"Near death miss with dads": mine was trimming a tree he was leaning against. On a steep driveway. Near the powerlines. He still denies this, but I SAW IT.

If you were honest, you never enjoyed or loved being immortal. Of course, your immortal life had a lot of benefits. You couldn’t get ill, you were forever young and beautiful (that was what your husband said all the time to you), you spend the eternity with the love of your life. Sometimes it was very great, but sometimes you hated it. Your loved ones died a long time ago and you saw all the people in the world getting old, and you wanted that with your husband. Growing old, playing with your grandchildren, remembering a wonderful life.
But you had a family and currently you were the second youngest of your group. A few months ago Nile joined your little family and she was a former marine. Nile was a soldier, like the others in your group. You weren’t a soldier; you never learnt how to fight before you died for the first time. You were born in 1985 and during your time in school it emerged that you were a genius, primarily in mathematics and biology, but you focused your interest mainly in computers and other kind of this stuff later in high school. You made money with programming security and anti-virus software for companies to protect their data.
The first time you had died wasn’t something really special or spectacular, but you had died on smoke poisoning after a fire was breaking loose. You had woken up in the mortuary in the hospital and you couldn’t believe what happened. You had been disoriented and confused, so you just wrapped the white sheet tight around your body and searched for a way out of the hospital, because you wanted to go home. But you hadn’t come far… that was when you met Joe and Nicky for the time. Joe had explained you quickly that you had died, because of a fire in your house and they were there to help you. Nicky had wrapped you in his leather jacket and carried you in his arms, because your feet were bare.
That was six years ago in 2015 and you were now married with Booker for four years, these were the happiest in your life. Booker and you had become very close immediately and you couldn’t ask for a better man or husband. Booker was good with all the technical stuff, but you showed him skills that he only had dreamed off and fast you were responsible for finding persons or hacking any websites, searching for information and made sure that all the tech stuff ran smoothly. You felt sometimes like the fictional figure Ramsay from Fast and the Furious.
The time in your little cell gave you enough time to think about your life. You were here for three or four days now and your kidnappers thought you had find out information about their criminal business, and you had gave the info to the FBI, which was true, but the criminals couldn’t prove that. So they had water-boarded you already and now they were trying to starve you, so you would tell them what you did and what exactly you told the FBI.
You had a little worry that your family couldn’t find a way to rescue you or that it was very difficult to break in the building where they hold you hostage. You wore a little location transmitter under your skin, not only one, but four in different places. This was your first idea after you joined the team, because it would be easier for the team to track someone if one or more of you got kidnapped. You hoped the others already found you.
You were sitting on the floor with chains cuffed to your ankles and wrists when one of your kidnappers opened the door. It was Paul, the at least friendly one of the men, but he wasn’t very talkative. He checked the chains and brought a new bottle of water, but clearly no food. You didn’t eat something in the last seventy-six hours and you were very hungry, but you wouldn’t beg for food. You weren’t weak or easy to break, but your kidnappers didn’t know that and maybe your family members would rescue you in the next coming hours. You would definitely eat a cheeseburger and a large portion of fries.
“Do you want to tell me something, sweet girl?” Paul asked you with a gentle voice and little smile, but you only quirked an eyebrow and looked dumbfounded at him. Did he really think you would talk so fast? Andy had one rule; don’t say anything about their missions no matter what they would do to you. It was easy to follow the rule. Of course, you were afraid that they would water board you again. That wasn’t very pleasant, but they could do other things and you didn’t want to think about it.
“It’s very sad that you don’t want to talk with me and it’s impolite, too. You should show us more respect and answer a question when someone asked you.”
With two fingers he tipped your chin up, but you refused to look him in the eyes.
“No, I have nothing to tell you.”
“Well, that is bad… for you. My boss said that I have to make you talk and that I could do anything with you what I want. You have a pretty face, you know, I would really like to kiss your lips. But your body is more interesting, I ask myself what you hide under all your clothes. What do you think… can I take a look?"
That was the first time you gave him a glance and you were disgusted by the smug grin on his face.
“Fuck you,” you cursed and spit him in the face. Your spit landed on his cheek and mouth and brushed with his hand the wetness from his skin.
“Don’t you ever do this again!” he warned you with an angry voice and slapped you across the face, so that your head flew to the side. Your cheek burned where he hit you with the back of his hand, but you only turned your head slowly to him and grinned slightly. “That was your answer.”
