things i want from ncuti gatwa’s era of doctor who because thinking about it is keeping me up at night
ruby sunday is from earth, but a different time period, preferably the 1960s because having her be from the time of the show’s creation next to a modern black doctor would just be awesome
rose noble becomes a companion!! please!!!! poc trans woman companion who was raised by donna noble what more could you need in your life!!!!
companions from different eras and planets, i cannot stress this enough. why the fuck does the doctor always go to britain in whatever year the show is airing, it’s excusable for a while because of the great characters but at this point it’s just weird and leads to companions like ryan and graham seeming boring when compared to those like jack harkness, nardole and river song. i want an ancient greek companion, or a companion from the year 55232749, or one of those cat people or something, anything! just make it exciting!
i just want it to feel like rtd doctor who. can’t describe it but you know what i mean, i’m not a 13 era hater but it’s just not the same show!
show me clara and ashildr. show me river song. show me captain john hart. show me jenny. show me martha jones. show me madam vastra. as long as it’s fun and it serves the story, all the characters who were teased to come back or we haven’t seen in a while, let them come back!!!
JINKX MONSOON AS THE MASTER PLEASE I COULD DIE HAPPY HAVING A DRAG QUEEN PLAY THE MASTER IM LITERALLY BEGGING YOU
scrap the timeless child thing idec just retcon it, absolutely not
give the doctor a canonical male love interest!!! doctorjackrose and thasmin walked so mlm ncuti gatwa doctor could SPRINT are you picking up what i’m putting down
please add yours in comments and reblogs i really want to know what other people want to see!!

Can't we just live in the present...of what we have... while we still have it?
So ever since LOTSD first aired we've lived with the knowledge that matters between 13 and Yaz weren't really going to go any farther than they had by that point. Much of our mental and emotional energies then became focused on what would happen between them at or near the end, and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that we were pretty disappointed, to say the least.
For me personally, the past year and a half or so of my involvement with the Doctor Who/Thirteenth Doctor/Thasmin fandom has been depressing at times because, once we knew the end was coming, the potential futures became fewer and smaller, if that makes any sense. Prior to this, we were so invested in the very gradual buildup of the feelings between them, so anxious for what might happen in the next episode, so eager to see if/when it would all be brought to fruition. The future was a wide-open unknown, and we were just enjoying the ride; as the saying goes, it's not the destination, it's the journey. But once we knew the journey was nearing its end and that the destination wasn't quite what we wanted it to be, I imagine that for some of us there was a sense of pointlessness, of disappointment, of having been on a ride that, while we did have some influence on what road the car might take (witness how Thasmin first came to Chibbs' et al attention), we were never the ones actually driving the car.
Funny thing though...
I'm starting to feel a new lease on life, so to speak, regarding this ride. And it comes down to a coupla things Chibbs said on that podcast:
"it could have been ten years"
"who said it didn't happen at some point"
Basically, we know how the story ends, but by him saying these things it kinda-sorta "canonizes" the idea that a lot might have happened between them during the undetermined period of time between LOTSD and TPOTD. Potentially there's ten years' worth of adventures, sometimes with Dan, sometimes without; ten years' worth of meeting famous figures from history; ten years' worth of stopping by flat 34 at the Park Hill estate for tea; ten years' worth of friendship, of occasional arguments, of the joy felt in one another's company, of the sadness for what is to come, of maybe holding hands, of looking at each other in a certain way, of testing boundaries, of saying the things that need to be said.
So until the BBC, Big Finish, or whomever gets around to "officially" filling in what happened during those potential ten years, it's up to us to tell the story of them living in the present of what they had while they still had it.

first thoughts here:D
so like i still respect and love chibnall for all the changes her did bc he did so much for the fandom and doctor who... BUT how the FUCK do you fuck up with both yaz's and the doctor's endings? like the doctor didn't tell yaz ANYTHING???? how could yaz just simply AGREE on "i need to do the next beat alone"?? how the HELL there is no kiss not even a GOODBYE HUG??? like why making thasmin canon if you DON'T elaborate on this? only for 2 eps to explicitly talk about this? i can't believe that we got nothing???

