they’re all happy to see you despite the mixed reactions
(welcome back)
Tumblr media
Oh they are truly adorable and would not ask for anything from them! So grumpy, Riddle and Ace, but we all know that attitude would not last long. They don't want to miss out on the hugs or kisses!
Summary: You came home a bit later than usual on the account of bad weather. So, safe to say that your plant nymphs had a variety of reactions when you finally arrive on that early morning.
Tumblr media
You didn’t mean to have a sudden sleepover over at Neige’s house, but the storm that trampled its way through the area caused the river you normally walk by to flood. You had little choice but to stay with him for the time being. You did make sure to phone Crowley so that your plant nymphs are feed. And to take them inside if the winds get too strong.
So, when the morning came and you finally could get home, you can’t say you were shocked when the Ace and Deuce combo dove from the tree above and landed right on your head and face. You can feel Ace’s little arms hitting your scalp while Deuce was slowly sliding down your face. You caught both of them in your hand.
“Yeah, yeah,” you squished them to make them stop squirming. You nuzzled their faces with your nose, “Sorry. The river was a little scary and I had to stay with Neige for a bit. Can’t very well risk drowning on the way home.”
Gotta treasure your own life after all. You’re not gonna let the natural elements take it just yet.
A clone Cater went up and tugged at your pants before recoiling in disgust over the muck that collected on it.
“Ah, yeah, there was a lot of scum to wade through,” you tried to kick it off, but it’s hard when you have your hands full of Ace and Deuce, “Hello to you too, Cater. Oh?”
Cater pointed behind him before poofing out of existence. At the entrance of your house, with little plumerias and clovers swaying in the calm wind, was Cater and Trey carrying a most delicate rose. It’s petals were so wide, lush and layered that it threatened to swallow the both of them.
You finally put Ace and Deuce down to cup the gift in your hand. They jogged away but didn’t stray far at all, just made room for you as you stood up to admire the culmination of their hard work. All the roses in your garden are of the most luxurious quality, but only the best ones are plucked and given to you.
You heard the shifting of dirt and the strain of grass blades ripping apart. The final greeter, the leader of all these worker nymphs, has arrived with a most angry crease on his face.
Riddle commanded the roots to lift him just above your height, as though he’s too angry to be on equal level to you. His arms were crossed, his little rose petal body a ruffled mess probably from overthinking and worrying himself.
He’s huffing and puffing, tapping his little foot, clearly waiting for something from you.
You reached up and scratched the Roseling right under his chin. He practically melted onto your fingers.
You couldn’t help the smile on your face as you said, “Thank you all for waiting for me.”

GIVES YOU HELL
"In the Rough’s “Gives You Hell” comic is not only about Helly and Molly coming back to haunt Michael Moore and Zion Diamine for the ways they’ve wronged them, but also publicly bringing to the forefront how their selfish desires have affected a nation that is starting to rap at their doors."
------------------------------------
Enjoy GIVES YOU HELL! I had a huge blast working on this comic. I was recently put on new meds finally when I was hit with the drive to start and finish this thing. I didn't intend on seeing this through to the end, but man am I glad that I did! You can see as I go along, I put more into the comic. I'm very proud of this in particular, since I have always had trouble with finishing things I start. Comics in particular despite loving doing them. Very thrilling to be able to show others a glimpse of what I envision In the Rough's story to play out like in my head : )

Jim Dine at the Robert Fraser Gallery, 1966
In September 1966 police raided an exhibition of Jim Dine's work displayed at Robert Fraser's gallery in London, England, called "London 1966". Twenty-one of his works were seized and Fraser was charged under the Obscene Publications Act of 1959, Dine's work was found to be indecent but not obscene and Fraser was fined 20 guineas.