His eyes were filled with rage now, because he had thought you were just a pretty little girl who he could threaten and you would sing like a bird. In the next moment he pressed his mouth hard on yours and his tongue tried to invade your mouth, but you bit him as hard as you can on the lip that you could taste blood in your mouth.
“You bit me, you little bitch. You will wish you were never born when I’m done with you.”
“I think it will be the opposite,” you considered and he shoot you a death glare. He came closer to you for a second time and you watched the blood dripping from his torn lip.
“You really want to be hurt, right?”
“No, but it seems you want to,” you replied and kicked your knee into his stomach. He gasped and fell backwards on his butt.  You didn’t get much time to put your plan into action. The chains around your ankles were tied to the ground, but the ones around your wrists were connected with a chain. You stood up fast to your feet, ignored the dizzy feeling in your head from sitting so long and wrapped the chain around his neck. You pulled tight to cut his air supply and he tried helplessly to inhale the much needed air. You used all of your strength to strangle him, because he started trying to put his fingers between the chain and his throat. You noticed how strong he was and he scratched the floor with his feet helplessly. You couldn’t give up now, you know there would other men come, but maybe he had any keys that you could use to free yourself from the shackles.
You felt how slowly his strength faded, but it did and you collected all of your strengths to pull the chain tighter. You thought it took you minutes until he gave fighting, but it was only a few more seconds until he went limp and you counted to sixty in your head to be sure he didn’t fake it.
You searched in his pockets for any keys and you were successful. You thought why they were so stupid to give Paul the keys, but you thought that they weren’t smart enough to assume that you could have overpowered him. But you could only free yourself from the chains around your ankles, your hands were still in chains and you cursed that you couldn’t defend yourself properly. They weren’t very tight, you could have freed yourself earlier from them, but you would have to dislocate your thumb and break your hand in the process, and you weren’t brave enough to do it. Maybe you would find the keys somewhere else, you weren’t happy how the situation turned out, but at least you weren’t raped by Paul and you took Paul’s gun to your defense, then you walked on wobbly legs out of the little room. You didn’t know if there were any cameras, but you assumed they had a few, because you heart already shouting and appearing footsteps from down the long hallway where you stood now helplessly. You didn’t know where you were or how they got you here. Normally you weren’t active in any mission, you were the tech nerd and you stayed often with Nicky when he searched for the perfect position for his sniper rifle. But the last time you were with Nicky, he needed to change his position and you decided to stay in the first place he had chosen. You always had a gun with you and Andy had trained you, but you weren’t used to fight against so many men that had approached you after Nicky was gone. You were sure Nicky was crestfallen, because he left you there alone and Booker freaked out probably in the moment.
You thought about which way you should take and it would have been probably stupid if you would go into the direction from where the shouting was coming.
“She’s this way, boss,” you heard a familiar voice from behind you and your heart began to beat faster. That was your husband and the shouting was from the other criminal men, when the team had surprised them. You were glad that they finally came for your rescue and started running towards them.
“I hope they didn’t hurt her or I will them kill all over again,” Booker said maybe to Andy, because you didn’t know if all of them were in the building.
“She’s moving fast into our direction,” you heard him gasping shocked. In the next moment you ran around the corner and directly into his arms when he recognized you. Booker his arms around your body and you buried your face in the crook of his neck; you inhaled his familiar scent that helped you to calm your nerves slowly.
“Nobody’s seen you in days,” he joked chuckling in your ear and you laughed along with him. Of course, he had to make a stupid joke in the middle of a rescue mission. “I’m so happy that you are with me again.”
“Are you alright, Y/N?” Andy asked while she observed your surroundings. You looked up and she gave you short glance.
“I’m okay, but my hands are still chained.”
“How did you escape?” Booker asked and you quirked an eyebrow at him.
“The bad man wanted to touch me, so I killed him.”
“How?” – “I suffocated him with my chains.” I held my hands up in demonstration and Booker nodded in admiration.
“How is my wife more badass than me?” he said stunned.
“I trained her. Now let’s go!” Andy replied impatiently and let the direction to get out of the building.
The three of you ran down the hallway from Booker and Andy had come and you saw all the dead men on your way to the exit. You counted the corpse, twenty-four. You were still impressed, because you hadn’t often the opportunity to see the others in action. You saw a lot of flesh wounds that Andy had caused with her axe and the others had bullet holes from Booker’s guns. You hoped you would leave this building without meeting more of the men, but you didn’t come far when you heard again footsteps coming into your direction.
