So. About Nick.

Ralph plays a slightly ridiculous, comical guy, whose task is to provide young guys with good special training for future police officers, but he himself, unfortunately, is an unsuitable operative.

This is strongly hinted at in the series by minor characters, Gus and Shawn’s boss, with whom Nick had something of a rivalry in his youth... But the real reason for Nick's removal remains a mystery! As if there is some kind of dark spot on his reputation. And indeed it is!

When Nick and his team go to catch the criminal, we see this. Shawn and Gus run headlong after the criminal, and Nick remains in the driver's seat with a tense face and clearly cannot bring himself to budge.

And... seriously, at that moment I thought that Nick had Vietnam's flashback in his head about some of his unsuccessful missions in which a mistake was made and because of which someone died or the crime was not solved, and the mission failed!

And it was for this reason that he was removed from business as an operative. And because of these memories of his past mistake, Nick is simply afraid to show his inadequacy, to let people down, afraid to fail again... And this fear that he might make a mistake again is holding him back.

In fact, it turns out that his character is quite timid by nature, and it took effort for him to face his fear at the end of the episode.

But damn, what a cool plot it would be if everything was deeper and more dramatic! I desperately need a deeper, more tragic story for Nick!

@allvalley100 here’s another prompt for the Amnesty Week, this time with my take on RITUAL! Additionally, this is a preview for the piece I had hoped to complete for Silverusso Day, but I’m hoping the taste of it delights enough for now.

Terry sighed, adjusting his Jareth costume one last time.

Every year since its founding, Terry Silver would go to the Labyrinth Masquerade ball, find the guest who most resembled his darling Danny-boy, and promptly fuck their brains out.

He had made quite a few friends this way… an actor named Chris (now happily married to some karate bimbo in New York… Ruben, right?), a mad scientist named Lee almost more deranged than Terry himself (oh Terry had nearly loved him), most recently a police officer named Nick…

This year would be different, though. He could feel it in his bones.

Oh man, now my mind is on Nick Conforth (Ralph’s character on Psyche) x Derek Bagg (Billy’s character on Psych)

Conforth has issues with his self-esteem, feels like he’s weak and pathetic for freezing up when things get real, and it doesn’t help that he had those two idiots, Shawn and Gus, trick him and get him in a shit ton of trouble, then "fix" it by getting him back the job that has done nothing but prove to him that he’s a loser. But then here comes Bagg in all his obnoxious glory, excited to start at the academy. Apparently he caught Derek’s attention as much as the blonde caught his, because from day one he seemed determined to annoy Nick into fucking him stupider than he already looked to be, but he also really lifts Nick’s confidence; doing things like groping his arms and saying they’re "getting strong,"; telling him he looks good in a uniform; coming to Nick for help, adorably red-faced and embarrassed, when he’s having trouble understanding the work he gave him, and looking at Nick like he’s the smartest man in the world when he’s explaining it to him. He said he thought it was "so cool" that Nick had been to a crime scene when he told him why he got suspended (instead of focusing on the part where Nick froze in fear and got left there), and he was all doe-eyed and amazed, his pretty pink lips parted invitingly, when Nick explained how he arrested two criminals and got reinstated—he called him brave, and it was then that Nick kissed him, his confidence soaring.

#This is all very loosely based on what we know of the characters #and I wrote it today #but this is what they need #Nick is /smitten/ and he doesn’t even know it yet #Bagg somehow gets even more enthusiastic with his praising when he’s handcuffed and bent over Nick’s desk #of course this would have to be a world where cops aren’t awful #nsft #Derek baggs #nick conforth #Bagg x Conforth #I want Conforth to have that blonde bimbo make him feel better #manly n stuff #I don’t know a lot about cop school #safety first #lawrusso adjacent

Nick Conforth considers himself to be a fairly level-headed person. He's logical. By-the-book.

His temper does get the best of him sometimes.

Rarely.

When the situation calls for it.

Like now, with Carlton Lassiter's tongue shoved down his throat, the fabric of Nick's cadet shirt catching against the gritty brick wall behind him.
