Calling all writers, artists, and video editors! This fest is open to all generations (Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen) and all ships in the Harry Potter world. It's focused on the newly released The Tortured Poets Department, and there are 31 prompts corresponding to the 31 brand new songs on the album!

Below are important dates to remember if you plan to sign up, as well as a quick reiteration of the rules of the fest. We hope you'll come join us and have fun creating some angst, some happy endings, and maybe a combination of both and then some 🖤

🌙 Sign Ups, Claiming & Rules

You must complete the Google Form and claim your prompt on the AO3 collection. If you do not submit the Google Form, your submission will not be considered.

There's an option when signing up for those who are still undecided (we totally get it since there are a lot of songs to choose from), but your first prompt must be decided by May 20, 2024, when sign ups close (you can do an additional prompt if you want to after this date, but the first must be fulfilled).

You may only claim one prompt at a time. If you decide to change your prompt, please let us know. You cannot claim two prompts; one must be fulfilled before you claim the other.

Collaborations are welcome!

Betas are not required to submit to the fest, though you're more than welcome to use an outside beta if you'd like (and there are other participants in the Discord server happy to help out).

There is a 1,000 word minimum for all submitted fics. There is no maximum.

This fest does allow darker themes (including dead dove: do not eat), but we require that all works be tagged appropriately and sensitively. This fest is an 18+ fest.

All submissions are due on June 24, 2024, by 11:59 PM EST. If you need an extension or to drop out, please let the fest mods know ASAP so we can adjust the posting schedules.

“Mum, dad? Can I talk for a second?” Albus Potter stood in the doorway of his parent’s bedroom. Ginny looked up from her book and smiled at her son.

“Of course, Al.” She patted the bed in front of her. “What’s up?”

Albus took a deep breath, sitting precariously on the edge of his parent’s oversized bed. His father had joined his mother sitting up, and now both sets of eyes were watching their son’s every move. “I don’t really know how to say it.”

“Take your time.” Ginny shifted, glancing at her husband.

A minute of silence and the teen spoke again. “You know Scorpius?”

“Malfoy,” it wasn’t a question, but Albus nodded in response to his father’s statement.

“Malfoy.” He confirmed. “He and I… Well, we aren’t just friends.” Harry and Ginny shared a glance. Albus couldn’t tell if it was amusement, surprise, confusion, or disgust. Maybe a mixture.

“We know.” Harry spoke up. Ginny nudged him.

“How?” Albus didn’t really know what he was expecting from his parents. He thought maybe they would have gotten mad, maybe screamed at him. His father may have been even more ashamed of having him as a son. Maybe they would have told him he didn’t know what he was feeling. Either way, the one thing the teen hadn’t expected was that they knew.

“We may be old, but we’re not blind, Al.” His mother laughed. “We’ve seen the way you two look at each other. Your dad and I were young once, believe it or not. We know the signs.” Albus tried not to think about his mum thinking about his dad the way Albus thought about Scorpius.

“How close have you two gotten?” Harry entered back into the conversation.

Albus turned Weasley red. “Why are you asking about my sex life, dad?” Harry was speechless.

Ginny burst out laughing, while Harry turned almost as red as his son. “I don’t think he meant to. Your father was asking whether you just have a crush on him or if you’re dating.”

“We’re dating.” Albus’ confidence returned to him. “Have been for about eight months.” Ginny and Harry exchanged another smirk, seeing the look on their son’s face as he talked about his boyfriend.

“Why didn’t you tell us sooner?”

“I didn’t know how you would react. Dating Scorpius is taboo.” His parents looked confused, so he continued. “For one, Scorpius is a guy. I didn’t know how you would react to that. Also, he’s a Malfoy.”

“Oh, honey. Scorpius being a Malfoy doesn’t matter. Your father is perfectly civil with Draco. As long as Scorpius makes you happy, we’re happy.” Ginny kicked her husband lightly under the blanket, prompting him to agree with her.

Harry gritted his teeth. “Of course, that’s all that matters.” He got more comfortable. “As for him being a bloke, I really don’t have any room to tell you off in that category.” Harry rubbed the back of his neck, exchanging another look with his wife. He had been wanting to tell his children for some time, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Albus’ eyes grew wide as realization dawned on him. “You don’t mean… you’re gay?”

“Bi.” Harry corrected him. “I’m married to, and very much in love with, a witch, if you haven’t noticed. But no, I’m not straight.”

Seemingly having forgotten all about his situation, Albus pried his father for information. “Have you ever dated a bloke?” Harry shook his head. “So then, how do you know?”

“How did you know, before Scorpius?” Figuring he was too far gone to keep anything from his son, Harry responded honestly. “I’ve kissed guys and had crushes.”

