Pairing: Leighton Murray x Reader

Request: I would like to request a leighton x reader story. I maybe want the vibe with you touch her i will end you vibe? Maybe at a party and some drunk party people? Ir not that is totally okay:)

Warnings: Alcohol consumption.

The Theta end of the year party was buzzing around you. Dancing, drinking, Santa suits, talking, music, it was the party of the year. You were focused on getting the next ping-pong ball into Kimberly and Lila's cups on the other side of the table. So far, you and Leighton were behind by two cups behind. You didn't mind though, you were having fun, and Bela, Whitney and Jocelyn, getting louder and louder while cheering you on made winning or losing less important. Your ball bounces right into a cup and Lila takes the drink. Leighton puts her hands on both of your cheeks and pulls you in for a kiss.

Inevitably you lose the game, but you couldn't care less as Leightong wraps her arms around you, while you watch as people play a game of beer pong. When your cup is empty, you offer to get drinks for everyone in the group. You head to the bar and order the drinks. While you wait, you feel someone nearing you, just someone that wanted to order a drink too you thought. That is until the person presses up against your back, and puts their arm around. You hadn't seen their face yet but you knew for sure that it wasn't Leighton.

You turn around and out of their hold. It's one of the Theta guys, you don't remember his name, but you remember seeing him with Nico once or twice. You can clearly see that he has had too much to drink, so you calmly tell him to leave you alone. He didn't seem to care for what you said as he reached his hand forwards and took a hold of your wrist. He started talking, not actually making much sense since his words were so slurred, but you did not feel safe. You tried to pull out of his grip, but he wasn't letting go.

Whitney looked in your direction to see if you needed a hand with the drinks, but when she saw the guy holding onto your arm, accompanied by your panicked face, she hurried to your aid without saying a word to the other girls. They look after her confused until they see what Whitney is looking at, they quickly follow behind.

Whitney was telling the guy off but he still wasn't listening. Then Leighton steps in, she stands in between you and the guy, she puts her hand around the arm that he's holding you with, and speaks her words in a loud and angry voice. "If you want to keep your arm, I suggest that you get your hands off." She says while squeezing his arm more. Leighton's raised voice got Nico's attention. He takes a quick look at what's happening and rushes over. He steps behind the guy and pulls him away, "What the hell, Ben?" He questions as he pushes him away from you. "Clay, take him outside and make sure that he leaves." He calls over to a nearby friend.

He turns around and sees Leighton hugging you tight. He steps to your side, "Y/n, I am so sorry. This was not okay. Why don't you and Leighton go to my room for a bit while I make sure he's gone?" You nod and Leighton guides you upstairs. She leads you to the foot of Nico’s bed and sits down with you. She lets you cry into her chest while she rubs her hand soothingly over your back. Once the tears subside and you wipe them off your face, Leighton asks if you’re okay. “Yeah, I am. I was just so scared because he wouldn’t listen or let go.” You could see on her face that she was doing everything in her power to hold back her anger. “Just say it, I know it will make you feel better.” You smile slightly, your girlfriend was very protective, which you loved, of course. She takes a deep breath, “Okay, yeah, I know you don’t want me too, but I would murder him if you asked me to. No questions asked.” You lean into her again, “I know you would, and you’re right, please don’t. I’d rather have you by my side than having to visit you in jail.” Leighton gets a sly smile on her face, “But you would visit me?” You roll your eyes, “Of course I would visit you. You’re stuck with me.” Leighton always knew how to distract you in order to calm you down.

With a soft knock on the door, Nico enters his bedroom. He hands you both a bottle of water, “How are you doing?” You tell him you’re okay and take a sip. “I am so sorry that this happened. Man, if I would’ve seen him outside still I would’ve killed him.” So, apparently that anger runs in the family. Leighton responds, “I already offered and it was declined.” You all laugh. “Thank you, though, Nico.” He puts his hand on your shoulder. “Of course, you’re family.” You stand up and hug him, as you try not to cry. “Oh, and just so you know, we are kicking Ben out of Theta, and we’re banning him from all Theta activities.” You nod and thank him again.

