On a scale of 1-10 how 100% gay is Rock Lee? This is a vital question.
okay so i’m gonna preface this by saying i believe sexuality headcanons are a very personal thing that should and do vary from person to person, that is the beauty of head canons in general, they are your own personal opinions, that being said:
i headcanon rock lee as a bisexual man bc i do multiship him with gaalee, nejilee, sakulee, and sometimes nejitenlee.
i actually headcanon a lot of characters as bisexual bc as a bisexual person i yearn for representation in my favorite characters.

Top 5 Theater Moments?
thank you!!! also, ooooh man this is so much harder than top 5 plays or musicals. i’m not gonna lie. this took me at least an hour and a half to think through and be selective. like... only five? my god.
i’m going to just state it now—the entirety of tony kushner’s angels in america. i thought about listing several moments, such as when prior and harper first meet, the “dance with me babe” scene, or the classic “more life” scene. but ultimately, when i think about the best-written and most impactful scene, there’s one right answer: the split scene between harper and joe where harper realizes that joe's the man with the knives and prior and louis where prior tells louis that he loves but that his love is worth nothing. it’s such a wave of emotion and just so brilliant from a writing perspective as well. i love the parallels between harper and prior so, so much.
in sarah ruhl's eurydice, when eurydice’s father builds her a house of string. it’s transformational, deeply emotional, and utterly heart-wrenching considering the play and myth’s ending.
all the moments in deaf west spring awakening when the deaf actors are acting out the emotions and intimacy while the “voices” just take up the choreography and singing are excellent. however, one moment that stands out to me is when sandra mae frank (who is deaf and has just been signing throughout the musical) breaks that divide. she’s devastated and upset at her mom for not telling her that she could get pregnant from sex and asks her, “why didn’t you tell me?” it is one of those moments that sticks with you.
at the end of paula vogel's indecent, when the rain pours down and we see this vision of manke and rifkele dancing in the rain, madly in love, is legit making me tear up right now just thinking about it. we've seen this seen time and time again but only ever acted out. but here, in this vision, it's real and it's visceral, and when water pours across the stage, it's cathartic and heartbreaking all at once.
all of these are horrifically sad, so how about one funny scene that still makes me laugh when i remember it? when anatole entered in the great comet, and the whole scene froze as he struck some model poses, i lost my entire goddamn mind.
put “top 5” anything in my ask and i will answer

30, 1, 14, 17!!!
30: A song that reminds you of yourself
Hmm there’s a lot and frankly most of them are p depressing but instead of those let’s go with… “It’s Not My Fault, I’m Happy” by Passion Pit. That’s the song/album that got me into them in the first place. And then there’s “Turn Back” by Ryan Roth which I heard in a random let’s play of something or other but it’s great. Also if you just go to my 8tracks (it’s just lonelylinguist) there’s a lot of mixes on there and some of them are more personal I guess.
1: A song you like with a color in the title
或る街の群青 by Asian Kung-fu Generation is usually translated as “A Town in Blue” but more literally it’s like… “the lapis blue of a certain town”… not as good a mouth feel. Anyway it’s the closing song of one of my favorite movies Tekkonkinkreet which you, Nico, specifically, should watch with me. I remember when I first heard it I was like well…. this is it……. my new favorite song forever………
14: A song that you would love played at your wedding
I don’t actually want a wedding but in this hypothetical imaginary wedding it’s gotta be something like Queen right? Maybe I’ll play Ruple’s “Call Me Mother”, just so everyone there knows where everyone else is at.
17: A song that you would sing a duet with on karaoke
Duets are so much pressure like… what’s wrong with a nice round? But for real if it’s at a karaoke it’s gotta be one of those classic like, this-is-my-heritage-as-an-American type tracks… “Don’t Stop Believing” or smth

