This is a blog started as a is-this-[blank] blog inspired by @is-this-plural but i could only find one post that was unintentionally ficto so this is just a general blog to ask questions, share experiences, share memes, get help, or just have fun! This is a safe space that doesn't tolerate hate.

Fictosexuality, also known as fictophilia, is when someone feels attraction (almost) exclusively to fictional characters, whose attraction is influenced by fictional characters, or whose attraction to fictional characters is just as/more intense as real people (i.e. not just crushes).

Fictoromantic is the romantic counterpart of this. It's the exact same but for romantic attraction instead of sexual.

Ficto- is a broad label that's under the xenor spectrum, where one feels attraction to sapient targets that are not other humans currently living in this world (does not include paraphilia). Xenor includes not only ficto, but autophilia (attraction to self), objectum (attraction to objects), medusan (nonhuman/alterhuman attracted to other nonhuman/alterhuman), teratosexual (attraction to monsters that pass the harkness test), etc etc etc. you can explore more here.

Ficto- can be many other types of attraction and you can simply add a suffix to indicate type of attraction (tertiary attraction list here)

An f/o (short for fictional other) is the term fictos use for their partner or the fictional character they are in a relationship with/desire a relationship with.

Selfshipping is a heavily connected community and is a practice where one ships themself with a fictional character. This can also include shipping their f/o with a self insert OC or just an OC. Selfshippers may or may not be ficto, and selfshipping is NOT a form of proshipping.

Ficto- is not only a microlabel, but an umbrella term. It includes booklosexual (attraction to book characters), semifictosexual (strong attraction to fictional characters, but occasional/infrequent/conditional/weak attraction to real people), animesexual (attraction to anime characters, a controversial label but still a label nonetheless), and many more. You can find the full list in this wiki.

The full spectrum is known as fictospec or fictospectrum.
