SCVI do SO MUCH in terms of character development/exploration both for the main characters you ineteract in the main plot and side characters you might miss out on if you aren't fully taking in the game.

I have 380 pokemon into the dex, beat all 5 starfall bosses, every gym leader, and all the titans and i JUST went back to do the classes for the academy.

Bonding with Director Clavell and taking time to talk to The school Nurse/ other teachers is such a fun experience that you really build relationships with these seemingly unimportant NPC's

*Spoilers*

The PC doing the treasure hunt inspired Mimi to take her teaching exam and pursue her dream of teaching for the academy.

Taking the Art class with Hassel totally gives you insight into his position as a member of the Elite Four and how much he cares for pokemon AND you get his totally platonic relationship with the Grass Type Gym Leader, Brassius

Director Clavell, who tries to protect the PC at the end of The Starfall route from fighting the real Cassopeia fearing they'll get hurt, asks you about your time at the academy and offers a help/guidance should it be needed and really takes this kid under his wing.

AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE SOLID CHARACTER ARCS FOR BOTH NEMONA AND ARVEN

This game has its visual glitches and bugs but GOD DAMN have i enjoyed the story in all it has to offer. Its refreshing to see the characters like your "rival" who- for the majority of the franchise- have been "I WANT TO BE STRONGER AND BETTER THAN YOU" Actually have in depth personalites and quirks that attach you to them.

And the way Nemona and Arven INERACT WITH EACH OTHER!!!! IS SO SOLID. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

I was using my 3ds today to move some pokemon over to poke home and once again realized what a downgrade the switch is in comparison. We don’t have cool themes to customize our home screen. We don’t have the camera anymore. Can’t access the internet. And it isn’t conveniently portable. Sure the big thing with the switch is that it’s both a handheld and console system but I really do miss some the functions of the ds family.