“Alright, it’s getting late. Let me walk you both back to your dorms.” Leighton tells him that he doesn’t have to, but Nico insists. When you walk downstairs you see that the girls are waiting for you at the bottom. You smile at them appreciatively and head to the dorms together. You felt safe surrounded by all these people that you trust, and were glad that you had a group of people that had your back.

Leighton walks next to you and interlaces your hands. “Please stay with me tonight. I don’t want you to be alone.” You squeeze her hand, “I don’t want to be alone tonight either, so yes please.”

You thanked everyone before going to Leighton’s room, the emotions of tonight had drained all your energy. Leighton handed you some of her clothes to wear to bed and joined you. You fell asleep with your head on her chest and her arms protectively around you.

The Sex Lives of College Girls season 2 recently ended and damn.....what the hell is going on????

Why was Whitney screwing the dickheads from Chemistry class? Why did she and Canaan break up??? What was the point of Jackson? Is Kimberly still in debt? So Tatum is just getting tossed to to side?

There was so much that happened but it also felt like nothing happened which is really disappointing

Also, Kimberly's shenanigans with Canaan are unacceptable to me. Like what the hell bro? How could you do this to your friendm and I like Alicia but I don't see how that's gonna last (also Tatum deserved better)

Weirdly enough, I actually don't have any problems with Bela's actions this season. They made sense to me (even if I didn't support them)

Anyway, the point is......New YouTube video just dropped! Lol we talk about everything we have questions about in season of HBO's hit show!!

“Hey, Y/N! Just so you know, we have a new volunteer coming in tomorrow. Her name is… Leighton Murray? She’s a freshman. She got drunk and threw a bottle at a statue, and then ran away from campus police. Seems like just your type.” Alicia, your co-head of volunteering, says to you as you walk towards your motorcycle.

“She seems fun. I’ll be in tomorrow to help get her settled, but I might be a tiny bit late. My shift at Sips cuts in a little.” You call over your shoulder. She shoots you a thumbs up and you mount your bike. This Leighton sounds familiar. Oh shit! This is your coworker Kimberly’s roommate! You drive off, looking forward to putting a name to a face.

{The next day}

You approach Lila and Kimberly just in time to hear Lila ask, “So is there something going on between you and the hot French tutor?” You add, “Yeah, the one who is your roommate's brother? I mean, I’m a lesbian, but even I think he’s hot.”

Kimberly splutters back. “No. Why? Did he ask about me or something when he ordered his coffee yesterday?” Lila smirks before replying, “Yeah. He-- He asked me if you were seeing anyone.”

You laugh when you see Kimberly completely falling for it. “Stop. Really?!” Lila cackles. “Nah, he didn't. He couldn't care less. But maybe he will, 'cause he's walking in right now.”

Kimberly shoots her a glare, unknowing that Nico is right behind her. “Oh, ha ha! That's so funny. Yeah, I'm sure he's walking in right now.” She turns around and sees him, quickly covering for herself. “Hey!”

Nico grins before asking, “How's it going?” Kimberly turns bright red. “Uh, I'm just working. Nothing much. Definitely not talking about anything specific.”

Lila stares at him for a second before saying, “You have a face to write songs about. Thank you.” You shove her shoulder before looking back at Nico and saying, “Sorry about her. She kind of says whatever comes into her mind.” You hold out your hand for a handshake. “I’m Y/N Y/L/N. Kimberly’s coworker. And you must be the french tutor.”

Nico laughs before grabbing your hand. “Yeah, that's me. I’m Nico Murray. I’ve seen you around campus. You have that dope ass motorcycle that always somehow has a girl on it.” Now it's your turn to laugh. “Yep. What can I say, ladies dig the vibe.” Nico pulls out his phone. “You seem cool. Could I get your number? Theta is always looking for more people to hang out with.”