imagining an alternate eotd where when asked about her confusing gay crush under threat of daleks one neuron in yazs brain fired differently and instead of going with "i dont know what you mean" she said "yes". same but opposite energy of when the doctor asks if shes a bad date and yaz super boldly just says "no". same but opposite.
because like imagine youre dan. he probably already had a good guess about what the situation was but his assumption being wrong is not out of the realm of possibilities. the idea that they could have talked about is not out of the realm of possibilities! if youre dan! if you just got here. if you didnt see all of s12.
like just imagine that scene! yaz just baldfaced lying as a way to like, bounce the idea off of him plus double duty to affirm her own beliefs that like the doctor never would plus triple duty paralleling 11x4 for 13 to ensure dan is never gonna ask about this again.
and WE'D KNOW. WE'D FUCKING KNOW. it'd be such a doctor move.
"have you ever told her?" "told her what?" "how you feel about her" "...yes." "well what did she say?" "i think you can guess" yaz snaps because she thinks she can. she has guessed or assumed or sort of correctly inferred a while ago that like, nothing is going to happen here, theres no point in her saying anything because the doctor isnt interested. and dan is like "i find her kind of hard to judge actually" because he still wants to hear an actual answer from yaz but yaz just laughs and goes "tell me about it" and then shes saved by a dalek.
of course we still want dan forcing their hand but thats easy to arrange by instead of him going all battering ram with "she likes you" in the next scene he just has to mention it. and i dont really know how he'd mention it because im not really sure how this would look to him.
so particulars to be determined but he does mention it In Some Way and now theres the doctor in a situation yaz indirectly accidentally put her in where shes suddenly having a Lot to process and also shes gonna lie about :) shes gonna lie about it so hard :)
maybe dan's guess is that whatever the doctor said was less-than-definitive ie vague as fuck because hes known her for like a week and has already seen how good she is at explaining herself and also because of yazs bitter "tell me about it" so maybe what he says is like "you better not be stringing her along"
and the doctor, in her perfectly inscrutable grey area between true What The Fuck Are The Humans Talking About This Time and a carefully crafted mask of obliviousness, goes "string her along what"
"i just mean that you gotta make sure your intentions are clear because it's really not fair to keep her guessing, and hoping"
and the doctor says "i dont understand what youre saying dan" because she really doesnt <3
and dan can still say his canon line "i think that you do, but you pretend that you dont" and in this case hes wrong, but he still hits the mark, wrong calculation right answer because the doctor is still like Fuck.
because she does know, of course. she does know about yaz and shes knows about herself and she knows what shes avoiding. and she will still do the same thing in sea devils. and this weird little lie yaz told will probably never come out. the doctor and her talk, dan isnt there, never sees how New this all is. the doctor has no reason to find out what yaz said to dan.
but we know. we know!!! we get to see this whole comedy of errors play out and still somehow arrive at the same answer. we have to live with how clearly none of them correctly assume each other's understanding of the situation. it'd be frustrating as fuck and such a nice encapsulation of what thasmin has been since the beginning. these half-communications that bounce off each other kind of painfully like billiard balls.
they would never find out. sea devils and potd play out exactly as they did and nobody would ever know. except us. it's a portrait of their shared fatal flaw finally laid out for us in broad daylight at the exact moment they come together. and only we can see it.

hi! 👋 13, 16, and 18 for the choose violence ask game?
and also, im so unbelievably hype for the next chapter of the game - ending the last chapter on “I trust you, harry” was so rude 👀👀👀
Thank you! It was rude, I'm so sorry 😅 But I'm hoping the next chapter more than makes up for it 👀👀
13. Worst blorboficiation?
Answered here. 😁
16. You can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
I already took a pot shot at Thasmin, so uhhh - the Timeless Child backstory? I can't tell you how much I dislike that retcon, and what it does to my understanding of the Doctor and their development as a person. I realise Doctor Who as a show doesn't have solid canon, but I just intensely dislike this particular rewrite. It's also obvious that no new showrunners would agree to take it forward, since it ended with the Doctor/other characters neatly wiping memory and sweeping it all under the rug, presumably because RTD took one look and went, "...Uhm, no." And, don't get me wrong, I'm in agreement with him, but it then feels like three whole seasons of character development and dramatic reveal... wasted. I don't know, the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.
18. It's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...
Saxteen. Give me more. 🙃

