse” when it was cancelled and Amazon eventually picked it up.

Consider writing to Netflix’s headquarters via old fashioned letters voicing your displeasure!

Take part in the watch party happening May 20th/21st!!

And let’s just keep spreading lots of love and share our joy for the show!

Will these methods most definitely ensure Lockwood finds its way back into production? No, I can’t attest to that. But will they at the very least let the creators, the actors, and Mr Stroud himself know how loved and appreciated this story was to us all? Absolutely yes.

If anyone out there has any other ideas, please feel free to brainstorm!

It’s spooky season so here are some webtoon recs

apologies in advance for the low quality images some of them are locked behind paywalls now (on the kr app the translated ones should be fine) and I was too lazy to go through all the chapters for the good panels

Ghost Teller- I’m so biased but this is one of my favorite webtoons. Summary in one line: ghosts go to therapy

Real summary: various ghosts (s1 is eastern ghosts, s2 is western ghosts) tell “human stories” (like how we talk abt ghost stories lol). the art is amazing, and all the episodes are all pretty solid. even if some stories are predictable you still feel for the characters (although personally I prefer s1 over s2)

Sweet Home- some of you might have seen it on Netflix but whether you watched it or not I highly recommend the webtoon (I have issues with the adaptation but that’s another story)

basically people suddenly start turning into monsters and the survivors of this apartment try to survive together. except the mc shows signs of becoming one of those monsters which creates unrest amongst the survivors. not going to get too into the monster part bc spoilers but the webtoon explores what people would do for survival so you get to see scummy ppl, kind ppl, all trapped together and try to survive 👍

the art style captures the story’s spooky/horror vibe so well. I didn’t include Bastard on the list (the previous webtoon the same author and artist worked on) bc it’s more of a psychological horror/thriller than creature? horror but if it sounds interesting or you liked sweet home I highly highly recommend Bastard as well.

+) There’s also a prequel called Shotgun Boy that’s more about the creatures’ origins

Surviving Romance- despite the title there’s little to no romance although it can probably be read as sapphic if you’d like. if you read makeup remover it’s by the same author. I’ve also seen some people compare this to orv but I can’t speak for that since I haven’t finished orv… haha

one line summary: mc gets isekai’d into a romance novel except it suddenly turns into a zombie apocalypse

long summary: mc is the mc of a romance novel but on the day she’s supposed to receive a confession from the male lead, there’s a zombie outbreak. she already read the novel so she knows the story and characters, but literally everybody that’s not the love interests don’t like her bc that’s how the mc of the novel was written. she finds out that the day resets when she dies but she doesn’t really care until someone she doesn’t know the face of saves her and she decides to find that person and make sure they make it out alive

even if you don’t like isekais (I personally don’t) it’s worth a try. it plays around the isekai premise well and the fourth wall moments were just *chef’s kiss* the impact of those moments especially when the webtoon was still ongoing was 🤌

the cast is primarily female characters, and despite the cast being on the slightly larger side, each of them are distinct from one another and the characters designs are very cute and colorful. overall it has an unique premise that it delivers pretty well on

Night of Shadows- kinda underrated tbh. mc has prophetic dreams, creatures from her dreams start appearing irl, and she’s the only one that knows how to deal with them.

mc is great. she’s strong, smart, and knows when not to give a fuck. the other three characters of the main cast are also pretty strongly established, and the plot and pacing are pretty good. this is the only one on the list that’s still ongoing (currently on hiatus after s1)

#did they rlly censor the middle finger? yes they did kr censorship just be like that sometimes #the webtoon fandom is so niche compared to mangas and anime fandoms so I don’t think this’ll reach a lot of ppl #but if you’re ever bored give them a try :D #I’m very aware these recs are me going dw just trust me #but please dw and trust me (not too much tho) #misu.txt #ghost teller #sweet home #surviving romance #night of shadows #webtoon

i found mlp:fim on netflix with korean audio..!! so i watched a few eps... kor listening practice... and the kr dub is honestly p good!! all the voices were decent to good... rainbow dash's voice is my fav, she sounded so cute🥹🥹 ok here's my rating:

1. rainbow dash: cute, boyish, raspy like the og, kind of pouty sound when she complains, it was rly cute... just as good or even better than og (btw same VA as mala sauce cookie in crk)🥺 i liked all her deliveries... adowable...

2. apple jack: doesnt have the southern accent like the og ofc but she has a cute deeper boyish voice so i liked it lol

3. pinkie pie: the og pinkie pie is the best, but her VA did a rly good job, she def sounds accurate to pinkie pie!! cute i love pinkie... singing wasnt as good as og but like good enough

4. rarity: her VA did a good job!! its rly hard to beat her og voice but i think her VA did a rly good job w the dramatic acting, i think it was v fitting/accurate

+ spike: sounded cute! not much to say but i liked his voice better than the og tbh

5. twilight: good enough! her voice is v recognizable to me (parfait cookie VA) but I liked that it sounded diff from the og voice, gave a diff sound to the mc. She did a good job but just not my fav voice

+ celestia: good enough! deep and did sound fitting to a queen-like chara, but i like her og voice better... her VA has sm range tho (same va as gingerbrave lol)

6. fluttershy: again, good enough! i just think she didnt sound as cute as the og and some of the delivery didnt hit as hard(like the yelling/angry parts)🥺 i think the VA did a pretty good job but for ex. i could picture other VAs sounding more fitting... (like white lily or pumpkin pie VA)