You nod and pull out your phone. “Yeah man. As long as you're down for some intense game watching and very long nights partying.” He grins and nods. “Always.”

Kimberly grabs his attention after he finishes putting your number in his phone. “So, what brings you in? Did you want a drink? Or a café au lait?” Nico smiles before saying, “Hey, good pronunciation. But no, I just stopped in to see you. I was thinking, for our next tutoring session, we could watch "Golden Girls" in French, the way I learned with my au pair. Maybe tonight?”

Kimberly nods enthusiastically. “Yeah. Yes. Yeah. I think that sounds both educational and entertaining. You're such a good tutor.” Nico gives her a weird look before shaking it off. “Great. I'll see you tonight.” Kimberly sighs, “Okay.”

You and Lila share a look before you teasingly say, “You're staring.” Lila adds, “At his butt.”

“Lila! Y/N! God!” Kimberly exclaims before stomping off. You snort and start wiping down a table. You pause for a second before you say, “Hey, Lila? Do you know where Canaan is? I haven’t seen him all day.”

Lila glances over at you, and then says in a teasing voice, “Oh my god! You two spent a whole day apart? I never thought I would see the best friends separated from each other.” You roll your eyes at her, and she finally says, “He’s probably just chilling at the KJ house. You know how he is sometimes.”

You nod in agreement, before looking at the time. “Shit! I have to go. Do you think you can finish up these tables for me?” Lila nods, and you quickly take off your apron and run to your bike.

When you pull up to the Women's Center, you see that Alicia had parked her car right where you normally park your bike. You storm inside and start talking, not noticing the new person that you are interrupting.

“Alicia! How many times do I have to say this! That is my damn parking space. You have one literally two spots down.” You heard a ding from the safe space bell. “Sorry, Ginger. I heard it.”

When you finally look around, you see a new person. “ Well you must be Leighton. I’m Y/N. She, her, hers. I hope everyone has introduced themselves to you.”

The others quickly scramble to introduce themselves.

“I'm Ginger. She, her, hers.”

“Lindsay. She, her, hers.”

“Alicia. She, her, hers.”

“Tova. They, them, theirs.”

Leighton makes a non-committal noise and states, “Oh, right. Sure. Well, I'm she. Obviously.” You restrain yourself from rolling your eyes. She’s one of those people. Sensing the tension, Alicia pipes up. “Cool. I oversee all the volunteers.”

“So do I. I do scheduling and sign off on hours, while Alicia recruits and organizes events so that volunteers can volunteer.” Leighton sighs and says, “Oh, great. Should we talk about scheduling? Um, I was thinking that I would work mornings from 9:30 to 10:15-ish, and then, you know, round that up to an hour, for timesheet purposes.”

You can’t help but roll your eyes this time. “Yeah, that's not how this works. I'll tell you when we need help, and that's when you'll be here. Like tomorrow from 5:00 to 10:00, you'll be helping with our feminist poetry group.”

Leighton sighs and puts on a fake sympathetic voice. “As tempting as that sounds, I'm kind of busy on Fridays.” You snap back. “Shit, I didn't realize that. Maybe we should just shut down the whole place till you're free.”

Leighton lets out an astonished laugh. “Okay, I am from New York, so I can tell that you're being sarcastic.” Ginger waves to get your attention. “Hey, this is, uh, getting a little tense. I'm gonna hit the Safe Space Bell.” You nod, and she dings the bell.

Leighton looks around, confused. “What? Why does she keep hitting that stupid bell?” This time, Alicia answers her question. “It's a bell that we hit when we think it'd be good to have a safe space.”

Leighton scoffs. “Uh, isn't this already a safe space? Okay. I'm just saying that maybe we've gotten a little bit too sensitive as a society if even a safe space isn't-- Oh, my God!” Ginger hit the bell again.

Alicia waves Ginger off. “It's all good, Ginger. What we do here, whether it seems stupid to you or not, really does help people. So we're not looking for your feedback at the moment, okay?”

