The double standards in stans reactions to the wolffs doing something versus anybody else in this fandom is something else. The stans use everything and anything to discredit their behateds moral character but when it's their beloved wollfs they pretend not to see it. Toto cheated on his wife the mother of his older kids with Susie his employee at the time can this fandom as whole not hold them as the unproblematic power couple. Toto is known to have had as ignorant takes as Marko but because of the gokarts in the rain comment on dts Toto is the Saint that would've saved max in their eyes as if toto isn't buddies with jos irl for years

Am I shocked? Um no because he’s a good looking billionaire can be real for a sec here 😂 but we clearly don’t talk about this bit of lore enough because…tell me more.
Yeah, like if you look at the people Toto is known to be friendly with…it tells a story. And no shade to him, you don’t have to agree with someone’s every action to be friends with them, and you don’t have to apologise for being friends with someone anyway. But. It’s a little hilarious that you want to get high and mighty about “issues” when you have been friends with vilified personality Jos Verstappen, and (even jokingly) offer to have Helmut Marko on board in the team when you have been preaching about diversity for the last decade. My guy, be so real with me right now. It’s okay to be who you are, you just have to be honest about it.
Side note, people do overcook the rivalries between these people. At the end of the day, these guys are all friends/friendly. They live in a Petri dish and they share passions/interests, why would they not be friends? Also, let’s not forget that crowd favourite Nikki Lauda was besties with Helmut, too. The whole “guilty by association” thing is such a stupid game to play in F1 because they are ALL associated at management level.
Lol Toto is the Francis of Assisi of F1, patron Saint of the downtrodden and dispossessed. His rehab centre for washed up drivers will never not be funny to me. I low-key find his adoption of driver creepy but that’s a topic for a different ask lol.
We all know I get the ick from Toto and Susie, they’re just not a bit of me. There’s a bit of self righteousness there that is just so…not for me.
I am not in the least surprised that her statement has been well received. She is indeed well liked. That being said, I do think that on top of the RB stuff and the Sulayem investigation, any statement of this nature would be well received right now. People are baying for “transparency”, whatever that means. So I don’t think she’s receiving unusual/heightened support for this particularly.
But in general, I agree that those two could get away with murder.

