"Virtual photography is a form of new media art where images are created by taking screenshots of video games or other virtual worlds. Virtual photography has been featured in physical art galleries around the world. The validity and legality of this art form is sometimes questioned, because virtual photographers are taking photos of artwork created by the game's designers and artists. For the most part, virtual photographers share the same motivations as "real life" photographers, including a desire to capture visually interesting images, preserve memories, and demonstrating technical expertise."

For me, it's a step into escapism. It's kind of seen when I focus on out of bounds experiences. I've always been drawn to these kinds of glitches; something felt different when I was able to explore areas you're not suppose to see. There was accomplishment and exploration. It was sometimes hard to get out of bounds, and after you did it, you were rewarded with an entirely new world. Now, some areas felt alien and wrong. I remember in Halo 2 when I got out of bounds, I found a cutout silhouette. As a kid it just felt earie. Like I was looking at a ghost. Sometimes I would shut the console off after getting a feeling that something is there with me, lurking in this space.

Now that I'm older I've kind of built up the ability to break out of bounds pretty easily. I've also learned why some of these spaces are built the way they are (partly because I build these spaces now). I don't get those chills anymore. I honestly, Feel ethereal when exploring these places. I get to float through and capture moments & views that are not only pretty to me, but unique and hardly seen.

I've really taken a liking to Virtual Photography. And with VR it kind of FEELS like physical photography, be it the camera is a toaster and strapped to my head. I'm excited that I found a new way to explore glitches and things I love. Now I just need to get better with level design so I can do it to my own worlds.