You add, “Oh, and don't say your pronouns are obvious. That makes you suck. Suggesting that you don't have to use your pronouns when other people do makes you sound like a really dumb, cis bitch.” Ginger hits the bell one more time. “I heard it, Ginger! Welcome to the Women's Center, Leighton. See you at poetry night.”

You watch Leighton storm out before walking into the Women's Center office with Alicia in tow. “Jesus Christ! Could she get any more entitled? I mean, she’s hot as fuck, but my god. You know, I met her brother today during my shift at Sips. He’s a really nice guy. The looks definitely run in the family. If she wasn’t so straight, I would totally go for her.”

“Damn, Y/N. You definitely have a type. You like bitchy girls. But I do agree with you on this one, she is hot.” Alicia exclaims. You sigh and sit down at the desk in the office. You need to figure out how to handle Leighton without blowing up on her. This was going to be harder than you thought.

Later that evening, you were helping Alicia get set up for poetry night. Once people started to file in, you put out the sign up list to figure out the order in which people would be going. You hear boots clicking on the floor, and then see a shadow come over you.

Without looking up you say, “Hey, Leighton.” She lets out a surprised noise and asks, “How did you know it was me?” You roll your eyes and finally look up. “Because you are the only person who comes to this Center wearing Louboutin boots.”

She scoffs and says, “Surprised you know what they are. Didn’t take you for a shoe person.” You laugh at that and state, “I’m not, but I have dated many girls who are. Funny thing is, you are exactly my type. Beautiful, bitchy, stylish. One little problem. I don’t date assholes.”

“Another little problem. I’m straight.” She states in a slightly shaky voice, which she internally curses herself for.

You smirk at her, not missing the tremor in her voice. “That hasn’t stopped me before.”

Warner Music Announces A Romantic, Neo-Noir Thriller Podcast, "Underwater"

Interval Presents, Warner Music Group’s (WMG) in-house podcast network, has unveiled the cast and details for its upcoming romantic, neo-noir thriller, “Underwater.” Primarily set in a high-end island resort, the scripted podcast series follows the compelling journey of Nico, played by Jason Derulo and Ana, played by Alexandra Shipp, whose deep romantic connection is threatened by lies and deception — both Nico’s covert mission and the skeletons in Ana’s closet. Produced by Clamor and Temple Hill Entertainment and set to release on October 31, “Underwater” is a rollercoaster love story told in the form of a narrative album. The series features brand new, original music from Jason Derulo woven into the story and score, creating an innovative and immersive listening experience and making for a groundbreaking event at the cutting edge of audio entertainment.

Derulo, of course, is a popular American pop and R&B singer and songwriter. Since the start of his solo recording career in 2009, he has sold over 250 million singles worldwide and has achieved eleven platinum singles.

Alexandra Shipp is an American actress and singer who rose to prominence for portraying singer Aaliyah in the Lifetime television film Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B (2014) and Kimberly Woodruff in the Oscar-nominated film Straight Outta Compton (2015).

Shipp is probably best known for playing Storm in the X-Men franchise, starting with X-Men: Apocalypse,

Alongside Derulo and Shipp, the cast includes Beau Bridgland, Michael Dearie, Aneesha DuBois, Andrew Frankel, Melissa Greenspan, Alice Hunter, Jeremy Jordan, Josh Keaton, Tara Langella, Jonathan Leon, Donis Leonard Jr., Michael McGlone, Carla Renata, Giancarlo Sabogal, David Shatraw, Andre Sogliuzzo, and Cameron J. Wright, each contributing their unique voices to the series.

What I continue to like about these Warner Music Group podcast launches is that, in some form, these podcasts revolve around music, an area where Warner has pre-existing expertise. The involvement of talents such as Derulo and Shipp bodes well for the success, and the quality of the upcoming podcast.