F1 Driver's Championship winners who switched teams right after they won it
This post was inspired by a question asked by @vro0m the other day. Although they were asking about drivers who left WCC winning teams, i thought drivers champions who ditched their teams would be interesting as well.
Juan Manuel Fangio, 1956->57; Ferrari->Maserati. (was known to drive for a different team after each of his championship wins up yo this point, but its important to note those times had to do with his teams leaving the sport. The only time it was his decision was 1956->57)
Alberto Ascari, 1953->1954; Ferrari->Lancia (Not paid enough, perhaps on the grounds that he was risking his life)
Denny Hulme, 1967->68; Brabham->McLaren (can't find a source on this one but he was extremely close to Bruce McLaren and had driven for him in other race series. To give an idea of why i think their closeness could have been a factor, he was considered a man of fewer words and emotions than Kimi Raikonen, but openly weeped at Bruces death in 1970 during a testing accident)
Jackie Stewart, 1969->70; Matra->Tyrell (this could be semantic. Matra International was a "privateer" team from 1968->69 which was actually a collab between Tyrell the man and the french company Matra. The name of Stewart's team changes from 69-70 because Tyrell the man prefered maintaining a working relationship with Ford whereas Matra was moving on to Chrysler. Wikipedia articles partially seem to think the Tyrell team is basically a continuation of the Matra International team the year prior since Tyrell the man was technically the team owner of each. Matra however enters a works team in 1970 that also ran one race in 1969 so its confusing. )
Jochen Rindt, Honorable mention; he died in the Italian GP practice in 1970. He had such a big lead he still won the championship in spite of his passing.
Nikki Lauda, 1977->78; Ferrari->Brabham (Nikki's huge accident that almost killed him in the 1976 season changed his outlook on racing in exceptionally poor weather conditions. As a result, he refused to race in the 1976 Japanese GP, and lost the championship to James Hunt in the process. Ferarri was pissed about this and it deteriorated his relationship with Ferrari severely for the 1977 season. After being treated so poorly (even in the driver lineup from his point of view) he decided to leave despite winning the championship. Its important to note however that he's believed to have won by consistency despite the car's outright slower pace, so he might have also had technical concerns)
Nelson Piquet, 1987->88; Williams->Lotus (in 86 and 87 Piquet was racing alongside Nigel Mansel in a WCC winning Williams. According to Piquet he had an agreement with team owner Frank Williams that he would be the number one driver for 86, an agreement he felt was neglected after Frank got in a car accident and left the team in the management of Mansel's race engineer. Specifically, he was upset that Mansel was not ordered to let him pass for the race win on two occasions that year, and had he been let through he would have been champion rather than Alain Prost. The relationship never recovered from that, but for some reason Piquet waited to leave. It is worth noting that he signed for Lotus before winning the 87 championship. Additionally Mansel finished first in more races than him that year but lost because of Piquet's podium consistency)
Alain Prost, 1989->1990; McLaren->Ferrari (ho boy. Long story partially short, Prost believed Honda (engine supplier) favored Senna, and therefore so did McLaren for the 1988-89 seasons, to the point of even giving Senna a better engine in the 1989 season. Supposedly for the 1988 season a Honda employee confirmed the suspicion while speaking to Prost in person, but promised he'd do his best to change that for 89. Prost did not believe this had occured, as he felt his car was underperforming Senna's in 89. His biggest piece of evidence was that while running a better straight-line-speed setup than Senna in Mexico, he still was not being able to pass Senna by engine power on the straight. For Honda's part, they had a major press event where they tried to explain technically why Senna's driving style suited the engine better, but the employee giving the interview kept referring to prost by his surname but not Senna, which is a sign of a stronger personal relationship in Japanese culture and was taken as a sign of bias)
Nigel Mansell, 1992->93; Williams->N/A (retired)
Michael Schumacher, 1995->96; Benneton->Ferrari (Schumacher's official statement is that he abandoned his contract with Benneton a year early due to "the teams damaging actions in 1994" to use wikipedias wording. The teams actions include: software shenanigans where the car was found to have the supposedly unused ability to correct bad manual starts, which would give the driver the ability to have perfect starts regardless of their affectiveness with the clutch; ignoring a black flag for a safety car overtake; and having a skidblock that was so worn down it suggested Benneton was ignoring aero regulations)
Damon Hill, 1996->97; Williams->Arrows (this one doesny count because it was outside of Hill's control, but it's really funny. Williams sacked him in favor of Heinz-Harald Frentzen, whom i have never heard of and apparently would only ever win 3 F1 races in his career. Hill chose Arrows not because they were the best team with an offer, but because they wanted to pay him the most. His career sucked after that)
Fernando Alonso, 2006->2007; Renault->McLaren (wikipedia straight up just doesnt explain this. A reddit thread gives a lot of uncited opinions as to why, but a significantly large number of their users cite that McLaren was seen as a consistently top team in this era while Renault was seen as volitale. With Alonso signing for 2007 as early as late 2005, heres some possible factors: Renault's bizzare lack of commitment to staying in the sport; McLaren winning more races in late 2005 than Renault; Renault's success was partially attributed to weird tire rules).
Jenson Button 2009->10; Brawn->McLaren (Brawn was bought out to become mercedes, but was left to its Brawn leadership to still run the team. Jenson won the championship because of dominance at the beginning that was cut short by not developing the car enough. He still won overall, but Jenson asked for a larger focus on in-season developement for the next year as a condition for staying. Ultimately, he was spoked off when he discovered mercedes didnt have enough sponsors for their plan yet)

Apropos of nothing, Nikki Lauda also said Lewis' driving would get someone killed at some point. Michael Schumacher was generally unhinged, Max vs Ocon in 2018 was child's play in comparison. Senna... yeah, him too. It seems that to be in the GOAT conversation you have to be a specific kind of maniac and it's quite interesting.