it’s actually kinda funny every time i see people bitch about thasmin, a ship where both characters are canonically queer, for it being queerbaiting and just trying to trick ppl into watching the show bc ~diversity and not following through (queerbaiting is Not the phenomenon of a ship not making out. Sorry. That’s just run of the mill ship wank but gay) when i’d argue that them announcing the next doctor as a black man, taking praise for their diversity for a week before announcing a middle aged white dude is Back to play the doctor in a way that offers Zero clarifying information in way more of a hype announcement than the other guy got (he didn’t get as much of an announcement as much as he got a footnote. Capaldi got a whole live tv show. Whittaker got a tiny tv spot and people thought she was getting short changed. But that’s Nothing to what they did to Gatwa), and then Conveniently leave it a few months to say ‘actually nooo Gatwa’s not the next doctor, it’s this white man. We absolutely didn’t mention this in the first place so you’d not call us out for the actual legitimate lies we told you about this casting situation’ is uh. That thing you’re mad at. Actually there.
In between announcement 1 and tpotd airing and them Immediately saying ‘btw it’s actually this white guy we hired, not the man we told you about’ they filmed a Mastermind episode, and one of the questions in the general knowledge round was asking “who has been announced as the next doctor?” The answer was, of course, Gatwa. Because they lied, and the question setter did not know that yet. Who the fuck knows their reasoning for this clusterfuck, but even if it Was just straight up utter stupidity rather than calculated maliciousness, it was absolutely not okay.

It turns out that the real The Power of The Doctor was the friends we made along the way. Anyhow, here are some hot thoughts:
I thought the train heist child was the baby Doctor but it was not.
Dan just sort of left but given the situation that’s probably for the best.
Traitor Daleks? It’s just like traitor Phyrexians! wait oh no the streams are crossing early abort abort
Ace Ace Ace Ace Ace Ace
I guess Tegan and Kate are also there.
Ma-ma-ma-master, Master of the Russian King, they will obey him.
That was a real Death Star looking planet.
Master just casually chatting with Yaz.
Master just casually insult formor companions and Kate.
I think Sarah Jane handled it with a little more grace honestly.
Surprise Vinder action.
UNIT getting completely owned by the Master again.
Also Ashad is back and still in the Master’s shadow. What a loser.
Didn’t expect the Master’s true plan to steal the Doctor’s life.
Master just casually creating a new wacky Doctor outfit.
Yaz kicking ass and flying the TARDIS.
Classic Doctors? In modern Doctor Who? It’s more likely than you’d think.
Doctor holograms becoming solid looking when the big emotion occured yes!
Bonus Graham action!
Wish we had more Master!Doctor action.
I was worried that the unregeneration would overshoot past Thirteen all the way to Ten. That would be Very Stupid.
wow the Master kept going how surprise.
surely he is finally dead, a mild drag away from his TARDIS full of stolen Time Lord technology.
kind of sudden regeneration moment but maybe that’s... better?
Thasmin Is Left Sort Of Unresolved 2022?
There was a bridal carry from danger moment which was very nice however.
Ex-companion support group is a cool idea.
Ian Ian Ian Ian Ian Ian
Mel (?) is also there.
Now I suspected what would happen at the end and yeah I hate it.
Go forward not backwards the point of regeneration is going foward.
also why did the clothes regenerate.
I want Ncuti Gatwa not “Ten”. Ten is overdone.
emergency trailer with the real next Doctor hopefully suggests recurrence of Ten will be swiftly dealt with.
Overall, I liked it. Yeah, it had it’s messy bits, like all of Thirteen’s run. But it was a pretty high note to leave on, with some fun callbacks and “hey we have a big canon“ moments. Perhaps not the best of the specials, but definitely not the worst by a long shot.