Nico/Kimberly Fix-It Fic

AKA - a story fixing that bomb of a last episode

Leighton stormed into the AKO house, flipping off one of the fraternity brothers as she headed directly to her brother’s room. Maya was safely on a plane back to Barcelona which meant Leighton was now safe to ask her brother what the fuck he was doing. She knocked on the door twice, and when he didn’t answer, another three times with an added kick with the toe of her boot. The door opened and a bleary-eyed Nico met her.

“Did you just kick my door?”

She pushed past him into the room, asking, “So, when did you start sleeping with my roommate? And don’t even try to deny it.”

Nico exhaled sharply and closed the door. “She told you.”

“No, she didn’t tell me. I noticed the way you were staring at her when she left your party. Seriously, Nico, of all my roommates you had to pick Kimberly? It’s like kicking a puppy.”

“It’s not like I looked at your roommates and thought I’m going to sleep with one of them. She was just…I don’t know…I never meant for all of this to happen.”

“Oh, don’t even start. You tutored her in French and then you posted that thirsty as fuck comment about her dress.” Nico’s eyes widened. “Yeah, I saw it before you deleted it. But, I thought you were just, I don’t know, being a douche-y frat guy. I didn’t think you were stupid enough to actually do something.”

“It’s not what you think. I really like Kimberly. She’s different.”

“Yeah. You know how she isn’t different? When she finds out the guy she’s been seeing has a secret girlfriend.”

Nico was quiet for a moment before he asked, “How is she?”

“Not great. Thanks to you, I’ve gotten to hear Alanis Morisette blasting from her room all weekend.”

“Maybe I should try to see her again.”

“Um, that’s the worst fucking idea I have ever heard. You cannot go see her.”

“I broke up with Maya.”

For the second time that weekend, Leighton was surprised. “Good for you, but were you still dating her when you were sleeping with Kimberly? Because, if the answer is yes, doesn’t really matter.”

“Look, I don’t know what else I’m supposed to do. I messed up. I know that. But, I’m trying to make things right here.”

Leighton wasn’t accustomed to seeing her brother upset. He was always so easy-going, but now she could see the distress plainly on his face. If she had been dubious about his intentions with Kimberly before, she now saw she had been wrong. It seemed her brother had developed feelings for her roommate from Arizona.

“It was a shit thing to not tell her about Maya.”

“I know.”

“And if I were her, you would be dead to me. Like, buried.” Nico winced. “But, she’s from the Midwest, so I’m guessing she’s a bit more forgiving. I’ll help you.”

“Thank you, Leighton. I-“

“But,” she interrupted, holding up a hand. “If you pull this shit again, I will take her side. Sister or not.”

The plan was for fall break. Essex customarily had a week-long break for its students the last week of October. Before the Nico business, Kimberly had talked excessively about how her town put on a Civil War re-enactment throughout the month of October and how her family went every year in home-made costumes. Honestly, Leighton had largely tuned out the talk – how could someone get this excited about people in costumes - but then she got an idea.

“We’re going to that re-enactment.”

“You can’t be serious,” Nico said. “She won’t talk to me. How is following her out to Arizona a good idea?” “Because it shows you’re serious. Only someone who really likes a person would subject themselves to a re-enactment.” She held her phone out toward him. “Now, look at these uniforms and order one.”

Nico scrolled through the uniforms. “These are all over five hundred dollars.”

Leighton tilted her head to the side. “Maybe you shouldn’t have slept with her when you had a girlfriend?”

“You’re going to throw that in my face every time I disagree, aren’t you?”

“Yes. I absolutely am. Now, pick a uniform.”

“What are you wearing?”

Leighton laughed. “Oh. I’m not wearing a costume. I’ll be playing on my phone at a nearby coffee shop in case this all implodes.”

“You can’t be serious.”

“I’m not the one who needs to use embarrassment as a means of groveling. That’s just you, Nico.”

Nico grumbled something under his breath and then dutifully chose a uniform.

“Done,” he said, giving her back her phone. Without a word, Leighton held out her hand and Nico handed her his credit card.
