next gen captain friendship is so goddamn important to me because like. futakuchi yahaba and shirabu are immediately trying to verbally eviscerate each other, kenma's playing video games the whole time, terushima is actively making things worse by cheering for whoever is winning (or losing) the futakuchi-yahaba-shirabu fight, ennoshita has to threaten everyone into behaving, and akaashi wants to go back to tokyo SO BAD but can't because he's too nervous to say that. worst friend group in existence. they're ride or die. they'd sell each other to satan for one corn chip. if one of them needed help hiding a body the others would immediately get a shovel.

You ever think about how Ryne probably got a more honest yet closed-off Thancred while Minfilia got a more disingenuine yet open Thancred?

Like, the Thancred Minfilia knew and grew up with was the one we saw in arr, the flirty, teasing and sassy but friendly man who was clearly not very honest seeing as no one- not even Minfilia- noticed how worn out he was from his constant work. Even just by hw he's noticably more prickly and. not quite rude but. more outwardly cynical? He's always been kinda cynical, but in arr his teasing and banter hides it well, which never disappears but is more. natural? genuine? now. Krile directly points out that he's much more brusque than she expected of him based on how Minfilia described him.

And sure, you could attribute that behaviour to his grief and stress (which is certainly a part of it) but considering he acts much the same in ew, when he's finally moved on and come to terms with everything (and is also post-shb character development), I think it's safe to say that this is the most honest we've seen Thancred be.

But this is all Ryne has known him to be. She's never seen Thancred be flirtatious or as social and friendly as he is in arr, she's only seen him be brusque and cynical but still teasing and kind. But he's also far more closed off from her (and others) bc of That Whole Deal going on. Urianger has told her more about Thancred's true feelings than Thancred himself has. and even that's not a lot, for Urianger is not only not a mind reader and doesn't know everything that goes on on Thancred's head, but also is reluctant to share more than is necessary since it's not his place to divulge these things (and also he himself is not free from the folly of emotional self-isolation).

With Minfilia though, he's open enough that she's never doubted that he cared for and loved her even when he couldn't spend much time with her, and she felt comfortable enough to admonish him when he did his usual self-destructive behaviour (you know, becoming an alchoholic at 17 and All That Entails)

#theres a lot of these parallels between ryne & minfilia in regards to their relationship with thancred #like. the way things are so similar yet so *different* from each other #same same but opposite ya know #like how thancred blames himself for warburtons death and by extention minfilia being orphaned even tho it was in no way his fault #vs how he knowingly took ryne away from ran'jit bc he knew that whatever other life shed live would be better than what she had #when minfilia first experienced the echo thancred knew wat it was but didnt tell her (for circle of knowing related reasons) #whereas he told ryne everything he could in regards to her powers and circumstances #he gifted minfilia her dagger for self-defense but never taught her how to fight #but ryne was not only gifted daggers by him but also taught how to properly fight and fend for herself with them #and he trusted minfilia in the main care of f'lhaminn while he took a more secondary support role #but he assigned himself the primary caretaker for ryne while the others (read: urianger) became secondary ones #(granted due to rynes situation he kinda had no other choice at the time) #(but im sure he wouldve taken the same role even if he could theoretically have safely handed her over to someone else) #also just to be clear thancred IS genuinely social and friendly even hw & up #just not as extroverted #he spends a lot of time either by himself or with fellow scions/other close companions #rather than with whatever lady hes trynna impress next #anyway. yet another day of being Completelt Normal about this complicated family situation #thancred waters #ryne waters #minfilia warde #final fantasy #final fantasy 14 #final fantasy xiv #ff14 #ffxiv #xander rambles #xander being insane about ryne

ngl real missed opportunity by DC to let Harley and Mr. Freeze become friends during her primary villain arc (btas or other) cause tbh I can't imagine he'd enjoy sitting in his cell listening to Joker brag about all the ways he's cruel, abusive and uncaring towards Harley, a woman who loves him, while Victor's entire goal is to save his wife who he loves dearly ya know ???? and it's not like all of them haven't been locked up together, the other rogues Know. Joker's not like most abusers who try to keep it behind closed doors, he's very public with his abuse.

And just that feeling of like "I am doing everything I can to save my wife, I have become a criminal and have done awful things in the name of love and I just want nothing more than to have her back and You Have Someone Who Loves You That Much, That Much To Become A Criminal As Well And You Repay That Love By ABUSING HER."

Vera. Vera! VERA!!

yeah yes okay, hello. I must ramble, please & thank you. I love this. Helli those head references worked like a dream because my stars do I love these sketches.

okok, there's not much content & info about Vera, but it's enough to work with & for me to make theories & headcanons for. And while Helli is resting, I am making it my personal mission to make content of my now favorite oc of Helli's.

I've always loved her when I first stumbled upon her when browsing through older post you've made. I don't say gorgeous often because I use it to describe something in the highest regard & man is Vera FRICKEN GORGEOUS! STARS

So Vera is a therapist (dog) & also one of Big Mama's exes. Vera learns that Big Mama was using her to gain information on her clients. We don't know how she found out of her reaction, but I do know she likes ball dancing. Since Big Mama also dances & hosts parties, I'd imagine she & Vera would dress up for the occasion. Maybe Vera was looking for Big Mama during a party & overhears her true intentions. I don't know how Vera would react (like if she's more of the shocked type, crying while running away type, etc) so I went with bitter frustration after crying for maybe 10 minutes.

In this image, it shows her after the fact, deciding to be bitter for the rest of the night. She avoids Big Mama as much as possible, eventually winding down in a more secluded part of the hotel with some wine. Spilling it on the furniture.

I just wanted to draw her in these dresses I have saved in pinterest lol. Maybe a previous dress she wore on a date with Big Mama? idk. Or maybe the first nicer dress she's worn since learning the truth. She doesn't strike me as the type to go out partying her sorrows away, maybe the night bars she goes to sometimes, but no place that required her to dress nicely. (Also Vera is just stunning in all colors. I didn't even mean to use the color of the dresses to imply emotions lmao, but it happened. She's so cute!!)

Drew something to fill up the page, as you do, & thought of her job as a therapist. And like most office spaces, has a receptionist. And yes, her name is Karen & is indeed one. She's so much of a headache that Vera would need to get to work early to avoid passing her at the front desk. She already has to deal with her while leaving, she doesn't need it at the start of the day.

I adore her, I love her, I love her greatly, she's usurped the rest by miles & I mean MILES. Thank you dear Helli for the head references, I can draw her now. I will draw her until my hands break. I am her biggest fan, no contest, & will challenge those who claim the first title I've ever clamed lmao. If there's no content of her, I'll be the one to make it. STARS SHE'S FUCKING GORGEOUS

Ultraman Blazar's Salutations From Episodes 1-5 (ft. Bazanga, Leviera, and a sleeping Dorgo)

[Video description: Ultraman Blazar, a colossal grey humanoid alien with red and blue markings on his body, and blue markings on his face, performs his signature salutation in several different places and times. This salutation consists of raising his arms up to the sky in a circular motion, and bringing his knee up before stepping into a lunge and scooping his arms down and upward.

From episode 1, in a city at night, the camera watches from below, as Blazar performs his salutation and his markings flash red and blue. The shot cuts to a wider one, showing off the buildings and Blazar's opponent, Bazanga, a prawn-like Kaiju. After his salute, Blazar moves his hands into a guarded, fighting stance.

From Episode 2: Blazar stands against the bright blue day sky in a small fishing village, with much shorter buildings. He faces the camera directly as he does his salutation, and the camera zooms in on him as he does it and his markings flash red and blue once more.

From Episode 3: Blazar is framed in a head and shoulder shot and smothered in smoke as his colour time, a big round spot on his chest that is normally blue, flashes red. Once more he faces the camera as he does his salutation, before flying off, kicking up dirt in his takeoff.

From episode 4: The camera pans over a cityscape, with a highway at the front of the scene. Once more it is night time and Blazar faces off against a monster among many many buildings. The monster is Leviera, a sea-angel themed kaiju whose face is open to reveal flashing yellow lights as Blazar does his salutation from the side. Leviera is aggressively ready to go.

From episode 5: Blazar stands behind the sleeping kaiju, Dorgo, who looks mostly like a hill of dirt in this shot. He performs his salutation, and immediately begins to push the sleeping Kaiju back to its proper resting place. The shot switches to one of Blazar from behind, as he continues to push Dorgo back into place, among the green hills and mountains of the Japanese countryside. With a thump, Dorgo returns to his resting spot, and Blazar turns to face the camera as he jumps up into the air to fly away.