fic writer 20 questions!
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
30! all one-shots
2.  what's your total AO3 word count?
111,322
3. what fandoms do you write for?
Most recently it's been only Doctor Who (thasmin my loves <3), but ATLA and Torchwood are also frequently written for. I've done a few for one-off fandoms like Pirates of the Caribbean, Psycho-Pass, She-ra (2018) as well, and hopefully sometime next year will be adding another fandom to this list!
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
All ATLA works that I wrote during 2020, so of course they got high, lol. Instead of listing those out, I'm going to give the top fic in each fandom I've wrote more than one fic for, just for some fandom variety:
ATLA: give it oxygen
Doctor Who: in another time
POTC: Call of the Sea
Torchwood: inconvenient situations
5. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
I do normally, because I love comments and getting to thank/discuss stuff with people, but this year I've been really bad at it (a massive flare of social anxiety) but hoping to catch up with all of the ones I've gotten before the end of the year!
6. what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Maybe ice cream, if only because that's canon compliant to TPOTD which of course has Yaz and the Doctor part forever. Otherwise, I don't really do super angsty endings, more like gentle future angst reminders (more so for the thasmin fics because that's just the vibe I love doing for them).
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Maybe summer blooms, my atla maiko opus, since the ending being happy is a pretty big part of that fic.
8. do you get hate on fics?
No, thankfully.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
Not really that kind of writer! If anything, I prefer vague metaphors/implications.
10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written 11. have you ever had a fic stolen? 12. have you ever had a fic translated? 13. have you ever cowritten a fic before?
As with @dancingonmoonbeams who I got this game off of, I'll group these together since the answer's no to all.
14. what's your all-time favorite ship?
Probably Yaz and the Thirteenth Doctor tbh. Though Mai and Zuko hold a very special place in my heart (I blog more of them over on my other blog @drowning-in-cacophony ).
15. what's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
My Finnick survives AU fic for The Hunger Games! It's a one-shot but it's giving me the worst trouble and I've been stuck on it for like two years. I'd love to do it though, since it's mostly about Annie (her POV too) and I love her.
16. what are your writing strengths?
I'd say metaphors, interesting sentences that stick in people's heads, and characterisation too.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
I think my work often ends up 'top heavy', where the top will be full of descriptions and actions and build up, and comparitively the ending is a little shorter of a stop.
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't know another language, and I wouldn't want to butcher one with a translating energy. If I needed another language, I think I'd do the whole 'they said in [language] but written in english' thing.
19. first fandom you wrote for?
Agents of SHIELD, back in my ff.net days!
20. favorite fic you've ever written?
I love all my fics so, so dearly, but. maybe blue hour for thasmin? That fic reads like my dream fic honestly. (which is what I wanted when I wrote it)
tagging any mutuals/followers who want to do this!

What are your thoughts on Power of the Doctor?
Okay, so, this is probably gonna be long, but here we go!
Likes:
The Master dancing to 'Rasputin'. Absolute comedy gold, especially the 'WTF' look the Dalek and Cyberman shared.
Companions Anonymous! I can't wait to read the fanfics of that, especially the inevitable 'Ian tells everyone how he was kidnapped by the Doctor, and he once had to stop him from beating a caveman to death with a rock'.
Ace and Tegan getting closure with "their" Doctors.
Ace's fall-out with the Doctor being vague. I just really like that all the spin-off material with her can still be considered canon.
Ace and Tegan just being badasses in general.
Kate seeing the inside of the TARDIS! Up to that point, I hadn't even realized she hadn't been inside the TARDIS before.
Yaz getting some BAMF moments, like flying the TARDIS (with Post-It notes!), defeating the Master, and carrying the Doctor back to the TARDIS.
The Master insulting Tegan - like, bringing up her Aunt Vanessa and "Do you keep her in a dolls house?" was so below the belt, but very in character for him, lol.
And bouncing off that, Ace basically just retorting "Furry!" at him, and the Master just, like, having to take it, lol.
Thirteen's final words were so sweet. "Tag, you're it."
Also, the Doctor finally learning not to regenerate inside the TARDIS? Excellent character development, lol.
Dislikes:
Tegan/Nyssa apparently not being canon? An easy fix though, as we can always assume Nyssa was off at a medical conference or something, and Tegan will tell her all about the bat-shit crazy mess when she gets back.
No Thasmin kiss? Really? Granted, I'm not really a shipper of it, but if you're going to make this pairing canon, give the fans (and poor Yaz) something.
Just how Yaz's departure was handled in general. I would have much preferred something similar to Martha's departure, say, Yaz asking the Doctor something personal, the Doctor deflecting as usual, and Yaz finally reaching her breaking point, realizing I deserve better than this. After what happened at the end of 'Legend of the Sea Devils', I really thought that was the direction they were going.
Also, the implication that Yaz will not still love/get along with the Doctor after they regenerate just seems . . . insulting to me? Like, look what happened with Rose. She was initially wary when 9 regenerated into 10, but she got past it and realized they were still the Doctor and continued to love him. Just . . . to me, it didn't paint Yaz in a good light.
The Master's plan being so freaking convoluted. Remove the Daleks and the Cybermen, and you still get a solid, holy shit he is really freaking dangerous plan.
Also, it just would've made more sense for them to do a full body-swap? Sacha Dhawan and Jodie Whittaker are talented enough actors that they could have played it convincingly. Having Yaz slowly realize that the woman standing in front of her, apparently suddenly flirting with her, is not the Doctor would have been amazing and really added to her later BAMF moment.
And now, the regeneration. I'm not really thrilled Thirteen regenerated into 10.3 (yeah, not calling him Fourteen). I was really excited for Ncuti, and it just feels a bit insulting to him and Jodie. This was Jodie's last episode, and all anyone's really talking about is Tennant's return. Plus, it kind of takes away from Ncuti being the first black Doctor. To me, it just rubs the wrong way. Having said that though, I AM excited to see what the heck is going on with that unexpected regeneration. It didn't seem like a normal regeneration, and I'm eager to see how it all plays out in the 60th anniversary specials next year!

