Because it became a whole ass fight on the discord, I think we need to make this abundantly clear. We are not taking any sides on who is and isn’t a real system, and therefore allowed to use the site. We’ve said it before and we will say it again. We aren’t a fucking doctor or scientist; we cannot possibly make an informed decision on whether someone’s experience is genuine or not. The site is built purely for compartmentalised journaling and healing. Does that apply to you? Then use Lighthouse— we aren’t going to stop you.
“What about fakers-“ Yeah, remember the many, many times we said “There is no sharing or social aspect to Lighthouse”? That's practically a natural deterrent to that kind of person. Just, simply, and bluntly put. You know that. We know that. That isn't even an argument in any of this.
We do not take sides in this matter for a few couple reasons on Lighthouse that we believe is very important for people to understand.
There are people on the site with a generated safety plan, but no alters or systems recorded. So, not everyone is plural on Lighthouse.
We will not divulge the exact number, but of all the users on the site, approximately 1% of them have disabled trauma worksheets from their account. So, while an overwhelming majority of people on the site want help with trauma, not everyone does. We don't want to hear it about "Who cares if it's just 1%" because that is the exact argument used against people with DID to discredit their conditions.
Clearly and very obviously, there is no clear cut, non-nuanced way for us to just lump all of our users into one box. We will not demean anyone who does have, doesn't have, or can't remember trauma. And frankly, we are pretty angry that people genuinely believed that we would.
To those in the server who understood this and respect it, thank you. We appreciate you and are thankful to have you in our community. To those who don't and want to straw man us, we're beyond disappointed. We're mad.
This is the final time we-- collectively-- speak on this matter. Do not ask us about this again.
Cheers.
-Nick
-------
P.S: No matter what. We would rather accommodate anyone who asks, than to deny someone who has outwardly stated that they want the resources we are providing. And it's gross to think that we would. -Stu

Idk I suddenly like the name Max. I think the reason I didn’t choose it is because it gives me gender neutral vibes, and I wanted a distinctly masculine name. But I don’t know, I’m kinda vibing with Max now.
Of course, we could just have an alter called Max.

I never truly understood The Flesh until I really listened to episode 171: The Garden
I'd always just thought The Flesh was the fear of... disfigurement and such. But really it's just the fear of existing in a body you don't want, and the horrors you go through to attain any sort of "perfection"
I only ever aligned myself with the flesh because I found it fascinating, but I don't suffer from any sort of body-image issues. I'm pretty neutral about it, really.
But now I realize that more people are aligned with the flesh than I think

Nick: I never tell people right off the bat that I’m gay. I wait. I wait until they say some homophobic shit and then I laugh and I’m like “you know I’m gay, right?” and watch the look of terror on their face.

Shout out to every single person who helped me learn how to write after the education system and myself gave up on the prospect. More then the handfull of teachers who told me I could and the peer reviewers, I mean the people who beta read every fic I've written and gave me advice back. Y'all are an integral part of the learning process and I am humbled by your kindness and the help you have given me over the years.

Tears of The Kingdom: Fire temple Tips for Players With Poor Short Term Memory
(gameplay spoilers (but not plot spoilers) below cut)
Hey everyone! Tears of the Kingdom is out and it's a BLAST to play, but as I'm sure some of us have found it can be a bit of a struggle. The difficulty in the game has certainly gone up from playing Breath of The Wild. Particularly in terms of some of the puzzles.
But I'm here to talk about one segment in particular that has caused me (and I'm sure others) some grief and more then a few rage/depression quits: The Fire Temple. In regards to the fire temple, the place is literally a three dimensional maze, requiring backtracking, solving puzzles, undoing puzzles, and an attentive short term memory.
If you are like me and your short term memory has more holes then a mild cheese, then this last part has/will cause you some problems.
Here are some things you can do to help:
Take notes as you go
It might seem like a lot of work, but jotting down a quick note about either where you left off or how you got through a puzzle can really help you here.
Hit every switch multiple times and see what happens
You are gonna come across many switches in the Fire Temple, and if you ever get stuck a good thing to try is smacking those switches and seeing where they take you. Sometimes this means you will go around in circles, but it can also show you a new place or area. More then seeing where the switch takes you, you should pay attention to what the switch itself is doing.
Take a break from the temple
As anyone with poor short term memory knows, sometimes the best thing you can do is walk away for a bit. If your short term memory is acting up, explore a different section of Hyrule for a while and come back. It may give your short term memory enough time to become something closer to mid term memory. And there's nothing worse then getting to the point where you're too upset or angry to keep playing. Taking a break from the temple can help you avoid getting to that point.
Try using Ascend
One of the new abilities granted to Link in the game is the Ascend Ability, allowing Link to pass through the ceiling and into chambers above. If there isn't an obvious route to take on the ground, try going up.
Use a guide, use it often, and without shame
Guides are wonderful tools for those of us who can't remember things in the short term. And while there is no doubt many of us who want to make it through on our own, guides definitely have a place in the world of gaming.
There is no one way to use a guide. Use it when you get stuck, or use it to go through the entire temple. Or use it in a combination of these methods. There's nothing wrong with getting a little outside help, no matter how much you need.
Happy Gaming!

About Updates
On Friday, we had a sudden and unexpected medical emergency that has impacted our physical health a considerable amount. What actually happened was alarming, so we're not going to discuss it here. We're relatively ok now, but our energy levels are still low and there's still a risk of the emergency happening again over the next few days. This has understandably disturbed and distressed our system. When we have updates about our health and recovery, we will be sure to tell you guys as soon as possible!
Updates for Lighthouse may be delayed as a result. We want to be sure that the code we write is up to par and keeps the website online while we heal from what happened. I don't want to put an exact timeline on it in the event something happens again, but the tentative recovery date is the end of this week. Thank you for your understanding. -Nick

im gonna be a needless contrarian for a second and say that porter kind of has a point. as an analogy to real world school systems Fuck That and he needs to shut up but. this is also a school for adventurers where being very skilled is literally life or death. mechanically speaking, barbarian/artificer is a really bad multiclass choice (VERY fun as a character decision, absolutely horrible for mechanical optimization) and gorgug explicitly has no plan for how to make that work, strategically. splitting his attention on something that will make both skillsets weaker if approached wrong could really actually get gorgug killed, and i don't think that as his teacher and an adult responsible for making sure his students survive high school adventures that porter is wrong to call that choice into question. its analagous to a gym coach talking a kid out of drama club on a thematic level, but the actual literal thing Happening in the narrative is so much higher stakes

I hate that I’ll never be allowed to transition. Being one of only a few trans guys in a mainly cis female system sucks so bad! I really wish I could just do whatever I want. I don’t even get to have short hair. I’ve cut it twice, and the girls always let it grow back out as soon as I’m not fronting anymore. Am I gonna cut it again this time? I don’t know. What’s the point anyways? Nothing I can do to be comfortable in this body will feel like enough anyways. I hate this body! I hate not getting to make my own decisions on what I want to do with my body. I just want to make them disappear so I can be trans in peace :(
