The last moments of my final Splatoon 1 battle before the plug on the Wii U servers got pulled (RIP to SØRA who got caught in the inkzooka blast at the very end)
Thank you to Atma, Mandy, and わたる from my team, and thank you to LaNdOn, SØRA, Sei, and memeguuy from the blue team for spending these last moments with me.
I grew up on this game, and I'm really thankful I got to be a part of its last moments. Rest in peace Splatoon 1 :)

I am posting this to celebrate the announcement of Minish Cap onto the Switch ^o^ <3
holy helllllll I finally found out how to animate with CSP also this is my first fully coloured/shaded animation everrr ^o^ There is soooo much to learn in this field dhdhdhdhdhd. So you mean I can actually use the stuff I've learnt in my media design school? :OOO
It sucks that the regular version of CSP only allows 24 frames but on the other hand maybe it's good so I don't kill myself over my ambitious projects XDDD
I was able to finish this one in roughly one day (tho I've hyperfixated and risked my wrist and eyes)
I really want to do the second of Vaatis noises now but I fear I need a break first :,))))))
So bestie informed me of this project for archiving streetpass data before the servers die! A group of folks are collecting the dumps of various streetpasses for 2DS/3DS and the WiiU in hopes of using the information given for potential revival of servers and features!
The Spotpass Archival Project!
A direct quote from their site sums it up better than I can:
"By dumping this database from your system(s), you can help various network revival services in preserving SpotPass content, ensuring that SpotPass features in these titles can be used long after Nintendo has pulled the plug on the service. Database dumps are anonymized when collected. Dumps are sent to network revival services to allow SpotPass features to be replicated later."
They have tutorials and step by step instructions to help guide those with or without custom firmware on their consoles
Any data before tomorrow, April 8th at 4:00pm, is better than none to help these guys efforts in not losing many features and services our beloved consoles have given us in the past! If your able to help by all means its fairly quick! And if you don't have any way to upload info to their cause, then the next best thing is to spread the word!
Nintendo has finally blessed us FE fans with Nintendo icons! I know a lot of people wanted FE3H (me included) but I’m just happy we’re finally getting something Dx
Icons will be released every week so don’t forget to get them before they’re gone!
i dont like how the nintendo online free trial doesnt even allow you to get the singular profile icon you want and then cancel
its literally just one
so why does it give you like 20 platinum points and you cant even use them now i have to watch the thing i really want stare at me and judge me until the 5 days of whatever event is over and then its gone forever
i need a couple 21+ friends who listen to phoebe bridgers, Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker and Boygenius and play animal crossing with an active nintendo online subscription.
Splatoon's a great game because there's no text or legitimate usable voice chat (I'm looking at you Nintendo online app) so I can play and not only be free of being cussed out for sucking, but also there are basically no try-hards or people who play nonstop everyday of their lives like COD or Apex legends...
This is more of a rant towards more than just Nintendo, but I fucking hate this trend of subscriptions literally everywhere you go.
You already have Netflix, Hulu, Discovery Plus, HBO Max, and every other fucking channel under the sun trying to make people pay subscriptions to watch literally anything, and now you also have shit like Nintendo Online, Playstation Online, whatever other consoles, and even Clip Studio Paint now?? A program that was praised for not being greedy like Adobe?
And even if you pay these damn subscriptions, they might just randomly pull beloved stuff from their platforms just because they personally don't see its value anymore, like HBO Max with tons of original content, cartoons, and even most of Sesame Street, a program literally MADE to be public access (they also didn't tell any of the animators who worked on these cartoons that they were pulling them, btw).
This also goes for Nintendo with all its beloved games that they KNOW people wanna buy, but for some reason refuse to make available, so now a bunch of games are just gonna die with the 3DS and Wii U era and never be made available again. They'll just rot in whatever database or archive or whatever the fuck they keep these games in, instead of preserving these valuable pieces of media that brought people so much joy and paved the history of video game development.
I hope this trend of making everything a subscription fucking backfires on these companies and dies, because my God, it is so tiring having to pay all this money towards all these mediocre services when they offer the bare minimum, and constantly take away what gems they have that even made us care in the first place. I'm not kidding or exagerrating when I say that money hungry, capitalistic stuff like this is what ruins the art of video game development, animation, and just creation in general.
When you prioritize your profits, you lose so much that can't be replaced with cash.
And I really do feel like we need to take this stuff out of the hands of these corporations and into the hands of people who actually care, artistically driven people, people who appreciate the mediums all this content is being made from.
If you have a 3DS or Wii U please donate a SpotPass dump to the archive project to help restoration efforts
Modded or Unmodded Devices welcome!
The SpotPass servers are residually open even after the April 8 online closure, so please join the discord and complete the partition dump if you can! All data does to the Internet Archive and by extension Pretendo.
It takes data built into your 3DS system data into the attached SD Card, so be sure to at minimum have room in the 4GB SD or micro SD that comes with any 3DS (or buy one for your Wii U as external storage is sold separately). If you follow instructions and all works well it should only take less than 15 minutes of your time but the discord has plenty of helpful people for advice.
If you buy a brand new SD card, be sure to also format the SD to Fat32 (this is great for micro SDs over 256GB so you can have plenty of game storage) and there are very easy tutorials online. Here’s one for Windows Devices:
