will this make sense without context? maybe not, but that just means you should read the proof is in the pudding by @star-byrd. In it Obi-Wan has an ostomy, Fox has an ng tube, shenanigans occur as well. a good time.

Cosmetic and Functional Feeding Tubes for all Ages!
Finally finished updating the Infant Feeding Tube to be used with all ages! If you previously downloaded the infant version, delete that file before adding one of these ones (OR BOTH!) to your game.
You can install both the cosmetic and functional feeding tubes at the same time. The functional ones are marked in CAS for easy differentiating. The feeding tube is available for all outfit categories. Your Sim has to be wearing an outfit with the feeding tube for it to work.
Feeding tubes can be found in the face "Medical Wearable" category in CAS. Infants don't have a Medical Wearable category, and their feeding tubes are located in "Piercings".
KNOWN ISSUES: Using need cheats in your household will mess up the functional feeding tube. If this happens, try resetting the affected Sim or reloading the game completely.

I'm getting a NG tube placed and I'm really scared...do you or any of your followers have any tips for how to deal with it?
Hey anon!
I can totally understand feeling anxiety about getting a feeding tube placed, especially since it's something you might have never experienced before and there isn't always a lot of info out there. It is something that you will get through, and it honestly was really easy for me to adjust after a few days.
For me, getting the tube placed was kind of difficult, but not awful. It wasn't painful at all, but had a lot of sensory discomfort. The nurse had me sip water through a straw while she placed it, and that helped. For the first couple hours after the tube was placed, it felt really noticeable and like my throat was irritable. I had a hard time talking and even though I could absolutely breathe easily, it just felt kind of hard. Having cough drops on hand really helped, as well as drinking water and just taking it easy.
The next three days were kind of an adjustment. It still felt noticeable, but much better than the first couple hours. Definitely still have cough drops and water on hand, and also expect your nose to run a lot.
After three days, I honestly couldn't even notice it anymore and the only annoying part was that sometimes the tape would get itchy. I used duoderm tape as a base and that helped a little bit.
Other things that can be helpful is getting a wedge pillow to sleep with, especially if you have continuous overnight feedings. Learning to sleep slightly upright was hard for me, but pillows helped.
I don't really have any tips for managing the flushes or pump because I wasn't in charge of managing my own, but if any followers want to add on please do.
Know that all your feelings about it are valid, and also that the first three days are the hardest and you can get through it! I don't know how long you'll have an NG tube in, but you totally can still do all the activities you're used to doing. There's some things that will be an adjustment, but overall I started having a ton more energy when my nutrient needs were being met.
Please feel free to ask any other specific questions, anon, and wishing you the best!

There’s a possibility that I will have to have an NG tube for a little while. I’ve drawn myself with one to prepare for this. I don’t have time to finish this drawing at the moment, but I wanted to post it before my procedure in the morning. Hopefully that should get us a solid diagnosis, whether it’s confirming this one or creating a new one entirely. Then we will decide on treatment, including whether or not a feeding tube is necessary for my situation.

does anyone have any experience with being able to come off a feeding tube?
i have gastroparesis + comorbidities and have been tube fed for 9ish months. i had an NG for a while, that I stopped tolerating, and now, I have an NJ tube. for the most part, the NJ is great! I'm not malnourished, I feel relatively okay, and I can eat in small amounts
but now my doctors are talking about a J tube, and a J tube feels so permanent. i don't want to be tube fed forever, I want to be able to take things in orally and not be in debilitating pain/nausea after. but every time I eat, I'm reminded of why I have the tube in the first place
so im tryinging to see if anyone has actually had that experience where they were able to get off their tube and go back to 'normal'. or has anyone had their gastroparesis go into remission, or go from severe to mild?
i know it's naive to think one day I could be magically fixed. but I cant put into words how much I hate having to live like this rn

Having a tube forced down my nose was one of the most traumatic experiences I had in hospital.
I tried to draw what I remember but it’s hard when this time of my life is very blurry however I remember exactly how it felt. I was shouting at my mum to tell the doctor to take it out while my body went into shock and lost feeling in all my limbs and I couldn’t move. I was too weak to move so I just had to lie there feeling cold calorie compressed liquids being pushed down the tube.
I will never forgive myself for letting my mum see me in that state.

Pink paci & heart shaped tubie tape 💕
Feeling thankful today that I have a safe space to share these moments. I know how much courage it takes to make such vulnerable posts and share parts of yourself that you thought would never be accepted. I have a lot of my own insecurities about posting pictures like these, especially when I don’t bother to retouch or filter them. These are raw. Unfiltered. No makeup or tricks. Maybe they’re ugly, but they’re real. And at a time when we’re seeing a proliferation of AI created images, it’s important to still see real pictures and real humans, even if they aren’t perfect. I truly appreciate the community we have here that allows me to share all the things I do and feel secure enough to post everything. Thanks for being here 🥰

was watching back some of the GTWS day in the life videos and i noticed that, at least as of this video, he had the same kangaroo pump that i have :D (an older model of it since its from 8 years ago, but the same nonetheless)
it made me so absurdly happy to see someone i look up to have literally the same exact disability aid/equipment that i have when it's something i don't see a lot