Andy gave a sign to slow down your tempo and you tightened your grip on the gun. You didn’t know how to describe your feelings in the moment, because you hated to be forced with the enemy. You felt tired, because you hadn’t eaten in days and you used the last bit of your strength to kill Paul. You were mostly pissed that they had you taken and they were still stupid enough to stand your in way to freedom. You were glad that you weren’t alone, because when you arrived in a great hall where they stored their stolen guns and drugs and all the other ware which they made profit with.
“I see you managed to escape. You killed one of my best man, you slut.” You knew the voice very well, it was Paul’s boss and he wasn’t happy about what you did to Paul. You saw his angry red face and the gun he pointed at you.
“I’m bulletproof… but please, don’t shoot me. I really hate the feeling of bullets in my body,” you answered him and he looked dumbfounded at you for a second.
“What are you talking about? Are you already gone mad? Well, I don’t care. You killed my man, so I’m going to kill your man, then the crazy axe lady and in the end I will torture until you beg me to stop and you will tell me your little secrets, and maybe then after every one of my men had their fun with you, I let you die.”
“You’re pathetic. You will pay for what you did to my wife!” Booker screamed and tried to push you behind, but you didn’t let him, you were too angry.
“You’re disgusting, Antonio. I make you a better offer: I will shoot your balls off and let you bleeding out like a pig, while you can watch how we kill the rest of your men and then we will blow up this whole building.”
You grinned like a mad woman when you aimed to shoot him between your legs and you didn’t hesitate a second until you heard the echo of your shooting. Antonio screamed in pain and felt down to the ground. You could shoot him again, but his men already began to fire in your direction and Booker pushed your forward, so you could get out of there finally. It took a lot of bullets and fighting until you were even near to the exit and then Joe came through the large door of the hall and shot two of them precisely in the head which left only two of them in the end.
A dark haired man fired a bullet into Booker’s leg and he winced in pain, but kept running. But you got so angry that they had the nerve to shoot your husband, when it was clearly that they were going to lose. You stopped and turned around to shoot them, but you were out of bullets.
“Fuck,” you cursed. That was definitely your favorite swear word. You used the handle of the gun to hit the dark haired man on the cheek and you heard the satisfying cracking of the bone. He tried to punch you, but you crouched down and tackled his body with yours, so you fell on the ground. The man had no time to react when you grabbed his head with both of your hands and smashed his head on the hard floor four times.
Andy killed the other one with her axe while Booker pushed off the dead of the dead man and out of the building, and that was when you inhaled fresh air for the first time in nearly eighty hours.
“Are they all dead now?” Joe asked still aiming the door, but you couldn’t answer him, because you were pulled in tight hug from Nicky.
“Thank god, Y/N. Are you okay? Did they hurt you?”
“I’m perfectly fine, Nicky. Are you okay?”
Nicky watched me confused. “You’re asking me if I’m okay after you had been hold hostage for more than three days.”
“Ah yes, you seem very distressed.”
“You’re insane,” he mumbled when he kissed the top of my head.
“But you love me,” you replied laughing.
“Not right now, I don’t. You made me leave you alone there; I will never let you alone again.”
“Isn’t that my husband’s part?” You said still laughing when Booker hugged you from behind with his arms around your waist.
“He can share,” Nicky prompted snorting and both men cuddled you between them.
“Can we go home then?” Andy asked still impatient.
“Yes, boss,” all of you saluted and Andy rolled her eyes on you.
The ride home was silent. Joe and Andy switched on driving and you sat with Booker and Nicky in the backseat. Nicky was peacefully snoring beside you and you were cuddled up in Booker’s lap. When you got in the car earlier he had kissed all over of your face and then your mouth, he let you feel all his love for you.
“When Nicky had told us that they kidnapped you… I thought I would never see you again, but then I remembered how brilliant you were to get us the location transmitter last year and it was easy to find you, but to get in the building was so much harder. Please tell me, he didn’t get a chance to touch you? I can’t bear the thought that he might took you with force… I…”
“Shh, my heart. He didn’t touch me. I killed him before he got a chance. At least I was lucky enough to overpower him… don’t think about all the other possibilities how it could have ended. We are together again and that’s all what matters.”
