the next step of flattening is the cleaning part and this is what i feel like might cause burnout since it is.. a little boring! removing path and cliffs especially(tho moving trees and flowers can be enjoyable..)
i do these next things while moving buildings and cleaning each area, with the purpose of avoiding the flattening burnout🍃
step 1 is gardening! unless you love a completely flat island its nice to have some trees and flowers saved☘️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it also helps get you started for the new builds later✨
step 2 is moodboards and new pathing! do something to inspire you and remind you of the new ideas that made you decide to flatten! i often just do a cluttered item collecting area! it still has that effect i think..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also helps me feel like im working towards something while the island is a mess lol
step 3 is accept that your island will look "bad" while you change things up..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i tend to be pretty quick to do the first build i have planned for the new theme! it makes me look forward to the creative part and accept that its gonna take a minute to get the island ready for new things🌱 patience is needed for flattening too✨ its meant to be a fun challenge not the thing that makes you leave the game after all💛

Good-Night Gamers
Tumblr media
I have posted a lot of stuff today for Dreamlight Valley... I still have tons more to post tomorrow. Some things to look forward to are:
Crafting Materials Sell Prices/Locations
Pantry Costs
Realm Costs
Crafting Recipes/Sell Prices
Star-Ratings for Meals
Critter Info. (ex: how to feed them)
Charater Sleep Schedules
If you all can think of anything I have missed, let me know. Otherwise all the DDLV stuff will be updated as more updates come out. The next games I will drop posts for are:
Slime Rancher (I just started playing this game so I will update as I get info... may add Slime Rancher 2 once I buy it in a few months)
Sims 4 (the most recent so I feel it is good to have all the cheats and reliable CC stuff out there for new and seasoned players)
Animal Crossing: New Horizons (I know this has been out for a while, but always a good thing to have for those who are new to the game)
Stardew Valley (I haven't played this in a while so the info will mostly be stuff I have gathered online)
Anyways, heading to bed now. It is almost midnight here so I need to get some sleep. Have to be up early to take my kid to school then come home and get back to posting all my stuff. Hopefully I will have the access to making an actual page so I can organize the posts better for everyone. I may also create a Discord for outside of tumblr support/etc for everyone to hit up when not on here (not a lot of people use Tumblr anymore but a BUNCH of people use Discord)

A “short” acnh guide to keeping resident services in the tent and still being able to terraform and waterscape the island!🌻✨
im saying short bc its probably not gonna be as detailed as watching a video, so i’ll link to two of those as well right here - by boiscrossing and ninatries on youtube.
you need 2 switches to do this and they both need to have acnh on them! also if you dont already have a full played-on island on one of the switches, this whole thing is gonna take an even longer time tbh bc thats kinda needed..
On the first switch that already has an island:
1. create a second character on your main switch island🍃 it has to be a second character btw it cant be the resident rep
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. upgrade that new character so they have a house(any size) and keep grinding for nookmiles!!! this part is kinda boring but honestly the more you do it the more you get to enjoy bc its mostly not gonna be an option on the new island..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. get the terraforming and waterscaping, as well as anything else you might want from the nookmiles shop! you can also fill up your house/inventory with stuff bc you get to bring all that as well
4. when you are ready to move, go to the start menu and press the minus button(settings) and talk to tom nook, get ready to tell him you want to “move to a new island” and start the process
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the second switch with no island🏝️:
1. open up the start screen for a brand new island! instead of saying that you are new, you pick the option “i’m moving” when it becomes available, and then the game tells you in detail how to move on! and you can actually reroll islands, as long as the directions you get on the first island are over with👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. play the first day like you normally would on any new island, dont panic about nothing showing up, you gotta get to the “synched up with real time” place before you get all the things from your pockets and tom nook will tell you that they gotta rebuild your house or something lol i dont remember exactly but something like that
3. He gives you your little phone and thats all you need! You can get straight to filling up rivers and moving cliffs🎉
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now - how to keep resident services from upgrading? This is very easy! you just cant get anymore new villagers! sad but easy to remember! i mean maybe you could get one or even two out of the next 3 available(im not sure, i personally am just not gonna risk it) but you just cant finish that part of the early gameplay if you want the tent! you can get the shops and the museum tho if you want to! but yea otherwise its a 3 resident island(yourself included) so i would consider being very happy with the two starters you get🫶🏻⛺️

hiii i wanted to ask you since ur the Bug Hunting Royalty of tumblr, what are some tips for catching the beetles on palm trees? i have three bugs left i have to catch and two of them i’m super confident in catching (dung beetle and mole cricket) but i still need the horned hercules i think and i saw somebody said it’s best to clear the land if ur bug hunting with nook miles tickets, but what does that mean exactly? how do you do it????? reveal ur secrets please :’)
Hii! Aww that's so sweet of you 🥺 I don't know if I'm particularly good at hunting bugs – I think I'm just very stubborn lol!
But yeah NMTs are the way to go! The best way of getting the rare bugs to spawn is to get a smaller area like the mystery islands and then making it harder for everything that isn't on a palm tree to spawn.
You can do this on any island you use NMTs to get to but bamboo islands are the best because they're flat, lack ponds/rivers and bamboo trees don't spawn any bugs so you don't need to chop anything. (You can use Kapp'n islands too but those usually require a lot of ladders and poles to navigate, which slows down the whole process) On bamboo islands you just need to dig up or destroy all flowers until there's nowhere left to spawn for stinkbugs etc. The only trees standing should be palm trees. So ideally you should devastate an islands flora until it looks something like this:
Tumblr media
(scorpion follower optional)
So what now? Now you need to run around!
Tumblr media
A bug like the horned hercules is very rare so even after limiting spawns to palm trees you'll probably not find one immediately. So whenever you see a bug you don't want you either catch it or scare it by running up to it. After doing it you should head to the other beach and check the trees there. Next time you go to the first area you checked new bugs should've appeared (they basically spawn as soon as the camera leaves an area unseen). Keep doing this until you find the bug(s) of your dreams. It might take a while though but it is more consistent than doing it the regular way.
Keep in mind though that not all bugs can be prevented from spawning: during summer mosquitoes and (if you're on an island with rivers) water bugs appear regardless of which plants are around. You need to remove these too, which is annoying because mosquitoes won't get scared by you running around which means you'll have to catch them or let them bite you. Oh, mind the scorpions too.
Another useful trick is to use the mystery islands weird passage of time to your favor. Unlike on your own island bugs and fish won't change as hours pass but instead they'll spawn according to the time you arrive on the island. So if you don't feel like staying up all night you can just travel with the plane to an island late at night (10pm or later) and just leave the game on without quitting in sleep mode overnight until morning or afternoon. Have fun catching bugs in daylight hours!
Tumblr media
There are probably more tricks to this and I might've missed something in this explanation but I hope it helps! I hope you'll find that elusive beetle!