“Who have you kissed?” Albus looked like he was in the middle of watching the best movie he’d ever seen.

“That’s on a need to know basis, actually.”

“Come on, dad. I won’t judge.” He pleaded, his voice coming dangerously close to whining. “At least tell me if it’s someone I know. Do you know, mum?” He directed his efforts to Ginny.

“Of course I do.”

“Please tell me!”

“Can’t do that.” Ginny smirked.

“Why not!” The fourteen-year-old Potter fell dramatically onto his parent’s bed.

Albus’ show and his parent’s laughter attracted the attention of his siblings.

“What’s going on?” James came around the corner, toweling his messy hair after a shower. Lily wasn’t far behind.

Albus smirked. Even after all these years, Harry was putty in Lily’s hands. Albus knew he, or more likely Lily, could worm the answers he wanted out of his father now. “Dad likes blokes.”

“Ah, finally fessed up, did you, dad?”

“It wasn’t some well-protected secret,” Harry began before his youngest son cut him off.

“Wait - you knew? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I figured it out on my own about two years ago. Despite being the resident straight of the family, I pride myself on my ability to detect when other people aren’t. Dad’s been unknowingly out to me since fourth year.” James smirked at his father’s raised eyebrow. “Though I will hand it to you, Al, dad was a lot harder to catch onto than mum. I had her labeled by the time I turned thirteen.”

Ginny cleared her throat, sharing yet another look with her husband. “‘Labeled’ as what, exactly?” She opened her arms and Lily snuggled up next to her.

“If you weren’t sickeningly in love with dad, I’d say you’d be married to a girl for sure.”

“You’re right,” Ginny answered. “I’m not straight, and if you must know, I do have a preference for women, but that doesn’t mean it’s your place to say that. And I wouldn’t trade my life and your dad for anything.”

James just shrugged.

“The point, Al” Harry cleared his throat, “Is that your mum and I love you and will love whoever you love, even if they are a Malfoy.”

Albus rolled his eyes. “Okay, dad. But don’t think you’re getting away without telling me who you’ve kissed.”

“Dad’s only kissed mum, Alby!” Lily chimed in from between her parents.

Laughter erupted from the rest of the family as Harry kissed the top of his daughter’s head and then leaned over to kiss his wife, much to the protest of his sons.

Victoire

Victoire looks a lot like Fleur when she’s younger and grows to look like her Tante Gabrielle, especially after having children. She’s tall and beautiful, and she grows into her curves and figure.

I would say her personality is a lot like Bill’s and he hates it lol. She’s a rebel with a cause and also a mother hen to her siblings. She does come off as a bit standoffish like Fleur can, but she means well in the end.

I would say she is the most like Ginny, headstrong and stubborn and not afraid to fight for her own rights and happiness.

Dominique

She looks so much like Fleur, just throw on some freckles and a wild mass of red curls she likes to call her lion mane. She is tiny and is often mistaken for being the premee baby of her siblings, not the one that was over ten pounds.

She is just like Bill, a Weasley through and through. She makes fast and rash decisions and it does bite her in the ass, but she grows from it

Speaking of which, I would say she is most like Percy. When it comes down to it, he is defined by his two biggest moments in canon, leaving and coming back. Dominique is made of the same stuff, fitting for the godfather/goddaughter duo

Louis

If you held up a photo of Louis and Bill at sixteen, even Molly would have trouble telling who was who.

He is quiet and calm and delicate, Fleur’s baby through and through. He loves art and to dance and to live his life the way he wants to, even if he has to burn some bridges

Not only is he named after Charlie, they are great friends and pen pals. Louis takes after Charlie like a duck to water and they both enjoy it

Molly

She looks like Audrey, but with those Weasley freckles and brown eyes and that unmistakable shade of gingery-orange hair. Really she and Lucy are the perfect mix of their parents

Molly is so bright and happy and hopeful, very much like her mother and the Hufflepuffs she finds kinship with. She has had so much pain and sadness thrown on her that she needs some happiness and lightness in her life

She’s like George, they both have this warmth and happiness they can bring out of themselves while also holding onto a deep trauma

Lucy

She looks like Percy the same way Molly looks like Audrey. She does have Audrey’s blue eyes but Percy’s eyesight and she does tend to walk a little taller than she really is, but sometimes she needs that extra confidence

Lucy is very emotional, she’ll cry at the drop of a pin and her moods change so quickly from happy to sad to confused to happy to angry, she tends to just let everything out because for so long Molly didn’t or couldn’t

Lucy takes after her “Uncle” Oliver Wood, one of her dad’s closest friends and quite the emotional man (when it comes to his Quidditch team lol)

Freddie

He looks like George, a bit tanner and a little taller, but he looks just like George.