“You’re right, sweetheart. I love you so much. Please, never leave me again.”
“How could I ever leave you, Sebastien. You are the love of my life and our life had only just begun. Wonderful five years, yes, but I hope it will be at least five hundred more.”
Booker chuckled at your words. “I will five thousand years at least, and more.”
Your lips found each other again and you know that as long as Booker was at your side, you would be never alone.
“I hope you can free me from this chains as soon as possible,” you told Joe and he only grinned at you.
“Don’t worry, we will make it when we’re at home. But are you sure you want to be free so soon? I can tell you that they’re perfectly for role games in the bedroom. Nicky and I had a lot with chains in the past.”
You looked back at Booker questionly. “Sounds like an interesting idea. You know when you hit and tackled the man down on the ground. That was kind of hot. It turned me really on.” The last words Booker whispered in your ear and you knew you wouldn’t leave the bed in the next days.

The Two of Us ~ Fluffy Friday
Tumblr media
(Lord Jackson Walker x Lady Nicky Beaumont) from the While We're Young series with @krsnlove
Fluffy Friday Masterlist
"Wow, it must be love." Emily Beaumont watched her older sister pack the oversized backpack. "I can't believe you are really going to do this."
Nicky shrugged. "Jax loves it and really wants me to try it. Since I care about him, it won't hurt me to give it a shot."
Emily snorted. "Beaumonts don't do camping."
Nicky rolled her eyes. "Now you sound like Mom."
"Hey! Mums is the best! You can't say that we don't typically share the same opinion."
Nicky shoved in a few more clothes. "I know she is and I know we do." She looked up at her sister and grinned. "Guard your heart, Em. One day you will fall head over heels for someone and will be doing things you swore you would never do."
Emily's eyes twinkled with mischief. "I think I will know he is not my true love if he asks me to rough it for the weekend." The sisters both burst into laughter.
Maxwell knocked on the open bedroom door. His grin dimpled even more at seeing his girls laughing. "Jackson's here, Nicky."
She slung her backpack over her shoulders and staggered backwards from the weight. Emily reached out and steadied her. "Whoa. Probably shouldn't have packed so much."
She walked downstairs and her heart fluttered at seeing Jackson. He looked so ruggedly handsome in his jeans and his flannel shirt. His eyes lifted up at her and he smiled. When she got to the bottom of the stairs he took her backpack from her.
"Ready?" He asked. She nodded and hugged her parents and sister goodbye. Jackson promised to keep her safe and that they would see them on Sunday.
Once they were in his jeep, she relaxed and decided to give this a fair chance. This was the first time they would be able to be completely alone on a vacation. She would have preferred a hotel room and exciting nightlife, yet she wanted to see what Jackson loved so much about camping.
Jax reached for her hand while he drove. He glanced over at her and grinned. He couldn't believe she agreed to this. Since they had made their relationship official at Christmas, he had wanted to get away from their friends and family and it be a time for just the two of them. His father had once said that to really know someone, you should travel with them and see how they handle things.
They had traveled together with their families and the court since they were infants. This would be a whole new experience. He pressed a kiss to her hand. "Excited?"
"I think so." She pulled her hair back into a ponytail. "I think what I am most excited about is a chance to be alone with you without interruption."
She bit her lip when his heated gaze moved over her. "Funny. That was what I was thinking."
After a few hours of driving, they arrived at the spot to begin the hike. He pulled their bags out and helped her with her backpack. While straightening the straps he pulled her into a deep kiss. She smiled against his lips. When they broke apart he kept his forehead against hers, simply enjoying holding her close.
"Are we actually going to hike or are we going to stay here?" She slid her arms up his chest to end up looped around his neck. "I won't complain if we stay here and continue this." She stood on her tiptoes to kiss him again. After a few moments, they broke apart.
"Tempting, but I have a spot that I've picked just for you." He laced his fingers with hers and led her down the trail. His dry humor had her laughing and distracted from the long hike. He thought this might be the most fun he had ever had walking in nature.
Nicky gasped when he led her to an opening looking out over the ocean. "Oh Jax! This is beautiful!" He grinned and pulled out the tent.
"I thought my girl might like it." He assembled the tent with ease, grinning at her compliments. "Ready to make it comfortable?"
