The fact that Leo can go literally anywhere on earth to be alone with his thoughts at a single moment’s notice is something that shakes around in my head all the time. Like, portals and teleportation are amazing and convenient abilities both in and out of battle, but they could also so easily be used to run away as well.

I don’t think Leo ever would, at least not most of the time. He loves his family too much, and is too dependent on their love and attention to cut himself off so suddenly like that, but it’s a very real possibility nonetheless.

It’s a good thing Leo’s overall temper is more on the mild side and he prefers going to his room or something to complete solitude, because it really is dangerous for a kid to have the ability to isolate themselves like that at their fingertips.

You know what? I’m honestly surprised there isn’t (as far as I’m aware of) a ROTTMNT 2012 crossover that takes place immediately after the Rise Boys just after defeating the Shredder and losing their Karai and through some accident one way or another they end up in the 2012 TMNT universe

But here’s the kicker: instead of usually running into the 2012 TMNT or their Kraang they run into Karai and her foot soldiers (somewhere after she takes lead of the foot clan) and being the morally-grey and fresh-out-of-losing-their-Karai trauma turtles they are they immediately attach onto her like children lost in a store

Look where I’m getting at is I just want morally-grey rise turtles hanging out with 2012 Karai and just having some not-so-innocent fun, you know? Like I feel like the fandom should make more Rise Turtles and 2012 Karai content, it would be great

POV: you’re a little exhausted from team hopping and doing good thing after good thing to finally prove you’re worth the investment just to see your dad again and he doesn’t even say anything to you about the fact you’re still alive and it’s almost like he doesn’t notice you at all but you get to see your oldest little sister again so that’s pretty cool

POV: you’re a little exhausted from taking on mission after mission to live up to your name which is your dads name which is the person you were conditioned to be so in a way it’s like the facility is still controlling you and your dad notices you too much and is always volunteering you for the things he doesn’t have time for but you get to see your big brother again so that’s pretty cool

little thing i did for fun. i remember it either being implied in the fic or reading it in an ask or the comments on ao3 about Leo being the first to really gain sentience/human intelligence out of all the brothers + finding food for the gang when they were little. anyways i was thinking about that and this scenario got stuck in my head for the past few days + would not leave so i drew it.

(this also incorporates my personal hc that the old lair wasn't the first place they settled + spent the first couple years bouncing around trying to find a suitable home. that's why they're in a warehouse)

One of the things you just have to accept with X-Men is that because there are soooooo many characters, but only so many comics it is inevitable that many of your favs will get pushed to the side lines from time to time, especially if they are less well known.

i know people really hate academy x because its too much of a teen drama and not an action book (before kyle and yost took over) but god theres so much hostility i can feel towards Sofia as a character because shes one of the only students who really wasnt involved or important at all in the kyle/yost run. it sucks so much because she's such a great character and its clear the writers were going to take her and her powers in a very interesting direction. shes like one of my top academy x kids but its RARE to find someone who also cares about her.

Do you ever think of how the turtles were so used to their low stakes Saturday Morning Cartoon villain fights that when the Big Bads like the Krang and Shredder came about they got hit with a whiplash of “wtf this isn’t our genre???”

Considering the way that she got her new outfit in Vita Ayala's New Mutants is kind of a Sailor Moon/Magi(k)cal (hah) girl send up, I could totally imagine Illyana getting super into Sailor Moon as a young girl. Seeing girls around her age with similar magical powers without the associated trauma could give her a way to ignore her problems for a little while, and imagine herself in the role of Usagi, fighting evil with her friends (Kitty and the New Mutants) and a cute animal sidekick (Lockheed) without any of the pesky Limbo stuff. And even into her twenties she watches every reboot and does an annual rewatch of the original, which would influence how she manifested her new uniform.

It's also very cute to imagine her buying merch and trying to hide that she likes the traditionally 'girly' show from her friends and family, but she has the whole manga print run on a bookshelf somewhere.