Freddie is a bit troublesome, but not as bad as his dad. He’s playful and silly, but has a tendency to doubt himself at times. He loves deeply and fiercely and will fight for those he does love. He’s a good son to his parents even if he made them grandparents much too young

He takes after Ron really, his confidence goes up and down and he can crack a good joke while being in love with the smartest girl he knows

Roxanne

She looks like her Aunt Roxie, but with some dark red curls she loves to braid and play with

Like her brother she is a bit troublesome and does have some confidence issues. Her issues manifest into a horrible eating disorder and an abusive relationship, but through a lot of work and love she comes out on top

I really feel like she takes after Hermione, she’s stubborn and headstrong and used to being listened to as the smartest person in the room, but her insecurities do hold her back at times

Rose

She looks like Ron, red hair and blue eyes, freckles and that playful smile, but Hermione’s curls and her short stature

Her personality is a great mix of her parents, the good and the bad. She also tends to mother hen her cousins, which they jump on and take advantage of at times

She takes after Harry, he’s her godfather and uncle and in many ways her third parent. She learns so much from him and he’s a great source of comfort to her

Hugo

He looks like Hermione, but he does have the Weasley red hair and he’s sooo tall, the tallest of the Weasley grandsons with only Louis within inches of him

He’s happy, he’s hyper, he loves to have fun and joke around but come exam times, his head is in the books and won’t come out until it’s all over. He is very competitive, but who can blame him when he wants to be the smartest person despite his set backs

He’s like Fred, funny and sweet but sometimes with a mean streak that he hates and a hyperness that holds him back until he overcomes it

James

James is the perfect mix of Harry and Ginny, he has the messy red hair and tan skin and brown eyes and freckles and lanky limbs that are both Potter and Weasley

He is definitely a goof ball, but also has a heart of gold. He is protective and loving and often doesn’t think before he talks, but it doesn’t matter because he’s so good and honest to those he loves. He has made his mistakes, but he honors them and lives up to his names and the men his mother named him after

He is very much like Bill, taking the weight of all the family in his shoulders with pride and love even if he sometimes puts his foot in his mouth

Al

He looks just like Harry, but he had freckles on his nose and cheeks and it reminds Ginny of Fred. She will never compare her second son’s looks to Harry, always her brothers

Al is dramatic and moody and always rolling his eyes, but he loves his family and gets along with everyone despite his dramatics. Rose is his ride or die and she is the reason he made it to adulthood and he knows it

Honestly, I want to say he’s most like Ginny, but if I can’t pick a parent I would say Percy. He is a bit high strung and prideful, he’s ambitious and wanting from the world, but his family comes first over and over and over again

Lily

Merlin she looks like Ginny, she has hazel eyes like her grandfather James and can’t see anything closer than her outstretched hand without her glasses, but honestly she and Ginny could be twins if they were the same age

She is a bit of a brat, being the only girl in her immediate family and then the youngest granddaughter, she takes full advantage of being the baby. But she does grow up and levels out and becomes more than just her wants. She ends up finding a peacefulness in being unknown and called out on her more selfish behavior, and it’s good for her to see reality a bit

He takes after her Grandad Arthur, taking interest in something small but oh so important to her and finding her own ways to be brave and just in front of not only herself and others. She also takes a bit of happiness in hiding away at times, even if she’s always watching

Bonus:

Scorpius

He looks like Draco, but Astoria’s features have made there way in. It’s in the slight tan of his skin tone and the curls of his white blond hair, but otherwise he is all Malfoy

He is literally the kindest and sweetest person, sure he’s also ambitious and cunning, but people notice his presence through his polite and kind demeanor

He takes after Theodore Nott, who has proven himself to be kind and wholesome and a great father. He loves every lost child that comes into his home and has made his home open and accessible to anyone that needs a place to stay, but especially his children’s friends

June Prompt #30: School

“Hey Lily-Love, how was school today?” Harry asked his daughter. He had just picked her up from the muggle primary school he and Ginny send the kids to. “Why is school so boring?” Lily whined. “School isn’t boring….. You want to go to Hogwarts, right? That’s a school.” Harry replied. “But at Hogwarts, I can make things fly, and today I learnt about Gravity.” She declared. “You have a good point.” Harry admitted, chuckling. “C’mon, let’s go home.” He said. “Ok.” Lily reluctantly took his hand and followed him to the apparition point.

