I haven't read any of ASC, but I've been thinking about this AUwhere Nightheart is the kit of Lionblaze and the spitting image of Hollyleaf.

Make his struggles being not orange being tied to his half (well i guess quarter) clan heritage (I know it's used a lot but here me out)

Your dad's this big, important senior warrior, well respected, but he can't even look at you for too long cuz you look so much like his dead sister. He's also this big hulking mass of a warrior, but you've got a skinny little body that screams WindClan blood.

And your uncle is the clans med cat, but every time he treats you, his paws shake, and every time you ask about your aunt, his sharp tongue gets even sharper.

Have older ThunderClan cats who knew that Hollyleaf killed Ashfur whisper behind his back about how they wished he had been born a year or two earlier. How he's such a spitting image of Hollyleaf that surely he could take Ashfur down.

And even after, while the clans try to settle down, the tension and stigma around codebreakers still simmers in the air. And here's this ThunderClan cat who looks like he's Breezepelt's kid instead of Lionblaze's.

Nightheart who just wants to be a part of his clan but can't shake the feeling that he's an outcast. His dad looks at him with sadness and grief in his eyes. His clanmates who spin wild stories and tales about how Hollyleaf seemingly died and then came back. Nightheart who actually experiences being compared to other cats who look like him, specifically cats who are still alive, and being told he could do all of these great things.

Nightheart who alientates himself and believes no one knows what he's going through, when his mother, Cinderheart, was seemingly/rumoured to be possessed by a cat she looks similair to, was named after, and suffered a similair injury to.

Nightheart who flees his clan because of this, but then realizes his aunt Hollyleaf did the same thing. ThunderClan thought she was dead. ThunderClan must think he's dead. Hollyleaf came back and took down an evil that threatened StarClan.

i dont know where else to go from here but nightheart could be cool if the erins could just break away from their favorite toxic couple's bloodline pls. and explore cross clan relationships beyond just the two lovers and their immediate offspring

One of my red flags (? Is that the right term to use) is probably the fact that I want my ocs to be happy and have good relationships, which takes away the funny and the interesting. The trauma is there but I won't rest unless they have a good ending. Would it be more interesting if the ending was bad? Surely. Do I have the guts to do it? Absolutely not. Wouldn't it be interesting for 2 of my ocs to have a toxic relationship whose themes are explored and made interesting? Yes but I'll be sad if my character and their significant other aren't all cutesy and happy with one another. I would be making an antagonist/villain with the idea that my characters will finally dislike someone, but then I feel bad for them, give them a redemption arc and throw them in the main group. They're all friends now. In the early stages of a story I am making a character used to be the main villain set out to conquer the world (don't comment on it I was 12) and now he's a very innocent and sensitive person

Ngl tga has always had some sorta really fuckin bizarre bias to "kids' games" like Mario and Sonic because both BotW and Metroid Dread are more realistically looking and "adult" than say Pokémon or D.K. and they're the only real ones that got nominated for something that wasn't the family's game category or something low-key, meanwhile (besides last year's goty thankfully) most of the games that get awards are ones that focus on realism and gritty boring story telling. But for Sonic's case especially, who's reputation has been tarnished for years by some let's players and ngl some specific fandubs that made it seem like a joke to have serious storytelling, was especially biased against. Especially since they literally have THE lead singer of Sleeping with Sirens, as well as a bunch of experimental music ranges but still focusing on the rock Sonic has been associated with for so long, yet wasn't even nominated for that. Like seriously??? No offense to the composers but I can guarantee only 20% of people would know a song right from the get-go from the entirety of the gow franchise, meanwhile even non-sonic fans know Green Hill. Escape from the City??? Do I even need to mention Live & Learn?! god I'm sorry for flooding your inbox but I'm like. Actually pretty heated over the blatant disrespect to the Sonic devs that's been going on for too long

yeah i cant help but notice it too people are so biased against sonic like every time some new sonic thing comes out and its good people go "wow this wasnt absolute dogshit like i was expecting it to be!" or "that was pretty good! you know.. for sonic". and people are somehow shocked that sonic frontiers has good music?? that HAS to be because they refuse to take sonic seriously because sonic has been delivering banger after banger since the 90s. and yeah like you said people constantly memeing on sonic and sonic becoming known for those sorts of things is not helping at all

and the game awards seem a bit biased against "childish" games in general not just sonic. like how nominees for awards like game of the year or best soundtrack or story or art are mostly more gritty and "adult" games and games that are more colorful and appeal to kids like sonic and splatoon and mario and kirby are excluded from that and are just nominated for best family game or some other smaller award. as if these games cant have good music or compelling stories just because kids like them and they dont have hyper realistic graphics and characters. and there are exceptions, animal crossing new horizons was nominated for goty back in 2020, but from what ive seen this is usually the pattern and it really sucks