F1 Overdrive: Lewis Hamilton And Toto Wolff Close Iconoclast
Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton took the stage alongside billionaire team owner, CEO and team principal Toto Wolff in the last panel of the first day of Iconoclast.
Wolff credited the growth of the eight-time championship-winning team to its racing legend Nikki Lauda and attributed its success to the entire team of engineers and Mercedes F1 employees. “We’re not a team of a few stars, but we’re a team of 2,500 stars,” he said.
Hamilton first joined the team in 2013 after winning his first world title with the McLaren, saying he “wanted to be a part of something bigger.” Hamilton’s success in the sport extends beyond his racing titles as the driver focuses also on “increasing diversity not only in the team but the entire sport.” In 2019, Hamilton spearheaded efforts to launch the Hamilton Commission, an effort to increase representation of Black people in UK motosport. “Toto has been an amazing leader,” he said of Wolff’s support for his efforts in and outside the track.
Hamilton’s newest venture – Mission 44 – aims to increase the number of engineers in the sport.
After a controversial end to the 2021 racing season, both Wolff and Hamilton acknowledged the tough seasons the team has had, coming in third in the constructor’s championship in the 2022 season. “We need to acknowledge that we need to re-energize the group and sometimes that takes a while,” said Wolff. Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes expires at the end of this season, but he’s in discussions on a new contract and Wolff gestured that they’re close to an agreement.
Formula One’s popularity in the United States has skyrocketed in recent years since the Netflix show “Drive to Survive” brought in 643,000 viewers in its season five debut in April. “We’re actually seeing our strongest growing fanbase is young females in the sport,” said Wolff.

Finally. All the bandages were off. The scarring was almost complete. He was missing approximately a third of his face. He continued to stare at himself in the bathroom mirror in disgust. Now he's even uglier.
Emily notices her husband staring at himself. She enters the bathroom and places a gentle yet long kiss on Nikki's cheek. The not injured one. The warm touch soothed the driver. Emily pulled away to rest her head on his shoulder. Nikki wraps an arm around her waist.
"How is our marriage going to survive?" Nikki asked. Emily lifts her head to stare at her husband in shock.
"What?" Emily breathes. Nikki removes himself from her, turning his back.
"I look like this. People called me a rat before. Now what are they going to call me? A monster? They are going to question why you're still with me." Nikki rants. Emily places a hand on his shoulder.
"Nikki, you're still the man I married. Your accident didn't change who you are as a person. Sure you look different, but I don't care. Let them question me. But I know what I want in my heart and mind. And that's you. Don't let the public dictate our marriage." Emily pleaded. Nikki turns around, causing his wife's hand to slide back down to her side.
"I am giving you an opening to leave. To leave and find someone better. Someone more handsome and has a safe job where you know they will come home from. Someone who has the stamina to keep up in bed." As much as Emily hate to admit it, Nikki was right. Sex now goes a bit slower due to Nikki's loss of stamina. But again, Emily doesn't care. They still make love and that's all that matters.
"No, Nikki I want you-" Emily attempted to fling herself at her husband but he backed away and turned his head. A sharp pain stabbed her in the heart. "Do you want me to leave?" The question was asked in a quiet whisper Nikki barely caught. Nikki kept pushing her away. Is this what he wanted?
Nikki looks at her with wide eyes. "I-..." He couldn't form the words. He wanted her. He wanted her to stay. But he also cared about her too much to trap her in a miserable marriage. "What I want is for you to be happy. And if that is being single or with another man, then so be it. But... If by some miracle you are still happy being with me. Then by God I want you to say." Nikki finally answers.
"I want you, Nikki Lauda." Nikki's heart swells with love. He takes the one step he needs to kiss his wife deeply. Emily hangs her arms over his neck. Nikki pulls away. Their foreheads rest against each other. "I love you, my husband."
"I love you too, my wife.

no I don't think about that... or how his brother is named Nicholas and his sister is named Nicola, his mentor was Nikki (Lauda) and both his championships were lost due the direct result of a Nic(o Rosberg, 2016), Nicholas goatifi shunting it in the wall in 2021.

Os motores rugiam em Monza, uma atmosfera eletrizante pairava sobre o Grande Prêmio da Itália enquanto as equipes se preparavam para uma das corridas mais emocionante da temporada.
Enquanto os olhos estavam fixos na pista, nos bastidores, hackers infiltraram-se nos sistemas da Red Bull Racing, manipulando dados cruciais da telemetria e rádios. Sascha Deutscher viu suas informações de pneus e estratégias de pit stop distorcidas, comprometendo seu desempenho e minando suas chances de vitória.
A tensão aumentava a cada curva, enquanto o público se dividia entre o espetáculo na pista e o mistério nos bastidores. Quem estaria por trás desses atos ardilosos? Seriam forças externas tentando desestabilizar o campeonato ou intrincados jogos políticos dentro das equipes? E o que mais estaria por vir?