They apparated home and were greeted by the sight of James covered by flour all over his body. Giggling, Lily asked, “What happened?” “We were trying to make cookies, but someone spilled all the flour.” Ginny answered, glaring at James. With a sigh, Harry pulled out his wand and vanished all the flour over James. “Scourgify.” “Thanks, Dad!” “How you’re so messy is beyond me.” Shaking his head, Harry goes into the sitting room, while Lily stays to help her mother clean up the rest of the mess.

“Out, James!” Ginny condescends him. “Sorry, mum…” He mumbles, head bowed and eyes not meeting his mother’s. Ginny’s face softens. “It’s alright, Jamie. How about you go play chess with Al? Merlin knows he needs to come out his room sooner or later.” She suggests. Sighing, she decides that cleaning the kitchen by hand will be much more satisfactory than doing it by magic. She hands Lily a cleaning rag and gets to work. “Here, why don’t you clean the counters?” “Ok!” Ginny smiles at her daughter’s cheeriness. While there would be trouble in their house at times, she knew these little moments were special, and she cherished them all the same, even when she was mad.

The child of true love or a new prophecy During the war, Harry and Hermione got together. "We live here and now, tomorrow may not come."A passionate teenage romance was fruitfull with Hermione's pregnancy. Whether other characters know about this is up to the authors of the fanfiction. A girl was born. (for the convenience of presenting the idea I will call her Lily, but the name can be another). For some reason, Harry and Hermione lose her (not of their own free will), for example, she was kidnapped, Harry and Hermione were fooled that the child died, they forgot about her. The main thing is that the reason should be valid, and not that Harry and Hermione sent the child to an orphanage so as not to offend Ron and Ginny. Further victory, but Harry and Hermione's relationship is collapsing, they could not cope with the grief of losing a child. if they forgot about the existence of their daughter - other reasons for the cooling of relations. Harry and Hermione tried to start life with a blank slate, perhaps even got along with the younger Weasleys. But there was no love. Perhaps it coul be good family relationship, but no more. Harry still loves Hermione, Hermione also loves Harry, but they try to put aside their feelings because they don't want to go through the pain they experienced during the war again. Note* I admit that Harry and Hermione could have been married to someone else, but the final pairing should be Harry and Hermione, and in other marriages there can only be sons (both Harry and Hermione have only one daughter). Everything would be fine, but little Lily lived in very difficult conditions. Shelters, abusive foster families. It all ended with the fact that at the age of 10 she escaped from social supervision. And she's been wandering ever since. That's why she didn't go to Hogwarts. Lily embodies the traits of both her parents. She is quite impulsive and categorical. And so she wandered for 4 years (at the time of the events she was 14 years old). She was malnourished, spent the night in abandoned houses, etc. A child who never felt love, care, did not understand she is needed for anyone. She is a very kind person who had to fight for her life alone. Somehow she attracts the attention of the Ministry of Magic./Aurora. It turns out whose daughter she is. Harry and Hermione are in shock. In their opinion, they let their child down so much. Now they're trying to act like her parents. Lily takes it with hostility . She believes that her parents betrayed her, abandoned her. They appeared when she learned to live without them. But in addition to fighting for their daughter, Harry and Hermione must deal with a new prophecy, according to which Lily will be at the center of a new war. The new threat is at the discretion of the authors. New death eaters, Dolphins, the war against Muggles. How our heroes will cope with new challenges and become a family, we will learn from the fanfiction on this prompt.

Calling all writers, artists, and video editors! Below are important dates, rules, and information you'll need to know if you'd like to join in with us. This fest is focused on The Tortured Poets Department — Taylor Swift's newest full-length album released on April 19, 2024.

This fest is open to ALL Harry Potter generations including Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen. All pairings are welcome!

We've also created a little community of participants on Discord to help with round tabling and creativity. We'd love if you joined us! This is an 18+ only fest.

✨ Creating

All ships from all generations are welcome (Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen). This is not a ship-specific or generation-specific fest.

There is a minimum word count of 1,000 words for all submitted fics. For podfics, the recorded story should be a minimum of 1,000 words. There is no maximum for either fics or podfics.

Multi-chapter fics are allowed, but you must finish the first chapter of the fic by the submission deadline.

All works must be tagged appropriately! In light of the mental health topics alive and real in this album, please consider yourself, your fellow participants, and your readers when discussing any themes on mental health in your works.

I know the general consensus is that Teddy isn't a full werewolf but have we considered combining the concepts of metamorphmagus AND full werewolf Teddy bc the idea of an electric blue werewolf with mismatched limbs of multiple different animals tearing up the forest on a full moon is absolutely sending me

We're losing so much potential here including the idea of Teddy embracing his lycanthopy as something that brings him closer to his dad rather than rejecting it and being afraid of himself
