I've been a lot into Deltarune and Ralsei is such a sweetheart ! So here is an art of him ! I couldn't just leave him like that . I tried out a new way to do the shadings by the way !
Lately, he had started delving into runesmithing, applying various runes into his creations, and he got a decent grasp of it.
But the thing is, while Ferenir is a blacksmith, he is also a wanderer and a warrior. He does not have the time for endless practice the way a dwarven blacksmithing of 300 years has.
So while he is very confident in his metalwork, his runework only promised to be...decent. And even after a hundred years of practice, he would only be one of the same, one among many. The runes are set, they exist as they are. One can learn to manipulate and enhance them, but only to a certain point.
And that did demotivate him for a little bit. Thankfully, he loves his craft too much to stop so easily. While working with the runes and inscribing them into the weapons he made, he felt a curious, new feeling. Exploring it and researching it in extent, he came to learn that dragons can naturally imbue their magic into items.
And he realized the feeling he was sensing had to be related to that, awakened by the art of rune inscribing, that held similarities in its nature of transferring magic.
Thus, he experimented a lot with exactly that...transferring his own magic into a new creation while he forged it, using runes to bind it to it. His own way to mimic the ability of full dragons.
It was eventually a success, even if in early stages. But what does that mean for Ferenir's works from now on.
Well, the dragon transfers their own magic, and the item holds its properties. A fire dragon creates items that manipulate fire, an ice dragons bestows frost-aligned properties...
And as for Ferenir, his items hold the power of earth, that of toughness. They are incredibly durable, much more than their metal itself would allow. This allows for blades with impossibly sharp edges, or blunt weapons of very heavy strikes. And of course, for very durable and powerful armor, his absolute specialty.
For this sample I worked in the domestics for embroidery techniques to create a new texture on my print sample to show my development on sketch sewing.
I used bold bright colours to give a uv light scan effect using this technique alongside it. I created more layers and went back over some to blend all the colours together in the end.
Overall j would use this technique again as it gives me a positive outcome in the end showing my skills of development through sewing.
New textiles technique✨weaving✨ I really like how this turned out the colours perfectly links with one another. I’ve picked black as the base as it’s the base colour of the Angolan flag and then topped it with red as red is the blood colour of the country because we’re known as fighters. The purple also used was to convey the colours of one of Angolan African tribe masks.
