wait what is this freshman freak week fic about??

glad you asked anon! i'll give you the first four paragraphs of the fic bc it pretty much explains it :) also, the y/n in this pick me chronicles side story, is a different one than the main series. and it's a haechan fic, and we'll follow his character.

Every college has it's own crazy traditions.

Over at UCLA, they do this wild Undie Run at midnight where everyone just dashes around in their undies. Brown University takes it up a notch with Nude Week, where students can do stuff like yoga and painting in the buff. Then, at Yale, seniors wrap up their time by streaking through the library butt-naked.

But at NCTU, we've got Freshman Freak Week.

Don't be fooled by the name—it's just a four-day stretch. Kicking off on the Thursday before classes begin (one day after the freshmen move in) and wrapping up on the following sunday. Four days for freshmen to meet people, have fun, and get their dicks wet. Or for the ladies, get bent over the nearest bleacher (you should ask jaemin about that one).

Sam watched as Crowley's eyes, which had been fixed on his, slid downwards, and—Sam didn't think about that often. It was just one more unpleasant thing about Crowley to add to the pile, and Sam didn't know what it said about him that he'd never thought to use it to his advantage. Maybe it said something good, to other people, but Sam mostly felt stupid.

He said, "Me. I'm something you want."

Buck and Eddie are best friends. Why is that so difficult for everyone to understand?

Or, five times someone tells Buck he’s in love with Eddie and the one time he tells Eddie

The call comes in at the tail end of their shift, and Buck’s only a little annoyed that it interrupts their pool game (he was totally about to beat Eddie, which almost never happens.)

They know it’s going to be a tricky one before they arrive. Two hikers, one of whom has what is probably a broken leg, trapped by a rockslide in Topanga Canyon. There’s no clear path to the hikers unless they explode some of the rock blocking their path—a plan Bobby nixes almost immediately, as it might trigger another rockslide.

“We’re going to have to go in from above,” he says. He, Eddie, Lucy and Buck are conferring by the truck, map in hand.

“Chopper?” Buck says hopefully.

Eddie shoots him a look of amused reproach.

Bobby shakes his head. “Not enough clearance in this part of the canyon.”

“Can we rappel down from the ridge?” Lucy asks.

Bobby looks up, grimacing. “I’m not comfortable with that. Grounds not stable enough.”

“So we anchor from further back,” Eddie says. “Cap, look—there’s an access road a couple hundred yards back. We drive the truck up there—”

“—and the aerial ladder should give us enough clearance,” Buck finishes, slapping Eddie’s arm in praise.

Bobby looks over at Eddie and nods. “That should work.”

Buck beams, as proud as he would be if the idea had been his. Maybe more so. Eddie’s only been back with the 118 for a week, but it feels like he never left.

They drive up to the access road and get to work.

Eddie hooks the rope to Buck’s harness, checks the straps to make sure it’s secure. It’s habitual—something they’ve done a hundred times before, probably—but it’s the first time Eddie’s done it in months. When he’s satisfied, Eddie steps back and flashes a smile at him, a bright, happy thing that lights up his eyes. Buck is helpless to smile back.

He’s just—he’s happy to have his partner back. And not just that—he’s happy Eddie’s doing well enough to be back. It had been a hard couple months, but they’d weathered it together and now Eddie’s so much lighter, like a weight’s been lifted off him. Buck can’t help but feel lighter for it, too.

Eddie is one of the best people he knows, and he deserves every good thing, as far as Buck’s concerned.