Mercedes W201 był pierwszą c-klasą w historii. Oczywiście nazwa marketingowa „c-klasa” jeszcze nie istniała. Pojawiła się dopiero przy kolejnym modelu W202. Ale typoszereg wielkościowy ten sam. Przewrotnie samochody Mercedesa c-klasy, są klasyfikowane wielkościowo w segmencie „D”, pośród innych marek. Początek produkcji W201 był nieco ryzykowny w strategii Mercedesa. Marka ta bowiem zawsze produkowała limuzyny o większych gabarytach, a „stodziewięćdziesiątka” miała być samochodem mniejszym. Decyzja o wprowadzeniu na rynek tego modelu okazała się słuszna. Sprzedano prawie 1,9 mln egzemplarzy w latach 1982-1993. Nad wyglądem samochodu pieczę sprawował Bruno Sacco – tworząc zaczątek nowej linii Mercedesów, również w innych klasach. Założeniami dotyczącymi wyglądu auta były: niski współczynnik aerodynamiki, zachowanie elementów charakteryzujących markę oraz krok do przodu, będący odświeżeniem wizerunku samochodów z gwiazdą na masce.
190tka miała również innowacyjną konstrukcję tylnego zawieszenia, która daje doskonały kompromis pomiędzy komfortem, jakością prowadzenia, a bezpieczeństwem czynnym. Miałem okazję prowadzić wszystkie c-klasy wyprodukowane później, aż do najnowszego modelu – W205. Stwierdzam, że W201 prowadzi się najlepiej i jest najwygodniejsze.
W 201 miało konkurować rynkowo z BMW serii III. Jednak było produkowane tylko w nadwoziu sedan, a rywal z Bawarii miał również wersje: coupe, kombi i cabrio. Pomimo tego Mercedesy, już nawet na rynku wtórnym zbierały lepsze opinie. Były mniej awaryjne i mniej podatne na korozję.

Ciekawostki
W 1984 roku na otwarcie toru wyścigowego w Nurburgringu zorganizowano pokazowy wyścig, gdzie udział brały W201 z motorami 2,3 16V. Wśród kierowców były takie sławy jak: Nikki Lauda, czy Keke Rosberg. Wyścig wygrał nikomu wówczas nieznany Ayrton Senna.
Pomimo iż 190 tka oficjalnie nie była klasyfikowana jako c-klasa, uchodzi za najbardziej udany model tego segmentu.
„Żaden inny samochód nie wzbudziłby takiej ciekawości, jak ten nowy projekt najstarszego na świecie producenta silników”, napisał specjalistyczny magazyn „Auto, motor und sport” w 1983 r.
Koszty całego projektu wdrożenia produkcji W201 wynosiły około 2 mld. Niemieckich marek.
W201 jest pierwszym samochodem w jakim zastosowano wielowahaczowe zawieszenie tylne.
Bruno Sacco uważa W201 za jeden ze swoich najlepszych projektów, którymi kierował.

No cóż – obecnie można trafić okazję i nabyć bezwypadkowego Mercedesa, który nie jest umęczony, za kwotę mniejszą niż 20 tys. zł. Będzie to samochód zdecydowanie lepszy, niż cokolwiek innego w tej cenie. Będzie niedrogi w utrzymaniu, gdyż części są tanie i łatwo dostępne, a sam samochód jest niezwykle niezawodny. Jeśli jest Dieslem, to nie będzie paliwożerny. Wygląda elegancko, jest bezpieczny i świetnie się prowadzi. W porównaniu do współczesnych kompaktów – można nim jechać w naprawdę długą trasę. Nie będziemy wysiadać połamani no i mamy pewność, że dowiezie nas w praktycznie każde miejsce na naszym kontynencie bez pomocy lawety. Wiele czynności serwisowych możemy wykonać sami przy pomocy kilku prostych narzędzi. Instrukcji napraw w postaci filmów na youtube jest ogrom. Ponadto, kupując 190 tkę będziesz miał samochód, który został zaprojektowany, jak żaden dotychczas. To 190 tka była pionierem dla samochodów „szczytu myśli technicznej” Mercedesa (zaliczane są do niego jeszcze modele W124 i W140). Wartość 190 tki z czasem będzie wzrastać, na pewno nie zmaleje. Więc jeśli nie przeraża Cię myśl, że Twój samochód ma ponad trzydzieści lat, to kupuj! Zaznaczam, że ceny 190 tek nie rosną oszałamiająco, ale na pewno przy zakupie tego auta finansowo nie stracisz. Do tego widok zachodzącego słońca poprzez celownik na masce plus świetne prowadzenie są tego warte.
