The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world.

Sorry if this is already listed somewhere, but do you have any good recommendations for wlw "new adult" type stuff? I'm pan (and ace) and desperately want some good wlw rep, especially for my own labels but I'm aware I probably can't be too picky. I used to read a ton of YA, but I'm over the high school drama bs, and full adult novels tend to not hold my attention because, quite frankly, they take too much energy that my ADHD brain doesn't have.
If this was answered elsewhere, sorry 😅 and thank you in advance for any rec's!!
I am an absolute fan of New Adult, so I am so excited to share some of my recommendations for it!

Butch Boot Camp - Release!
Tumblr media
Madison’s small town parents were not thrilled when she returned from her first year of university in the city having begun transitioning. Looking for a way to get her to rethink her choice, her sheltered and conservative parents found a bootcamp online that sounded like it would help. For her part, Madison was outraged and swore to escape. If she’s paid a bit less attention to escape plans and more attention to the lessons she might realise how much her parents messed up, though.

Xaden did nothing wrong wtf. It pisses me off so much that he had to apologize to Violet at the end.
Like! No!
Do not apologize for keeping a secret that literally got your father and 107 other children’s parents killed AND COULD ALSO GET THOSE 107 CHILDREN THAT SURVIVED KILLED NOW!!!!!!
Having sex does not mean you deserve to know anything and everything about your partner and it definitely doesn’t mean you have to tell secrets that aren’t even yours to tell. There were literally lives at stake, so no you don’t get to me mad at a man you’ve known less than a year for keeping a secret to protect people.
Why do certain books not understand that trust takes time and it comes in increments and is given over and over again not just once for forever and it’s not something you can force at all you just have to be grateful to the people you love for giving it to you when they’re ready and sometimes you just have to accept that you can’t know everything your partner knows because not everyone everything is their’s to tell.

Fire on Every Horizon - Looking for Beta Readers!
Eli Yuen is a witch and an exorcist in the gig economy, which means late nights, bad pay, and a shitty apartment. Between the sea of ghosts that haunt everywhere in America, her teacher and boss's ridiculous rules, and the memories of her dead daddy, she's barely keeping herself out of the darkness lurking in her chest, even with the help of her girlfriend Paladin. But when her teacher disappears and a strangely attractive diner worker offers her a lucrative job exorcising a ghost lurking back in Appalachia, the darkness will no longer be something she can deny. Faced with fallen angels, abyssal gods, the specter of Communism, and her own past, Eli will at last be forced to confront the question that has troubled her for so long. Is this really all there is to life? 84,000 words long, Fires on Every Horizon is a new adult, new weird, rural fantasy, horror-adjacent story about trans, polyamorous witches and the end of the world. And you can read it right now, for free, for the low, low price of commenting and being a beta reader for me! Find the link here, and please make sure to read the content warning before going further: Link In particular I am looking for trans, butch, lesbian, poly, bi, Filipino, Appalachian and formerly cult-affiliated beta readers, and those who exist at the intersection of all those identities. Reblogs are appeciate, and thank you!

I think I might have found another contender for my top favorite book of the year! This was amazing and I just didn’t want to put it down. I had a stupidly happy smile on my face the whole time I was reading. And I might have been giggling to myself as well, because the characters in this are just so sweet and anxious and relatable. I’m also pretty sure that this is the fastest I’ve devoured a 400+ page physical book in a while. I genuinely don’t know what I’m going to do with myself while I wait for my copies of book two and three to get here.
I loved that this book has its roots in fanfic! And yes, in some of the broader strokes of the story telling you can tell which fandom gave this story its basic structure. But I don’t think that’s a bad thing. In fact, I really loved that about this book, it felt like home even though these are completely new characters and a whole new story. Eli and Alex are both so sweet and anxious and I could read about them endlessly. I also absolutely adored the cast of side characters! I honestly can’t wait to dive into the next book. Like Real People Do is getting a solid five stars!