She nodded and unrolled her sleeping bag. Her cheeks colored at the thought of sleeping next to him. They had never done so before. What if he snored? What if she snored? Or worse...what if one of them talked in their sleep and said something embarrassing. She would never be able to look him in the eye again. He slid in next to her and saw the panic in her eyes.
"Uh, Nicky...you okay?"
"Yep. Great." He cocked his eyebrow at her and waited. She stared down at their sleeping bags. "I don't suppose there are two tents we can use."
"No. Just the one. Why?"
"No reason." She said quickly while scrambling out of the tent that seemed to shrink when he entered. He frowned as he watched her take off to sit by the cliff.
He started a fire and joined her to watch the sun set. He wrapped his arms around her and placed her in his lap. He nuzzled her neck and felt contentment wash over him as he smelled her jasmine lotion. He felt her relax in his embrace and held her closer.
"Do you want to go for a walk along the beach?" She asked.
"We can tomorrow. I think we ought to eat and turn in early." She stiffened in his arms. He let out a groan. "Would you please tell me what's wrong?"
She plucked some grass and fiddled with it. "Sleeping with you."
Her words hit like a punch to the gut. "What?"
"It is going to be awkward if we talk or make noise." She replied, not meeting his eyes. "I really hope it doesn't happen."
Did she not find him attractive at all? He had not planned on their first time together happening this weekend. Their relationship was still so new. But he desired her with an intensity that grew stronger every day. To hear that she didn't feel the same cut deep. Should they break up? If she wasn't physically attracted to him, why bother dating?
She glanced at his face and saw the shock and raw pain. Oh no, she thought. He must be a snorer and I have hurt his feelings. "Jax, it's okay. I won't tease you or complain if you snore or talk."
Snore? Why would he snore during..."Nicky? What are you talking about?"
"I'm worried I will snore or talk in my sleep. I've been told that I sometimes talk but thankfully do not snore. But with all this fresh air, anything is possible." She glared at him when he started laughing. "I'm being serious!" She shoved out of his lap and stood before him with hands on her hips. "Jackson Walker! I am sharing a legitimate concern here."
He hopped up and kissed her. "I don't care if you sing in your sleep and snore in between songs. I only want you beside me."
Her anger faded away by his words and the tender way he looked at her. His hands cupped her face. His thumbs smoothed her soft skin. "I bet you are beautiful when you are asleep." He said softly.
"Jax..." She could feel herself melting against him. He took her hands and tugged her over to the fire. "Come on. Let's eat."
By the time they got to the smores, the stars were out. He grabbed a blanket and wrapped the two of them up as they sat in companionable silence. He could get used to this. Holding her might be his new favorite activity. When she yawned, he pulled her into the tent and unzipped the sleeping bags.
A flirty smile appeared on his lips. "You know," he looked up at her, "these sleeping bags can be attatched to make one big one."
She met his eyes and blushed. "Really? You learn something new everyday."
"Shall we?" He held the ends up.
She chewed on her lower lip. "Why not? We do need to be close for warmth."
"I couldn't agree more." His voice was gravelly while his eyes traveled down what would be his heat source this weekend.
Jackson realized his father was right. During their weekend away, he saw Nicky in a whole new light. He saw her gentle humor and patience make a leaky tent during a sudden downpour fun. She was up for trying any of the new experiences he suggested, usually resulting in private jokes they would share for years to come. Nicky's sunny outlook changed the way he saw things that he had seen thousands of time before. He thought he was already pretty crazy about her to begin with. This weekend made him fall even more for her.
She also saw him differently. He had always been attentive to her, yet his entire focus was on making this weekend unforgettable. She saw his silly romantic side when he knocked on the tent. He presented her with silk roses and asked if he could take her on a date. The date consisted of roasted hotdogs and a walk on the beach. He kept her warm during their walk with kisses and his arms wrapped around her. She loved every moment of it. As they snuggled in the tent at night, he would whisper how much she meant to him and how crazy he was about her. Her own heart was overflowing with her feelings for him. She knew it wouldn't be long before they confessed they were in love.
Sunday came much too soon. He stood with her outside in her driveway, reluctant to return to their normal lives. He slid a hand into her hair while pulling her hips close. He kissed her tenderly goodbye. "Thank you for this weekend." He mummered against her lips.
"I'm glad we did this." She whispered.