Stegmaier is where it's at tho! Viticulture is one of my top 5. :D have you tried terraforming mars yet? Charterstone? Any of the legacy games?
We’ve played Terraforming Mars, Elzie owns it and we love it. She has the Venus Next expansion but we haven’t tried it yet. We played through all of Pandemic Legacy season 1 (twice, with a slight group shift) and are working on PL Season 2 now, though we’re only in, iirc, March. We played through all of Charterstone and while it was fun I think there was a bit more playtesting and reworking that could have been done to it; it just sort of becomes very clear near the end of it how to win every game. Also, we’re bad at games so we frequently pissed off the king accidentally
Pandemic Season 1 was fucking crazy I remember thinking “this is a good game but it could do x and y and z” and then you get to the stuff around September and jesus FUCK. Amazing, amazing goddamn game.
Elzie has a bigger collection than me and Frozen’s collection is bigger than both of ours but here’s some of the games I own off the top of my head:
3012 - have not played this game, got it from Geekway one year for free, it’s still unopened
Abyss - one of our favorites but only plays 4 and our group is often 5
Anomia - great for parties and drunk birthdays
Anomia X - the “adult” version of Anomia
Castles of Mad King Ludwig - I bought this in Canada when I was there for Elzie/Rosa’s wedding, you build a castle with some set collection elements
Deus - tableau builder + civ builder
Dominant Species - really heavy worker placement game that doesn’t get tabled much because Rosa hates it and it’s long
Euphoria - my first stegmaier game, loved it and haven’t put shit down since
Evolution - have played this but my version is new, species-based tableau builder
Ex Libris - library game with some fun and silly magical flavor
Five Tribes - mancala meets set collection
Mysterium - English ed., likely getting math traded at some point, we have uh a weird History with this game that means it doesn’t get tabled
Scythe - I love stegmaier
Shakespeare: this one is cool and is a twist on worker placement and I love it but I haven’t played it in a dog’s age
Shogunate - I think my copy of this is still in Elzie and Rosa’s car, free geekway game
Steam Traders - I bought this for like $20 but it’s actually never gotten tabled
Tales of the Arabian Nights - storytelling game which is fun but very heavy and has some sort of shitty mechanics compared to other storytelling games we’ve played since, namely Above and Below/Near and Far, which Elzie owns
Terra Mystica - amazing game, heavy in all the right ways, perfect fuckin game
Valeria: Card Kingdoms - dice rolling tableau builder fantasy adventure which I WON!!! for free!! at geekway this year
Viticulture - i …. love stegmaier
chances are high that I missed some.
I also kickstarted Root which should be getting mailed to me anytime, I’m really excited for it

What do you think of Steven Apicello's Boy Witch?
Early on I wasn’t sure, but it really grew on me.  I realized that his height threw me off in the beginning, but I like his “attitude.”  I also think I’ve only seen it a few times, which is unusual for me.

Pleeeeeeease tell us why Bernie Sanders is trash? I'm super curious!
Oh man. Well, first of all, he published an essay that normalized rape in the 1970s, though he’s since recanted on that. (Which is still pretty fucked up IMO, he was in his 30s and can’t chalk it up to youthfulness.)
To get to more of the issues with him in the  contemporary era, I’m going to link to a couple of tweet threads (both by WOC) I find helpful: x x
The essential version is this: Bernie Sanders is a person who refuses any form of compromise on his ideas - and this is a really bad thing for a politician. The fact is, the current political climate does not allow for the kind of things Bernie wants to happen in full measure. Instead, it necessitates a form of compromise - introducing the programs in more limited forms with gradual expansion. This is the kind of thing the Democratic party is trying to do, and Sanders spends seemingly half his time shitting on the Dems for not doing enough, even though they’re actually doing things, unlike him. He, and many if not most of people who still closely follow him, are dismissive of organization and resistance efforts by both elected Democrats and other groups, saying that the Democrats are incapable of organizing which is a) not true (look at the AHCA, current filibuster of Gorsuch, Women’s March, Planned Parenthood, recent special elections) and b) fundamentally harmful to the potential of doing any real resistance to Trump’s plans, which requires Democratic organization.
He’s also VERY dismissive of identity politics, which is an attitude that’s hugely harmful for POC, LGBTQIA individuals, religious minorities, and women, all of whom have issues that affect them regulated to the area of identity politics. Rather than bothering with the specific issues that affect these groups, he focuses on a fantasy that economic ships will raise all boats to an equal level, which is not true.
Basically, Bernie Sanders doesn’t actually give a shit about any measure of progress actually occurring as long as he can claim some false moral purity and he definitely doesn’t give a shit about the particular needs and oppression of marginalized groups.