The article is transcribed below the cut.
Western Daily Press, Tuesday, November 29, 1966
A Detective’s ‘Blue’ Sketch Then Art Dealer Gave Him a Photo Instead
Western Daily Press Reporter
Detective sergeant Terence Beale told yesterday of the day he began to make a sketch of an indecent picture on sale in a Mayfair, London, gallery.
The picture he was copying showed a part of the female anatomy and was marked with an obscene word, he told Marlborough Street magistrates.
As he started his sketch, the gallery proprietor, Robert Fraser, handed him a photograph of the painting and said:
“At least, let’s have it accurate.”
Fraser, of the Robert Fraser Gallery, Duke Street, Mayfair, was fined £20 with 30 guineas costs for exposing an indecent exhibition in public. He pleaded not guilty.
Sergeant Beale said that on the left hand wall of the gallery, there were we compositions showing parts of the male anatomy, and on the other wall seven showing similar female parts.
Complaints
Sergeant Beale said he indicated the display and asked: “Are all these items for sale?”
Fraser said: “Yes, of course they are. What are you doing here? Have you had complaints?”
The officer said he had.
Fraser replied: “This show has been on show since Tuesday and only two cranks have complained.”
Sergeant Beale said he indicated certain pictures and said: “I think they are the worst.”
Fraser said: “Are you an art expert?”
Sergeant Beale: “No.”
For Sale
Fraser said: “I am certainly not bothered by the opinion of a tuppeny-half-penny policeman.”
Sergeant Beale said he advised Fraser to take the pictures out of view, pending a decision from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Fraser said: “Certainly not. They are here to be sold. A Jesuit priest says they are all right.
“They are certainly not a matter for you or, for that matter, for the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
The sergeant said he started to make a sketch of the picture with the obscene word on it because the composition did not appear in the catalogue, and Fraser gave him a photograph of it.
‘Run Away’
When the sergeant asked if he had photographs of the give other paintings not in the catalogue, Fraser said: “No.”
He was told again that the matter would have to be reported to the Director of Public Prosecutions. Fraser said: “Yes, all right. Run away and do it.”
Fraser said in evidence that the paintings were the work of American Jim Dine.
“He is one of the most considered and internationally famous of the younger American artists. He is one of the pioneers of pop art,” Fraser said.

@fiercelywinged whispered: “we’re alone now, you could kiss me.”
MEME
{ ♪ } -- She hummed thoughtfully. In most situations, she'd typically get flustered and start stuttering, her face going red and refusing to look at him. But... well. She was feeling a bit mischievous and wanted to see if she may be able to get him to blush instead. So, she gave him a sideways glance and a flirty little smirk.
"Would you like a kiss, little bird?"
Without really waiting for an answer, she shifted. It only took a moment for her to settle herself in his lap, knees on either side of his hips. Hands rested gingerly on his shoulders and she tilted her head as she let their eyes meet.
Tumblr media
"Normally, I'd tell you to ask a little nicer... But I think I can indulge you this once..."
A finger shifted, curling under his chin and lifting it slightly. Bella let her eyes flutter closed, ghosting her lips across his in what could almost be considered a mockery of a kiss. There she stayed, hovering close enough that their breath mingled. She moved again, instead pressing a kiss to his lips (and leaving a noticeable lipstick stain there) before she moved to pull herself from his lap.
"There you are, Dolcezza. Don't get too greedy, now~"

Illustration in the (Oct. 7) New York Times by Ben Pearce (https://lnkd.in/e85BExQU), for an article about art advisers. In Ben’s own words: “In the illustration, we see an art adviser holding the end of the velvet rope from the barrier. Like a doorman granting entry to an exclusive club, the art adviser has granted entry to the collector and allowed her to get closer to the artwork. The opening of the velvet rope speaks of the art adviser's role in surmounting the art world's barriers to entry”

suchha cute hampter and eel :3
There he is! The tube baby himself. Everyone! Look at this little eel and laugh at his decisions! Laugh and cackle as you please! Really, he put himself in the situation, he can get himself out, eventually. Don't you just want to lay him down and bonk on his tube-covered belly? I do.
Adorable art! I love it so. So pathetic, so small, so reckless.

This is a tribute to Peter Benchley, not the movie Jaws (1975)
The author of 'Jaws' dedicated the rest of his life to reversing the unexpected negative impact his book had on the image of sharks.
Not only were sharks supposedly killed to create props for the movie, but 'Jaws' ended up awakening a bloody sea of ignorance in people at the time, who, haunted by an irrational fear and lack of understanding about marine predators, felt motivated to take to their boats and kill thousands of great white sharks in the most feared ways.
Such as the promotion of great white shark hunting championships that targeted the biggest ones, which were mostly pregnant females who, after being displayed as a trophy, had their jaws ripped off and their bodies discarded in the garbage.
Fear spread widely to all shark species, creating a lack of sensitivity that made it convenient to exterminate entire shark populations around the world that for a long time remained invisible to people's perception.
And this has continued to resonate for a long time with the entertainment media perpetuating the portrayal of sharks as monsters, newspapers favoring sensationalism about shark incidents, governments promoting shark culls, the advance of the unregulated predatory fishing industry, scientists not being supported in their studies of marine predators, the destruction of their natural habitats and the pollution of the oceans.
For thousands of years, sharks have taken care of the health of our oceans, older than the dinosaurs or the first trees, they have gone through great mass extinctions, they have been worshipped and respected as gods and guardians by oceanic peoples and now we demonize them in our media and exterminate them by the millions every year, who is the real monster?
We are shark-eaters.
I hope you can also hear what Peter Benchley himself had to say about all this:
I finally finished this artwork! Hope you like it. At some point I will adapt it for my little Redbubble store.🛍️
I reduced the quality to try to prevent them from stealing. I hope it's enough! 🙁

I posted it in my little RedBubble store for anyone who wants it! There are clothes, prints and other curious things.🛍️