He grinned. "How about we plan on taking another trip? Maybe a week long one." He chuckled when her eyes widened at the thought of camping for that amount of time. "A trip to one of your favorite cities and hotels."
She smiled, excited about going away again. "As long as it's with you, then it sounds like the perfect plan to me."

You sat on the dining table with your face in your hands in the little cottage near Rome that was owned by Joe and Nicky. You all came here after you had a mission that went well, but you were all really exhausted afterwards. Originally you wanted to stay here for a week and then leave to visit an old friend of you in London, it was still possible for you to have contact to your friends, you weren’t so old, but you were sure it could be only for one or two more years before they would notice that you weren’t aging. But now you were here for thirteen days already, because your friend was on sudden business trip and you had no other place to go.
But that wasn’t the reason you sat on the dining table with fingers in your hair and pulling on the roots a little rougher while you groaned loudly.
“What’s the matter, principessa?” You heard Nicky’s voice and flinched when he sat down next to you on the table. You weren’t aware that he entered the room and you lifted your head lazily.
“You seem very frustrated about something. Do you want to talk about it?” Nicky considered and you frowned. Nicky had a good knowledge of human nature and you weren’t in the mood to talk about your problems, so you just shrugged and your head sink down on the surface of the table.
“Maybe I can help?” Nicky suggested and you shook your head.
“No one could help me,” you muttered.
Nicky laughed about your answer. “For every problem there is a solution. But when you need help, you should tell someone if you want to solve the problem.”
You groaned again. “And how do you want to help me?” you snapped and felt instantly bad to get shirty with him. “I’m sorry,” you mumbled.
“It’s okay. I could search Andy, maybe it’s easier for you to talk to her,” Nicky continued to make suggestions and you burst out laughing in disbelief.
“Andy would tell me to stick myself together. I don’t think it’s a good idea. Then I would rather talk to you.”
“Why don’t you do it then?” Nicky smiled encouraging and you sighed.
“I can’t… it’s embarrassing,” you whispered and you didn’t dare to look in his eyes. He would probably laugh about it.
“Well, I’m sure I heard worse,” Nicky replied seriously with a sly smile. “Come on, Y/N, or I have to guess. I have a clue. You don’t need to be afraid; I’m not going to tell anyone, not even Joe.”
“What you aren’t going to tell me? You have secrets from me, my love?” Joe said playfully pouting from behind you and you groaned a third time burying your face in your hands.
“Is she okay?” Joe asked Nicky worriedly and you heard him moving a chair. He sat down and took Nicky’s hand in his.
“I’m not sure, amore mio, she doesn’t want to tell,” Nicky explained with a still serious voice.
“I’m still here, no need to talk in third person about me,” you grumbled and leaned back with crossed arms over your chest.
Joe laughed and tried to hide it as he clasped a hand over his mouth. “Why are you so mad? Is it your time of the month? Or what is wrong?”
You scrunched your face up in annoyance and turned your head away. “Stop your churlishness,” Nicky scolded him and bopped him playfully. “That’s a delicate topic.”
“Y/N, just tell us and we search for a solution or I just say what I think your problem is.” Nicky was giving you a last chance and you shook your head.
“I can’t be that worse. We can help out in every aspect. We are family, Y/N, we are there for each other,” Joe assured you, but you ignored him and made a huffing noise. You weren't mad with them, you were mad about yourself.
Joe looked helplessly to Nicky and you interpreted Nicky’s gaze, you were in a trap. He wouldn’t let go and you will feel embarrassed for the rest of your immortal life.
“Don’t worry, Joe, you didn’t say anything wrong. I think she’s simply sexual frustrated. I assume your friend in London is the reason for this dilemma and I know he’s too busy to spend time with you,” Nicky deadpanned and your eyes widened in shock. He was good, a good observer and you were trapped. Well, you could always leave, but he wouldn’t stop worrying about you. Nicky didn’t want to be mean or to offend you, but it was still awkward.
“That’s all?” Joe asked confused. “Well, you could visit him when he has free time again or just pick someone in a bar near here. The language shouldn’t be the problem.”
“I don’t like one-night stands,” you answered Joe back and didn’t want to meet his gaze. “Now the cat is out of the bag, but do we really need to talk about it?”
“We don’t have to, but you’re stressed and that isn’t healthy. You need something to release your stress. Did you try something else than sex? Boxing with a sandbag? Running?” Nicky proposed gently and you sighed again.