Pairing: Sasuke x Naruto
Word Count: 1545
Warnings: angst, longing, brief descriptions of violence
A/N: This is the THIRD time i’m trying to post this so hopefully it works this time. Requested by @nicosdisangelic with the prompts “Marry me” and “Munchkin”
Sasuke gripped the sheets as his eyes snapped open, heart pounding in his ears. He reached across a bed that felt like a canyon only to find the other side empty. His pulse raced. He was alone and the darkness was closing in.
The toilet flushed and Naruto emerged, still rubbing sleep from his eyes. If he saw the panic written in Sasuke’s face he didn’t mention it. Instead, Naruto stretched and his shirt lifted, revealing the soft patch of skin across his stomach, covered in spots and bites where Sasuke needed to remind them both that he was home.
Naruto clambered into bed, tumbling over Sasuke and tangling their limbs. Sasuke huffed, narrowly avoiding an elbow to the face. “You’re so annoying.“
"Mm,” Naruto agreed, already half asleep again. Sasuke watched his face relax, watched the upward turn of his mouth as Sasuke traced a finger across his cheek. Even with his family’s fire jutsus, Sasuke had yet to find anything that burned as bright as Naruto.
When he was sure Naruto was asleep, Sasuke leaned over to press a kiss to his temple, taking a moment to inhale his scent, to imprint the moment in his memory with the Sharingan. Surely, even he deserved this snippet of joy. Naruto nuzzled closer to him, tucking his head under Sasuke’s chin and, for a moment, Sasuke believed in heaven.
“Marry me,” Sasuke whispered. The words took him by surprise, and he immediately tensed, eyes shooting to Naruto to see if hed heard. If the drool dripping down his chin was any indication, Naruto was still sound asleep. Sasuke closed his eyes too, knowing sleep wouldn’t come but content to spend a few more hours  in some semblance of peace. He pressed himself closer to Naruto and, in the darkness, Sasuke was no longer sure where his body ended and Naruto’s began.
A clattering in the kitchen jolted Sasuke awake. He blinked a few times. He’d never fallen back asleep after a nightmare, but for once Sasuke felt….rested. He pinched himself just to make sure he was actually awake, though the pain in his eyes should’ve been enough to reassure him. He was awake. He was alive. He was home.
Another crash from the kitchen and Sasuke was out of bed. He grabbed his glasses from the nightstand and opened the bedroom door to sounds of cursing from the kitchen.
“Choji said this would be easy,” Naruto whispered, “I’ve never wanted to kick a bowl’s ass before but there’s a first for everything, ‘ttebayo."
Sasuke couldn’t help the small tsk that left his lips as he leaned against the counter. Naruto whipped around, hiding the bowl behind his back as if he’d been caught with Kakashi’s collection of Icha Icha. "S-sasuke. I didn’t hear you come in.”
“Because you’re a terrible ninja,” he said with no bite to his words.
Naruto scowled. “Yeah, I could still get the better of you.”
Sasuke smiled. “As if, loser."
Naruto smirked, and it sent a shiver down Sasuke’s spine, though he’d die before he let Naruto see it. Naruto stalked forward until he was in front of Sasuke. Then, he reached out to put the bowl in his hands on the counter behind them, leaning so close to Sasuke he could feel Naruto’s chest rising with each breath.
"If I remember,” Naruto said, breath fanning Sasuke’s cheek. “I got the better of you last night.” The images flashed through Sasuke’s mind, another abuse of the Sharingan no doubt, but with Naruto above him making such sweet noises, who could blame him?
Still, Sasuke gave no outward sign of yielding. “Only because I let you.” He was breathless and Naruto heard it. Sasuke could feel his smirk against his skin.
Naruto nipped at Sasuke’s earlobe, and Sasuke curled his fingers into fists to keep himself from moaning at the touch. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, munchkin."
Sasuke rolled his eyes, pressing his hands against Naruto’s chest and shoving him away. "What a way to ruin the moment."
Naruto feigned hurt and Sasuke hated how much he wanted to kiss him. "What’s the matter, Sasuke-kun? Too cool for pet names?"
"I hate you,” Sasuke grumbled.
“Oh really,” Naruto said. The shit-eating grin that spread across his face made Sasuke’s chest tighten. He turned away and reached for the bowl Naruto had placed on the counter, trying desperately to hide the flush creeping into his cheeks.
Naruto put his hands on Sasuke’s hips to still him and Sasuke let himself be still. He let himself feel the weight of the bowl in his hand and the weight of the moment between them as Naruto pressed himself flush against Sasuke’s back. Sasuke let himself feel Naruto’s lips ghosting against his spine and he wondered how he ever left Konoha in the first place.
“If you hate me, why would you ask me to marry you?"
Just like that, Sasuke couldn’t breathe. It was too much. He was Atlas and his shoulders ached under the weight of Naruto’s touch. He was crumbling and he wanted to ask, to scream, to beg Naruto to put him back together but the courage wouldn’t come and the silence was filled with the white hot rage that had kept Sasuke company since he’d first tasted the sting of loss.
"I never asked,” Sasuke spat, all venom as he shoved away from the counter, pushing Naruto away in the process.
“I know you thought I was asleep but-"
"I don’t want to marry you.” Sasuke knew it was a lie as soon as the words left his mouth. Naruto knew too, but that didn’t stop the hurt flashing through his eyes. The silence was nearly as suffocating as the intimacy, stretching out until it threatened to swallow them whole.
Naruto’s voice was soft when he finally broke the silence, as if he was afraid he’d scare Sasuke away. “If you did, I’d say yes."
A lifetime of memories flashed through Sasuke’s mind: bright eyes and a flash of teeth as Naruto met him on his family’s dock; the sting of blood and absence of fear as he towered over Naruto, Haku’s needles still in his back; the feel of Naruto’s skin breaking against his as they fought for the first time; the weight of the sword in Sasuke’s hand as he held it under Naruto’s chin when they fought for the last. How many years of pain had he put Naruto through? How many years had Naruto followed him anyway?
"Ask me again.” Naruto’s voice was firm, but his eyes betrayed his fear.
Sasuke’s tongue was lead in his mouth. It was an anchor and he was drowning, thrashing about in a sea of doubt and guilt. He wanted to marry Naruto, wanted to give him the life he deserved. The family Konoha had robbed them both of. He wanted to reach out and pull Naruto close to his chest and lie together until their souls were bound, but instead he turned away and scraped the bowl clean in the sink.
Naruto managed to bite back a sob but not the hiccup that followed and Sasuke hated himself. The bowl in his hands cracked under his grip and Sasuke wondered if he’d do the same to Naruto’s heart.
Naruto took a steadying breath and stepped forward, his footsteps like foghorns in the cloud of Sasuke’s mind. He reached an arm out but stopped short. Sasuke could feel Naruto’s fingertips against the hem of his shirt and he wanted to scream touch me touch me dear God please touch me but he stayed frozen against the sink despite the fire burning through his veins.
“You deserve to be touched softly,” Naruto said finally, pressing the pads of his fingers against the skin of Sasuke’s hip. “I won’t let you push me away. Not until you believe it too."
"Ask me,” Sasuke gasped out, hands balling into fists again so the the bite of his nails in his palm could distract him from the bite of tears in his eyes.
“Wha-”
“Just shut up and ask me.”
“Marry me,” Naruto said without a moment’s hesitation and Sasuke couldn’t help but laugh as the tears spilled freely. Naruto had always been braver than him. Why should this be any different?
He turned and pressed his lips to Naruto’s. It was wet and messy and beautiful. There was too much teeth and too much space between them, but Naruto pulled away, panting. He put his forehead on Sasuke’s and the whole world seemed to stop. Sasuke saw stars in Naruto’s eyes. He wanted to get lost in them forever.
“Is that a yes?” Naruto busied himself looking at the point where their bodies met, reminding himself that Sasuke was here to stay. Sasuke, however, couldn’t bring himself to look away from Naruto’s face. Bathed in sunlight, he looked like a work of art. An angel carved out of marble. Hard and soft and beautiful, begging to be touched. He was so bright it made Sasuke ache.
“I want to be bright too,” Sasuke said. It was a prayer, and Naruto was it’s keeper.
Naruto pressed a palm to Sasuke’s cheek, relished in the way he leaned into it. “You already are.”