5, 19, and 27 for ao3 wrapped! (- thinkingisadangerouspastime)
[A03 wrapped ask game]
Thanks for the ask, Amy! 💛💛 @thinkingisadangerouspastime . As usual I rambled on a bit, but I can't help myself when it comes to writing!
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?
A fic I wrote for thasmin (13th doctor/her companion yaz)! My fic blue hour, which also happens to be my favourite fic I've published all year. It's a quiet, introspective sort of bed sharing fic - not much plot or actual conversation between the two. It's a thoughtful piece without that emotional or romantic peak, so I didn't know if people would be interested as much as one where they confronted their feelings. But the reception was so overwhelming - I had such nice comments of people who really got what I was trying to say with the piece, and just such nice compliments too. It really warmed me, because this really is my favourite fic, so the fact that I got so much more feedback than expected/hoped for is just so perfect.
[for anyone interested: I do my thasmin/dw blogging from @my-ghost-monument]
19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?
This one's sort of at a draw, actually, between maiko (my beloved) and thasmin (also my beloved). Obviously, my love of maiko is a consistent thing, and there are two works from my mai week fics (here and here) which intrigue me to what could come next, and I'd like to explore those opportunities - especially since they're both au's, so there's a lot of different things to play around with there. How do our beloved couple come together like they do in canon in an alternative universe?
With thasmin, their end on doctor who has just come and gone, but I've still got so much I want to explore with them. There's a lot of missing scenes I want to build in (especially with the knowledge of when they canonically confess their feelings, meaning to be canon compliant I can't have them do it earlier, but can build so close to it, which excites me).
But, as a really weird wild card, I keep getting some slight ideas for batcat - i.e. Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle from the dc universe. Very surprising to me, but recently I've found myself sort of dipping into the dc fandom and found that there's not much batcat fic out there that hits the exact vibe I'm looking for, and you know what they say: if you don't see what you want to read, write it yourself. I don't know if I will get to explore them - I find the dc universe a little hard to get to grips with honestly, and I'm never that great at writing about stories that take place in cities (I often just throw a warehouse or alleyway in as every place something happens, and it never feels that smooth) - but I'd like to explore them at least.
27. What do you listen to while writing?
This year I've really been getting into those 'writing playlists', or 'collected feelings' playlists you can find on youtube. You know, the 'your character and their forbidden love dance' or 'people who feel this should listen'. I've found it a great way to discover new vocal music pieces without much effort, and a curated playlist means I don't have to stop and think about what's playing, so I just concentrate on the writing. I don't usually tend to match the emotion/feeling the playlist's about to the scene I'm actually writing - I can use a real somber one for a happy scene, and romantic music for tension - but it's more of what I'm personally feeling at the moment.
And just because I'd like to: the favourite songs I've discovered through these lists are Obvious by CHPTRS, State Lines by Novo Amor and Last Chance also by CHPTRS

the way i`m dying for these two headcanons (13 not knowing about yaz`s crush on her and yaz not knowing about her crush on 13) to be canon so badly. it`s like this feeling is buzzing inside of me bc it suits them perfectly it is them it`s their nature it`s who they are: two idiots who happen to fall in love with each other.
this honest "i haven`t told anyone. not even myself" tho having a conversation like exactly ONE special ago with JACK WHO WAS SCREAMING about his own crush on the doctor; tho 4 years of daily hologram watching; tho all these little gay panic attacks! and! and! it`s getting even better if "i like her too" is interpreted as an actual "i like her"!!! like this little silly time lord who genuinely likes yaz in romantic way tho afraid to tell yaz??? idiots
my blorbos being idiots (affectionately) in love (true) i love them so much