“I went yesterday and today for a one and a half hour run, but I don’t feel better.” You shrugged again and twirled a strain of your hair between your thumb and forefinger.
Nicky and Joe exchanged looks and you knitted your brow. “What do you have in mind?”
It wasn’t the way you thought the day would go. You talked two hours ago with your friend from London and he would be back on Saturday and you planned to take a flight on the same day. But until then you needed to survive four more days and you didn’t have an idea how to do this.
“Well, principessa, if sports don’t help and you don’t want to be with a stranger, your friend isn’t available anyway; you should maybe spend time with someone you know already.”
You were taken aback for a second and then you shook your head in disbelief. “And who? My only friend with whom this kind of arrangement is possible lives in London. My other friends are female or married.”
Nicky smiled conspiratorial and you quirked an eyebrow. You held your breath and braised yourself for what Nicky was going to say. You hoped he wouldn’t suggest that you should spend some time with Joe and him, because it would be very weird. You wouldn’t agree with this.
“Don’t panic, Y/N. I know you have a little crush, we saw your lingering and admiring gaze,” Joe explained with a mocking tone. But you panicked and whimpered a little. That couldn’t be true. Did they really think you have a crush on them? You couldn’t tell. Yes, you knew them for a while now, but you couldn’t figure out. You gulped nervously and looked at them, expecting the worst.
“I can assure you that your feelings are returned from your crush,” Nicky said with a smile.
“I hope we’re talking about the same person. Yes, I can’t deny that I have a crush on someone, but…” Your voice broke at the end and you bit your lip agitated. Nicky watched you and he noticed that you didn’t feel well with the conversation. He admitted that their words were mysterious and that it made you only confused.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I thought it was obvious… I mean Booker,” Nicky explained hastily and your head fell forwards in relief, placing your hand above your heart.
“Oh god, I thought for the past minutes you meant yourselves,” you responded and laughed assuaged.
“With all my respect for you, I see you as a sister. I love you dearly, Y/N, but my heart only belongs to Joe.”
You nodded in agreement. “That would’ve been so weird.”
“Yeah, we're family, but there we make a boundary,” Joe chuckled and the mood lightened up slightly.
You were so anxious the whole time that you didn't realize what Nicky had told you about the feelings of your crush. “Were you serious? When you told me about… about… Booker's feelings for me. Why are you sure that he does like me?”
Nicky inclined his head and smirked. “He told me.”
“What?… When?… I mean he really told you that…,” you stuttered and couldn't believe his words, yet you knew he wouldn't lie to you.
“Booker… he got very upset… two months ago. That was last time when you left to visit your friend in London. He spoke about how you always run into your lover's arms and someday he will break your heart, because he grow old and you will be always young.”
“He isn't my lover or my boyfriend, we are just friends that, well, you know,” you clarified and Nicky nodded.
“We told him that you aren't in a relationship with him and then Booker said that your friend doesn't derserve you. It was impossible to imagine for Booker how your friend couldn't love you. And he said that he can treat you better, that you deserved to be loved.”
You were shocked and overwhelmed with emotions, to hear those words about Booker's feelings for you. He didn't just like you, he was in love with you, at least you hoped for it. You never imagined that he would return your feelings and you never noticed any sings that he felt mutual.
“Booker really cares about you,” Joe mentioned with a honest gaze to you. “I watched him the last eight weeks. On every mission he was close to you, he protected and always checked first on you. Also at home, he took care of you, looked after of you and tried to spend more time with you. I'm sure you're his priority.”
You got tears in your eyes and they rolled down your cheeks, angrily you wiped them away. You felt stupid that you wasted so much time in London, you could have something so much better.
“I understand why he never said something. I assume he thought that I'm not intersted in him, because I travelled so often to London. I didn't even see that he wanted to spend more time with me. I just thought he wanted to be nice…”
Nicky and Joe simply nodded and Nicky gave you a tissue for the tears.
“What should I supposed to do now?” You mumbled crestfallen and took a deep breath.
“Of course you should tell him!” Nicky exclaimed
“If it's not too late. He could reject me,” you complated the possibility he couldn't want you.
“You will never know if you don't try it,” Joe said convincing. You kne he was right and you nodded nervously.
“Where is he?”
“In the living room working on his laptop,” Nicky answered smiling and nodded towards the hallway that leaded in the living room.
Now or never, you told yourself.