Into The Spiderverse: A Trope I Do Not Understand
Overall, this was a phenomenal film. The visuals were stunning. Simply put: This was a unique take on a comic book film which reminded me of my first viewing of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Fresh. Crisp. It handled the animation precisely how I believe we should.
The story was nothing to write home about. Villains had interesting new designs, loved this version of Doc Oc, but were somewhat bland. A touch cliche, but no less entertaining. I got what I expected, and what I expected was precisely what I wanted. It was a superhero origin with a twist, utilizing classic and fresh forms from across the Marvel Multiverse.
But here's what I don't understand. Why does Miles, the black Spiderman, have electric powers in addition to his spider powers? There is this strange trope I have witnessed, and I am not the only one, with black super heroes and electricity as their power. Storm (though storms, but still lots of lightning), Black Vulcan, Static Shock, Black Lightning, Volt... and now Miles Morales as Ultimate Spiderman, it's bizarre. Bear in mind, I am not familiar with this incarnation of spiderman, and I'm not sure if it is in the comics. And I dont know if it stands out because of the lack in diversity of traditional super heroes, thus making it appear that there is a strange trend towards electricity while the distribution is fine, or if it's some sort of nod to past incarnations of black heroes. I had a brief discussion with my friends about this trope and its prevalence. @nicosdisangelic suggested that their is a tendency to find something that is non-stereotypical for these black heroes to use as their power to avoid potential conflict. There doesnt seem to be anything inherantly stereotypical or racist about electric powers. Black heroes shouldnt rely on enhanced physical and athletic abilities due to the possibility of being perceived as somewhere close to 'savage' or 'natural', essentially rephrasing 'exotic' and highlighting these attributes as one might to exemplify a black person's difference from the mythological 'white standard.' But that doesnt explain Storm's existence as a literal nature god. Black Panther stands out as an exception, given his skills are basically his enhanced athletic abilities. But he stands out also in the fact that he is intelligent, a diplomat, utlizies technology, and is surrounded by other capable black characters.
But most of the other Spiderpeople in this film and across the multiverse have the same range of powers: strength, agility, spidey-sense, sticky fingers, web. But Miles, inexplicably, is the only one who has the "Venom Strike", an electrical discharge attack. It just seems odd that the only black spiderman also has electric powers for some reason, especially when stood up against the history of black heroes and electric powers. Still, a good film I would like to watch again.
Any thoughts?