So before I fall asleep and forget panels
Mandip really has loved every minute, talks about how good a "number one" is - Jodie leading the cast in a totally supportive way so everyone had lunch in her trailer just as a matter of course as they talked things out and she looked out for them; she's "the boss" to Bradley Walsh and even he was impressed by how she does that BTS job of kind of being the captain and anchoring/guiding them (Colin Spaul who did classic Who and new mentions there really isn't much time for rehearsal now, unlike the old days, so not a lot of time to plan and experiment)
S11-12 Jodie was 1, Brad 2, Tosin 3, she was 4, and she probably should've been 3 with John Bishop's experience but Jodie said absolutely not; also in scenes without the Doctor Mandip was half jokingly being 1 but had actually learned a lot from Jodie about leading a cast, a lot of bts stuff she'll take with her [parallelling Yaz!] obviously admires her as well as being really good friends
it's Mandip's first con in the states so of course she's getting really competitive trying to beat Barrowman's ribbon collection
she doesn't think of it as work (she said this at the smaller meet & greet) she really does love acting!
Mandip was a little disappointed they had to stay in wales ("I love Wales!" she hastened to add) for s13 after going to S Africa and Tenerife and Bulgaria, but she liked the continuity, getting to work with actors for several stories like past work
Her favorite stunt so far, although they're tiring, was the crane, just because she'd been doing "telly in the kitchen" right before that, and that scene told her right away this was Big (although she didn't like the heights)
upside down isn't as fun as she thought it would be; headache!
She didn't know that yaz was going to fall for the Doctor until she read those lines on the page — she and Jodie were both like "hm, yeah, we can work with this!" —although it was a natural progression. Until then had been playing it that Yaz admired and loved the Doctor in one way or another, but it totally made sense (she talked about falling in love after becoming good friends with someone, and about how Yaz's flashes of anger with the Doctor are because it hurts more when someone you love hurts you; you don't care so much "if it's a bus driver being rude")
Yes, she had her "Thasmin is canon" ribbon; it was the first thing she mentioned, to much applause. Given her by interviewer Riley Silverman
She talked about representation, understanding it as an Asian actor and why it matters to see characters like you on the media you watch.
And it was just a relaxed and comfortable interview. Riley mentioned at lobbycon that Mandip appreciated Riley had really listened to what she said, more than most interviewers do, which Riley noted as sad. [That's the trouble with prepared questions. Riley is a standup comic, so she's better at improv.]
I feel like I should have more for Sacha but his interview was before Mandips and the interviewer's questions weren't as good.
He has tremendous respect for and spent a lot of time with Waris Hussein. (Who said he did a good job, except while watching rehearsal "I was more posh."
Sacha joking about his not-posh Mancunian (Manchester) accent: he's the first Master not to call himself Maaaahst-ah with that initial posh a-sound. He's from a small village in Manchester, misses it.
Talked a lot about variable modes of his Master, that rather than wearing latex masks he rips off, he likes to settle into other roles, other lives, almost as if he's trying to escape being himself — he's the "Master of disguise" and keeps acting in new ways so you're never quite sure which is the real him.
Got down into his mind a little bit, being resentful of not being appreciated, old friends/enemies with the Doctor, etc etc etc.
Suggested a wild idea— with canon changing/refreshing in weird ways — he could be the next Doctor (I almost think he meant his Master; he's still learning the lore. But he was joking around.)
Asked if he had a controversial take on the Master, what he would have his Master say, he kind of curled around the mike and did a tortured "I love you, Doctor" which would have caused several shippers' heads to explode. I'm not sure he is aware of the shipping, although I suspect by the end of this weekend, he'll be informed.
He and the interviewer had mentioned therapy at some point, so they concluded that perhaps s14 should include the Doctor and the Master in couples therapy.
