New town, new Girl Scout Troop, and a new BFF, Lauren! The cool thing is that her mom is the Troop Leader, but that also means we have to be on our best behavior when the meetings are at her place. I've had a couple of instances where she's taken me to her bedroom for some "serious talks" about behaving properly! Lauren calls these talks "bare bottomed counselings!" 😂

It’s always “the calm before the storm” yet no one ever talks about what lays in waiting after the storm. The rain washing away every awful thing bringing in new and lovely things. No one talks about how with those new lovely things comes an awful amount of grief and regret. I am at a loss, knowing that I finally have what I’ve always wanted deep down, but I lost you along the way. I regret not being there. I ache from the memories of the entire time. I want to be able to share it with you. At last I am finally accepted and truly loved for every part of who I am, like it was always meant to be this way. Storytime! I just had the most delightful flight back from Austin! My seat mates were just absolutely lovely, superfun humans!! Barry, on the left (with the beard) is from Ireland and has lived in Boston for several years. Ryan, on the right, is from Fall River. It felt like the setup for for a bad joke! “An Irish guy, a Bostonian, and a giant transsexual all sit together on a plane…..” (I know, I know, Fall River is NOT Boston! But you and I both know that anyone outside Massachusetts thinks all of us are from there anyway! Ya gotta make adjustments kid!) Anyway, Ryan and I were both returning from work trips in Texas! And Barry had been in Austin on a hastily put together bachelor’s party trip with a big group of friends from Ireland and Boston!! Out of politeness to my new friends, I’ll leave a lot of the rest of the details out! But suffice to say, the spirit of the party carried on! And the 3 of us got more drinks in us and had a lovely little “sesh” (drinking session) right there in row 5!!! I have reason to believe we were a fairly rowdy crew!! But as part of the conversation turned towards the merits and benefits of being nice to folks, (spurred by a friend of Barry’s seated forward of us who had brought nice chocolates for the crew, which the crew then shared with us!!!) the people around us seemed pretty tolerant of the mayhem! Also, I absolutely positively have to shoutout the awesome flight attendant Janet!!! She TOOK CARE of us, and seemed generally at least bemused by our boisterousness! She was also really funny! And at the end of the flight took really good care of a person getting quite sick on the other side of the plane. (Amazingly, NOT one of the partygoers!!) I haven’t had a flight like that in years!! It was a four hour flight that absolutely flew by!!
